One mile of gravel driveway leads to The Rustic Cabin in the midst of the Black Hills surrounded on two sides by Forest Service. There are hiking trails leading into the forest service directly from the cabin and if you are lucky and walk quietly you will see deer, jack rabbits, turkey and possibly elk.

Take a break from technology as there is no WIFI and limited cell service. Instead in the evenings enjoy star gazing from the porch or gazebo. Or take a short drive to the historic gambling town of Deadwood five miles north on Hwy 385.

Inside, you'll find a fully stocked kitchen with a stove, oven, dorm size refrigerator, beverage refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle, toaster and a grill on the covered front porch, allowing you to easily prepare delicious meals. Relax in the living room and unwind with the Bose wave radio or a movie on the DVD player. There is a view of the pond and gazebo from the covered front porch of the cabin. During the dry months of July & August the pond is very low as it fluctuates due to the water table.

Because the nighttime temperature range in the mid 40’s to 50’s we do not offer air conditioning.

There is trailer parking for your ATV, side x side or motorcycle trailer. Just go past the driveway that leads to the cabin then straight ahead towards the gazebo to park your trailer.

The Black Hills motorized trail system can be accessed at the Steel Wheel Gas and Convenience store located 1 mile south from the cabin on Hwy 385. A permit is needed to use the Forest Service trail system. Permits are available for purchase at Steel Wheel. As of July 2024, Forest Service closed trail 538.1G and trail 247.1E which were used to access the motorized trail system from the cabin.

Our home is also on the property and you will see it first as you cross through the gate. The cabin has its own driveway access and is separated from our home by the small pond, gazebo and campfire area. Our nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away.

Bill designed and built the cabin which he finished in 2018. The cabin measures 12 × 26 with a 10 x 12 loft, a full bath, kitchen and a queen size bed in the loft (an earlier guest commented that the open stairs are steep). The living room area has a reclining couch and a comfortable recliner. The Samsung smart TV’s reception is by antenna with local channels.

With a babbling stream outside your door, surrounded by lush pine forest, and a toasty living room fireplace, you may never feel the need to leave. But if you do decide to venture out, you’ll be less than 20 minutes from some of the state’s best attractions, including ski slopes at Terry Peak, mountain hikes in Spearfish Canyon, and the steakhouses, saloons and museums of historic downtown Deadwood.

- and a newly-finished bunkhouse with a queen-sized bed under a lofted twin approximately 20 yards from the main cabin. Guests are welcome to use the bunkhouse to sleep a number of people beyond what the cabin can accommodate.
There will be a $45 fee charged to cover the cost of additional cleaning and laundry as well as heating the building for use.
To avoid the user fee, do not enter the bunkhouse.

The cabin is nestled under tall pines on the edge of a strikingly beautiful and secluded Black Hills meadow. The view from the front porch across a sweep of pasture, ringed by steep rock ridges and dense pine and spruce, is punctuated by a sheer white limestone cliff rising in the distance. This private little valley is graced by Jim Creek. The diverse flora and quietly tumbling creek attract a wide variety of Black Hills animals and birds.

This NEW construction one level cabin is appropriately named Sunset Ridge. The view from the entire property but especially the deck is incredible. If you are looking for a secluded cabin in the woods but yet 5 miles away from Lead/Deadwood, this cabin is for you. There are limited houses on our road with acres and acres in between. The only house in view is the Main House but still far enough away for you to have total privacy.

This beautiful cabin was designed with comfort in mind. No expense was spared in construction or decorating. You will feel like a pioneer in the cabin but with all the modern day amenities. There is a wood fireplace for you to snuggle up next to on those chilly nights. We will provide some firewood to get you started. Additional firewood bundles may be purchased at the grocery store. The kitchen boasts a large island so you won't be cramped on space while preparing food. High end appliances finish off the kitchen area. Any type of kitchen gadget you can think of is included in this kitchen. There are two wonderfully sized bedrooms both including their own ensuite bathrooms. Washer and dryer is available as well for you to use and soap is provided. The living area has a smart TV for streaming all your favorite movies. Board games are also there for your enjoyment. The entire North, South and West sides of this cabin is windows. Like I said, the views are stunning. The west side opens onto the deck. This is large enough for all your gatherings. There is a BBQ grill for you to use as well as patio furniture. This will definitely be the favorite spot of the house.

