This is a small, yet stunningly beautiful authentic log home on a 40 acre estate on the shores of Douglas Lake, an ideal location for endless activities! It is the guest house for the estate, and there is a larger main house that is also available for short term rentals. Booked together, these homes make for a completely unique experience and allow room for large groups to be together on the same property. The VRBO reference number for the main house is #1518107 if you would like to check it out as well. Those are the only two homes on the estate. Each property has its own dock, and they are in separate coves of the lake. Check out the Google location function and description for more about the property.

The wonderful feature about this property is that, despite the perfect location, it feels like you are off in a peaceful world by yourself. The cabin is at the end of a peninsula with a half mile driveway away from the nearest road, and is surrounded by 28,000 acre lake.

Literally, there is no other piece of property on this lake to compare in terms of beauty, location, activities, ease of access to interstates, and many attractions - without sacrificing peace, quiet, tranquility, and privacy.

Douglas Lake is a premier destination recreational and fishing lake with over 28,000 acres and more than 500 miles of shore line that spans over 30 miles long across multiple counties. However, Douglas is still quiet, relaxing place to be and provides good fun for all ages!

This home is located less than a mile from Dandridge, a charming, historical town that is credited with being the 2nd oldest town in Tennessee. The Point Marina and Restaurant is roughly a quarter mile away and offers dinner with impeccable views. Just 3 miles away, Exit 417 off of I-40 also offers additional places to eat. We are located about 30-50 minutes to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge tourist attractions or the Great Smoky Mountains, where there is family fun for every type of adventure. Knoxville is 30 miles away and features great restaurants and shopping locations. Asheville, NC, is about 85 miles away if you are looking for a short day trip during your stay. Hot Springs, NC, is about 40 miles away and offers a resort and spa with real hot spring tubs. This home is at a premier location on Douglas Lake with easy access to everything in the region. That is, IF you ever want to leave the property!

On the property, there is a private dock for each of the two homes located in separate coves. A 26' Tri-toon pontoon boat with a 150 hp four-stroke motor is available for rent, and there are kayaks and paddleboats around for free.

We have horses, but they are more suitable for admiring and petting than riding. They are very gentle, but have not been ridden much the past couple years. They love the attention when they're not grazing on the grass around the property. There are also a couple of trails for hiking as well as a campsite on the property.

The cabin itself is 18x24 feet, but there are three floors. The top floor is a master bedroom suite with a queen bed and a private bathroom with a shower, but no tub. The middle floor has a kitchen and dining area on one end, a fireplace in the middle, and a living room on the other side of the fireplace. The living room features two comfortable sofa beds that can sleep 1-2 people each. The ground floor has a queen bed with a private bathroom and an old Victorian-style copper tub.

That arrangement allows for at least 4 people in the two bedrooms, as well as the aforementioned sofa beds in the living room. We've had people have a good time with 5-6 people.

On the exterior, there is a front porch with 2 rocking chairs and a gas grill to enjoy with the family. The back of the cabin features an upper and lower porch, each with adequate seating (chairs, tables, swings) for everyone visiting! A portable outside fireplace is available upon request.

There are many rental log cabins in this area, but this one is noticeable different from the rest due to the immaculate construction, beautiful property, and ideal location. Your visit here will be a very, very different experience from any other rental in this area.

Gorgeous Mountain View’s, comfy clean cabin, felt like staying in a tree house" - "Every year my girls and I find a place in the Dandridge area to rent for our annual Girls Trip… and this will likely become our go-to place every year! The small cabin was absolutely perfect for the three of us - had everything we needed and the private dock was icing on the cake. The girls loved jumping in and kayaking every evening. Our favorite thing had to be the porch visits from the dogs - Lilly, Chloe, Kira and Shine and one of the cats, Alfie. Randy was incredibly helpful during our check in. During our stay, a severe storm came through with 80 mph winds and knocked power out to the property and the entire Dandridge area. Several trees were down around the cabin and on the driveway. Randy and his team were out there promptly removing the trees. He also came by with flash lights and lanterns and got a generator up and running to ensure we had water. In any other rental this would have been a nightmare situation, but Randy was on top of it. While we were without power for 12ish hours, it was hardly noticeable - we still had plenty of board games to play that came with the property and spent time on the lake. It was a perfect getaway and we can’t wait to come back next year."

