This listing is perfect for the family coming to the Raystown Lake area. This house is just three miles from the Seven Points recreation area that includes access to public boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, dining, camping, and biking on the Allegrippis Trails.

The house features two bedrooms and one full bath with an updated Bath Fitter tub and shower unit with sterdy safety bars. The main bedroom offers a queen sized bed, while the other bedroom has twin sized bunk beds and another twin bed separate from the bunks. New windows were installed in July 2022 for even more efficient heating and cooling with an updated style!

We strive to be family friendly. While we appreciate a good time around the campfire, we want to remind future guests that parties or large gatherings are not permitted. If the intention of your getaway is to party late into the night with outside guests, we kindly ask that you look at other rental opportunities in the area. Neighbors are few and far between, but we want to be respectful of the ones that are here!

Adequate WiFi service via the guest's own cellular data when tethered to a laptop or tablet has been reported by multiple recent guests, sufficient for remote network access and video streaming. The cottage features a cozy living room with a CD/DVD player and flat screen TV. A wide selection of DVD films is available, or bring your own. Connection to video streaming services via cellular data with an HDMI cable connection is also possible.

The "Little J" -- well known to fly fishers far and wide -- is one of Pennsylvania's best trout streams and popular with kayakers and river tubers as well; we are just a mile down-river from the village of Barree.

Built in 1902 on a wooded acre by 2nd and 3rd generation descendants of late 18th Century settlers of northern Huntingdon County, the home has been carefully maintained and fully modernized -- serving both as a seasonal and a long-term residence over the last 120 years. Expanded periodically since first built, the home retains many of its original architectural features together with some period furnishings.

Take your morning coffee on our all-seasons porch (screened in warm weather, enclosed with thermal widows in cold weather). Hike up the road into the Rothrock State Forest lands. Hike the Mid-state Trail from a nearby trail head with adequate parking.

The cottage comprises about 975 sq ft (90 sq m) and can accommodate 4 guests comfortably.

The kitchen is equipped with dish soap, dish cloths and dish towels, pots and pans, cooking utensils, toaster, toaster oven with broiler, microwave oven, plates, cups, coffee pots (French Press and Italian Stove Top Espresso), glasses, and flatware. The kitchen seats up to 4 persons, with a 1920s-era Hoosier cupboard and a professionally-restored, 1950s-era gas range, ready for stove-top cooking.

The two bedrooms are in the half-story loft: one with a queen bed and the other with two twin beds.

Settled on the top of the ridge in the middle of the woods, you will find all the peace and quiet you crave, but still will be close enough to Lake Raystown, hiking and biking trails, fishing, kayaking an boating. You can find swimming, mini-golf, horse-back riding, and a water park not far away at Raystown Resort and only about 45 minutes south of State College. You'll find a massively long dining table, a large living room with a fireplace and hearth reaching to the cathedral ceilings, a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of space for guests to sleep (up to 14). You'll also find spacious outdoor space for spending time, including a large front porch, a large rear deck with seating and a firepit on the premises. Although there is one bathroom, you'll find a large shower with a seat. If you've ever booked with us on Airbnb, you will note that we have a super host status and we've been welcoming guests to our beautiful cabin for over 3 years now. The truth is I really can’t say anything bad about this property. I did give the online description four stars but that’s only because it doesn’t do it justice. The accommodations are actually better than what is shown in the photos. Many people complain that the water on site is unusable, the truth is it’s well water and decent at that. Good pressure and actually pretty good for coming out of a well, not very hard at all. A slight odor but that’s expected from a well source. If you’ve never had a well or used well water before it might be an issue for you. It’s remote but not that far away from civilization, no neighbors and the next closest property is well over a quarter mile away. There is cell service at the site but it is limited, it’s still enough to make calls if needed. Overall an outstanding experience, one caveat if you’re planning to rent here. You WILL need four wheel or all wheel drive. The access is very steep."

Originally a Victorian home built when the main street of Portage was nothing but dust, and the sidewalks built of wood. The Quinn Inn now boasts 3 smartly appointed rooms with luxurious bedding for even the most discerning sleepers. The home has plenty of room to spread out or to entertain with a large living room, fully remodeled eat-in kitchen, formal dining room, and Victorian styled parlor. The large back yard has plenty of space for kids to play, and there is ample parking for up to 4 vehicles. If you are visiting during a holiday, be sure to utilize the best seats in town for parades. The front porch is the most sought after place to watch the town liveries!

Views from river are simply marvelous. We swim it, fish it, and float on it. Our river front is a very nice channel that holds fish. Small mouth bass catch and release are abundant.