Parking is not a problem for those bringing trailers with ATV/snowmobiles. You can ride directly from this cabin onto the neighboring off road trails. The Mickelson Trail is a short distance from the cabin if you enjoy hiking and biking. There is a heated 2 car garage for you to use. You have an incredible view of Terry Peak Ski Resort which is a few short miles away.

There are acres and acres available for exploring. You will see plenty of wildlife including: Elk, deer, turkeys, mountain lions (be aware of your surroundings), squirrels, coyotes, etc. Please note there is NO HUNTING on our property.

There is approx 5 miles of well maintained gravel roads to get to our cabin. If snow is expected before or during your stay, 4x4 or AWD vehicles are necessary.

No campers, tents or outdoor fires are allowed. No indoor smoking, pets or parties. There is a $500 fine for violations. Security cameras are located outside the home for added security.

The main area provides seating for at least 10 persons with a counter and stools combining the kitchen with the dining area and main living room area. There is a king bed and one of the couches is a queen sofa sleeper in the area with a separate bedroom with another king bed. Extra bedding is located in the closet in the bedroom.

The kitchen has most of the basic kitchenware/cookware/dining ware that may be needed to grill or cook. There are a few staples in the cupboard and fridge for your use.

Check-in is any time after 4pm the day of your scheduled arrival. Check-out time is any time before 11am, mountain time.

It is not necessary to meet anyone to obtain access or keys and allows you the freedom to depart according to your travel schedule. This unit has an electronic deadbolt with an access code. The code will be sent along with the check-in details.

- "Greg did not exaggerate his listing. His property is nestled between the soaring canyon walls of Spearfish Canyon. Breathtaking views are not only beheld at the lodge, but all along route 14 from Spearfish to Lead. We encountered mountain goats daily (sometimes twice!) when we were traversing the route. Saw many deer around the property and of course, plenty of other wildlife. We spent our early morning drinking coffee and watching the deer as well as several different birds of prey soar along the canyon walls. Evenings were spent relaxing on the deck if we weren’t in Deadwood or Sturgis. There is plenty to do around the lodge. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, plenty of trails await you. We strongly suggest a trek to Devil’s bathtub and both Roughlock and Spearfish falls. If hiking isn’t your thing, various business offer Polaris and other rentals. Deadwood is a short 30 minute drive from the lodge. Mt Rushmore was about 1 hr and 30 minutes, as was Custer state park and Crazy Horse. Needles Highway is a must if you wish to see as much indigenous wildlife as possible. Plenty of bison, goats, deer, coyotes, etc. Greg is a personable and knowledgeable host. Very friendly and full of advice. He’s lived in the area for a long time and certainly can guide you to whatever adventure you seek. Thanks again, Greg! We plan on visiting often!"

- "Family of 4 ( 2 adults, 2 six year olds) -We stayed for a couple of days on our long road trip back from Colorado to Wisconsin. We wanted to explore Deadwood a bit. This place is a bit of a drive to an from town, but it was a nice place to retreat at the end of the day. It was well-kept, clean, and we had no issues with anything. I would just note that neither the wifi nor cell service is particularly good. We brought some games to play, and enjoyed watching a movie on Dish. There’s a restaurant/campsite down the road where you can catch fish and have it cooked, and it was excellent! Highly recommended."

This newly renovated, 250 sq ft studio is located on our main property but is separated by a privacy fence and has its own private drive and patio. It is two blocks from downtown shops, entertainment, coffeehouses and restaurants.

It is minutes from Spearfish Canyon, walking distance to the Spearfish City Park & Historic DC Booth Fish Hatchery, a 15-minute drive to Deadwood, a 20-minute drive to Sturgis, 1-hour to Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park and a 25-minute drive to all the winter sports the hills has to offer.