This property is located on 17 beautiful wooded acres next to Douglas Lake, near Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Knoxville, TN.. It is owned by Mountain Lake Ranch, which has other buildings including the large and rustic Log Cabin Lodge with 8 bedrooms that sleeps up to 64 people. We also have the huge hotel style Main Lodge with 16 bedrooms that also sleeps up to 64. These venues are perfect for church groups & retreats, family reunions, anniversaries, birthday parties, etc.
The "Red Top" cabin, so called because of its' bright red roof, is located in our quiet campground that has lots of greenery. It is a one room cabin with full bathroom (tub/shower) and has a Queen size bed as well as a full size hide-a-bed. There is also a crawl-in loft with a futon mattress and the loft is large enough for a couple of children, but not recommended for small ones. It is accessible by a ladder. The living area features a full size refrigerator, full size gas stove and oven as well as a microwave/convection oven. There is a TV with antenna, but no cable and the stations are limited. It is recommended that our guests bring DVDs for the player provided in order to watch TV. The cabin is air conditioned/heated.

This tiny log cabin has private lake access with a small kayak dock. Soak in the hot tub to start your dayUnfortunately, it is not large enough to dock a boat, but you can use the Douglas Lake Marina, about 10 minutes away, to launch your boat. There is one small kayak provided but feel free to bring your own. We do not provide life jackets. Please understand this rental is for couples only and maybe one small child, but not 3 adults. Excellent fishing, and is located just south of Dandridge (10 mins). Sevierville is 20 mins, Pigeon Forge is 30 mins, and Gatlinburg is 45 mins. You have the ability to be close to all the attractions without the hustle and bustle of staying in the city. The cabin is the last house in the cove, so there is very little boat traffic to interfere with your stay. It is attached to a larger home that sleeps 10, if you need room for a reunion, etc. The properties are separated by a 6 ft privacy fence. The lake is a TVA lake, so there is water from Memorial Day until late September ONLY. After that, there is NO WATER. Please see the pictures! There is still lots to do even out of season. This is a great getaway location for a relaxing long weekend or vacation for 2. The small floating dock set up for a kayak or canoe, is just a few steps below the cabin. H2O Watersports is about 1/2 mile up the road for anyone who wants to rent boats or jet skis.

Our house and cabin property are located on a small farm with a private gated driveway. We have one rental cabin located in the woods and privacy is our forte. Nestled about 3 minutes behind our main house, the cabin is only accessible by golf cart, which is provided. We DO NOT ALLOW any vehicles in the cabin area. The cabin is located in an area that is part of our cattle farm and home for a lot of wildlife; turkey, bear, coyotes and other native critters passing through.

We have an above ground swimming pool located at our main house. We offer it for guests use the beginning of June through the end of August.

We are 20 minutes from Sevierville/Pigeon Forge. We go to Pigeon Forge and even Gatlinburg for a day/evening out. The drive going on Hwy 411 from our place to Sevierville is very picturesque with mountain/valley views. We are 8 minutes from Douglas Lake boat launch and 5 minutes from boat/jet ski rentals for Douglas Lake.

Our cabin is a very primitive style tiny cabin with modern amenities. It is a small 2 story with living area and full kitchen downstairs and bed/bath loft area upstairs. It has 1 full size bed and will accommodate 2 people. The upstairs loft is an open area with the bed on one end and full bath on the other end, with low ceilings. The bed is an antique high-side bed. You will need to be able to climb stairs to the bed/bath loft area. It has both front and back porches to enjoy the privacy and quiet time in the woods. It has a fire pit in the back which uses wood (we provide the cut wood) and a place to cook over the fire. We also have a grill if you prefer to cook on a grill.

