This property is located on Sunset Lake in Alton New Hampshire. Sunset Lake is considered to be one of the cleanest most pristine lakes in the region. Imagine waking up in the morning and walking out on the screened in porch having your cup of coffee in the morning 75 feet from the water. Life doesn't get any better!

This cottage offers two bedrooms. One has a double size bed. The other bedroom sleeps four with 2 sets of bunk beds. There is an inside half bathroom. The shower facility is outdoors and is enclosed, part of the rustic charm.

This is a great place for a calm, relaxing get away. There is not the constant boating activity you get at Lake Winnipesaukee, so this is a place where you can get peace and quiet to relax. On a typical summer day the water is generally flat calm in the morning and the evening. There is a fire pit right on the beach to enjoy the view, the ambiance and the starlit sky's. Sunset Lake also offers excellent fishing with a good variety of bass, pickerel, perch and bluegill which you can enjoy on the private dock.

For those familiar with the area this location is unique and considered a gem. It is accessible through an unpaved road, so if you are looking for place to get away from all the activity this is an ideal place. Plus it has everything you need so that you do not need to make continuous trips to town. It is ideal for arriving, unpacking and just enjoying nature for the balance of your visit.

You will love our charming, clean 2 bedroom lakeside cottage, on the shores of Winnipesaukee, located in West Alton, NH. We believe it has the best view on the lake! Perfect size for a family with 2-4 kids or 1 or 2 couples. Maximum number of people sleeping at the cottage is 6.

From seniors to little kids this a great spot for all ages. Being lakeside on Winnipesaukee you will love relaxing by the lake and looking out at the view. You will enjoy swimming in the crystal clear water with a beautiful sandy bottom.

We provide 3 kayaks and 2 paddle boards for your use and the dock is available if you have a boat. (We can suggest boat rentals)

Built by my grandfather in 1927 we’ve modernized it over the years to be very comfortable and have the amenities we all require. Everyone who has ever visited comments on how country cozy and beautiful the cottage is and how unbelievable the view is!

Both the outdoor fireplace and the fire pit at the waters edge are available for your use in the evenings. Often you can hear the the call of the loons on the lake. It is so peaceful.

There is a hammock for a nap by day and to gaze at the stars by night.

The are 2 rocking chairs and several adirondack chairs to relax in on the dock or shore while looking out at the lake, islands and the Ossipee Mountain Range.

Winnipesaukee is the perfect lake for boating. You can go to Wolfeboro for the biggest best ice cream cone ever, Alton Bay for a yummy lunch at Pops Clam Shack, visit the Weirs for arcades and more, and our favorite restaurant in Meredith for lunch is Town Docks where you can eat outside on a glorious day! All of these places and more are available by car as well.

There are lots of great restaurants… it’s just a 10 minute car ride to one of our favorites, Ellacoya, where they have daily specials and the food is always delicious.

If you like to cook at home it’s less than 15 minutes to Beans and Greens for fresh veggies. They even have fresh baked pie. (Blueberry is our favorite) Shaw’s and Hannaford are the closest grocery stores just a few minutes from Beans and Greens.

A favorite of many is to swim from our cottage to the “Point” (Smith’s Point) along the shoreline in the morning. Or go out for an early morning kayak to catch the sunrise.

Great outlet shopping is about 30 minutes away in Tilton. Terrific shopping for souvenirs and boutique clothes are in Gilford, Meredith, Wolfeboro and Laconia. Funspot is not far for arcades and bowling and there are several mini golf locations close by. There is a 3-ring binder at the cottage with info on area attractions, restaurants and more.

PLEASE NOTE: The cottage is not waterfront. It is located on the same property as our main house, which is on the water and has docks and a boathouse. Guests do NOT have access to these docks or waterfront. Water access is via either the association beach mentioned above, the public beach in Alton Bay, or any one of the area public boat launch ramps.

We provide our guests with a small starter pack of essentials upon arrival. Depending on your length of stay, you may need to get additional provisions at some point. Complementary grill gas is provided.

