We rented this cabin to be able to hike at the nearby Matanuska Glacier, which was my favorite activity in Alaska. Our guide on the glacier was wonderful & aware of everyone’s hiking ability. This cabin has all the necessary appliances in the kitchen and has beautiful views of the lake from almost every room in the cabin. The living room has an oversized leather chair that is extremely comfortable and a matching couch that is beyond comfortable. The bathroom is clean and functional. The reviewer who said to be sure and stock up on groceries, and gas was correct. We stopped at the one general store on Glenn Highway coming from Palmer. There were a few dry goods, such as macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes, but that was about it. We asked the cashier about gas stations traveling east, and she told us to turn around and go back to the one that we passed a few miles down the road. The owners live across the driveway, so you are expected to follow the rules and be respectful. I wish I had gotten there just a little bit earlier to have seen the trumpeter swan and her five babies on the beautiful lake in the back. I hope Roxanne has only respectful renters who are there to enjoy the splendor and magnificence of Alaska —in summer, not sure I have hutzpah to face winter."

The house numbers along the way were too small to see very well and made it difficult to tell where we were. Cell phone navigation got us close but didn't give correct directions to driveway. This quaint log home was built in Palmer, Alaska in 1950.

The log home sits on a large, landscaped yard with stunning views of Pioneer Peak and the Butte. The quiet peaceful setting along Bodenburg Creek provides a relaxing stay. If privacy is what you want, this is the place for you. The large yard is surrounded by trees, giving you the privacy you desire. The property is bordered by the creek on one side, watch for salmon headed to the spawning grounds beginning mid-August.

*You can hear the Alaska Raceway Park from the home. They run some weekdays and most weekends throughout the summer May-September.

The Glacier Breeze cabin is a 280 sq ft open floor plan tiny cabin that is delightfully set up for a comfortable stay for up to two people. Perfect for a romantic getaway, an adventure home base, a quiet escape from the hustle of town or even make it all of the above! Ted Stevens airport is only a one hour beautiful drive away, making the cabin a great destination to start or end your trip to get a great nights sleep while getting that first, or final, taste of tranquil Alaskan surroundings. Traveling solo? Our solo guests have said that they were able to let go of the anxiety and feel safe and comfortable while staying in the cabin.
With a wide assortment of year round activities in the area, the cabin is an excellent choice for a place to recharge after having the adrenaline pumping all day. The experience at the Glacier Breeze is so unique, that it’s even become a popular place for locals to come get away and enjoy the Alaskan beauty at some of it's best!

Without having to worry about being surprised by cleaning fees and checkout chores, you can already start to relax! We have no cleaning fee and the only thing we ask at check out is to make sure you have your stuff and to put the heat on low if it’s freezing out. It’s you that’s here on vacation, not us!

What’s the cabin have to offer you? It may be a tiny cabin, but it’s loaded with comforts and hand crafted details!

The open floor plan living area has a comfortable love seat with entertainment provided via a TV loaded with several streaming services. If you would prefer some auditory entertainment, an Alexa speaker is waiting for your request for the soothing tunes of your choice to further enhance the already relaxing atmosphere. Should you prefer to just unplug from the outside world you can choose from assorted board games or Alaskan themed books to chill out with.

A wood stove will keep you toasty through the chilly Alaskan nights , we will be glad to explain how to use it, should you not be familiar with operating one. Firewood is supplied between September and April and is typically available for purchase May - August.

The full size hand built memory foam Murphy bed is layered in soft, hypoallergenic and sustainably sourced bamboo sheets topped by a warm down alternative comforter. Add in the crackling sound of the wood slowly burning in the stove and you will for sure get a great nights sleep!
Blackout blinds are installed on the windows for those not so dark summer Alaskan nights.

The amply equipped kitchen includes a stove, full size refrigerator, toaster, blender, crock pot, pans and the utensils you need to prepare your favorite meals. Craving a coffee or other hot beverage fix? We have you covered with the choice of a drip pot, Kureg or French press with an assortment of coffee and tea, featuring locally sourced samples. If you need something that’s not on hand, let us know and we may have it to bring out to the cabin for you to use. Not up to cooking? We would be glad to recommend a local restaurant depending on what you may be in the mood for. The Palmer area has some great locally owned restaurants, many that serve locally sourced foods. It might surprise you what is produced here in the Matsu Valley!

The private bathroom features a tub/shower combo with body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided.

Fast 50mb Wifi is provided for your entertainment and work needs.

Bear spray and bug spray are also supplied to help keep some of the more aggressive residents at bay while out exploring the area. Please do let us know if you use the bear spray so we can replace it with a new one for the next guests, and we aren’t going to lie, we would want to hear the story!

Welcome to the Fireweed Cabin. We are 60 min from anchorage, and 15 minutes from Palmer. In Palmer you will find local gift shops, delicious food, Alaskan history, and the Alaska State Fair! A 15 min drive will put you in beautiful Hatcher Pass recreation area! This location is perfect for hiking, biking, skiing, snow machining, sight seeing, or a road trip through the mountains. The Fireweed Cabin is the perfect base for Alaskan adventures and travels.

The Space:
Tucked away on the back side of our 5 acres in a sprawling quiet neighborhood is our Fireweed Cabin. Upstairs there is 1 queen bed and a loveseat to take a nap or relax. Or with the FAST WIFI, you can stream your favorite show on the 50" Roku tv. Downstairs there is a sofa bed that opens into a single bed. There is a small dining table for 3, a fully equipped kitchen with olive oil, some needed spices, misc. snacks, K-cup coffee machine, and a full bathroom with a bathtub/shower with shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. There is a Front load washer/dryer with laundry soap and dryer sheets downstairs.