Bed linens, bath towels/wash cloths/kitchen towels, toilet tissue, and kitchen paper towels are provided. Kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, dishes, silverware and glassware, just bring your food. Basic coffee supplies/coffee pods and a Keurig coffee maker are provided. We also have a small bread toaster.

We cannot allow more than 2 guests at a time due to the small size of our cabin. When you arrive, you will find that we want you to feel at home on our farm. We love our private property and are looking forward to sharing it with you!

This is a "Do It Yourself" Retreat Center which means that our guests provide their own sheets or sleeping bags, pillows, towels and washcloths. The bed sizes are listed for your information.
The Main Lodge has 16 hotel style rooms and can sleep up to 64. Each room has Wifi and a Smart TV It is perfect for large groups like wedding parties, church events & retreats, family reunions, anniversaries, birthday parties, etc. The lodge is located away from the hustle and bustle of town and is a short walk to Douglas Lake. Due to it's remote location, it offers guests the opportunity to go for walks, fishing, swimming, bird watching, etc. The lodge has porches outside of each room and a large covered back porch where people can relax, read a book, or just enjoy the quiet beauty of nature. Inside each room is a heating and air unit that is adjustable by room, WIFI and a Smart TV. Of the 16 rooms, there are 8 on the first floor, (7 with two full size beds per room, 1 with wheelchair accessible bathroom and 2 Queen Beds.) 8 on the second floor. (6 with 2 queen beds per room, 1 with two Queens and 2 Twins, and 1 with One Queen Bed.) All rooms have bathrooms with shower.

There is a fellowship hall that can seat up to 60 people. It also has a men's and women's bathroom. If a group would like to have an outdoor activity like an outdoor wedding, there is a large grassy area that can accommodate around 200 people in front of the building. In addition, there is a large kitchen for the group to cook all of their meals. The kitchen includes 2 stoves, 2 ovens, 2 refrigerators, 1 large double sink, and a serving area. This is a smoke free and alcohol free facility.

- "My family of 50 - including my 8 siblings and all our children and grandchildren enjoyed our week-long vacation at the retreat center and Smoky Mountains. We loved the house having private rooms and bathrooms, the extra bathrooms by the kitchen, the grounds where we played kickball and volleyball and water balloon fight and more! We spent lots of time at the outdoor chess game. We didn't love the size of the showers, and that wifi reception wasn't always good. We felt the owners did a good job of representing the place, we knew what to expect. And they were very responsive to the needs that came up. One thing unexpected and SO nice to have... the pictures don't really show that between the kitchen and fellowship hall there's another room with carpet that was our grand central station. We set up tables in there for coffee bar, snacks, a puzzle, and drink coolers, in addition to having the serving bar for meals and a fridge and chest freezer. I'd suggest the owners add a floorplan to the description, which would help people looking to realize what a gem this place is. And huge! We cooked 3 meals a day in the kitchen and had no problems... plenty of room for people, our stuff, and refrigeration and separate freezer space. Overall, an excellent stay. This beautifully decorated Park Model Cabin with a hot tub, sits right on gorgeous Douglas Lake. With a beautiful porch, Smart TV, gas grill, zero gravity chairs and fire pit just steps away from the shoreline, you may not want to leave!

This home comfortably sleeps 6 people. It has two fully appointed bedrooms with full-size beds in each, a full bathroom with a bathtub/shower combo, a shared kitchenette and living room area with a pull-out sofa that sleeps two. We have thought of all the details to make this a perfect vacation spot for those wanting to relax, take a boat out, or fish. Gatlinburg, Dollywood and Pigeon Forge are about a 30-minute drive away.

We do have a full-service marina with boat launch, store, docks and wet-slips onsite as well as The Millstone Restaurant, which is a must when visiting!

