Welcome to our waterfront cottage, The Mermaid of Lorain, one of the Pelee Island’s Finest Homes, a two-story building on the very finest sand swim beach in a Cul-De-Sac! It has 3 bedrooms with Queen’s size beds in each room plus 1 pull out bed, which can accommodate up to 8 people. One bedroom (The Cleodora) is located on the main floor while the other 2 (The Nixie and The Ocarina)are located on the second floor. All the rooms and the living room have full lake views.
The flooring is made of carpet over wood, ceramic and laminate. It has a full kitchen with a stove, a microwave, oven, a refrigerator, dishes, glasses, utensils, and a dishwasher. We have a washer and a dryer for the clothes. It has 2 full baths, one on each floor. Bed linens, towels, and cleaning supplies are provided.
The finely decorated white wooden stair railings plus carpets on the stairs to the second floor are added safety features for the children and the elderly.
You'll also find an assortment of coffee makers, dining table, breakfast table and an outdoor gas BBQ grill. There is a large back deck for outdoor sitting. Fine decorated, bright and naturally lit interior features many artworks. The Mermaid of Lorain, Pelee Island’s Finest cottage is a relaxing and peaceful home. It has indoor entertainment with high speed satellite internet, satellite TV, VCR, CD/DVD player, a large collection of CDs and DVDs, a radio, books, and games for all age groups. There is a Playpen for younger children. Heating Base Boards, Fans, and Window Air Conditioners are available. There are plenty of beach chairs and a picnic table. Pelee Island's finest sand swim beach is at your front door. Lake Erie is quite shallow near our beach.

Forest & Feather Lakehouse was built in the early 20th century by a ship's captain who operated the Pelee Island ferry for decades. Set on a beautiful treed lot, the classic, light-filled cottage offers unparalleled lake views. The cottage is a Sears Craftsman kit home built on part of an original subplot created before Pelee's marshes were drained in the late 1800s.

Inside, the living room has two large picture windows for viewing Pelee's sunrises and sunsets, a large flatscreen TV and plenty of comfortable seating.

Forest & Feather Lakehouse is located right in the centre of Pelee's North Shore. Within walking distance are the Dog and Goat restaurant, Scudder Beach Breakfast Bar, Pelee Co-Op Grocery Store, Shack Shop for gifts, the Filling Station for ice cream, the Taco Shack for tacos, pizza, bags of ice etc.

Please note, we purchased the cottage in 2022, so reviews prior to that time were when the cottage was under different ownership.

Sheridan Cottage is located on a large lot and features a tranquil, open north-facing deck with views to Lake Erie. This modern air conditioned cottage comfortably sleeps 6 people with 3 bedrooms (2 queen beds and 2 single beds), 2 bathrooms, a spacious open living/ dining area and tile floors throughout. The cottage includes a fully equipped kitchen, BBQ, and has laundry facilities available onsite.

The cottage is perfect for families and small groups to relax, unwind and enjoy all that Pelee Island has to offer. Note, there is no wifi at the cottage

Sheridan Cottage is conveniently located on Pelee Island's North Shore, just steps from the Dog and Goat Restaurant within walking distance to beaches, Scudder Marina, the Coop (groceries and gas). It is a 10 minute drive from the West Dock.

Nestled between Lake Erie and Cedar creek conservation area, our cottage is the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway!

Our kitchen is well stocked and we provide a propane bbq to help you grill up a great dinner.

We have 3 bedrooms each with a queen size bed on the 2nd floor. The master bedroom has access to a private balcony with fantastic views.

On the main level, we have a den with a double bed. The den is also a great spot for a playpen (available upon request). It is closed from the main living space, but also functions as a walkthrough to upstairs.

We have a large dining table in the main living space with seating for 8. There is a small desk with a view of the lake, should anyone in your group need a place to work. Our internet was recently upgraded to high speed fibre optic making it easy to stream or work remotely.

Gather around in the living room and make use of the fireplace in colder months. We have books and games available for guests to enjoy. There is free wifi, antenna tv, and streaming services available on the smart 55" tv. There is also a smaller 2nd tv in the den.

There is a large locked shed if you want to store any personal recreational equipment.

