As a prime example, the Hill Country State Natural Area is only three miles from the ranch; this is a local favorite spot for hiking, horseback riding, wildlife watching, and exploring. Expand outward a little bit, and you'll discover the Lost Maples State Natural Area and Garner State Park within an hour's drive; the latter is one of the most popular outdoor recreation hot spots in the entire state! In the mood for tubing, fishing, swimming, or kayaking? We have great news! The Frio, Medina, and Guadalupe Rivers are also all within an hour of the Lucky Star Ranch Cabins.

Closer to your "home base" is an aspect of the ranch that delights kids of all ages. It's populated with friendly farm animals that love attention from visitors, including goats, chickens, and ducks! One of the standout "stars" of the farm is a delightful dwarf Nigerian goat named Baby, who recently won first place in the Pet Parade at the Bandera 4th of July celebration. If you'd like to bring a pet of your own to Lucky Star Ranch, they're welcome here! We only ask that they get along well with a variety of other animals, and that they remain leashed while on the property. The limit is one pre-approved pet per cabin.

Another great perk of a stay at the Lucky Star Ranch Cabins is, if you book all three vacation cabins for your group of up to nine people, you'll have the place all to yourself! Otherwise, you'd be sharing outdoor amenities with the other cabins. There are picnic tables and a charcoal grill you're free to use when you're hankering for some genuine Texas BBQ, and there's a large fire pit here, too, perfect for roasting smaller snacks or just hanging out with your family and crew; remember, the Lucky Star Ranch is kid-friendly!. We'll provide the firewood for the fire pit, but please remember to bring your own charcoal. A variety of outdoor games is available, too, and for your convenience there are laundry facilities onsite. The ranch's owner lives on the property, if anything should come up, but they will otherwise respect your privacy.

Now it's time to step inside! Keep in mind all interior spaces here have been designed with similar amenities and features, so the following details apply equally to the trio of rental cabins. The first highlight that stands out is the dazzling natural light and golden woodwork, which in combination create a glowing and warm environment. The cabin's interior is open and roomy, in a studio-style arrangement that includes a bedroom, dining nook and functional and convenient kitchenette. The latter is equipped with a fridge, Keurig coffee maker, and a unique microwave that also functions as a conventional oven. You'll also have basic cookware, dining ware, and utensils. We've considered entertainment and connectivity, too, with a Roku-ready smart TV and high-speed Wifi Internet service.

Your Hill Country nights will be spent in restful slumber on the comfortable queen-sized bed that sleeps two. The option of an additional rollaway bed is available in all three cabins, with potential sleeping accommodations for as many as nine people. (Please let us know how many rollaway beds you'd like when you book with us.) Finally, cleanup's a pleasure with the full bath in each cabin, all of which include basic toiletries and a sparkling-clean shower stall. This house is our little piece of heaven. Enjoy coffee in the morning on the large deck and watch the birds and deer come to feed. Plenty of room to walk around on the property and spend some time on the lower level with gorgeous tree canopy. Access to Medina River for hiking, fishing, soaking, and kayaking. Living room offers a futon bed and TV. The first bedroom has a queen bed and TV in the room, the second bedroom has two sets of bunk beds - full on bottom and twin on top- with TV in the room. The house is located on the second level providing scenic hill country and river views. In the morning enjoy a cup of coffee on the front or back porch while deer and other wild life come by and visit. Cook your meals in the beautiful rustic modern kitchen and dine on the Texas backporch. Relax with your family on the comfortable patio furniture, use the propane fire pit for the ambience or to keep warm. At dusk watch the bats flying around near the porch. By night take in the sky view and look for the Big & Little Dipper, make sure to download a constellation app. Enjoy some caveman TV - fire up the primitive fire pit during the day or night and have some delicious s'mores! We have plenty of fire wood for you to burn. There are several sitting areas to take in nature, read a book or lay on the boulders and watch the sky. Explore the wooded areas on the property and admire the birds chirping around. Be careful you may run into a deer.

On the third and bottom level is the Medina River with its beautiful crystal water flowing downstream. There are a few sitting areas and a picnic table with an umbrella for guests to use. Bring your picnic basket and drinks to spend the day by the river. This is the perfect location for you to get all the rest and relaxation you deserve from your daily life. Throw out a blanket and take a nap as you listen to the river babble. As you spend your day in front of the calm river, watch for deer herds crossing the river. The deer are most active during sunrise and dusk. Get a glimpse of the wildlife living on the river - egrets, turtles, mallard ducks and on occasion see the cattle roaming on the Walker Ranch. Trek down the river and explore the dinosaur prints, climb the boulders near by and immerse yourself in the water pockets directly in front of La Hacienda Rio. This is tranquility life.

At night retreat to the home and decompress in the fine furnishing and comfort La Hacienda Rio has to offer!