This is a 3-season cottage. It does not have central heating. Therefore, as may be occasionally necessary in the "shoulder season" (mid-May, or late September/early October), we provide space heaters.

The number of overnight guests per reservation must match or the reservation may be canceled without a refund.

The lake is beautiful, with many small islands; most other visitors are weekenders, so on the weekdays we felt like we had it mostly to ourselves. 2 bedroom cottage with a large family room on beautiful Halfmoon Lake (5 miles south of the Alton traffic circle, 10 minutes to Lake Winnepsauke and lots of Lakes Region activities.) It is a short walk on our private property from the cottage to the beautiful white sand beach. The crystal clear water is inviting, and the water depth increases very slowly, perfect for young children. In season there is usually a large raft in deeper water of swimming area for jumping and diving. Free use of kayaks, canoe, rowboat and paddle boat. Guests may bring their own boat. Great fishing. Main room has Smart TV for watching your streaming accounts. WiFi for entire cottage. Fully stocked modern kitchen includes a microwave, toaster oven, Keurig coffeemaker. The cottage has it's own outdoor picnic area with a propane grill, picnic table, Adirondack chairs and hammock. There is also a community picnic area, and a dock. The cottage sleeps 6, sorry no pets. - "Very clean and cute. The cabin was built in an era where people expected a bit of "roughing it" when they were out the lake. The septic is not set up for long, hot showers or half a dozen people flushing all day long. Also, you are expected to clean up after yourself. If you can live with that, the beach is lovely and the other residents are mostly very friendly. (I did have one person explain to me that I was at "her" table, which was for cabins not rented out, while literally every single other table on the beach was empty.) The kayaks are perfect for the kids to play on and the sand is suitable for building. The stove and oven are full-sized and there are plenty of dishes. You can make regular coffee or K cup. We definitely hope to go again in the spring."

- "I can’t say enough great things about this place. It’s right on the water with just a few stairs to the private dock. Deep enough to dive off but also has a ladder to get into the water off the dock. We spent a lot of time floating in our own little piece of the lake! We rented a boat at lakesiderentals.com and highly recommend them as well. It was only ½ mile down the road. Cabin has a huge deck and the owner was in the cabin next door and absolutely wonderful. Always bringing us more wood for the fires and extra chairs when he saw we had folks visiting. Brought my dog treats (my dog actually tried to go to his door every time we walked him!) and even helped secure our kayaks when he saw us struggling! We had an issue with the shower and he got it fixed right away and even stayed at the cabin with the plumber so we didn’t need to hang around! We were greeted with a basket of all the makings for s’mores and some homemade jam and waters! We literally walked onto the deck area and were just taken aback by the beautiful view we had from the deck. Loved drinking my coffee in the morning and having a cocktail during the day just enjoying the view! The bay is fantastic for tubing and boating as it’s much less crowded than the rest of the lake but almost its own little lake within the big lake! Place comes with everything you need to grill/cook. The grill is very large and there was a big bag of charcoal waiting. Never rented before and were super happy. Will go again!!"

We also took the Sunday brunch cruise right out of Alton Bay on the Mt. Washington which was great. We used the provided dock for our kayak, wish we had a boat as it’s a great amenity for the property. Jill is great at responding and gives her guests space and privacy. Overall great experience."

Welcome to the Spring Street Retreat; a lakeside cottage nestled on a hill overlooking Alton Bay (one of Lake Winnipesaukee’s most popular coves). We're not waterfront, but water views can be enjoyed from the living room, from the dining table, from the deck, and even from your seating around our fire pit.

The cottage sleeps up to 6 guests; dogs are welcome for an extra $15/night per pet.

The cottage offers guests sunny, open living & dining areas, 2 cozy bedrooms, a small kitchen, 1 bathroom, and a ‘bonus’ room downstairs which acts as our entryway, mudroom, workspace, and hangout spot for the kiddos. We have boardgames & puzzles for guests, as well as a smart TV with Roku and Apple TV. There is a window AC unit in the main living space, which cools the living, dining, & kitchen areas.