Other things to note:
Water Access: Lake Erie is a Great Lake ! We have many calm days, however we also have rough, wavy days. We have large (2foot) flat rocks leading to the water but do NOT have beach. Water is approximately 2 feet deep upon entry and there are rocks in the water. We suggest bringing water shoes if you plan to get in! Small children and guests with mobility limitations will find water entry difficult, but can explore nearby Cedar beach for water entry.
A variety of life jackets and some floats are provided.
2 sit on kayaks and 2 cruiser bikes are available for guest use.
Should you choose to enter the water or use the kayaks or bikes, you do so at your own risk.

While we welcome families with children of all ages, small children will require close supervision in the backyard.
Inside, we have a safety gate at the top of stairs.
We also have a playpen, booster seat, baby audio monitor, and infant bouncy seat available upon advanced request.

Take a stroll or bike ride on the greenway just around the corner. Walk to town and enjoy a gourmet meal, world class chocolatier, local baked goods, coffee shops or some boutique shopping. Purchase some farm raised meat for the Bbq from the local butcher.

Spend some time at Lakeside park or walk a little further to the working harbour where you may spot some American white Pelicans in the summer. You can also book a ferry over to Pelee Island for the day, hop on at the Kingsville terminal(Aug - Dec) a 2 minute drive from your home away from home. Further to the East (about 20 minute drive) you will find Point Pelee National Park and many other conservation areas.

Pamper yourselves at 'Estate of Health' day spa, couples massage maybe? - a 5 minute walk away.

This cottage was built in 2011, has tons of space inside and out, and is family friendly. On the ground level, the double garage has been turned into a rec room and there are two bedrooms and a bathroom with outdoor shower. The main living space is on the floor above as well as two main bedrooms and a bathroom. Above that, there is a loft with plenty of beds that pull out from the wall. The height of the cottage means it has a wonderful view of the lake, nature and sunsets. The large, covered deck on the front is the perfect place to relax or gather with family & friends. The front deck has an outdoor table, lots of seating and large propane BBQ. There is also a large sunny deck on the back of the house with plenty of seating and rocking chairs. The backyard features a pond and firepit. There is also plenty of yardspace for lawn games or kids to play!

Unannounced guests - Prices are quoted in accordance to occupancy of the rooms. We ask that there are no unregistered guest past 11 pm. .

Rental Agreement - Guest must sign rental agreement. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your rental. There will be no refunds given if the agreement is not signed.

Check In is after 4 pm unless otherwise arranged.

Check Out is 11 am to avoid the $75 late check out fee.

First Aid Kit & Fire Extinguisher - We have provided both a First Aid Kit and fire extinguisher in case of an emergency.

Housekeeping - There is no daily housekeeping service. While linen and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit to towels or linens to be taken from the house. Should you need extra maid service, please contact us to arrange it. Extra maid services would be at an extra cost.

Noise - Guests should not create excessive noise at a level that disturbs neighbours. Quiet hours are from 11 pm- 7 am.

Garbage - Any garbage must be stowed in the appropriate bins. We recommend the garbage is taken out daily to avoid unnecessary odors.
Recycling - please use the large blue bin on wheels for all paper and plastic

Furniture and decor - Please do not move the furniture or decor. This can damage the floors and disturb the atmosphere of the home we have work so hard to create.

Pets - Unfortunately, this property is not suitable for pets of any kind.

Water - DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the system, you will be charged the service fee.
Liability - The owners and property manager (PM) are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The homeowner and PM are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guests. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or other whom they invite to use the premise.

Or, you can sit on the upper balcony with a morning coffee, or evening glass of wine and look out onto the Cedar Creek Conservation area to watch the wildlife and listen to the birds. Enjoy time playing foosball or other games in our open area loft, including our round game table and chairs - perfect for poker, other card games, board games, or our crokinole board. Our spacious kitchen with large stove, stocked with kitchen tools, and pots and pans, is great for the gourmet away from home, or large family meals in the attached dining area. Or sit by the fireplace in the main floor living room. And, there is a large garage to place your canoes, kayaks, or bikes.

An entire family-friendly open concept home with parking for four cars, plus garage to store your canoe, kayak, or bike. You have access to the whole property including spacious, private patio and dock that overlooks the conservation area and Cedar Creek waterway, as well as access to the creek for paddle boards (provided), and canoes and kayaks. You are a 10 minute drive to a grocery story, or a short walk to the local bakery, beach, or marina.

The cottage sits nestled between Cedar Creek canal and Lake Erie, on the creek side with a mix of residential and cottage owners who enjoy the waterfront views, nearby Cedar Beach, the local bakery and more.

