When chasing this up, were told they would not provide them until they received payment (which had been made to hotels.com at the time of booking). Spent at least two hours on hold during three phone calls to hotels.com on the day of check in, each time being assured that the problem would be resovled. Finally received the access codes at 4.30pm on the day (Check in was supposed to be from 3pm). On arrival, the couple that live within the other flat in the house, were in the process of moving in!! Had to wait for another while as they called the owner and moved their belongings back out again. Other issues (like the inner access code not working so having to leave it insecure with our belongings so that we could get back in, and wifi password being incorrect were also just par for the course). Never again there, or with hotels.com!!"

The Strawberry Barns comprise 2 semi-detached units. This listing refers to only 1 unit.
Whilst we are easily accessed via the M20 J8 and the A20 (Ashford Road), the Barns are located in a rural area where some of the local roads are narrow, not well maintained, and prone to minor flooding in winter

Sit back & relax in this calm, cosy space. Set within the grounds of our gated family home in Detling located on the slope of the North Downs, 4 miles north east of Maidstone, & on the Pilgrims' Way.

Whether you want a relaxing get away or want to explore many of the wonderful walks and bike trails the north downs have to offer you can be sure to find a warm and cosy place to stay at the end of the day.

Isolated self catering one bedroom Log Cabin accommodation with hot tub in an area of outstanding natural beauty, on the foot of the North Downs in Kent.

The Cabin is completely fenced, with its own entrance and garden, so if you do bring a dog you can relax. If you are looking for a rural retreat surrounded by fields, why not use the Cabin as a base. It is ideal for walking, biking, visiting local attractions or a romantic break.

Fancy retracing the steps of the Pilgrims on their way to Canterbury, losing yourself in our local countryside, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty?

Get away from it all and stay in a detached log cabin with hot tub.

We are pleased to offer self-catering accommodation in a newly erected log cabin, built in the grounds of our 16th century home, with views of The North Downs here in Thurnham, Kent.

The Cabin (23ft by 10ft) has been decorated and fitted out with a contemporary look and offers full heating throughout. The bedroom has a comfortable double bed, with an en-suite shower room. We provide toiletries, hairdryer, and a couple of towelling robes with matching slippers, just so you’ll feel pampered!

After a day spent enjoying the outdoors, you might want to relax in front of the television on the reclining sofa or just enjoy the flicker of the flames created by our instant-heat electric fire. If you want to prepare your own meals, there’s an oven, microwave and hobs. We’ll even arrange for a food delivery if that’s what you want and store it in the refrigerator ready for your arrival.

A gazebo covers the hot tub during the winter months unless high winds are forecast.

Weather permitting, you will be able to sit out on your own private veranda that overlooks the North Downs and dine alfresco. You’ll find a barbecue in the shed, which can also house any bikes you might decide to bring.

We can advise you on local walks and cycle routes, even those including our wonderful local pubs! This area is steeped in history so you might perhaps choose to visit nearby Leeds Castle and find out why Henry VIII stayed there. The shops are a short drive away.

If you are looking for a tranquil, rural retreat, set at the end of a bridleway and surrounded by fields, why not use The Cabin as a base?
