This is a cozy rustic guest cottage with a view of the marsh and fall colors (and sunsets). Our main house is on the property, but privacy is assured.
It has a loft bedroom with a queen-sized bed and an adjacent full bath (shower, no tub). To reach the loft is a steep staircase (not a ladder).
Downstairs, the living-dining area has a dining table and a sitting area with a comfy daybed for reading and napping. The generous screened porch has lovely views of the tidal salt marsh, forest, and sunsets. Nature’s chorus forms the soundtrack—we have an array of non-human neighbors.
The kitchen has a refrigerator, oven, range, coffee maker, and microwave. It also has glassware, dishes, silverware, basic pots, pans, and cooking implements. No dishwasher.
There is Broadband Wifi, AC window units upstairs & down (seasonal availability, summer only), and electric heat.
We are not far off the main road (Route 127), and you can hear occasional traffic if the windows are open, but it’s rare to hear cars or trucks at night. You are more likely to be awakened by owls or coyotes or perhaps the early morning calls of geese, crows, and other birds.
Just minutes from historic downtown Bath shops and restaurants, the Maine Maritime Museum, Maine’s First Ship, and the Saturday Farmer’s Market. It is a short drive to Reid State Park (beach walks) and a dozen nature trails. Walking distance to Sewall Pond (freshwater swimming).
It's under an hour from Portland or Rockland. Fifteen minutes to Brunswick and Bowdoin College. Twenty minutes to Reds Eats. And less than 3 hours from Acadia National Park.
- "Great property, great host, just as described." - "We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage over Memorial Day weekend! The location was perfect — peaceful and relaxing, yet close enough to everything we needed. The cottage itself was beautifully appointed and stocked with everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. We especially loved spending quiet mornings and evenings reading on the lovely porches, enjoying the serene surroundings. The grounds were beautifully maintained and added to the overall sense of calm and escape.A special thank you to the hosts for allowing us a late checkout, which made our departure day so much smoother and more relaxed. We truly appreciated the thoughtful touches and hospitality throughout our stay. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a cozy and peaceful getaway!"

- "Loved the cottage, its location, all the amenities. Deb thinks of everything-cottage and kitchen amazingly supplied. Wonderful week at the Cove!" - "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The property was one of the nicest we have found to suit our needs and really did include everything we wanted. The view was great! It was private considering there are residences all around, but we hardly saw or heard anyone the whole time. We found the location to be a great hub for all the things we love to do -- like Popham Beach, Morse Mountain to Sewell Beach and of course restaurants. I highly recommend this site!!"

- "Great stay! Can’t wait to come back!" - "Comfortable and cozy beach bungalow. Nice spot with big ocean views. It was wonderful to fall asleep to the sound of the waves." - "Cottage was immaculately clean, and the ocean view was outstanding! Almost felt like we were IN the surf, but hearing it 24/7 was a treat! Had a wonderful week at beautiful Popham Beach!!" - "We absolutely loved to walk on the beach which extended for miles in either direction. We came to enjoy watching the seals by Fort Popham, and would visit them everyday -- to the extent that we went at 7 am on the day we left! The cottage was small, but fine for the two of us. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We were there before Memorial Day, so there weren't many restaurants open -- but we planned ahead, and stocked up in Bath, so we didn't need anything. It was early in the season, so pretty much all that was available in foodstuffs was salt and pepper, but that was fine. We would like to return at some later date!"

On the western shore of a private peninsula, this one bedroom cottage is the perfect place to get away from it all and relax. Surrounded by conservation land, the area abounds with wildlife.
There is a hiking trail along water's edge and also kayaks or canoes for rent to explore the waterways.
The cottage has the warmth of wood floors, wood beamed ceilings and comfortable furnishings to add to your relaxation. The screened in porch makes a great place to watch the sun setting over the water.
There is a queen size bed in the bedroom. The futon in the living room converts to a bed for additional sleeping accommodations.
For those who desire to stay 'plugged in' we offer basic television channels and wifi.
The kitchen is complete with full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster and coffee pot not to mention all the pots, pans, dishes and utensils you will need. If you enjoy to BBQ there is a grill just outside the front door. For lobster lovers we have a large pot available for you to cook them fresh in your cottage.
The Midcoast area of Maine is known for its miles of white sandy beaches and Lobster wharfs where you can enjoy their famous lobster dinners on the dock as you watch the lobstermen bringing in their catch for the day. What makes the midcoast so appealing is the fact that you get to enjoy all this without the crowds. You will love the slower pace of life and the pristine beauty of this untouched area.
- "I loved everything about this cottage. Location is perfect if you want a tranquil place to recharge your batteries. Surrounded by woods with a porch overlooking the tidal river. Can't get better than this. Close enough to the quaint town of Bath and Georgetown where you can visit the beautiful Reid National Park. Would definitely return." - "Quiet and peaceful" - "this is a perfect little cottage. it is big enough for two and to invite two more people for dinner. there is enough of everything: dishes, cutlery, towels, and if you're missing something, you can call Katie who responds quickly and helpfully. the star of this cottage is a screened in porch that increases the space of the first floor by another third. it is comfortable and gives onto the river, a tidal river that reverses course with the tides and provided me with endless fascination. while there are other cottages quite close, from the porch, you can't see them, and i rarely heard them. the cottage is wooded, so it stays pretty cool in the heat of the day and the screened-in porch catches whatever breezes may wander by. if there is a downside, it is that you are right off 127, the main drag through Georgetown and there is traffic noise all day and sometimes into the night. that said, it is hardly blastingly loud, just a noticeable rumble that might get in your way as you're listening to the birds. i appreciated the pass to Maine's Parks (and used it to visit Reid's Park at the end of Georgetown) and the history of the place (thanks Sam, for the stories!)."

On the first day, a local fisherman caught a large tuna and it was a highly festive occasion as everyone in the village came out to greet the boat when it arrived. The folks where incredibly welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this special spot on the sea." - "We had a great, great time at this cottage.