You can jog, bike, or walk along the paths on the side of Heritage road. Walk to Cedar Beach, or launch your canoe or kayak in the Cedar Creek canal in the backyard. It's a quick 5-10 minute drive to the amenities in Kingsville, or another 5 minutes in the opposite direction to wine country.

For kayak and paddle board (we provide 2 of each), and canoe enthusiasts, this is the perfect location to start off your paddling adventure through Cedar Creek Conservation area and paddle through the conservation area, or all the way out to Lake Erie. You can also put bikes in the garage for safe and secure overnight storage if you’re planning on biking to a winery, or heading out on the local trails. For nature lovers and bird watches, you can watch many different species of birds and ducks fly and float by, as well as various creatures. And if you have a good eye, you can find the eagle’s nest in the conservation area by looking out from the second floor balcony.

- "The cottage was clean and well stocked. We had everything we needed for meal prep. The pool table was also nice to have as well as the dock on the creek. The cottage is truly a 5 minute walk to the lake.The neighborhood was quiet and conveniently located. The only drawbacks are that the living room furniture is extremely uncomfortable. There was no comfortable place to sit and read . And there are no chests of drawers. There were closets but nowhere to put underwear socks shorts etc so we were living out of our suitcases for the week. Even so I would recommend staying here."

Sit in the back and fish off the dock in the canal, or enjoy the wetlands and bird watching. Perhaps grab your flip flops and towels and head seconds away to many of the private or public sandy beaches of Lake Erie on Cedar Island. Wineries, breweries and golfing are minutes drive away. Although the cottages are close together, the neighbourhood was very quiet. Very few boats travelled up the canal, and all of them were at coasting speed. The covered porch area was a great place for meals, even on the one rainy day! 3: we knew the beach was a short walk away, (and assumed the distance might be exaggerated). But it TRULY is a short walk away. This little pocket of homes and cottages has several small, private beach spaces on Lake Erie, essentially across the road from the cottage (and the road is private, so it’s quiet and has very few cars). The public beach is roughly 3 minutes walk and wasn’t busy our whole trip. There’s also a conservation area and beach just 15 minutes away. 4: there’s a tasty bakery nearby (about 10 minutes away). 5: the wifi was excellent, even at the dock! Two of our members took part in remote meetings with out any issues. 6: the space is better than the photos show!"

Whether you are coming for a relaxing getaway with your family or want to check out the island with some friends, it is a great place to be! There are bike rentals available, nature trails, a winery, restaurants, and amazing scenery.

Another full bathroom on the main floor is available for all guests. The cozy kitchen overlooks the water and makes kitchen prep and clean up a peaceful experience. The large living room and dining room table means a great place to reconnect with family and friends in the evenings and play board games or cards. Or just watch TV by the gas fireplace. Head out to the manmade beach to make sandcastles and watch the waves or sunbathe. Enjoy time by an outdoor fire as the sun goes down. Then bring a coffee out in the morning to sit on one of our Muskoka chairs and watch the birds fly over the water as the sun rises. Walk along the break wall and watch the boats near and far. Located on quiet Pelee Island our Family Cottage is an escape from the hectic day-to-day life. Pelee Island is a delight for cyclists, hikers, sun worshippers and those that just want to unwind. Fall is one of our favourite seasons on the island. We just love it!
We want to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. The cottage is very well equipped with bedding, kitchen wash cloths, our well equipped kitchen, cleaning supplies, toilet paper and paper towels.

It is located right beside the water on the South end of the island.. There is a large yard to play games, catch some sun rays, and have a camp fire. Your only neighbors are the birds. There is a wood lot on both sides, and across the road there is a stream.

Pelee on the Rocks is three-bedroom cottage that sleeps 6. The first and third bedrooms have double beds while the middle bedroom has bunk beds. There are two living areas. In each living area there is a pull out couch. This cottage is equipped with a full kitchen, two full size fridges, coffee maker, pots, pans, cooking utensils, microwave & BBQ. There are three dining areas to choose from. The first one is in the kitchen, second in the sun room and the third is on the deck overlooking the water. Cottage is also equipped with a water filtration system that is public health tested!