Our bedrooms are small, but designed comfortably; outfitted with new mattresses & bedding, and each with small dressers and a place to put your luggage. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed, and bedroom 2 has a full bed and bunkbeds. There is no A/C in the bedrooms, however we have plenty of fans for the warmer nights.

Outdoors, we have a large deck with a propane grill, patio table with 4 chairs, and some comfy lounge seating – as well as an outdoor heater for those chillier nights. The deck features baby/pet gates on both openings to keep everyone safe. Walk up a short path from the deck to our large firepit on the hill, overlooking the lake. There’s also a dog run and a hammock amongst the trees.

The cottage is nestled up on a hill with complete privacy (woods) behind the house, and no one immediately on either side. Neighboring houses can be seen in front of the cottage; across the street.

Alton Bay offers restaurants, a country store, ice cream shops, mini golf, and a town beach… and it’s also one of the docking spots for the Mount Washington lake cruise boats. You’ll be just a 15 min drive from beautiful Ellacoya State Park and Gunstock Mountain, 20 mins from Wolfeboro, 25 mins from Weirs Beach, and 30 mins from Laconia & Meredith; and only a few minutes from Mount Major trailhead!

- "To start off, Harold’s Camp is everything it was advertised and then some! It truly is a special place. We want to describe the feel and vibe of the cabin but it is hard to put into words without ruining the first impression you will get walking in, and that is something you should see for yourself. The sights and smells transport you back to a simpler time when life was a bit slower and not so tech. It’s the perfect space to unplug, unwind, and get back to the basics. The views of the lake are spectacular with plenty of boats to watch during the day, the loons are plentiful in the evenings and mornings here, with quiet sunrises and sunsets. Even the thunderstorms were awesome to watch from the porch. The cabin itself is amazingly clean, the property well kept, and the neighbors not too close…so you actually feel like you’re at a camp and not a subdivision. For those of you bringing boats the dock is excellent. Water is plenty deep enough water and even though there is boat traffic, it doesn’t beat your boat up with the direction they are going. Amanda was very helpful, and answered any questions we had. We 100% recommend you stay here…not one bad thing to say."

Everywhere you look is a view of Lake Winnipesaukee.The main cottage is just under 1,000 square feet. There is a main bedroom with a queen bed and a half bathroom. The family room overlooks lake Winnipesaukee toward Mink Island. The kitchen has a stove, microwave, water cooler, and over looks the lake toward Timber Island. A deck wraps around the entire cottage and also connects the cottage to the water closet, and to the bunk house. The water closet is a building that has a sink, shower, toilet, and a washer and dryer. There is also an outside shower so you can get even closer to nature lol. The bunk house has two sets of twin beds, a daybed, and a TV. Outside the bunk house is its own deck with two chairs and a table. Great place to have a morning coffee. There are four kayaks, swim mats, floats, paddle boat that are available.

- "My husband and I totally loved this cabin. We stayed for 5 days in late June, and couldn't have been happier. It is very well appointed, with everything you could need. When we checked in (a very easy process), the cabin was all set for our arrival. I admit that I did not cook all week, but I could have made a fine meal with the kitchen set up. Bathroom was spotless too. While we were there, there was a heat wave--temps up to 98 degrees. I was absolutely blown away by how the A/C worked in this cabin. After soaking up the sun on the sundeck, we went back to the cabin and cooled off. It was wonderful. And a unique feature of the cabin--a little screened in porch, complete with a view of the lake. We drank our coffee there every morning, and finished our day with a nightcap there every night. One drawback is that the cabin is the closest to the road. We could hear traffic whizzing by. Obviously this is not a criticism of the owners, but you should "know before you go". I will say that if you have the air conditioner on, the sound is diminished. All in all, a very enjoyable experience. We would love to return."