The kitchen has all utensils, pantry items, dishes and pots/pans you will need for your stay and a local, family-owned grocery store w/ spirits is located less than a block away for a quick trip to stock the fridge.

The bedroom/living space has a queen size murphy bed with a couch, chairs and a 50” smart TV for plenty of room if you decide to stay in and hangout.

This luxury cabin sits creek side within 14 private wooded mountainous acres of silence and bliss. The porch embodies the Black Hills beauty, history and majesty. The rock outcroppings and goldmine on site speak to the rich history and rugged natural beauty found only in the Black Hills. The home sits just a few miles outside the town of Deadwood and is at a higher elevation than Deadwood itself so we materially see more snow than Deadwood. The winters are harsh and unpredictable. It can and does snow anytime between September 15th and June 15th. There are 2 bedrooms. The master has a king size log bed and is on the 2nd floor with a private bathroom. The guest bedroom has a queen size bed and is on the 1st floor. There is a day bed in the loft that is 72" x 38" and suitable for a child or small adult. There is a 1st floor full bathroom just outside the guest bedroom. The house itself sits in a gulch and is creek side. It is surrounded by high mountain rims and tall trees so shade dominates the house. There are 7 OUTDOOR security camera's that alert us to guest arrivals, cleaners, vendors, deliveries, propane and wood deliveries and weather conditions (especially important to weather conditions and plow activity). One is located in the creek bed to monitor flooding under the bridge, one is under the deck to monitor the snow melting equipment. One is positioned to cover the front door and one the back door. Another monitors the driveway area while the last covers the back of the house hillside and LP tanks. NONE are inside the home, and all are turned off once a guest arrives and turned on again once a guest leaves. Mountain lions, hunters and gold seekers sometimes wonder onto the property, we monitor those activities for your and the home's safety. We respect your privacy and have no interest in your leisure time, only your safety.

We do not meet guests personally, we have the Nest system with our home and you will be given an access code to use when you arrive. We are located in town should you need us for anything during your stay.

We are located just off the highway, yet on a quiet street. This is the upstairs unit in a complex that is being converted to an Airbnb community! We are walking distance to downtown, parks, groceries, restaurants/coffee, fuel and more! If you need recommendations for anything, please don`t hesitate to ask! There is parking directly in front of the unit as well as on the side of the building (see picture for details)

You are close to great hiking and biking at Lookout Mountain, Crow Peak, and the Spearfish Canyon.

IMPORTANT: No smoking of any kind is allowed on the property. This includes cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, vaping, marijuana, etc Should this rule be violated, the guest will be liable for a minimum $250 charge plus the cost to have the house remediated by a professional cleaning company.

Quiet hours are between 9 pm and 8 am.

General Damages
Please let us know immediately if something is malfunctioning so it can be rectified. All damages or missing items occurring during your stay will need to be paid for by you before departure. Cleaners check for damages and any missing items after each stay. Any damages or missing items can and will be billed to the guest.

Fire Prevention and Safety
Please do not leave any electrical appliances switched on when they are not in use, or when you are leaving for the day. This includes space heaters, air conditioners, fans, hair curlers/straighteners and
portable device chargers.

Other
The space you are booking is good for 16 people. No one is allowed in the home not already specified before starting the stay. If guests are found to be having/had a party without the host's permission which results in extra cleaning, guests will be responsible for extra cleaning charges and GUESTS WILL BE ASKED TO VACATE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY.

We may leave consumables such as coffee and small snacks for you to enjoy. We try our very best to ensure that it is not expired or stale. However, ultimately, it is up to the guests' discretion and inspection to consume these items if they wish. The host does not take any responsibility for the consumables.

If guests are suspected of carrying and/or using illegal drugs, intoxicated, or acting in a manner that is dangerous to others or the property of any kind, the authorities will be engaged, and GUESTS WILL BE ASKED TO VACATE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY.

Lastly, because this is an Airbnb community, not a hotel, please be respectful of the property and keep it clean before you leave.

