Cozy Cabins in Beautiful Anthony Lakes, OR

Private, Tranquil, Rustic Cabin 20 minutes from the charming, historic town of Baker City, nestled in the foothills of the Elkhorn Mountains, 30 minutes to Anthony Lakes Ski Resort. This cozy space takes you back to the basics. Unplug and enjoy the beauty of nature and simplicity of living in the woods!

There is no pet fee or cleaning fee. Guests are to clean up after themselves and their pets (leave it as you found it). The cabin is aired out between guests, surfaces are disinfected and fresh towels and linens replace those used.

Ready for a bit of adventure? There is outgoing plumbing only (no running water). Bucket your washing and flushing water out of the creek off of the back deck (runs most of the year). Bottled drinking and cooking water are also provided.

Winter: December-March you will need 4 wheel drive to access the cabin as the road can be quite icy and is a bit of a climb.

Pets are welcome but please notify host. Sleeps 4 (1 double bed, 1 futon, 1 couch), pricing is for 2 guests.

No internet, TV service or Freezer (small refrigerator).

The space:
The Enchanting A-Frame is private outside of 2 neighboring cabins, one is a full year resident.

This 900 square foot cabin is rustic, not all conveniences, but very comfortable, like camping but much better, safer, warmer, drier ....

Being an A-Frame, the upstairs bedroom/loft is much warmer than downstairs, especially in the winter. There are fans on both levels to encourage circulation of heat from the propane vent-less heater.

The bathroom is small and tight quarters. Navigating this space can be somewhat of a challenge. The shower is also on the small side and is a camp shower ( with water heated from the stove). The spiral staircase is narrow and steep with a minimal handrail.

A stone fireplace provides additional comfort during the colder and wetter seasons so bring lots of firewood to add to the starter stock provided. (No fires of any kind however during wildfire season, generally July - September.)

Light breakfast foods, coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available for guests to enjoy. The kitchen is stocked with all basics, plates, glasses, utensils, pots and pans.

Guest access:
Guests have use the entire cabin, though there are many drawers and cupboards which store host supplies and linens. The neighboring storage shed is for host use only.

Other things to note:
Just to reiterate, the plumbing inside the cabin is outgoing only. Water must be brought into the cabin from the creek or it will be provided in buckets and large water jugs (if the creek is not running, which it occasionally does not due to retainage for nearby forest fires or use in agriculture in the fall). Hot water is obtained by heating water on the propane range in the kitchen.

Propane is the main source of heat and provides fuel for the cook stove. The use of propane can emit a slight odor at times. The cabin is checked regularly for propane leaks.

This cabin features a full length side porch and entrances with great privacy. Located just 50' from Antone Creek, this cabin location is the most private of all. Features an electric range, propane and electric heat, full kitchen plus a laundry ctr. Enjoy the creek out your front and a clean cozy cabin inside.

- "This place worked perfectly for us to spend time up at Anthony lake. It was super clean, our boys loved the loft and Harmony was very responsive. Would stay here next time. A light was burnt out when we got there and Harmony had it fixed within an hour. The listing said no pets when we purchased though we learned after that was not the case. I was concerned because I have pet allergies, but I ended up having no issues, and I appreciated that the place was so well cleaned. Though the listing says Wi-Fi is available, that is a bit of a stretch because it borrows from another cabin which is far enough away that phones cannot get a connection unless you walk up to the other cabin which is a little awkward."

During the winter months, we recommend an all-wheel-drive or 4-wheel drive vehicle for safe travels. The driveway is regularly plowed, but snow can accumulate quickly.

• Parking: Park in front of the cabin or in the gravel space
• Shoes: Remove shoes indoors or ensure they are free of dirt to help keep the home clean.
• Overnight Guests: Visiting guests not on the reservation require prior approval.
• Smoking: Smoking is allowed outdoors only. Please collect and dispose of cigarette butts.
• This home is meant for 2 adults only. Children are not allowed.

Pet Policy (for Travelers with Animals)
• This home is not pet friendly; sorry no exceptions.

Additional Policies
• Damages: Guests will be charged for stained towels, linens, or damages beyond standard wear and tear.

This house called "NC loft" is an 8' wide tiny home with slides. Don't let the size deter you from enjoying this cabin because it still has all the conveniences of the larger cabins plus more. Full kitchen, 36" shower, large bathroom, washer/dryer, bedroom in the loft, and a futon couch in the living room that can be used for sleeping as well. This cabin has slides which gives a spacious living area. The stairs to the loft are 24" wide (see photos). This cabin is a favorite of Rich's because of its great location and creek views.

It is a perfect cabin for two with everything you'll need for a base of a great vacation (any time of year)! Only 9 miles from Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort and along the Elkhorn Scenic Byway. Antone Creek runs just below the park creating a serene experience in the forest. A special highlight as well is that it is easy to access it. There is only one step and is one level.

This cabin is on a working ranch so you are likely to be greeted by curious cattle. When you arrive there is a large gate you will open for access to the cabin. The gate must remain closed at all times so the cattle do not leave the pasture. The cows could be on the driveway. If you drive very slow, they will move out of the way.

This cabin is not pet friendly because of the cattle around the cabin.

There is a fire extinguisher under the stairs with the cleaning supplies.

There are 4 security cameras on the property. One is a doorbell camera, one faces the driveway, one faces the back deck, the last faces away from the home toward the trees. This is for the safety and security of our guests. The cameras also provide a way to follow-up on any damage caused to the property if necessary. The camera recordings are not shared or reviewed unless there is cause.

The space
Private, cozy cabin to yourself. It is a two story cabin a master bedroom and a loft sleeping area upstairs. A queen size sofa bed in living room, and air-mattress available.
Open kitchen, dining and living room concept. Fully equipped kitchen with all cooking items you could need. Full size fridge/freezer and washer/dryer laundry area in cabin. Ample parking directly in front of cabin. Please be aware of potential snow on roof in the winter and to park back with space to avoid snow sliding off roof onto your vehicle.

Queen size bed in master bedroom, full size bed in loft-both areas are up stairs, with the couch folding out to another queen. An addition air mattress is available for additional guests upon request. Porta crib also available.

Excellent Starlink wifi , fixed and portable desks for the dedicated work space, TV in living room with Dish Network.

Private porch with comfortable seating and BBQ. Covered picnic area just off to the side in the private, grassy back yard. Firepit in back yard: heavy snow or dry summer may limit use of firepit.

The entire cabin is yours to relax and unwind in. There is also a covered porch and gazebo with picnic tables for the use of guests. A BBQ on the covered patio for that grilling need. A large fire-pit available for guests for the best experience-weather pending as the snow is deep in this area during winter.

Hikes around the pond and on the road are encouraged.

Washer and dryer and boot/mitten dryer are available in your cabin.

For the safety of the guests the remainder of the property is not for public use without permission.

Other things to note
Buddy is our very friendly black lab that wanders around and greets guests with a happy tail and a special smile. We have a chicken coop with chickens and ducks. Let me know if you would like to see them.

Hunting and fishing are prohibited on this property. Wolf Creek Reservoir-two miles away, Pilcher Creek Reservoir-9.5 miles away and Anthony Lakes-23 miles all have excellent fishing and water sport opportunities. Excellent hiking in numerous areas as well for all different skill levels.