- "this time of year is the start of a busy summer, especially since Bike Week was extended for it's 100th anniversary. Suprisingly, the entire week was very peaceful. The other visitors in the area were very friendly as well. The owners don't bother you on a daily basis. For the most part, they let you know they are there if you need anything, and they are easy to contact if necessary. I loved sitting on the newly built deck to have my morning coffee and do some work before the heat increased. Good thing for air conditioning. Nonetheless, the private beach was my favorite part. Sitting on the dock and watching the boats go by was my second favorite. I will definitely be contacting Bob and his wife again to stay. It was the long awaited relaxations since COVID hit, that I needed to get back into reality."

Go swimming right from the house as there is a natural shoreline, that may feel a little squishy to your feet, but Webster Lake is crystal clear and so clean. There are two bedrooms upstairs that each have a double bed. The first floor bunk room has one queen, one twin and twin bunkbeds. This bedroom is two steps down from the main living space.

The kitchen has all you need to cook your own meals, including pots, pans, plates, flatware, bowls, and cups. Papertowels and cleaning supplies are also available.

It is well equipped with all the basics you need for home cooked meals: gas stove, microwave, full size fridge, dishwasher, dishes, glassware and cookware. You will also find: crockpot, toaster, instant pot, blender, and 2 types of coffee makers.

LIVING ROOM:
The open-concept kitchen/dining area/living room on the main floor is a great space for families or small groups to gather. The living room has a wingback arm chair & petite couch, TV with Chromcast to stream all your favorite movies, and high-speed WiFi (400MBPS). You will also find board games, books & puzzles. In the summer months a window AC unit is installed.

DINING:
Our dining table accommodates up to 6 people with the extra chair stored in the master closet.

BEDROOMS:
#1 -- on the main living level, near the bathroom; it has a California king bed, a bench, 2 nightstands, a dresser, portable fan, window AC unit for summer months, & large closet.

EXTERIOR SURROUNDINGS:
The cottage comfortably distanced between 2 neighbors with no neighbor directly in front. There is a small front and backyard. The backyard does open up to a larger open space and small wooded area.

PARKING:
The driveway has space for up to 4 vehicles, or less vehicles and a boat trailer if you'd like to bring yours.

Please note that very deep cleaning is completed before every guest check in including washing all linens and towels and disinfecting all surfaces. Our goal is to create a safe and clean haven for your visit.

Kids of all ages are welcome at your discretion, but the house does has a staircase, and gas stove in the kitchen.

There is one exterior security camera; facing the driveway/road located in the middle of the garage. These are primarily to ensure property maintenance is taken care of, and also double as a security measure and for our liability.

We will have boundary markers on each side of the house so you will know not to go into the neighbors property but our property is lovely and has a beautiful natural bridge that leads to the dock where you can swim, Fish, Paddle-board, kayak or canoe!

Other things to note
Clean bedding is provided 6 bath towels & 6 towels for the lake when it’s summertime there is also an on site washer and dryer to do your laundry. You will need to bring your own detergent and extra towels if desired. We do take inventory of all the towels, silverware glasses and dishes after each turnover. There is a TV in both bedrooms and the living room. All TVs have FREE Netflix and you can also stream from your device. The living room TV has basic cable TV. MAXIMUM guests 6 including children. We have a Keurig machine not a traditional coffee maker, so we recommend bringing your own Kcups of your favorite coffee or tea, we try to stock the bottom drawer of the Keurig when we are there but unfortunately some guest will use and not restock, so your better off bringing your own.

Come relax and enjoy the lake at this beautiful home. This delightful getaway was completely renovated in 2020 and has exquisite views of Lake Winnipesaukee and access to the property’s private waterfront and sandy beach area.

This cottage features an open-concept living room, dining room, and kitchen with a great screened porch overlooking the lake and mountains beyond. Enjoy boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, and lots more. The kitchen is fully equipped with a four-burner gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, and prep island.

