This is a single detached unit. It’s a studio with a bathroom that is handicap friendly. The Queen size bed has a new firm mattress with a new 2 inch latex topper. There is a small fridge, microwave, single serve Kurig coffee maker, toaster oven, and hot water pot. I supply tea and coffee fixings and paper goods. There is a pleasant view of the back yard garden and creek setting. It’s in a quiet neighborhood and enjoys nice privacy.

DOGS: We have two rescue dogs, Zippy - the mellow Black Lab/Retriever mix and Paco - the occasionally loud-mouthed, small Chihuahua. Both have a kind temperament, but Paco is the Alpha and is the vocal dog. We apologize in advance for his vociferous greeting. He loves people, but it takes him some warming-up when new people arrive on the property. We will do our best to keep the dogs from getting in your way.

Enter into the Great Room where you will enjoy a comfy (queen sleeper) sofa, table and chairs, and our kitchen area. The kitchen amenities allow you to prepare simple meals to enjoy. Your first morning includes a self serve continental breakfast. There is also coffee, tea, and some snacks provided to get you started on your stay. A short hallway leads to the large bedroom that has a king size bed, seating area, stereo, Smart TV, and a dresser. It's a room that's meant to lounge around in. The bath is off the bedroom and has a tiled walk-in shower. A neighborhood walking trail is right out the back gate. Roam the farm's fields and gardens, pet the horses, feed the chickens, watch the lambs frolicking, or just enjoy sitting on your private deck with BBQ and great views.

Guests are welcome to walk about the farm. Kids love the farm and we hope you'll take them on a tour. Guided tours upon request. We ask that you close all gates that you open and respect our privacy. There are many garden areas, and you are welcome to look, but not pick. There are numerous apiaries, orchards, gardens, pollinator gardens, and a pond with a picnic table and trees. You'll have a whole deck area to yourselves with seating and a BBQ.

Our location puts you within reasonable driving distances of some of southern Oregon's best vacation activities. We are 1.5 hours from the coast through the majestic Redwoods, 1 hour from the Cave's National Park, 1 hour from historic Jacksonville and the Britt Music Festival, minutes from wineries in the Applegate Valley, and 1.5 hours from Ashland's famous Shakespeare Theatre. Crater Lake is 2.5 hours away. And you're only 15 minutes from all the happenings in Grants Pass!

The Rio shares the property with our own home, as well as three other airbnbs. Rent one unit, or all four. Please be courteous and respectful to all of our homes and other renters.

Don't forget your fishing pole, this property is on the banks of the Wild and Scenic Rogue River. Lounge by the pool, feed the geese, go shopping, or head to any of the amazing restaurants that are just around the corner. I'm in the city limits, so everything is a minute or two away. It's my slice of heaven.

The space
The main house at DunMovin' was first built in 1946 as a Fishing retreat. Over the years the original owners moved in full time and began to add on to it. After several renovations The Cottage emerged. It is separated by a breezeway from the main house, where I live.

I'm a big fan of interesting furniture and random things, so The Cottage has evolved with a 40s vibe, and yet it does have free Wifi, a vintage workstation, hot showers, and a super comfy queen bed. Just added this year (2022): a top of the line custom Murphy Bed. It’s a single sized super comfy, and super cool model specially designed for the Cottage. I list it as optimal for 2 people but 4 (and more) have stayed here with no issues, especially kids (who are like puppies and can sleep anywhere). I do have a queen and twin size AeroBeds if needed.

The Cottage has a vintage inspired mini-kitchen. I always have included an induction cooktop, a microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, and apartment sized refrigerator, and prep area on a small antique cabinet with a beautiful marble counter and backsplash. I supply the pots and pans, cooking utensils, prep bowls, linens, and most every thing you might need to create your stove-top meal. I also include some lovely vintage dishes to complete your dining experience. Check out the photos for a preview.