Enjoy comfort, space, and style in this recently renovated 6-bedroom, 3.5-bath home nestled in the heart of beautiful Spearfish, South Dakota. With over 3,100 square feet of living space and room for up to 15 guests, it’s the perfect home base for families, friend groups, or anyone looking to explore the Black Hills in style.

The home offers a flexible layout with 3 king beds, 1 queen, a twin-over-full bunk, a two-twin bedroom, and a brand-new pull-out sleeper sofa. Two spacious living areas—each with a 65” high-def TV—make it easy to spread out and relax, whether you're watching a movie, cheering on your team, or playing games.

The enclosed sunroom features a ping pong table for indoor fun, while the peaceful backyard patio is perfect for grilling and unwinding after a day of adventure.

You’re just one block from Black Hills State University and a short walk to downtown Spearfish’s shops, restaurants, and breweries. Take a scenic drive to iconic destinations like Deadwood and Sturgis—just 20 minutes away—or explore nearby hiking, fishing, and outdoor adventures in the Black Hills.

Large bedroom in historic 1905 bed and breakfast style house! Renovating part of the house, but the bedroom is complete. Access to shared kitchen, dining room, living room, and bath room. 3 miles from Deadwood and 3 miles from the base of Terry peak! Great location to enjoy the northern Black Hills.

This is a mountain town; houses are crooked and streets are narrow, but that’s what gives it its charm.

Pets are allowed with a $20.00 pet fee, this will be charged after booking.

The space
Welcome to our old home! This is not an investment property, we live in the house and are making renovations with the money we earn via AirBnB. Owning an old home, especially one built before electricity and plumbing, is not for the faint of heart!

As you can see, we try to keep the cost of staying here as affordable as possible. We want to offer an affordable place for all travelers. However, this makes our renovation process go a little slower. We have an ever growing list on our to-do list and hope you stay with us multiple times to enjoy seeing the progress!

Guest access
Guests have shared access to the kitchen, dining room, and living room. There is also a small yard next to the house for you to use.

During your stay
We live on-site at the house, however we are hardly home or stay on the third floor away from guests. Both of our businesses keep us away from the home and all over the Black Hills. Unless we do not have cell reception, we will respond ASAP.

Other things to note
The the main floor is being renovated. I try not to work on it when guests are here, but I may have some stuff out.

Maple Street Guest Suite | A spacious master bedroom with a private entrance. The unit features a Tempur-Pedic king size bed, large walk-in closet, and an ensuite bathroom with a full tub and shower. A kitchenette includes a fridge, microwave, and Keurig. Indoor and outdoor dining areas, along with a grill, are also provided for your enjoyment.

Located in a quiet neighborhood near downtown Whitewood , it’s the perfect spot to relax after exploring the Black Hills or enjoying local events.

The space
Maple street guest suite is a spacious master bedroom with a private keypad protected entrance. This is a secondary unit on the lower level of our home. My family and I live on the main level of the home- you will likely hear my littles running around from time to time during the daytime. We do have quite hours from 10pm-7am. This guest suite has a cozy Tempru-Pedic bed, large walk-in closet, ensuite bathroom with a large bathtub & shower. There is a kitchenette, fridge, microwave, Keurig, indoor/outdoor dining area & grill provided.

Other things to note
I have a dog Charlotte an Old English Bulldogge and a cat named Jewelz, but they are not allowed in the guest areas and you will likely not have the opportunity to meet them as our yard space is separated from the guest unit outdoor space.

Quiet time is 10pm-7am as I do have young children. This doesn’t mean that you can’t check in late or come and go at anytime, that doesn’t bother us at all. Just keep in mind that we may have sleeping little ones. For this reason we do not tolerate unauthorized guests or parties. Because we live on the main level you will hear us as I do have three small children and a teenager. We do our best to keep the noise level down when guests are here. But when the kids get excited and run around you can hear that. We do have quite times from 10p-7a.

In case of an emergency with our water or electrical we will need to gain access to this guest suite as the water shut off for the whole house and one of our electrical panels is located in this unit.