All linens, towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, kitchen utensils, pots, pans, etc. are provided. This is definitely a beautiful little home away from home!

Fishing is permitted from the banks. You can bring your own boat or you can rent a pontoon, golf cart, paddleboard or a kayak from us. Smoking is only permitted outside of the rentals. We sell fishing licenses, bait, snacks, drinks and apparel at our Marina Store located at the end of the long dock.

The Log Cabin Lodge has 8 rooms that sleep up to 64 total guests. It is perfect for youth groups, church events & retreats and family reunions (IF MOSTLY YOUNGER FOLKS). I do not recommend it for average families who have several elderly folks among their group. The rooms are rustic with 2 sets of twin bunk beds in the lofts and on the main floor there is a queen size bed and another set of twin bunks. The sleeping areas are not roomy and bright like the Main Lodge which is motel style. It is located away from the hustle and bustle of town and it is less than 400 yards from the lake. Due to it's remote location, it offers guests the opportunity to go for walks, fishing, swimming, bird watching, etc. The Log Cabin Lodge has a large front porch where people can relax, read a book or just enjoy the quiet beauty of nature. Inside each room there is a heating and air unit that is adjustable by room, a ceiling fan, 1 full bathroom, 1 queen size bed and 1 twin size bunk bed on the lower level, and 2 bunk beds in the loft area. This setup allows for up to 8 people per room.

There is a fellowship hall that can seat up to 100 people. It also has a men's and women's bathroom. There is a large outdoor grassy area for playing games, etc. In addition, there is a large kitchen for the group to cook all of their meals. The kitchen includes 2 stoves, 2 ovens, 2 refrigerators, 1 large triple sink, and a serving table. This is not a commercial kitchen.
This is an alcohol-free and smoke free facility.

This cozy two bedroom one bath cabin is named "The Fisherman Cabin" because for over 50 years we have had generations of fishermen stay in this one! Each bedroom has 2 queen beds, there is a fully stocked kitchen, a living room area, a bathroom and a screened in porch on the back for relaxing and listening to the crickets in the evenings.

This rental has a gas grill, fire pit, smart TV's in all rooms and on the porch, free wifi (no password needed), a launch ramp, fully stocked store and restaurant on-site! We also offer boat and golf cart rentals onsite as well!

Fishing is allowed from the banks surrounding the marina! We are located about 30-35 minutes from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and are located about a mile off of I-40.

There is a queen bed in the bedroom, a kitchenette with stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, dishes, dining table with two chairs, two TVs, linens, and a private bathroom with shower/tub. This cabin also offers a nice lake view during the season. Perfect for a group or family of four! This is a duplex. There is a studio cabin attached. Both have private entrances.

This cozy cabin is perfect for a couple looking to escape the hustle and bustle but still be close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge if you want to ride over for the day or evening.

This is an open concept unit with a beautiful wall separating the bedroom area from the living room area. There are TV's built in both sides of the wall so you can watch television from either area.

This cabin does have Wi-Fi and we have sling on both TV's. You can also login to your favorite streaming platform while visiting.

There is a dedicated workspace, a full bathroom stocked with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, towels and paper products.

In the kitchenette area you will find plates, utensils, silverware, cups, coffee maker, mini fridge, toaster over, pots, a 2 burner stove top and a spice rack.

This unit is located on Douglas Lake at Swann' s Marina and Campground. We have a full service marina with a boat launch, store, fishing and amazing restaurant onsite for those evenings you do not feel like cooking. We also offer pontoon and jon boat rentals as well as Kayak rentals.

We are located about 1 mile off of I-40 and within a 30-35 minute drive of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Also about 15 minutes from the new Bu-Cee's!

