We look forward to your visit with us! Carolyn's Cove is one of the few accommodation providers located on the water with its own private beach. Our property is nestled on two acres on the inlet across from Ucluelet. Our main house has 3 rooms in the walk out basement overlooking the inlet. Each room has its own private 4-piece bathroom and entrance. Each of the rooms open to a semi private patio and common back yard with fire pit and seating area. The yard offers a 6 person hot tub, along with patio table and chairs to soak in the beautiful surroundings. Our rooms have a maximum guest accommodation of two per room, and are suitable for ages 13 and up.

Our property also has a detached double car garage with an upper level cabin. This open concept cabin has a full kitchen and living area. With its own deck, guests can enjoy private ocean views or visit with other guests around the fire pit. At low tide, walk on the beach or spend your time bird watching - one guest identified 31 species on our shoreline. At high tide, watch for visiting seals and sea lions. If you are a family wishing to visit the area, our cabin can accommodate up to four adults and works well for families with children.

New for 2022 is our Tranquil Tiny Cove offering a private deck with outside seating, BBQ and firepit help to create an atmosphere of quiet relaxation among nature. Inside our tiny home cabin is a welcoming queen bed, TV, and bathroom including a toilet, small sink and shower (comfortably fitting guests under 6 feet). The kitchen includes an induction cooktop, microwave, drip coffee, and kettle. This cabin has access to our shared hot tub near the house.

This reservation has a Firm cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 60 days prior to the check in date.
A 100% refund is provided for travelers cancelling at least 60 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travelers cancelling from 30 to 59 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travelers cancelling less than 30 days prior to check-in. VRBO Booking Fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request.

- If you would like additional rides to explore the town, beaches, or the national park during the day, transport can be provided at the following times daily (6am, 10am, 4pm and 9pm) for a fee of $25 per trip.

We generate power via solar panels and therefore are limited when it comes to charging personal devices. We do have some charging abilities at certain times of the day for smaller devices - phones, cameras, etc. However we can not power hair dryers, CPAP machines and any other personal electronic devices needing large power draws.

We recommend bringing your own battery packs if you have them to power your devices or do without them during your stay : )

Spacious west coast style cottage in central Ucluelet! Located on a quiet street with walking trails all around and a 15 minutes drive away from the amazing Pacific Rim beaches. We are a 2 minute walk from town with restaurants, shops, cafes and the harbour.

The space
The cottage sleeps 4 comfortably and is super clean and cozy. Kitchen is equipped with double induction range, fridge, counter top oven, microwave, bodum coffee maker, air fryer, selection of teas and everything you’ll need to cook all your meals. Open concept living space includes a comfortable 2 person futon and 32” smart TV with Netflix, crave and Amazon prime. Spacious, clean bathroom includes full size soaker tub. Queen bedroom has large closet and very comfy bed!

We have a BBQ and small outdoor dining area.

We are also proud to provide all organic, biodegradable soaps and cleaning products. We use a local refillery for all our products so there is no plastic waste.

Kiwi cottage is equipped with a 240 Volt Flo EV Charging Station so bring your electric car! Please let me know at time of booking if you will be needing this service.

There is a keypad entry and contactless check-in so you may arrive anytime. I will send you access code and check-in details 2 days prior to your arrival.
Guests have their own parking spot right in front of the suite. There are 3 stairs from the driveway leading up to a small front patio where the front door is located.

- Relax and unwind in the floating sauna. We have hand-built a beautiful wood burning cedar sauna on our dock for guests to enjoy. It has a large window inside to take in the view of the mountains, ocean and even bears on the shoreline. We highly recommend jumping in the ocean to cool down - the hot/cold therapy does wonders for your skin and body. Also - if you jump in at night, chances are the water will light up all around you with bio-luminescence!

- Sit up at the saloon bar for a fancy cocktail. There is a full bar aboard the vessel and we offer a variety of cocktails to sip and take in the sunset. All cocktails are a $10 donation which all goes to the local non-profits.

- Enjoy a book or a boardgame by the wood burning fire in the main saloon. The main saloon is heart of the vessel with a beautiful cozy fire, hand picked decor and plants, and a giant map of the Barkley Sound. Every room on the boat has a bookshelf full of books, so you're bound to find one that interests you!