For those of you who are either visiting or working at any of the medical centers in Southern Oregon, I'm about a 6 minute drive to Three River's Community Hospital. I'm also conveniently located close to Exit 55 (the southern most exit for Grants Pass) and about a 30 minute drive to either Providence or Rogue River Medical Center.

Music Lovers? The Britt is an amazing place with top name performers and outdoor seating. It's a small venue where you can actually see the people you came to see. There are no huge stages or barricades. I'm a huge fan! Often there are several big live music events at the fairgrounds only 20 minutes from my front door. Hmmmm.... sounds like a lot of fun coming this way.

DunMovin' is a river front property in the city limits of Grants Pass. The Cottage at DunMovin' is about a 12 second walk to the river. You cannot see the river from the Cottage. I do have a second unit (Riverside on the Rogue) that is river facing studio apartment. You won’t be able to see the other unit from your front porch, but you might run into other guests in common areas like the pool or grounds during your stay.

(Our pool season is typically mid to late April through October.)

Guest access
Guests have access to my private saline pool that is located on the river side of the property. The pool is heated to 82 degrees beginning in April. In the warmer months I don't heat it, since we need a bit of 'refreshment' from the warm air. Guests also have access to the propane BBQ and vintage glass table (seats 6) for outdoor dining. There are several poolside chairs for lounging and a water slide for bigger kids and adults. The pool depth ranges from 4 feet to 8 feet. I have several floaties to choose from. The property is completely fenced with the exception of the lower third that is closest to the river. I leave this open because I like the rustic look. Guests are welcome to bring their fishing poles and fish from the banks; you will need an Oregon fishing license. Guests are also welcome to swim in the river, kayak, plank, or whatever water activity inspires. My section of the river is very wide and deep, there are riffles above and below my section but they are long way from my section. Guests also are welcome to use my tandem bike to explore the neighborhood. It's a blast. I also offer two Specialized cruisers for those of you not interested in testing a relationship on a tandem bike. One has a sweet basket in the front so you could hit the farmers market, or bring your own snacks. There is no charge to use any equipment at DunMovin’.

We are pet friendly here at DunMovin’. ALL GUESTS PLANNING ON BRINGING A PET MUST CONTACT ME REGARDING EACH VISIT. GUESTS ARRIVING WITHOUT DECLARING PETS AT BOOKING WILL INCUR A NON-REFUNDABLE $75 fee.

Please note I have two medium/large sized dogs onsite. The dogs are VERY friendly. They love children most of all. They are not allowed in the Cottage. Any item left unattended outside the Cottage, they assume is a gift for them. Often they will try to split your unintentional dog offering up between them. They will greet you enthusiastically every time you come home. They are suckers for attention.

Also please note there is absolutely no smoking, or vaping, inside the Cottage. I am perfectly fine with outdoor smoking, as long as all debris is disposed of appropriately.

Please note that I have a septic system. What this means is that you may not flush any type of ‘flushable wipe’ or sanitary product down the toilet. It WILL clog the system and we will have a unsatisfactory few hours while we work together to unclog the system and likely need the skills of a professional to clear the blockage.

1000 sq ft guest house on a one acre, fully fenced and landscaped property located on a quiet cul-de-sac close to the Wild and Scenic Rogue River, Grants Pass, and within 2 hours of Crater Lake, Redwoods, Oregon Coast etc. Guest house offers a fully furnished, spacious, open floor plan with 2 queen beds to accommodate families, fishermen, rafters, and more. Quiet and elegant space. Plenty of room to host events on a CASE-BY-CASE basis. Prior approval must be approved by owners and an extra fee will be charged depending on the size of the event.

Small two story guesthouse with mountain views, close to the scenic Rogue River and approximately 15 minutes from downtown Grants Pass. Awesome stargazing in the backyard with access to a BBQ, firepit and outdoor seating areas to enjoy the peace and quiet. Two miles from I-5.