- "The boys loved the basement & it was so nice to have them downstairs! We fished and swam. The driveway might scare some but my buick enclave handled it well. My friends little car did great too. The view is beautiful ♡ the deive is beautiful also. We had 7 people and were not crowded at all" - "My husband, son(12), daughter(7) and myself had the most relaxing 5 days at this 2 bedroom, 2-1/2 bath cabin with a fully furnished basement. The long and winding road to the cabin is so serine and filled with native wildlife. Coming down to the cabin is a steep rock driveway, but nothing our SUV couldn’t handle. (I can see why 4 wheel drive is needed during the winter months.) Once you see the cabin it seems a bit small, compared to the grand view, but don’t let that fool you. Entering the keyless door into the cabin was a breeze. Then when your eyes see the first set of large French doors you are automatically drawn into the most cozy living room that faces the lake. The kitchen is ready to cook in and we even enjoyed the outdoor barbecue pit for some meals. The bedrooms and bathrooms had fresh linens and toilet paper. While my husband and I enjoyed the 1st level of the cabin the downstairs basement was a hit for our kiddos. They enjoyed having “their own part of the cabin” which is fully updated and clean. There is a set of bunk beds (top twin, bottom full) that my kiddos slept in. The full size bathroom with standing shower was wonderful, especially after coming in off the lake(fish, swim, kayak). A kitchenette with a sink and a full size fridge is also available in the basement, my kids loved having their own snacks available to them. It is owned by Mountain Lake Ranch Group Resort, which has other buildings including a huge log cabin lodge with 8 bedrooms that sleeps up to 64, a hotel with 16 rooms that sleeps up to 64. The Little Cabin is away from the hustle and bustle of town and it is less than 400 yards from the lake. It is a great place to go for walks, fish, swim, or bird watch. Inside there is 1 queen sized bed on the lower level and a Full size futon mattress in the loft (small crawl space really only suitable mattress for kids), 1 bathroom, and a small functional kitchen. This beautifully decorated studio cabin includes 1 double/full bed, kitchenette with stove, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, dishes, linens, living area with couch, 2 televisions, and a private bathroom with shower and tub.

The cabin has been completely remodeled on the inside and the rustic woodwork is impeccable! Perfect for a couple and located on the beautiful property of Swann's Marina and Campground.

This is a duplex. There is a studio cabin attached with private entrances.

The space

The Honeymoon Cabin is located on the right side of our duplex to Life on the Docks.
The rental is set up as a studio-type room, open concept.
As soon as you walk in, to the right is a couch. Then you have a TV wall dividing the living area and bedroom area. The bed is a full size bed.
WiFi is “swannsguest” and a password is not needed.
To the left as you walk in is the fully stocked bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, towels, rags, hand towels, and toilet paper. Please only flush toilet paper. Do NOT flush any type of flushable wipe, feminine product, etc.
To the far left is your kitchen area. It has everything you could need to cook. Plates, utensils, silverware, cups, coffee maker, mini fridge, toaster oven, pots, a 2 burner stove top, and a spice rack.
Located outside of the cabin as you walk in, is a gas grill for use, a few chairs, and an ashtray if you are a smoker. We do NOT allow smoking in the cabin. If you are a smoker, please use the ashtray and do not throw on the ground.
There is a remote attached to the wall under the TV that controls the heat/ac.
Upon departure, please make sure heat/ac is set at 72 degrees during the summer and 68 degrees during the winter. Empty all trash and take to dumpster. They are located at the bathhouse and behind the Millstone restaurant located on-site. Place all dirty, towels, rags, etc in the laundry bag and leave in the bathroom.

This completely remodeled and beautifully decorated cabin features two twin/sofa pull out beds that can also be used as recliners, a queen bed in the bedroom, a kitchenette with stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, dishes, dining table with chairs, two TVs, linens, and a private bathroom with shower/tub. This cabin also offers a nice lake view during the season. Perfect for a group or family of four! This is a duplex. There is a studio cabin attached. Both have private entrances.