A coffee bar stocked with Nespresso maker, drip press or French press and the best local coffee grinds, ensures the perfect brew to go with your view. For best experience, we recommend quietly stepping outside and enjoying a tranquil morning listening to the waves lap and the seagulls calling. Occasionally a blue Heron can be seen perched on the shallow rocks right in front of us hunting for fish. We offer a seamless check-in and check-out process to help you make the most of your stay. You will have full access to the entire cottage, driveway, fenced in front courtyard, both lake view decks and the small yard that in between them. There is no lake access from our our cottage, however, we are minutes away from many beautiful beaches for you to enjoy. The gardens below the look-out deck are for viewing only and are off-limits.
The exterior areas are lit up by solar lighting, if it hasn’t been sunny, they don’t always make it through the night. If you’re going to be arriving after dark for check-in, let us know and we can leave the front foyer and porch lights on.
The china cabinet in the dining room has stemware and cocktail making accessories. As well as a non-breakable set for taking outside. There are also extra sets of plates and bowls and serving ware and baking ware. As well as binoculars and field guides to identify the local birds, butterflies and plants you might see during your stay.
There is a pantry in the front foyer by the staircase that has many bonus travel essentials that you might find yourself needing like, Tupperware and children’s serving ware, an oil diffuser and some essential oil blends, disposable champagne glasses and extra kitchen ware.
There are pet accessories located in the laundry room. Please clean up after your pets during your stay. The front courtyard is totally fenced in but the lakefront is not, so please keep pets supervised at all times. Please no digging or chewing anything in the house or yards (other than sticks) Our dog, Baylor, loves sticks. So he’s left a little collection in case a pet guest needs something to chew on :)
We ask that you help us conserve energy by turning off the air conditioning or furnace if windows are going to be opened to listen to the waves and birdsong during your stay.

**Safe, quiet, family and pet friendly neighbourhood- located just minutes from downtown kingsville. Tucked away on a quiet street, away from any traffic and or hustle and bustle. Just the sounds of birds, the breeze and the lapping Lake Erie waves. There is a small utility section in the bathroom closet. We ask that you are careful around this area.

Our lakeside property is landscaped with pleasant gardens and trees where you can enjoy Lake Erie's westerly breezes and stunning sunsets. From the lakeside deck you can relax, read a book, drink a cool beverage, or just listen to the waves lapping at the shore and watch the gulls and boats with a view of the neighbouring islands.

Sunset Beach, a public sandy beach, is about 1.5 km south of the property.

Guests have the whole cottage plus private use of the back dining deck and a lakeside deck across the road.

WIFI and Internet Connection. Presently we are not able to offer wifi. Most guests are able to connect to the internet using their own data plans. Wifi is available at Pelee Artworks Artisan Coopérative on East-West Rd for a reasonable fee.

Other things to note
Supplies are limited on Pelee and all businesses have limited daily hours. It is a good idea to bring most of what you need. Especially keep in mind drug store items and groceries. Pelee has an excellent health clinic with a nurse in attendance five to six days a week. Ambulance and paramedic services are available 24-7.

Welcome to island life, where nature is beautiful, the skies are endless, and things run a little differently than on the mainland.

Our home uses a well water system that draws from Lake Erie, and it’s treated through a multi-stage filtration process including two sediment filters, two carbon filters, and UV light technology. We also conduct routine water testing in accordance with the Windsor Health Unit to ensure water quality and safety.

While the tap water is safe to use, we recommend boiling it before drinking or cooking, just for added peace of mind.

To make your stay more comfortable, we provide:

One 20-liter jug of filtered drinking water

If you need more drinking water, you can refill at the Potable Water Fill Station (available 24/7) or visit the Pelee Island Co-Op.

Our waterfront cottage backs onto the Cedar Creek Canal and Conservation Area. Built in 2008, it is open and spacious with a large backyard patio with muskoka chairs for 6, hammock, a firepit, and a dock where you can kayak and paddle board (both provided), or canoe. Or, you can sit on the upper balcony with a morning coffee, or evening glass of wine and look out onto the Cedar Creek Conservation area to watch the wildlife and listen to the birds. An entire family-friendly open concept home with parking for four cars, plus garage to store your kayak and paddle board (we provide 2 of each), canoe, or bike. You have access to the whole property including spacious, private patio that overlooks the conservation area and Cedar Creek waterway, as well as access to the creek for paddle boards, canoes and kayaks. You are a 10 minute drive to a grocery story, or a short walk to the local bakery, beach, or marina.