The space
The guesthouse is a detached “in-law” unit that is adjacent to the main house. The bottom floor is equipped with a kitchenette and a full bathroom with a tub and shower. There is a new (2023) twin sized futon on the bottom floor suitable for one person. Please be advised, the stairs to the top floor are steep and short. The top floor has a new (2023) double bed.

Guest access
The guest unit has a small private patio with mountain views. You are likely to see wildlife including deer, turkeys, rabbits and the occasional coyote. Guests may access any parts of the property that are not fenced. Please feel free to use the BBQ, fire pits and outdoor seating areas. There are hiking trails on the lower property. Utilize the hiking trails at your own risk as they are steep, slippery and rocky in some areas. The trails are not recommended for individuals who are highly sensitive to poison oak. We ask that you please do not enter the area which is fenced off for the dogs.

Other things to note
Dog lovers- we know it’s hard to resist but we ask that you do not feed or pet the resident dogs. They are shy rescues and it is in their best interest if you ignore them. Thank you for your understanding!

Welcome to the little Chalet in the beautiful Oregon woods! Come relax and unplug in this charming private guest house situated on 4 acres, just 5 minutes from downtown Grants Pass and 3 minutes from grocery stores and shopping yet you feel as if you are out in the country far removed from anything and everything.
This space was created to embody Swiss style living and the details speak to that. Comfortable and efficient.

The space
Quiet cozy guest chalet is newly built and equipped for a relaxing comfortable stay ideally for couples or small families. Two adults and 2 children will fill the space with much fun for kids in the loft. The loft is also a great book nook hang out area for all. The chalet is built up the hillside so features 2 levels of 3 to 4 steps up to the next level. The Chalet is designed to be private from the owners home, situated about 100 feet up the hill and away. We respect your privacy. This space is custom built to keep you comfortable and relaxed.

Main floor is living room/sleeping space with queen sleeper sofa with extra pillow topper for added comfort. Enjoy a cozy evening in front of the newly installed electric fireplace.
Also has comfy rocker chairs.
Second level is kitchen and sleeping loft access. Kitchen has 2 burner stove top, and Cuisinart air fryer/ baker/ toaster/roaster. Fully equipped with dish washer, fridge, coffee maker, French press and microwave. Pots pans, utensils, fun serving dishes, herbs and spices all provided. As a home cook I have equipped the chalet with everything I would want for cooking during a vacation. Note: the refrigerator is often stocked with basic condiments like ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce, A-1, salad dressing, lemon juice, lime juice ect.
Third level has King bed in the master with the full bathroom on the same landing. Bedroom has blackout curtains.
Both beds are protected with mattress protectors.

There is a sleeping loft that is carpeted and has a super twin sleeping pad, sheets, sleeping bags and pillows located in the steamer trunk which is accessed by a ship’s ladder.
Spa towels and outdoor blankets for chilly weather are provided. They are stored by the spa in storage bins. Deck seating area has a newly installed gazebo providing shade and cover from the elements.

This space is designed as a vacation retreat from your everyday life. Relax and unwind at the Chalet.

T.V. Is internet based via satellite. Samsung Smart TV network is provided which works well. There is also a DVD player and some movies provided. There are a couple of red box movie rental machines nearby. There are some table games stored in the coffee table. Prepare to unplug and enjoy nature!

There is a seasonal creek that runs the length of the lower end of the property. It usually runs late October thru mid June and is dry in the summer.

Wildlife you will see are Gray Squirrels, a variety of birds including woodpeckers, swallows and a pair of Red Tail Hawks that have a nest up the hill. You will also likely see several generations of deer that continue to give birth to their fawns in the spring and have family hang out time all over the property. They like to spend time in the Chalet lawn in the early mornings and late afternoons when it is shady. If you are lucky you will spy the little fawns playing around the sprinkler under the aspen trees just down the hill.

Other things to note
There is an outdoor cat named Elvis. He is fixed, fat and old so he just mainly sleeps all day but he is a mighty hunter at night. Very docile, he has Everything he needs. You likely won't see him but if you do feel free to call him over for a pet and a scratch.