This cabin features on bedroom with a queen bed. In the living area, there are two over-sized chairs that pull out into a bed. There are extra pillows and sheets located in the black storage cube in the corner by the over-sized chairs.
As you go into the cabin, your kitchen is on the right side. It has a full size stove/oven, microwave, and full-size fridge. It comes equipped with all you should need. Plates, cups, bowls, utensils, silverware, pot, pans, dish soap, and hand soap.
To the left of the kitchen is a dining table with four chairs and your seating area with a TV as well.
The bathroom is on the left side just past the kitchen table. It comes stocked with towels, rags, hand towels, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. There is a laundry bag to put all dirty towels. This must be done before checking out. Please do not dispose of any paper towels, flushable wipes, and feminine products down the toilet. A trash can is provided.
The far left is where the bedroom is located with a TV. WiFi is “swannsguest” and a password is not needed.
Located just outside the front door is a gas grill, two chairs, and a picnic table. We do not allowing smoking in the rental. If you are a smoker, please smoke outside. There is an ashtray so please be mindful and do not throw in the yard.
Upon departure, please make sure all towels are in the laundry bag and gather all trash and take to the dumpster. There are dumpsters located by the bath house and behind the Millstone Restaurant on-site.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. A small primitive cabin built on our 60 acre farm is the perfect place. It sits alone in our back wooded area and is very private.
It is approximately 30 minutes from many tourist attractions in the Smoky Mountain/Gatlinburg area and is 5 minutes from Douglas Lake rental companies for boating or water sports.
It's a tiny cabin with living room/kitchen downstairs. Upstairs is a low ceiling loft with bed/bathroom. Front/back porches and fire pit.

The space
Our property is a small farm. We have a few horses and cattle along with peacocks, chickens and guineas.

Guest access
We have an above ground pool located at the end of our house. Our guests can use it whenever they want to. It is open from June 1st through the end of September.

Relax your cares away while enjoying the hot tub, firepit, a game of cornhole or just rocking on the front porch while watching the deer or the cows on the farm next door. This little cabin is nestled in the woods at the end of a street in a country setting. There is a playground for the kids too. On a rainy day you can enjoy the many games provided or sit and play checkers. There's a 10 in 1 gaming table and wifi with smart TVs. Enjoy dinner on the deck after cooking out on the park grill.

"Little Fishing Bear"
This cozy cabin right on Douglas Lake is a one bedroom, one bath cabin is best suited for lake-loving couples or small families who want a relaxing place to fish, boat, or swim. Great for those who want to go to the less visited areas of the Smoky Mountains, but close enough to all the action of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Peaceful, relaxing scenery and stunning views! No steep mountainous roads!

The space
The main living area is located on the second floor of the house over the garage (for owner’s use only) and is accessed by an entry door facing the lake. It is a cozy, one room open area with smart TV, Roku, and DVR, comfortable seating, and a porch facing the lake with gorgeous panoramic views of the lake. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need, except a dishwasher, and there is also free internet access and a Keurig. The bedroom is the other main room of the cabin and it features both full-sized and queen-sized beds. The bathroom has a 4’ shower. Starter soaps and paper products are provided. In addition, the cabin is pet-free in order to accommodate anyone with allergies.

Guest access
Easy keypad access to ground level entry, then up stairs to second floor cabin. Outside, we advise you to use the paved drive to access steps to the lake. (There is also a stone path to the lake's edge.) The shared dock has plenty of room for any watercraft you may want to bring or rent. You are invited to use a fire pit and gazebo at the neighboring house ( Little Fishing Bear’s owners live here) for picnics, making s’mores, watching sunsets, or just hanging out. Please note that we have rare occasional visits by foxes and bears. Outdoor security cameras are focused on driveways and stairs to the lake and firepit. (e.g. that is how we see a bear...maybe twice a year.)