- Lounge on the rooftop sundeck. This upper deck is a huge space on the boat to sit down and relax, take in the sun or the surrounding views, or watch the wildlife and boats go by.

- Try your luck at crabbing or fishing right off the boat! We have traps and fishing rods for you to use. Generally the crabbing is much better and many guests can catch a little crab appetizer if they put in a little effort! You can usually get some free bait from the fishing charters boats where the water taxi picks you up at.

- Get lost in the movie lounge below deck. We have our life collection of DVD's (yes - it's old school! ) with a TV downstairs in case you want settle into a good flick.

- Hitch a ride back to town for the day and explore the shops, restaurants, national park, or hikes. It's $25/trip for the water taxi, just be sure to be back in time for dinner in the grand dinning room. We can give you some good local gems to check out too - just ask!

- Sit in the Grand Dinning room and gaze at all the wildlife. With 180 degrees wrap around windows you can watch rain or shine and see sea lions, otters, bald eagles, and black bears (sometimes wolves).

- Pick-ups and Drop-offs are at the town docks in Ucluelet. There is free parking here for all our guests.

- Transportation is provided by a small 18ft aluminum boat

- If you would like additional rides to explore the town, beaches, or the national park during the day, transport can be provided at the following times daily (6am, 10am, 4pm and 9pm) for a fee of $25 per trip.

- We also have kayaks and rowboats if you’d like to adventure to town under your own power! (FREE). Dawn to dusk only.

ELECTRIC POWER RESTRICTIONS:
We generate power via solar panels and therefore are limited when it comes to charging personal devices. We can power your smaller devices - phones, cameras, laptops, etc. However we can not power hair dryers, CPAP machines and any other personal electronic devices needing large power draws.

We recommend bringing your own battery packs if you have them to power your devices or do without them during your stay : )

PARKING:
Free overnight parking for your vehicles in the Marina parking lot where we pick you up from. Once booked in we will send over a map!

Each room has an ocean view deck, overlooking the shared shoreline hot tub. We use Egyptian cotton towels, bathrobes and linens. We are a short drive to Tofino and Long Beach.

The space
Floor to ceiling windows invite you to take in changing tides, stormy ocean waves, night sky gazing and eagles. The rooms are focussed on nature and local culture. Daily baked goods, teas and coffee are complimentary for your stay. Toiletries are offered in re-usable containers to cut down on waste. Soap, shampoo, conditioner and dish soaps are sourced from a Canadian company and certified sustainable.

 We offer labeled bins so you can separate organics, recycling and waste with ease.

The private bathroom is clean and bright and includes shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a hairdryer.
The floors are finished concrete (beautiful but firm!), so we recommend bringing your cozy slippers.

The aluminum wall prints throughout the suite feature local landscapes photographed by your host. Note that the photos change from time to time.

We host only one B&B suite, so you'll be our only guest during your stay. Sandra and I live on-site and are happy to share tips to make your time in Ucluelet wonderful.

Looking for a place to spend a family vacation? Then our Treehouse Cabin is the accommodation for you. The private deck with outside seating and BBQ help to create an atmosphere of quiet relaxation among nature. Melt your worries with quiet walks on the shoreline or soak in the bubbling waters of the property's six person shared hot tub, perfect for soothing any aches and pains after a long day of exploring.
Inside the cabin there is a welcoming king size bed and large Roku smart TV. For groups of four, we have two futons that each convert into a double bed. The en-suite bathroom features a tile rainwater shower with a bench. The amenities continue with a full kitchen including gas range, full fridge, microwave & dishwasher. The living area offers a gas fireplace (for colder weather stays), perfect for those taking in the storm watching season.
Evenings can be spent enjoying a glass of wine on your deck before snuggling up to watch a movie on TV. Or use your own kitchen & BBQ grill to create a romantic dinner.
Enjoy tea/coffee in the back yard while making new friends or take in the beauty of the surrounding rainforest. The Pacific Rim is a community that welcomes everyone and where you are free to be yourself. It's your vacation, let our property help make it memorable.

