The main living area has satellite TV, WiFi high speed Internet, a DVD player, and Sonos® sound system. There is a fireplace in the main area, and a wood burning stove in the master sitting area. Each has a cozy love seat to curl up on in front of the fire.

Use the kitchen’s full selection of chef’s quality pots, pans, and utensils on the antique gas stove to create your culinary delights. An assortment of baking dishes, serving, and storage bowls complete preparation. There are all the standard appliances: refrigerator / freezer, microwave, blender, toaster, and drip coffee maker. And, small / large plates, bowls, mugs, flatware, water, rocks and wine glasses, round out service and seating for up to six. The outdoor gas grill sits near the river with all the utensils for your BBQ.

The first bedroom, the master bedroom, has a queen bed, chest of drawers, closet and laptop desk with a private sitting area that has a wood burning stove. It also has a private half bath.

The second bedroom, the twin bedroom, has two twin beds, a chest of drawers and closet. There is an adjacent shared full bathroom with a shower / tub.

The third bedroom, satisfying either the desire for a little more privacy, or the need for more than four guests, is a (11′ x 11′, 121 sq ft) bunkhouse with a queen bed. The bunkhouse has electric and heat, but no bathroom. This private oasis sits only 30 feet from the cabin and steps from the water.

Parachute® brand percale sheets make up each bed to help hot sleepers stay cool at night. Down alternative comforters keep those who run cold, warm. Throws throughout the house warm cold toes. And Vornado® fans provide a breeze.

The property has a privacy fence and the water is the fourth boundary. There is parking for up to 3 cars. Dogs are the only pets allowed at the cabin for a $150 additional cleaning charge. Please let us know if you are bringing your furry friend, and understand pets are never allowed on furniture, beds, linens, etc.

The outdoor stove / fireplace is permanently no longer available for use due to county restrictions. The gas grill is always usable.

The cabin does not have Air Conditioning.

The owners were great with communication and helpful throughout our stay, and even had a pack 'n play set up for us on our arrival. One thing to know: The floor slopes subtly toward the back of the building, from about the middle of the living room on back. This is probably not really a big deal for most people, but I have issues with vertigo so it really messed with me. The rest of my family was absolutely fine. Just something to keep in mind if anyone in your group has problems with balance or vertigo/dizziness."

- "Nice, friendly, helpful hosts. Nice touch that there's spring water, snacks and board games. No air conditioning and in middle of a Colorado heat wave was a little warm. The night sky is a beautiful display of all the stars! We loved sitting on the balcony in the morning to enjoy the fresh, crisp morning air. There's a river right by the road that we enjoyed sitting by and took walks along the river as well! If possible, come during the day the first time so you see where you are going because it's in a remote place and very dark. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again."

All newer furniture and bedding (comfy mattresses and pillows). You can sit on the front or back deck of the house and hear the sounds of the Middle St Vrain River down below. The kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials you might need. We have some really cool yard games (giant connect four, plastic axe throwing, etc.), board games, a dart board, a foosball table, an arcade game, and good Wi-Fi for streaming or working remotely. Main bedroom is large with a queen size bed with wood burning fireplace and seating, smart tv, walk in closet with light up makeup vanity, and access to a private back patio. Bring your own firewood during the winter months if you would like to use the wood burning fireplace. Second sleeping area is a loft overlooking the living room with a queen bed and a large smart tv. The cabin is located on Riverside Drive in South St. Vrain Canyon and accessible via County maintained paved roads that are plowed regularly during the winter. It is approximately 15 minutes from downtown Lyons, 15 minutes to Allenspark, 30 minutes to Estes Park, 30 minutes to Boulder or Longmont, and 45 minutes to Eldora Ski area. It is also within a 15 minute drive to a very cute little town with a country store for essentials such as milk and eggs, gas, a couple restaurants, a liquor store, and a spring to refill water containers for free. We are near the Middle St. Vrain River with great fishing, hiking trails, off-roading trails, biking, etc. all close by. The town of Lyons is very cute with restaurants, ice cream shop, and lots of things to do throughout the year such as a huge blue grass music festival during the summer, tubing on the river, and a parade of lights in December. If you have any special requests just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. A four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is required from December through March in case of a heavy snow during your stay. No pets other than max of 2 dogs. Please mark if you are bringing a pet so the pet fee will be applied and we know about it. Fully fenced area (approximately 4 ft tall) on side yard wherefire pit seating and grill area are located, dog bowls, small kennel, and towel for paws.