Guest access:
You have access to the entire guesthouse with a private entrance. There is a small grass yard, a charcoal barbecue grill, a low smoke fire pit,( we supply some wood and fire starter)and an outside table and chairs. Plenty of free parking. We also live on the property.

This quaint cabin has a style all its own is centered in the middle of 40 acres of wilderness. You will fall in love with this quiet, peaceful beautiful spot close to Hatcher Pass and Government Peak.

Come and Enjoy the peaceful cabin in the woods. There is a plenty of grassy areas to play yard games or have a great grill out. There is also a huge fire pit for you to enjoy the evenings with glass of wine or making marshmallows.

Guests have access to the whole cabin and grass area in front and back of the cabin.

We live down the road from the cabin but stay to ourselves unless you need anything.

There is one way in to the property and one way out on Byron’s way. There is plenty of parking for your vehicles.

There is an old shed and a old truck on the property that is off limits to guests.

- "This is a wonderful place to stay near Hatchers Pass and the Little Susitna. You can hear the river from the cabin. It is clean, cozy, & perfect for some relaxation in nature." - "This cabin is so cute and the location is perfect for sightseeing. Stunning Hatcher Pass is close by as are a variety of other sites. Palmer and Wasilla are a short drive. You pass the Little Susitna near the entrance lane and from the cabin you can see mountains and moose! Love having laundry facilities onsite, the bedroom is spacious and pretty, and the bathroom was great. Communications were easy, too. Would definitely return!!"

Come and sleep in the trees in Alaska! This cabin is a free standing treehouse (up in the trees but not attached to the trees). It has a kitchenette area and 2 bathrooms (one with a shower). It offers a king size bed on the 2nd floor and a full size bed on the first floor that rests on the floor under the stairs.
The Treehouse is accessible by a series of ramps, bridges and platforms. There is also a slide exit from inside the Treehouse to one of the lower platforms for those adventurous enough to give it a try. The access to the Treehouse does not include stairs but the interior of the Treehouse does have stairs. Those with mobility issues may find it difficult to get around.
One of the platforms has a barbecue grill.
There is also a fire pit for the exclusive use of our Treehouse guests.
We are family friendly and love kids of all ages.
Seasonal Caution - Although we are open year round and love to have guests in all seasons, there are two times of year when the weather is changing and the rain that comes with the weather changes often creates water and mud in the yard. We have built walkways that will take you up to the Treehouse without having to walk through the mud but just be aware that during "Breakup" from late March to mid May, the trees do not have their leaves, there will be debris from the Winter wind storms and the flowers will not be planted/blooming. You will be able to see our neighbors yards and they will be in the same shape as ours after a long, windy, wild winter! The other shoulder season is Fall and although the gorgeous colors of the falling leaves and the new snow on the mountains are so beautiful, the rain that comes in the Fall before the snow falls also creates mud and water and sometimes slippery
surfaces. Our Fall is from late August to mid-October.

We love having guests visit us in all seasons from the midnight sun of Summer to the cozy snowy nights of winter and although the Treehouse is always cozy, quiet and oh, so comfy, just be aware that during the shoulder seasons, our yard is not as beautiful as it is in the Summer and Winter Seasons.

A petite cabin with ladder loft. Perfect for skiers or a young couple/small family looking for a little time away. There is a washer/dryer, kitchen with oven, dining table and bathroom downstairs. Climbing the ladder going up to the loft, is a king size bed and 50 inch Roku tv. Feel free to adjust the dining table and seats to accommodate your needs, please be mindful of damage and return to the original arrangement. Though everything is small scale, this cabin is quite cozy and is a great place to stay if you’re comfortable climbing a ladder. We have high speed WiFi and natural gas heating.

The property is 5 acres on an air strip with four other cabins. There is a public fire pit with plenty of seating and BBQ pit with benches, which you’re free to use. We also have berry plants and fresh veggies in the garden during the summer to snack on and use for meals and drinks. In the winter it’s highly likely to experience the northern lights on the property! which are wonderful to view from the airstrip that is accessible from the property or a 10 minute drive to Hatcher pass.

Ceiling fan in front bedroom does not operate unless the light is on. Battery in remote was dead. Could not get the gas logs to operate. Limited glassware in kitchen. Also lacking in pots and pans. With a little attention this could be a much nicer place to stay." - "Property was listed with sleep for one had to sleep on a twin bed and one had to sleep on a fold out bed the beds all beds need to be upgraded. The linens need to be upgraded all the trash cans were overflowing get the code to the house till 7 o’clock at night."

Nestled at the base of the Government Peak Recreation Area, this vacation rental is just 20 minutes from Palmer, Alaska and 1.25 hours from Anchorage. Views of the Chugach Mountains abound from a privately accessed cabin deck. Two queen beds in single room cabin with private bath/shower and in-room laundry.. In the winter/spring ski trails are accessible out the back door. Summer/fall guests can enjoy nearby hiking and biking trails.

There are three cabins on the property all with scenic mountain views. There is very little road noise but you may hear other people out enjoying the trails during the day.

Three cabins on site with plenty of parking. Cabin #3 requires that you walk down the gravel driveway and pathway for about 20 yards. This makes the cabin the most secluded- enjoy the view from the deck.
Guest access
You can park close to the cabin but not right at the front door. Be prepared to walk in snow in the winter season and on a gravel lined pathway in the summer/spring months.

Brand new MOOSE CHALET at Majestic Valley Wilderness Lodge! This beautiful log cabin has 4 bedrooms and bathrooms. Enjoy the luxurious common area and a deck with an amazing view. There is no kitchen in the Chalet, but it does have a microwave, two mini refrigerators, and a coffee maker.
The main lodge on property is closed for the season with no restaurant or bar available. One restaurant remains open in the area - Long Rifle Lodge, however it closes at 6:30PM sharp.