This accommodation is suitable for groups or families of up to four (4). Prices are based on double occupancy, and we charges for extra guests over two (2). Children under the age of 2 that do not require an extra bed, stay for free. We supply all bedding except plastic mattress covers for futons.

THE PROPERTY:
Carolyn’s cove is one of the few accommodations in our area located on the ocean with its own private beach. The property is nestled on two acres of rainforest on the Ucluelet inlet.
We have the main house (directly on the ocean) which has 3 adults only (guests 13 and over) rooms in the walk out basement overlooking the inlet. Each room has their own private ensuite and entrance, bar fridge, keurig coffee & tea station. Our rooms open to a semi private patio, and common back yard with a 6 person hot tub along with patio table and chairs to soak in the beautiful surroundings. All rooms have their own TV, sitting area and high speed WiFi.

Newly added in 2022 is our Tranquil Tiny Home, located on the upper portion of our property. Guests of our 24t tiny home cabin have their own private deck with hottub, seating area and BBQ. The tiny home and Cozy Cove trailer are neighbours. Our tiny home cabin has a queen bed in the loft bedroom accessed by stairs. There is a kitchen with fridge, microwave, induction cooktop and all the utensils you will need for a romantic meal. There is a leather loveseat looking out at the ocean through double french doors. The cabin has a three piece bath with toilet, sink & shower, with a hot water on demand system.

At low tide walk on the beach, or spend your time bird watching - one guest identified 31 species on our shoreline. At high tide, watch for visiting seals and sea lions.

Guest access
This rental cabin has its own private deck to enjoy the view, however you are welcome to make use of the shared 6 person hot tub near the main house (by appointment). We have a path leading to the shoreline where you can launch a kayak, stand up paddle board, or go for a walk. There are plenty of areas to set up a lawn chair and enjoy our little piece of rainforest paradise.

Other things to note
The maximum number of adults in the cabin is four. Our cabin charge is for the number of beds to be made available. ***Double occupancy provides for the king bed only.***
Please note:
1. you may find the occasional bug or spider in the accommodation as we live near water in the rainforest,
2. Hot tub use is not guaranteed during your stay due to unforseen circumstances including but not limited to repairs and maintenance. Use is by appointment only between the hours of 9:30am abd 10pm.
3. Due to Ucluelet's remote location, there could be a disruption of power which could also affect water supply. There are no refunds for disruptions less than 24 hours in duration.
4. Due to unforseen circumstances, not all amenities are guaranteed to be available during your stay.
5. We do not allow the use of candles on or in our property. No open flames are allowed without our knowledge.

As one of the only accommodations in the area with a generator, you'll have uninterrupted light, warmth, Wi-Fi, and the ability to charge your devices. With gas fireplaces and ranges, you'll stay cozy while enjoying the thrill of storm watching from the comfort of your retreat.

YOUR PRIVATE RETREAT
Saltwood offers a serene and private environment for those who value tranquilly and connection to nature. Located on two acres of waterfront land, the property includes two luxurious guesthouses and the main house, ensuring an intimate escape from the feel of a large resort. Our guesthouses share identical floorpans and views, but were thoughtfully designed with subtle design differences.
• The Sea (lower): Concrete floors, 12' ceilings, free standing gas fireplace, covered deck. Accessed by five floating concrete floating steps. Pet friendly.
• The Trees (upper): Hardwood floors, vaulted wood ceilings, integrated fireplace, uncovered deck. Accessed by a flight of stairs. Not pet friendly.

PLEASE NOTE
• Our cancellation policy encourages guests to secure travel insurance to cover unforeseen disruptions due to weather, road conditions, road closures, illness, or other circumstances.
• We welcome up to four guests. Visitors considered, please request in advance. We do not allow extra beds, mattresses, or cots in the guesthouse.
• For tranquility, we welcome guests 13 and older. We appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoy the Saltwood experience.

We welcome a small, well behaved dog 30 lbs or under in The Sea guesthouse for an additional pet fee. Please request approval in advance and provide the following information for your furry friend:
• Age, breed, weight
• Whether your dog barks, chews, or has accidents
• Whether you will be bringing a doggy bed and/or blankets to protect furniture
• Whether you will be bringing doggy towels to dry paws and body after time outside
• An understanding that doggy guests are not left alone inside at any time