Our expansive 2400 sq ft cabin is built into the hillside next to the Middle St. Vrain River. This former lodge (c. 1920) is historic, but has many modern amenities like fast Wifi, Verizon Cell Extender, Apple TV, etc.. You have your own entry, patio and yard. In late spring, summer and early fall have coffee on the front patio and listen to the roaring river. In the Fall, watch the Aspen trees turn bright colors. In the Winter, watch the snow gently fall while being cozy in front of the fire.
The rustic Riverside Mountain Lodge Retreat is the main level suite in a two suite lodge. The upper level suite is called the Riverside Lodge - Relaxation in a Historic Setting. Each suite has it's own private entrance. You can also book the entire property under the name Riverside Lodge - Upper and Lower Lodge Combined.
The closest small markets by car are in Ferncliff at 12 minutes away and downtown Lyons at 15 minutes away. You can find more amenities in Boulder, Longmont, Estes Park and Nederland each at around 30 minutes away. Boulder and Longmont are your best bets for big box stores, Estes Park and Nederland are smaller mountain towns, but have good sized grocery stores and other amenities.
The lodge is across the street from the river, but you can walk along the river on the road and access the river by the county owned bridges (one bridge is right by the lodge).
Parking - two cars are allowed as there is only two parking spaces for this suite on the property. Please park only on the gravel, on the right side of the concrete pad.
The rooms are side by side and accessed through french doors. There is a king sized bed in one room and a queen and twin sized bed in the other room. The bedrooms are accessed from the living room through custom built barn style sliding door.
The original wood floors and log built frame from 1920 is the part of the rustic charm of the Riverside Mountain Lodge Retreat. There are pictures, throughout the unit, showing how the space was used as a restaurant and gathering space for travelers and the local community. If you are looking for a more updated space though, look no further than the upper suite, named the Riverside Lodge - Relaxation in a Historic Setting.

LOCATION:
Nestled in the outskirts of Lyons, Colorado, just 11 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park (we are 6 miles southeast of Allenspark), the Riverside Cabin offers you the warmth of a classic, rustic log cabin with a beautiful mix of mid-century modern upgrades. Enjoy the beautiful Colorado sunsets from the swing on the wrap-around deck, from the hot tub, or through the cathedral, floor-to-ceiling windows of the living room overlooking the Saint Vrain Creek across the road from our cabin and the wooded mountainside. (The Riverside Cabin has a Lyons address but is 16 miles West-South.West of Lyons.)

This is a spectacular family home with incredible mountain views. It is fully equipped and immaculately maintained. It will sleep up to 7 in beds plus 2 more on the supplied blow-up queen-sized mattresses (x 2) if needed.

Our house is a superb mountain cabin home at an elevation of just under 8,000 feet. It features the perfect combination of mountain living and Front Range accessibility. The moment you drive in you will enjoy peace and tranquility - listening to the sounds of the river, enjoying the views and the fresh mountain air, as well as the wildlife that frequently comes through the property.

ACCESS:
The Riverside Cabin is situated off a very lightly traveled (and winter-cleared) paved road in a valley just off the Middle St Vrain Creek with a beautiful, wooded mountainside view. We are only minutes (9 miles) from the Rocky Mountain National Park. The town of Nederland is 20 miles south of us, Estes Park 22 miles north, and Lyons just 16 miles to the east. Enjoy the wildlife right off our deck, including moose, elk, deer, bear, coyotes, and others - but please remember not to approach or feed the animals. It is both dangerous and illegal in Colorado. :)

Guests have access to all parts of the house except for the owner's storage closet and the garage. The garage and all items in it are for the Owner's use only,

A keypad controls access to the cabin through the main entry door of the house. You will be given a unique code for your use.

- Like nearly every other mountain home in Colorado, there’s no A/C. However, mountain air blows down from the high peaks and provides a cooling effect in the evenings if you open the windows.
- Free Wi-Fi. We have the best internet service available in our (somewhat remote) location. Guests are able to stream movies and access Wi-Fi via multiple devices at once but please be aware that on occasion, if a significant number of devices are accessing the wifi simultaneously and demanding larger amounts of data throughput, there can be occasional connection and data transfer anomalies but this has been VERY rarely reported and the owners have not had any problems with this. A major challenge with a home like this is the large timber/log wood structure from which it is built.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT:
Due to the cleaning schedule, there will be no early check-ins or late checkouts. Check-in is 4 pm or later, and check-out is 10 am or earlier.

WILDLIFE:
Do not leave food in your vehicle as it may attract bears. Bears are able to break into cars.

Take a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park - only an 11-mile drive from the doorsteps of the Riverside Cabin. Enjoy a beautiful day hike from the Wild Basin Trailhead just 19 minutes away. There you can hike over 13 different breathtaking trails that will take you to multiple waterfalls, alpine lakes, snowfields, and places in the RMNP for which the area is aptly named... the Wild Basin. See Pear Lake, Finch Lake, Lyric Falls, Bluebird Lake, Ouzel Lake, Falcon Falls, Sandbeach Lake, Trio Falls, Lion Lake, Fan Falls, Calypso Falls, Ouzel Falls, and Copeland Falls. Download the AllTrails app or the Komoot app on your mobile phone to find these and other nearby trails.