Other things to note
This cabin is located near Marker D on Muddy Creek and there is a community boat ramp (limited summer accessibility) for your use. Douglas Lake levels fluctuate greatly from winter to summer. We have Wifi but cannot guarantee speed and reliability. (Due to our rural location and being set low in a hollow beside a hill, we do not always get a consistent signal.) While here be sure to visit Bush Beans Museum and Café or Forbidden Caverns. We are 20 minutes to Dollywood and Pigeon Forge, and you can be inside the Great Smoky Mountains in about 45 minutes.

Upon entering the Cabin, you will find a gas grill and a few chairs if you would like to grill out. If you are a smoker, please smoke outside. An ashtray is provided there or on the screened in porch at the back of the rental.
As you go into the cabin, the light switch is to your right. In that area to the right is your fully stocked kitchen. Stove/oven, Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, silverware, utensils, plates, cups, bowls, dish soap, and hand soap.
In the middle of the cabin is a small sectional couch with TV and the bathroom is just past the kitchen on the right. The bathroom comes fully stocked with towels, hand towels, rags, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and hand soap. A laundry bag is provided to put your dirty towels in. Please do not flush any flushable wipes, paper towels, or feminine products down the toilet. A trash can is provided.
The left side of the cabin has 2 bedrooms. Each room has two full size beds and TVs in each room. WiFi is “swannsguest” and does not require a password. Located outside the bedroom doors are remotes for each room to control the heat/ac.
At the back of the house is a nice sized screened in porch with a seating area and a TV as well.
Upon departure, please put all dirty towels, rags, etc in the laundry bag provided and put in the bathroom. Please take all trash to one of the dumpsters on the property. They are located at the bath house and behind the Millstone Restaurant on-site.

Privately tucked away in a 3 acre wooded hollow, is a place like no other. Driving in, the three story, fully functioning, authentic 1798 grist mill will greet, charm & fascinate. Note: Mill is not open to the public so you will have the property all to yourselves during your stay.

This property has been an iron forge, foundry; and a mill (for locals and moonshiners alike) for the past 222 years. The cabin, hidden behind the mill, was built much sooner as a private residence. This property is now, for the first time in history, available for you to enjoy. By staying here you will also be contributing to the preservation and upkeep of this wonderful piece of history for future generations.

Hidden behind the mill is the cabin. Newly furnished throughout. King & queen bedrooms upstairs, a newly remodeled bathroom downstairs, quaint kitchen, living room & hidden laundry.

If it couldn’t get any better than this, sit on one of the front porch rockers or swing and be relaxed by your own private cascading creek! Historic Dumplin Creek runs right through the middle of the property, has a 5ft deep swimming hole and is even known to have a fish or two. If you’re lucky, you might get a rare sighting of our resident family of six otters playing & diving for fish in the creek. Explore the trail behind the cabin (at your own risk) where the old mill race runs, all the way to the sluice gate and dam, which is also part of this enchanting property.

Cook out on the grill, picnic, or roast marshmallows on the fire pit, all creek side.

Living away from it all, you may feel like Davy Crockett, and keep in mind that you are only a few minutes away from the second oldest town in Tennessee, one of the most scenic (& best fishing) lakes around and within a short drive to Pigeon Forge and The Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

With nature abounding, history and all the attractions that the area has to offer, what could be better? You can be one of the first to find out, but be forewarned, you may not want to leave.

For stays longer than 10 days, we do require that guests dispose of their own garbage. There is a garbage convenience center located 2 miles from the cabin on Deep Springs Road.

☀Is this property handicap accessible?
➜ This property is not ADA compliant. There are 2 steps required to enter the property. However, there are two bedrooms & a full bathroom located on the main level. Additionally you can drive and park near the lower level which have access without steps.

☀ Do you need to bring your own linens?
➜ No, no and absolutely not! We will provide sheets, towels, washcloths, etc so that you can fill your bags with more exciting things!

