The staff works very hard to accommodate what you need not only for your living quarters but your trip too, including recommending drivers, aurora tour guides, dog sledding etc. The property has SO many amenities, you almost can't keep track of it all. But strangely right as I was about to go up to our room she started telling me all the things that we’re opened or closed for the winter. This non verbal or non pleasant greeting is not going to deter us from staying there again but I’m thinking she just might want to improve on that for her future paying guests , it makes it more comfortable all around in the long run of a stay. In my opinion of course."

Only a few things to work on, the pool was in shambles in the morning before we left. - "We stayed here after a cruise. It was so roomy and great to be able to spread out after a small cruise cabin. Breakfast was also much better than your normal hotel breakfast. The only complaint we had, was that we were on the street side of the hotel, and it definitely was loud from the street noise. - "Came from Fairbanks for a small getaway and training, the people that worked there were very polite and happy to interact with. They were very helpful with everything." - "Recently updated hotel within walking distance to Alaska railroad and dining." - "As everyone has noted, the property is undergoing renovation. So, it will look amazing when it is ready. At the moment, the inside is as good as perfect while the outside is being renovated. The staff was quite helpful. Many thanks for that! The breakfast is basic which makes sense since parts of the inside are also being renovated. So, only cold stuff is available. But, there are a small handful of really nice breakfast places nearby. The parking is plentiful in spite of areas blocked due to renovation but would be nice to have one of the entrances behind the building opened so that people arriving late at night do not have to walk for several minutes from the parking to the inside. May be a good idea to replace sliding door of bathroom with a regular door that opens into the room - will result in better privacy if traveling with friends, etc. The current door does not do a good job and removes one of public bathrooms. The hotel is very close to the Alaska rail depot so be prepared for very loud noises from the trains very early in the day. Perhaps could be mitigated with thicker windows?"

The space
The station is located on 4th Ave and Jefferson, which is walking distance to the town's best shops, restaurants, and bars. We've updated the interior for a modern and cozy aesthetic, while maintaining some of the building's rich history through the original wood beam ceilings and rearranged lettering from the previous Ranger Station sign. We offer six private bedrooms with scenic views of the surrounding area, new queen beds, and vanities in each. There are four shared half baths (two showers and two toilets) and one shared full bath. Clean linens, towels, and basic amenities (on-street parking, wifi, shampoo/conditioner, and fresh coffee) included.