Other things to note
For kayak and paddle board (we provide 2 of each), and canoe enthusiasts, this is the perfect location to start off your paddling adventure from our new dock (May 2025) through Cedar Creek Conservation area and paddle through the conservation area, or all the way out to Lake Erie. You can also put bikes in the garage for safe and secure overnight storage if you’re planning on biking to a winery, or heading out on the local trails. For nature lovers and bird watches, you can watch many different species of birds and ducks fly and float by, as well as various creatures. And if you have a good eye, you can find the eagle’s nest in the conservation area by looking out from the second floor balcony.

The space
Our eclectic cottage is a great place to unwind and relax with family and friends. Our 1700 sq. ft waterfront cottage has an unobstructed western view to watch the spectacular sunset. When guests stay at Bongo House Pelee, they are on island time! You will not be missing the hustle and bustle of the mainland. There's no Wi-Fi, which is just the way we like it - our guests come to unplug!

The cottage has everything you need in the kitchen and BBQ with two large tables to gather. 4 bedrooms (2 rooms with 2 singles, 2 rooms with queen) and 1 full bath and 1 half bath. There is also an outdoor shower to cool off. 3 sitting areas to catch the view of the water. Outdoor fire pit with a large 1-acre yard. Guests like to sit on the screened porch and catch a nice breeze as they watch the sunset.
We also have 5 adult bikes and 1 youth bike for guests to use. There is a lawn games, soccer ball, volleyball, frisbee, youth baseball gloves and 2 badminton racquets to enjoy.

The space
This family cottage has three comfortable private bedrooms and an open loft bunk room for kids. The beds all have new mattresses and bedding blinds for privacy on all of the windows. Perfect for multiple generations or multiple families.

The downstairs is open concept with incredible views of the lake. The newly screened in porch has a dining area and two lounge spaces to enjoy both sunrises and the incredible number of stars visible away from the light pollution of the mainland.

Outside is a fire pit and a wide open sandy beach leading to shallow waters. The best beach on the island. A quick drive away from the Co-Op, Scudder Marina and the lighthouse, this is an ideal location for a summer getaway.

The space
Our lakefront cottage sits on a large lot with beautiful shade trees on the shores of Lake Erie. The two-story cottage has a wall of windows facing the lake, a main floor bedroom with a king bed and ensuite bath, and two queen bedrooms upstairs. Another full bathroom on the main floor is available for all guests. The cozy kitchen overlooks the water, making meal prep a peaceful experience. A spacious living and dining area with a gas fireplace provides a cozy space to reconnect, play games, or watch TV.

Step outside to find a cedar sauna with breathtaking lake views, perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors. Head to the manmade beach to build sandcastles, watch the waves, or sunbathe. Gather around the outdoor fire pit as the sun goes down, then start the morning with coffee in a Muskoka chair, watching birds over the water. Stroll along the break wall to see passing boats, or take a short walk to Cedar Beach, one of the area’s largest sandy beaches. You and your loved ones can create unforgettable lake memories here.

With ample parking, you are a 5-10 minute drive to a grocery story, or a short walk to the local bakery, beach, or marina. You can bike, run, or walk along Heritage Road on the walking path as well.

Other things to note
Our lakefront cottage is a place for making memories. We are reminded of family times together watching the water, laughing at jokes and having a glass of local wine. Or playing soccer in the large, grassy yard, with the bbq going and the waves splashing against the break wall. For breakfast, pull out the waffle maker, then pop some chili in the crockpot and head out for a day of local site seeing, or bike riding to the wineries for the more adventurous. As a family we love just being together in a stress-free environment.

Other things to note
Wifi coming for the 2025 season!! A waterfront cottage that is nestled on Lake Erie...only a few steps from the back door. Coffee on the pier in the early morning or in the sunroom while having a full view of the lake is priceless. Water on the south shore is generally calm for a peaceful and relaxing swim.

Only a mile bike ride to Fish Point from our cottage! A Provincial Nature Reserve. Home to a plethora of shorebirds, Fish Point also hosts a large population of the Black-Crowned Night Heron.

Some of the rare creatures you may be lucky enough to encounter on your visit include the Eastern Fox Snake and the Giant Swallowtail butterfly.

Fish Point, spanning 110 hectares in all, is also the southernmost point of Canada.

And if you love to see the eagles soar we hear there is one who is seen hunting every morning and evening along the south coast.

We have bikes at the cottage for you to use as well!

And we have heard most nights right from the deck, in the distance, you can see the fire works from Cedar Point...