☀ What other amenities do you provide?
➜ We provide full bottles of soap, shampoo and conditioner in every bathroom. We also provide ample trash bags for the kitchen & bathrooms. Additionally, we provide a starter set of the following items that you might want to bring or purchase extra, depending on your length of stay: Toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher pods, & laundry pods.
➜ For coffee lovers: the home has a traditional drip coffee maker with filters in the drawer right below, 2 keurigs (one upstairs and one downstairs) and a French press☕️

☀ Where can I rent a boat?
Several locations to rent paddleboards and other various boats and jet skis are nearby. The closest is H2O Water sports, just down the street from home.

☀ Can I dock my boat at the house?
If you would like to bring your own boat, there are several places it can be put in the water within 10 minutes of the home, and can be secured to our dock for the entirety of your stay.

☀ Is there good fishing nearby?
Yes! Douglas lake has almost 600 miles of shoreline and is rated one of the best bass fishing lakes in the Country.

Important Notes:
Dock is a lovely walk down a winding path in the backyard some people choose to rent an Atv/UTV/Golf cart to make it quick and easy to get down to the lake (easily rentable from Good Ole Boys nearby they drop off at the house)

The lake lowers in the Winter months, it varies due to precipitation and according to the TVA controls. Water typically begins filling in March in our cove. However this is TVA controlled and we cannot make promises on water levels. Check the TVA site for current and expected conditions by time of year.

Our close cabin is immersed in nature which most love! However, this means there is lots of wildlife in our area - black bears, deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, coyotes, fox, and more! You may get lucky and catch a glimpse of one of these residents while enjoying the view. We also contract regular monthly pest services which treat for all pests from multiple types of bugs, mice, etc. Despite our regular treatments, given the our wooded location, it is possible these pests can temporarily enter the cabin. We immediately respond and treat if anything comes up and have found it is rare to come across anything like this.

-The cabin is located on a mountain road. We strongly recommend trip insurance, especially during the Winter since there are no refunds for weather, power outages, or snow and ice. This is a small, yet stunningly beautiful authentic log home on a 40-acre estate on the shores of Douglas Lake in a primary location. It is the guest house for the estate, and there is a larger main house that is also available for short term rentals. Both booked together make a wonderful vacation!

The cabin feels as if you are off in a peaceful world by yourself. It is at the end of a peninsula with a half-mile driveway away from the nearest road and surrounded by a 28,000-acre lake.

The space
The cabin itself is 18x24 feet, but there are three floors. The top floor is a master bedroom suite with a queen bed and a private bathroom with a shower, but no tub. The middle floor has a kitchen and dining area on one end, a fireplace in the middle, and a living room on the other side of the fireplace. The living room features two comfortable sofa beds that can sleep 1-2 people each. The ground floor has a queen bed with a private bathroom and an old Victorian-style copper tub.

The space
A serene covered front porch offers a warm and welcome greeting as you step inside the brightly lit open concept layout. Organic materials blend with luxury finishes to compose this artful home beginning with a stacked stone gas fireplace in the living room with solid cedar mantle. The living room couch turns into a full-size pullout bed. All TV’s in the home have Roku for all of your favorite streaming services.

The remodeled dine-in kitchen is perfect for meal preparation or enjoying breakfast with the family.

Down the hall is a cozy bedroom with queen bed, and across the hall is a full bathroom with custom tiled shower. This floor also hosts a laundry room.

Upstairs whisks you away to the master bedroom with king bed, sitting area with Roku TV, and a private balcony which offers a sanctuary for personal relaxation and care.

The upstairs bathroom is custom fitted with a live edge countertop with wood look ceramic tiled shower, and pebble tiled floor topped off with a one-of-a-kind wooden soaker tub!

A loft overlooking the living room is the perfect hangout for the kids and is complete with two twin beds, a gaming multicade, and table for games or card night.

The property does have space for a boat trailer and when the water is up you can tie off your boat to the dock.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- The Tennessee Valley Authority controls the water levels of Douglas Lake. Our cove will have water from early May through late September.
- The two twin beds denoted as a 3rd bedroom are in an L-shaped loft above the living room so please keep in mind that it is not a closed off room.
