That’s right! The Trail City Bed and Breakfast is actually a renovated saloon that was built circa 1885 in Trail City, Colorado. The building was moved across the border to Coolidge, Kansas (its present location) in approximately 1887. In 2011 Proprietors Larue Lennen and Lori Lennen purchased and renovated the historic building to provide a luxurious western living experience for their guests.

The Sunflower Room is a large airy bedroom on the 3rd floor east with one queen bed and private full bath. Claw foot tub and shower, original octagon floor tile, original woodwork and hardwood floors. Ceiling fan, black out curtains, strong wi-fi, central air and heat.

Guest access
Besides the guest room, guests have access to the sitting room on the third floor with recliners and a dining table along with the large living area on the first floor with television and games. There is a large wrap-around front porch and a huge partially fenced in front yard.

Ice water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and fruit available 24/7 in the dining room.

Other things to note
Our cat Henry resides in the house. We keep him out of the guest rooms, but those with severe cat allergies may be uncomfortable.

Full bathroom is located off of the one bedroom and includes towels. Games include air hockey, darts, slot machine, pool table, and foosball. Gym equipment includes treadmill, rower, stationary bike and weight machine. There's a zipline, trampoline, swings and treehouse located on the property as well. Hottub not operational.

Very laid back and quiet atmosphere. Half mile on gravel road off of K-18. Pull through driveway suitable for boats, trailers, Uhauls, etc. Bathroom access is through the one bedroom.

Stay downtown near restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, and shows. Only a few blocks from the Granada and Library. Just 1 mile to the KU campus and 2 miles to I-70.

The guesthouse has a tile entry with one flight of carpeted stairs. The kitchen has white cabinetry with Silestone countertops, a microwave, range, dishwasher, and refrigerator. The laundry area has a washer, dryer, and a tankless water heater. The bath has a white vanity with Silestone counter, and sun tunnel.

The space
There is a Keurig coffee maker for individual cups of coffee. There is also a full size coffee maker, an Aeropress, a small French press, a gooseneck kettle and a V60 coffee dripper. Ground coffee and tea bags are provided. There is a Brita water pitcher in the fridge.

Guest access
Full access to the apartment above the garage. Enjoy the relaxing deck with goldfish pond and small waterfall.

Other things to note
4K TV with Roku and a Chromecast for Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, etc. The TV is on a swivel stand so it can be pointed directly at the bed or sofa or in the middle so everyone can watch. We also have a sound bar.

The Wolf Manor (a division of The Historic Wolf Hotel). Built in the late 1800's as the Catholic rectory, this three story building was moved to its current location on West fourth street in 1941. In 2017 The historic building preservation enthusiasts of The Historic Wolf Hotel purchased the building to use for overnight accommodations. It has eight bedrooms, and two full apartments within. Future plans may even include an outside venue in the back yard!

Come enjoy a cozy stay in the remodeled 1955 Iuka Grade School! The 38,500 square foot building has a lot of charm and unique history. The original grade school offered 4 class rooms, a music room, a gym with stage, and a cafeteria. When owners, Luke & Caitlin Laha, purchased the school in 2018 they wanted to keep the school aspect while incorporating the "hunting lodge" feel. The lodge is completely handicap accessible! There are community restrooms in the school, one men's & one women's.

The space
The 4 class rooms have been split into 8 bedrooms with 2 queen beds each. The music room is now the Master Room which includes a King size bed, a coffee bar, a personal office, and a library. Guest will be provided bed linens and towels during their stay, as well as breakfast each morning they stay. You don't want to miss out on staying in this unique, one of a kind school!

Guest access
There is an Entertainment room for guest to use while they are staying. This room includes a 65" TV, couches, reclining chairs, hightop tables that seat 20 people, and a pool table. There is free Wifi during your stay. Don't forget to check out the cafeteria, where you can get a latte or one of a kind Sandwich at our full service coffee shop and cafe'! We have something for everyone here at Old School Outfitters and The Lunchroom Cafe' & Coffee!

During your stay
Luke & Caitlin will be available to greet guest when they arrive. They will be in the school Thursday-Saturday during normal Cafe' & Coffee Shop hours, but they are only a call away if any issue arise.

The Bunkhouse sits adjacent to a large body of water. Just 10 miles to Pittsburg and 30 miles to Joplin, MO.

Guests can enjoy time outside on the covered porch next to the water, sit around the fire pit on those cool evenings, go for a hike, play a game of pickleball, or enjoy some catch and release fishing from the bank.

Experience country living and sights and sounds of nature.

Free range chickens also roam the property.

The space
The bunkhouse has a twin over full bunk bed and a couch. The top bunk is close to the ceiling so not ideal for older or less agile adults. The kitchenette has a sink, mini fridge, microwave, and a toaster.

Kitchenware, utensils, keurig coffee maker, bedding, and towels are provided. Note that there is no dishwasher, washer, or dryer.

The bunkhouse sits on the same property as our home (approximately 150 feet away). But since the porch sits on the opposite side, you will have more than enough privacy.

Rooms are keyed for security. There is a common area landing between the rooms self-serve hot/cold beverages and some snacks. Microwave and frig are conveniently available also on that community landing. The hostess loves pets, the "olders", and children but the house is not set up safely for this. There are stairs to house entry and up to the rooms.

This listing is for the "Bunk House" side of our duplex apartment. There is a two door passage between the two apartments (like in a hotel suit) and can be locked from either side.

Both sides have fully equipped kitchen areas with refrigerator, stove, sink, dishes, and cooking utensils. Each has a full bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower.

By staying in either side of the duplex you have access to all of the same amenities you would have if you were staying in the main house with a great $.

The space
The north side of the duplex which we call the (Bunk House) has a single bedroom with two queen size beds in it and there is also a hide a bed couch in the living room area. It can easily sleep 6 comfortably.
The south side of the duplex which we call the (Line Shack) is a studio style apartment and it has a queen size bed and a couch in it. It will accommodate up to 3 people.

Guest access
With this listing you will only have access to the "Bunk House" side of the duplex apartment. If you would like to rent both sides of the duplex; just let us know and we will extend a special discounted price that will save you about 20% per night for your stay.
