Quaint New England at its best! Experience ocean-front, cottage living in a historic, two-story architect-restored barn. It includes modern amenities while featuring a high ceiling of original barn board, as wide as 22 inches, pine-board flooring and either tongue-in-groove or barn-board paneling.

A front door foyer opens to stairs to the second story, to a rear bedroom with twin beds, and to a short hall that leads to a front bedroom with a double bed. A small study is off the front bedroom. Other first-floor rooms include the laundry and shower/toilet.

The second story is a single large room. An expanse of windows in the kitchen/dining areas provides a sweeping view of the ocean. Large windows at the rear of the living room offer unparalleled, panoramic views of a Mousam River tidal estuary and of trees and marshes in the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge. A door opens to a deck with chairs for leisurely observing wildlife and enjoying sunsets.

A stone's throw from Mother's beach and about a 2 mile walk from Mornings in Paris. The place was very clean and thoughtfully furnished. I particularly loved that all of the dishes were a matched set and there was a whole set of brand new food storage containers, as well, not someone's leftover haphazard dishes, glasses and mugs. The place itself was a little small for the 5 of us, and would be small if you are planning on spending most of your time in the house but we loved it and hope to return next year."

This home away from home is part of the Shorelands Resort and grants you access to a sparkling community pool that is perfect for swimming some laps. Inside the home, you can cook yummy meals, watch a cable show on the smart TV with streaming services, and stay connected with friends and family back home with free WiFi. If you want a bit of alone time in the evening, draw a bath in the jetted main tub and relax. The living room boasts a VIZIO smart TV, the main suite has a Samsung smart TV, and the second bedroom has an Emerson smart TV.

This home's location right on Western Avenue gives you easy access to all nearby towns, particularly Kennebunkport which is only two and a half miles north. Downtown is home to several shops, delicious restaurants, and a gorgeous marina. Explore the scenic hiking trails just over a mile south at Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, or hit up the greens of Webhannet Golf Club just two miles north. You can even walk just over a half-mile away to Parsons Beach where you can spend your summer days sunbathing and swimming in the Atlantic Ocean. A tidal river meets the ocean nearby where you can spend a day fishing. There is a trolley stop for the Shoreline Explorer in front of Shorelands that travels up and down the coastal communities including Wells, Kennebunkport, Ogunquit, York, and Sanford, so explore the surrounding area with ease.

Just a little over a mile south is the salt marshes of the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge where you can go bird-watching or conquer the hiking trails. Be sure to pack your golf clubs, because Webhannet Golf Club is only two miles from your front door. Another half-mile north you will find downtown Kennebunkport where you can dine and shop to your heart's content. And Ogunquit is only nine miles away, offering unlimited activities and shops.
