Silver Cottage is a renovated SilverSmith's dating from the early 1800s. It has had a total renovation and is now the ideal location for a peaceful retreat. It is situated at the end of a private lane that leads into open countryside between the hamlet of Hunton and Yalding village. It is silent at night with only the odd tractor during the warm summer days. Yet the village of Yalding has excellent pubs, a restaurant, a cafe (for great coffee), the excellent Yalding Organic Gardens, a village shop, post office, access to the river Medway (fishing, canoeing etc) and many historic buildings and features.
It is a glorious walk to Yalding in 20-30 minutes or a 5 minute drive.
On entering the front door of Silver Cottage there is a cloakroom to the right with a large walk-in shower. The next room is a twin bedroom with plenty of built-in storage. The rest of the ground floor is taken up by the kitchen / diner and sitting room. The kitchen is large and has a dishwasher, washing machine and fridge. The dining table seats six and there are two sofas, a TV, stereo and a fabulous wood-burning stove. Under-floor heating is fitted throughout the ground floor. The main bedroom is upstairs and has a generous en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath.
The cottage has its own private garden and terrace, private parking, use of the owners' tennis court (by arrangement) and charcoal barbecue.
The cottage would suit a couple or a family looking for a rural, summer holiday or those looking for a cosy winter break, snuggled inside with the wood-burning stove. The building has been insulated with modern products and holds the heat in winter and is cool in the summer.
- "We were very comfortable at the cottage: nice beds, comfy sofa, good shower and lovely bath. Enough hot water and a well-functioning heating system. Thank you also for the nice treats on arrival and the quick communication. The lane is really quiet with a lovely view across the fields. We look forward to staying with you again." - "Great Location" - "We loved the public footpaths and the cottage was cosy on rainy days. Loved the downstairs shower and lovely bath upstairs."

- "Beautiful surroundings, cottage with great decor, great welcome pack and very peaceful. Beds very comfortable. The owner was very understanding due to a day delay on arrival on our part." - "What a fantastic stay. We chose this property as we needed to vacate our home whilst work was being done, but it ended up so much more than just a place to lay our heads. The location, near the main road was ideal, but actually very quiet, as it was set down a hill. Pauline, the owner, couldn't have been more accomodating, finding extra parking for us and sorting out things very quickly. The location was brilliant, especially for our 2 dogs who loved the peaceful walks in the near vacinity"

The only issue we had was that the TV didn’t work due to signal, could maybe benefit from sky or a cable box? Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo" - "Beautiful cottange and garden. Our son loved the pool. Arrived to some lovely goodies including a little pack of baby toiletries which was very much appreciated. The village of Hollingbourne is very picturesque, and though further from the centre of the village than we thought there is a shortcut across the wheat field so we didn't have to take the pram on the road. We can thoroughly recommend staying here, especially if you enjoy peace and quiet." - "We had a lovely break at Woolhouse Barn. It's cosy, welcoming and clean. It had everything we needed in the kitchen and it's set in a lovely rural location. There isn't much to do on the doorstep so you need to drive, but if you know that in advance then it's not a problem. The cottages are lovely and well equipped, comfy beds, good living spaces and plenty of bathrooms. The estate is very secure, quite and pretty, the children in our group had a wonderful time running through the trees and playing in the very clean pool. It was great, the pool opening times 10am-5:30pm really helped us manage the children’s and made for a very relaxing break. We didn’t venture out much as the weather was so good that we spent the week beside the pool and eating in the gardens! - "We enjoyed our stay and everything was just as we expected. Would recommend to family and friends Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo" - "Perfect cottage. Very well equipped and extremely clean. Owners available on site if there were any questions. Only comment would be directions. These were very clear except the name of the farm was on a sign facing away from the direction we travelled in, so we missed it. Might be a good idea to give location as "almost opposite the pub"."
