Located in the core of Girdwood, it's a short walk to restaurants, coffee shops, nature trails, disc golf course, library, the brewery and more. (Note: Girdwood is 45 minutes from Anchorage).

Each bedroom has a queen bed with high quality linens and multiple types of pillows, and a full length mirror. The primary bedroom has a workstation to take virtual meetings or emails, separate from the main living area. The chaise in the primary bedroom is waiting for you to read a great book or take an afternoon nap. The bathrooms have towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and hair dryer.

Rain or shine, The Seymour is light and bright inside and is a special place to relax and unwind, especially after a day outside in AK. Views from the many windows look out to mountains, trees, a creek and even glaciers. Sit outside on one of two private decks and enjoy the scenery in the fresh air. A three person hot tub is on the back deck.

There are great restaurants in Girdwood, but if you choose to cook, we have what you’ll need. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, microwave, high end pots and pans, baking dishes, waffle maker, and over 20 spices. Clean up is made easy with a full size dishwasher and large sink.

Full size washer and dryer is on the top floor by the bedrooms. Laundry soap, a small ironing board and iron included.

The Seymour is in a quiet building of five townhouses in the downtown core of Girdwood. It’s on three levels with stairs going to each. This is a great spot for couples or a family with older children. There is parking for up to two vehicles included with the unit. (Guests do not have access to the garage). Access to the townhouse is using the keypad on the front door. You won't have to carry keys during your stay.

In the pantry, you’ll find tennis rackets and balls, a pickleball set and frisbee/disc golf set to use at the courts and course just a five minute walk from the place. There’s also a can of bear spray to take with you on your outdoor adventures, during your stay. If you want to stay inside, there's a Smart TV; log in to your favorite streaming service. (No local cable provided). There's also books, puzzles, and some board games to use during your stay.

Safety: There are smoke and carbon monoxide detectors inside the townhome. We have a security camera/recording device on the front and back exterior doors. There is a creek/open water behind the townhome. There are multiple flights of stairs.

The owners have cats that periodically are inside The Seymour when the owners stay at the property in the winter. We are not currently accepting pets during guest stays. Fall 2025: Construction is happening on a commercial building in the front part of the lot. The building is framed and roof is going on mid-October. When they do work, it is typically weekdays during business hours.

Getting Around:
You will need a vehicle or arrange shuttle services to Girdwood. There is very limited access to Ride Share from Girdwood. Plan on taking the train, there is the Girdwood shuttle, but plan on waiting a bit and there are no covered bus or shuttle areas. Grocery and services are limited in Girdwood, please plan accordingly.

This tiny, cozy house in the woods. Open the window to sounds of birds and nearby California Creek. Watch for the occasional passing moose. The couch on the main floor pulls out to a full size bed. In the loft, a queen size bed offers guests plenty of privacy. Enjoy a short walk to local restaurants, bars, coffee shop, laundromat and post office.

Our main floor offers a nice place to relax after a day of skiing, hiking, running or biking. Surrounded by our local temperate rainforest, enjoy a cozy couch, a warm cup of tea and some quality chill time while eyeing some of the artwork - lots of it is local. Grab a good book from our ever growing guest library if you please. *Please note that our space does not include a kitchenette, refrigerator or cooking utensils.*

A tiny spiral staircase takes you up to a sleeping loft that looks out over our temperate rainforest forest above a small creek. *Please note that our staircase is tiny and could be difficult to navigate for some people. We do not recommend this space for small children.*

Enjoy a good night’s sleep on a luxury queen size mattress. But do watch your head, as the small space offers only a maximum six feet of headroom.

Our freshly remodeled bathroom is *DETACHED* from the living space, but will only be a viable to you and is not shared during your stay and will remain locked from inside the main house and where you can soak in a 120 year old, antique cast-iron claw foot tub, just head out the back door and up a few stairs. *Please note our bathtub is more than century old, so its enamel is not as shiny as it used to be.*

Amenities include heated floors, a full shower and the entrance has a private key code.

*Please note, the bathroom is only accessible by way of stairs. There is a door that connects internally to the main house, but will remain locked during the duration of a guests stay, barring any issues or problems that may arise.*

Conveniently located within walking distance to chair 4. One block from day lodge parking lot. Comfortably sleeps four but can accommodate more. Queen in master bedroom. And twin over full in second bedroom. Couch in living room pulls out too. Great for one or two couples or small family. This is the lower unit of duplex. The upstairs unit is rented long term to Girdwood professionals. Have your own kitchen and put the kids in their own bedroom. There is a hot tub for your use.

Come stay with us! We are a local year round family hosting visitors in a private studio space in our home.

We provide a clean, comfortable, yet basic studio with its own private entrance, full kitchen, and full bathroom.

The space has a rustic cabin like vibe, and is located a short stroll from Alyeska Resort, hiking trails, restaurants, and the local brewing company.

We can help plan all the best local adventures. Then you can dry your gear by the gas fireplace at the end of the day!

The space
This is a private studio on the lower level of our home. It is accessed through an “Arctic Entry” aka “Mud Room”. It also has its own secure private entrance to the rental unit.

We live upstairs but use a separate entrance on the second level outside when hosting.

This is a great space to start or end your longer trip on the Kenai Peninsula, Chugach National Forest, and Prince William Sound.

We have a full kitchen space and room for food preparation, gear organizing, and resources for planning the final details of your trip planning needs to start your trip.

We have gear drying space, full bathroom, washer/ dryer, and space to hang and sort your gear and repack your stuff prior to departure.

We are 45 minutes from Ted Stevens (Anchorage) International Airport.

Guest access
The unit includes one dedicated parking space directly outside the unit.

Access to the property is through a coded entry door with a separate lockable door to the rental unit.

We can provide an in person “check in”; or just chat on the phone or do a FaceTime call if you prefer or our schedules do not align for a “meet and greet”.

We can address late checkout or early arrival request on a case by case basis, just shoot us a message!

Other things to note
This unit is a great local Girdwood Base Camp to explore all the local day trip adventures, or to use to pack and organize for bigger trips and expeditions on the Kenai Peninsula and Prince William Sound.

Your host is a professional guide and outdoor educator and can provide additional services through his independent outdoor program: Local Knowledge Outdoor EdVentures.

This includes paddle sports guiding, instruction, trip planning, and logistics support for all local outdoor pursuits based on land or water.

This is an apartment on the top floor of our home in Girdwood with views of Alyeska, Fishes Breath, and Maxes Mountains. It is one mile from Alyeska ski resort, and near Virgin Creek Falls.

It's a one bedroom with a king bed, full bath, kitchen, TV in the bedroom, and a kitchen table and couch. It is accessible by walking up two flights of stairs on the outside of the house.

We live downstairs with a toddler who you will likely hear. Sometimes four wheel drive is needed in heavy snow.

The space
One bedroom, one bath, kitchen, dining table, and small couch.

The bed is the only official sleeping space, but if you have additional kids that can sleep on a sleeping pad you bring or on the couch, go for it!

Entire top floor apartment, and little deck.

Other things to note
We do live in the house below, and we have a toddler that you will likely hear.

If you have a two wheel drive car and it snows a lot coupled with no plowing, it might be a challenge to get up Saint Johann Loop rd and/or get up our driveway once you go down it.

If it does snow a lot, we will remove snow to make sure you can get up the driveway, but we want to be conscientious. If you are willing to let us know when you plan to head out in the morning, we can make sure the driveway is clear for you. And if you want to sleep in, let us know that too so that we don't make too much shoveling/snow blowing noise outside too early.

I drive a two wheel drive car and make it work all but a few days of the year.