AVAILABLE for LONG TERM ONLY. We recently discovered that this section of the house had served as a former miner's cabin in the late 1800's. We converted this room into sleeping quarters.

The space
Two comfortable half king (twin) beds perfect for family or friends traveling together. The room has no private door but full length curtains for privacy. The bathroom is shared with Bob, my polite and considerate fulltime housemate. He works some nights so your paths might not even cross.

Guest access
Kitchen, dining room, and living room (all on the main floor) along with the rockers and swing on the front porch, hammock in the yard and lounging chairs at the patio. The den next to your bedroom has a loveseat and chair along with a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. I also have a garage for motorcycles or bicycles, if needed.

During your stay
If desired, I offer breakfast and am available on site to answer any questions and assist you in planning your sightseeing. In the rare event I am not here, Bob, my polite full time housemate will check you in.

Great location! Just a minute's walk from downtown. Quaint and clean bedroom/bathroom private room in a quiet neighborhood, with a comfy queen bed, tons of natural lighting, and private entrance! There's a closet and luggage rack, as well as a mini fridge, water kettle, and coffee/ tea station (no full kitchen access— sorry!).

The space
Single bedroom with attached bathroom. A mini fridge and hot water kettle are in the room. Guests share a wall with the main house, but the room is private, and with no access to the main house.

The space
The comfortable queen bed assures a restful sleep. During the summer, an air conditioner in the room keeps it cool. In your private den you'll enjoy relaxing in the leather reclining loveseat. My spacious home also allows for plenty of privacy if desired or other sitting areas on the main floor and outside to enjoy conversation.

You will have access to the main floor living room, dining room, and kitchen. I also have a garage for motorcycles or bicycles if needed. (Ask about availability). Outside comforts include rockers, porch swing, hammock, and patio chairs.

I'm just a 20 minute drive, phone call, or email away so I'm available to answer questions and offer information on the numerous sites and attractions to take in.

Other things to note
The various parades go right by the house and my home is walking distance to great restaurants, breweries, Black Hills Mining Museum and historical attractions: Historic Homestake Opera House and the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center.

Relax and unwind at the the Arthur Street Guest Suite. Located in the quaint town of Whitewood in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. This guest suite has a private entrance, king size bed, en suite bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee pot. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Located within walking distance from the historic Bullwacker’s Saloon and Steakhouse and beautiful Oak Park where you can spot wildlife including deer and turkey and hike an easy trail.

The space
My family and I live on this property but will be in a separate unit on the main level of the home. This guest suite has a private entrance a king-size bed, en suite bathroom, a mini fridge, a microwave, a toaster and coffee pot. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Basic toiletries are provided. A smart TV has Netflix, Hulu, and Disney Plus access. Longer term stays are available September-March for up to 6 months.

There are three steps to get into the house. And then two steps down once inside the unit.

I have an Old English Bulldogge Charlotte, and a cat named Jewelz. My pets are not allowed in the guest units. Charlotte will be outside in the shared yard space from time to time. She is very friendly and we do our best to keep her out of your way. We do not leave her unattended in the yard. We are unable to accommodate pets as Charlotte is not keen on sharing the yard with other animals.

Quiet time is 10 pm-7 am as I do have young children. This doesn’t mean that you can’t check in late or come and go at any time, that doesn’t bother us at all. Just keep in mind we have sleeping little ones. My house is not quiet during the day as I do have two young children and a teenager. We do the best we can to keep the noise level down when guests are here, but you will hear us.

Blocks away from the closest casino and all Historic Main Street as to offer the original door of this Historic Victorian home still hangs and greets guests to the newly renovated Top Floor Suite of Norgaard House. Up to (4) four guests can enjoy all the amenities of home including Washer/Dryer, Private Outdoor Porch, Full Kitchen, Newly Renovated Bathroom, Flat Screen HDTV, and Wi-Fi all minutes away from downtown Historic Deadwood. Live like a local and play like one too at Norgard House.