Summer with friends or family on the lake is where memories are created. The wide dock and sandy beach make a wonderful place to do an early morning yoga routine as the sun rises or a relaxing place to swim, float, or soak up the sun. In the evening you can enjoy grilling and watching the sunset. The screened porch is the perfect place to play games, read a book, or simply look out on the water.

The fall foliage is a must-see in the Lakes Region. One can enjoy the fall colors from the comfort of the cottage. Fall is also an opportunity to rest, relax and read a good book as you sit on the couch enjoying the magnificent views of Lake Winnipesaukee.

There are two separate buildings on the property that can be rented. Besides this lovely Sunrise Cottage, there is a larger home that sleeps 10, Sunrise Bay, and together can be rented as the combined Sunrise Estate, sleeping 14 total.

With the beautiful views there are 5 flights of steps (78 steps in total) to get down to the private dock and beach area that our two buildings share. To make the trek easier, the slanted railings have a hard plastic cover for easy gripping and there is a bench half way down to rest if needed. Please be aware of this for any guests who may have limited mobility as they may not be comfortable accessing the private dock.
In the event there are separate parties renting either property, the private dock area and shed for trash disposal are shared areas.

The space
Each of the two bedrooms features a full-size bed, a dresser, and a space to hang your clothes. The living room includes a full-size pullout couch for additional sleeping arrangements. The bathroom is compact but fully equipped with provided toiletries. Please note, there is no bathtub—only a stand-up shower—Shower towels are provided! No beach towels on site.

Extra bed linens, a quilt, and kitchen towels are conveniently stored on the corner shelves in the bedrooms

Guests have full access to the private beach, all common areas, and two designated parking spaces, as shown in the photos. Please note that docks and boat slips are not available. Each cabin is assigned its own table and chairs for your convenience.

A dumpster is located at the top edge of the property along the main road. Please dispose of your trash there before leaving the property

Parker Cottage was updated in 2020. Our updates include a brand new bathroom, adorned with knotty pine on the ceilings and walls, new interior paint, new environmentally friendly floors, ship lap backsplash in the kitchen, and more! The cottage has a clean, rustic lakeside ambience keeping with the authentic character to ensure the perfect New Hampshire get-a-way vacation experience!

Our guests have access to your own stand alone cottage (end unit) steps from a sunny, pristine beach area to enjoy swimming, barbecue and lounging! Watch the many boats go by in the "no wake" zone through Paugus Bay! Our guests have two reserved parking spaces just steps to the front door! No heavy lifting...just pull up, unload, make a drink and relax! All vehicle identification must be sent prior to accepting a request to book. Make, model, color, license plate and state.

Other things to note
Parker Cottage is the largest and most up to date cottage to rent in the association. Parker Cottage is also an end unit with 500 sq. feet inside.

I do not provide sheets or bedspreads as a regular part of the service, (no linens). We also do not provide bath towels or beach towels. We do provide dish towels, paper towels, toilet paper and pillows.

Please note there are only two designated parking spots, marked 12 and 12.2 on the pavement side by side in front of the sheds.
There are no extra parking spaces. General Rules are QUIET HOURS between 10pm-8am; no pets, no fireworks, no open fires except to cook food on the barbecue grill which must be kept on the sand, no parties, no glass on the beach, no diving off the docks and no open flames such as burning of scented candles or incense inside the cottage.

At this time all boat docks are rented in the association however guests may want to check out Winnisquam Marine for renting and boat slips just across the channel. Many guests have enjoyed renting pontoon boats for the day. Guests can bring kayaks, paddle boards and/or canoes just store those under the cottage. Lots to do in the area, drive-in theater, fireworks every Saturday night starting July 3 through Aug. 15, watch right from your own beach!

Parker cottage is a seasonal rental starting around May 15 until the end of October. The cottage closes for the winter October 31.

