The concierge contacted us to confirm our reservation as opposed to a computer generated email. I let him know this was a milestone birthday for my husband and when we returned to the room our second night we found a bottle of champagne, a real bday card signed by several staff members and a delicious piece of chocolate cake. Room service that we had set up the day called to let us know they would be late (but only by ten minutes; this was Jan1st and the hotel was pretty full. Every staff member very respectful. We spent Christmas Eve in the rooftop hot tub, overlooking the festively decorated San Antonio Riverwalk. The location is unmatched. Once you walk out of the hotel, you are literally on the Riverwalk only a short distance to many restaurants and stores. We also took advantage of the in-house spa services and enjoyed a couple's massage on one of our first days at the property. Overall the experience was outstanding.