Just 25 minutes north is the majestic Colorado mountain town of Estes Park, home of the Stanley Hotel and a classic Colorado tourist town. There you'll find lots of great restaurants and shops. It’s known as a base for the Rocky Mountain National Park, home to wildlife, including elk and bears, plus miles of trails. The park’s Trail Ridge Road winds past craggy peaks, forests, and tundra.

South, just 23 minutes, is picturesque Nederland, one of Boulder County’s most unique and eclectic mountain communities. It is the gateway to the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, where you can enjoy the local restaurants, coffee houses, and breweries. Live music and outdoor sports are also draws for this fun Colorado town.

In the winter months, Eldora Ski Resort is only a 30-minute drive west. Skiing at Eldora is a local favorite with its convenient access, lower fees, and fun runs. Eldora is one of the few ski mountains east of the continental divide. With a summit of 10,600 feet, it slopes down Bryan Mountain approximately 1,600 feet before resting at the main base of 9,200 feet.

CHILDPROOFING:
Guests understand that no special efforts have been made to “childproof” this house and accept the risk or harm to any children/infants we allow on the property.

WINTER:
- A four-wheel drive vehicle is not required to access our home, although the nearest stores - gas and other amenities - are not within walking distance and will require a vehicle for access. A 4WD vehicle is recommended for easier access and travel during the months of Noveberish through Aprilish. Use the "OpenSnow" mobile app to look at local snow conditions. Type in "Peaceful Valley, CO" for the most accurate snow and winter conditions, which are local to our cabin on Riverside Drive.
- If it snows during your stay, you may need to shovel the deck and steps to clear a path. The steps to access the rental (as well as the driveway itself) can be slick in the winter months. One shovel is located near the Hot Tub on the deck for use in the rear of the cabin, and a second one is located on the deck to the right of the Grill. An outdoor/deck broom is located to the right of the grill on the deck near the shovel. Snow removal: We have a snow removal service that will clear the driveway when needed. He is our neighbor just to our West (right side as you face toward the road). So please don't be alarmed when he comes out to push the snow.

RULES AND POLICIES:
No early check-in or late checkouts due to the cleaning schedule. Check-in is 4 pm or later; check-out is 10 am or earlier. No smoking in the house or on the property. No parties, please. No pets and no open fires. Six cars & nine guests max. Please do not block our neighbor's driveway. An accurate guest count IS MANDATORY. Please, no shoes or ski boots in the house. Please remove them and leave them at the doors. No skis (except in the ski rack in the basement), bikes, or any other sporting equipment in the house. Please DO NOT use the wood-burning stove. Our mountain home has central heat, so using the wood-burning stove is unnecessary. In light of the high fire hazard in our area, it is NOT allowed. Thank you for abiding by this policy. Please be kind to our home and treat it like it is yours. Thank you. :)

Violation of any of the following rules is subject to a $300 fine for each violation: smoking prohibition, fire ban, wood-burning stove use, no partying rule, six vehicle limit, quiet time hours, and accurate guest count.

The Space:
Walk into this cabin and you immediately feel the coziness with a gas fireplace. In the living room we have a comfy Full size Futon that would be perfect for 1 adult or 2 small kids! We also have an a/c window unit for those days in summer when it gets alittle warm. Next to the living room open the door to a soft Queen size bed to sleep in after a day of adventuring. The bathroom is fully remodeled complete with shower, fresh towels, and eco friendly soaps.
If you need to make a meal or just get a snack, walk from the main area to the kitchen where you will find a refrigerator, gas stove/oven, toaster, microwave, coffee and all the cookware and dishes you need! Enjoy a kitchen dining table set for four in our cozy nook with lots of sunlight. If you prefer to grill you can open up the back door to your own private fenced in patio for grilling or just sit and enjoy the fresh mountain air and enjoy the night sky!

This cabin as been fully remodeled and ready for you to come and enjoy! This cabin shares a front porch with the cabin next door, duplex style. Guest Access:
If you are coming from Lyons you will turn left right after county road 80 onto our private drive. Make sure you are on the left side of the river. You will head down the road past the parking lot. Keep going straight and following the one way dirt road to the back of the property where it curves to the right. You will pass a garage and stand alone cabin. Next you will come to a group of 6 cabins on your right. Your cabin will be the one with in the back on the right with the PURPLE chairs on the deck and Purple door. The cabin name is Spruce. Pull into the unloading area to get all your things into your cabin and then continue to follow the one way road back to the parking lot to park. It will be a short walk from the parking lot to your cabin. We wanted to keep the property quiet, peaceful and natural for all of our guests so you can enjoy all the property has to offer! We will let you know about any fire bans that might come up in the area. Tubing is just 5min down the road at Ray's River Rentals in Lyons!

WIFI: we do have wifi and it is great! however we are in the canyon and sometimes depending on weather etc. it can be spotty.