A very nice cottage located on the shores of Crescent lake. The area is very private , feeling as if you are on an island . We have a small sandy beach with crystal clear water , perfect for children and parents . The walking trail is located directly behind the property , a fifteen minute walk to the center of Wolfeboro where you will find restaurants , shops , concerts and many more events . The cottage is 0.5 mile from the amazing new The Lake Estate on Winnisquam resort and close to a shopping center and restaurants at the Tanger outlet.
All the Lakes region activities are near by, 20 min from Laconia and Weirs Beach, mount Gunstock offers winter and summer activities, tons of activities to explore.

The space
Our cozy lakefront cottage is just steps away from the beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee. The main bedroom offers a double bed with a beautiful view of the water. The 2nd bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed. Also included is a full kitchen with 2 burner cooktop, refrigerator, microwave, 32" smart TV, Wifi, toaster, coffee pot, dishes, glasses and silverware. Heat and air conditioning included. Bear Cottage is a great place to catch up on reading, fishing, water sports or watching the sunset. Bring your floats, paddle boards and kayaks. Jets ski and boat rentals nearby however we do NOT have slips available.

This cottage sleeps a maximum of 5 people.

Our cherished family cabin has been in the family since 1912. This gem is lovingly known as camp nutmeg and arguably has the best view on the lake.

Enjoy a relaxing getaway sleeping steps away from the water. Nutmeg is known around the island for its large windows and large porch that creates the best spot to listen to the water or watching the summer thunderstorms roll in.

Can reach any town around the lake by boat!

The space
We have a guest parking pass at Glendale which you can use to park you're car.
There is limited 3 hour dock spaces for guests and use of boat launch. There is no trailer parking
but you could contact a local boat yard for trailer parking. We use Fayes boatyard in Gilford they charge 10 dollars a night when you launch your boat there for 30 dollars. We have a jet ski rack which is on the property available to use, but you would need to put it in when you get there and take it out when you leave.

Other things to note
Camp Nutmeg is owned by Christine, who is the 5th generation owner. Christine grew up on the lake and enjoys sunsets on the dock and boating to various restaurants along the lake for dinner.

VERY IMPORTANT
Our house is easy to spot however can be difficult to DOCK AT. This location is perfect for experienced boaters who *have their own boat* . We are surrounded by rock ledges and parking at the dock is only recommended for experienced boaters .

The water can get low in the fall. Experience boating in wind, rain, and sometimes low water is recommended.

Owner is happy provide more details on how to dock safely and location of rocks.

Restored 1821 Cape Cod Farmhouse with mountain and lake views, 1.1 miles from Gunstock ski resort, 10 minutes from Lake Winnipesaukee. Three bedrooms, 2 baths, plus family room with queen-size sofa bed and separate living room. Fully stocked kitchen adjacent to dining area. There is a gas ignition charcoal grill on private patio and access to an outdoor fire pit. Owner managed.

The space
Kitchen stocked for cooking with coffee maker, food processor, juicer, microwave, oven, dishwasher. Guests are welcome to use staples as needed. Downstairs bedroom can be made into 2 twin beds or King size bed. Narrow, original 1821 staircase leads to upstairs bedrooms and another full bath with expansive views of lake and mountains to the east.

Guests are welcome to use the garden and we provide Badminton and Croquet sets. Gunstock Resort, Ellacoya Park (on Lake) and other Lakes Region destinations as well as other ski resorts are within 60 minutes drive.

Other things to note
We have our share of wildlife: deer, wild turkeys, our resident Groundhog and even a Bobcat have been seen in the meadow down the hill from the house.

The entire property is yours to explore. Although the home sits on a smaller lot, the peninsula we are located on offers much to explore, including a local boat yard. Unfortunately the Gilford Public Beach is only for town residents. If you want a sandy beach to hang at, Ellacoya State Park Beach is only a few minutes down the road. There is a small charge to park. More information about the beach at Ellacoya State Park can be found at their website or through a quick google search.

You can also visit Weirs Beach, not only provides a fantastic place to swim but there is also great dining, shopping and entertainment.