Deeper water is located nearby. As you are looking at the river go left for fishing, swimming and kayaking.

There is an RV site available for rent for an additional fee. If your family or friends own an RV they can rent the site so they can join you during your stay at La Hacienda Rio. The house sits on a bluff with 2 acres of property. Guest will have private access to over 150ft of river front. The Walker Ranch is located across the river from La Hacienda Rio, providin privacy during your trip. The river is low so enjoy time laying in the water pockets of the river or long walks exploring the beautiful nature.

Outdoor cameras are located on the front and back of the house for everyones safety and security.

We are in the process of clearing the property for better walking access so there are some brush piles around the two acres of land.

No smoking is allowed inside the house. No parties are allowed and guests will not exceed six individuals. Additional guests will cost $35 per stay. Please inquire for discount rates.

A $100 non-refundable pet fee is required. Make sure to bring your pets bed, food bowl and kennel. Please do not allow your pets on the beds or sofa, help us keep pet hair to a minimum so we can continue to host your furry ones. Address any accidents immediately on the carpets to keep them smelling and looking clean. If you leave your pet in the house alone, please kennel them to make sure they do not chew on any items.

- "The grounds are beautiful. Easy river access. Enjoyed swimming and fishing. Quiet and peaceful. The house was well stocked. Lots of spaces for teens to hang out. We read about the sticker burrs and prepared our dog with shoes so he was fine. That stickers were the only caveat, but they’re probably mostly unavoidable anywhere in the area. The owner was extremely communicative as I had many questions leading up to our stay. Overall a great place to stay."

Our slice of land on the Medina River is truly gorgeous! There are beautiful cypress trees that are magical year round, and there are often small rapids. If relaxing in the shade by the river and dipping your feet in is your thing, our property is perfect for that! However, this is not a swimming hole. The Medina River is generally not considered safe in Bandera, TX, due to consistent low flow. Check TCEQ for updates and swim at your own risk.

Welcome to our charming 0.5-acre property! Here, you'll find our cozy two-story main house and a private guesthouse nestled right behind it, easily accessible through a gate on the left. We've thoughtfully provided a brightly lit outdoor space where you can sit back and relax. Guests also have the option of their own private patio or can gather together in the spacious, covered central area of the yard.

Step outside and discover a variety of amenities designed for your relaxation! The guesthouse features its own cozy patio right out back. For shared enjoyment, we've provided a large covered area complete with a fire pit and a radio, creating the perfect spot to unwind. If you're hosting a larger group, our spacious deck at the far end of the property offers an ideal gathering space.

Other things to note
Our property is located in a remote area, which means you'll need to factor in travel time for any necessities. The closest option is The Copper Lantern, a small convenience store at the end of our road. For a wider selection of supplies, you'll need to head into town. Our mission is to invite you to take it easy at this simple and tranquil getaway. The cabin is a walk-in guest room with bathroom, and is located on the same property as the main house and other guest houses. You will be given privacy. We furnish a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker and coffee supplies. Free Wi-Fi and Roku Tv. This is a great place for you to spend the night and to springboard into your hill country adventures, enjoying the Cowboy Capital of the world.

The space
This hill has been called "healing hill.” The sunsets melt away, and you can too, as you sit out on your lawn chairs and experience the sun going down. Coyotes yap and howl a little out in the distance, and a rabbit is sure to come darting across the yard when the Texas sun begins to set.

The cabin sits on 5 acres, but we ask that you stay at your campsite. The site is located with other cabins and houses, so you will not be alone, but everyone is polite and friendly. Hiking is not available on the property, but there is plenty of outdoor activity near by: Hill Country State Park, Bandera City Park, Medina Lake, Medina River. Garner State Park and Lost Maples State Park is a reasonable drive away to make a day trip.

The property is available for glamping and the cabin features a walk-in bedroom with spacious bathroom. You are welcome to pitch your tents and have access to the cabin as well.

The cabin sleeps two people, but if you pitch tents, you can have more registered guests for an additional fee of $20 a person. Please ask first, so I can adjust the guest limit BEFORE you arrive.

This is South Texas, so occasionally burn bans come into effect. Please be aware of this and with each booking I will keep you alerted to whether or not the fire pit is available for use. In the case of a burn ban, you may choose to stay without fire or find another spot (burn ban in one location is burn ban in all the county).

Bandera County is a rural place where you will see a very well-kept yard next to one that may be more rustic. That is the case in our neighborhood as well. You will see a half million dollar house next to a run down property. Our property is well kept and maintained. Our neighbor’s property is a bit of an eyesore. You will see this property as you drive back to the cabin. Once at the cabin, you do not have a view of our neighbor’s property unless you’re absolutely walking out of your way to look for it. 

You are in the Texas hill country, so don't be surprised to encounter wildlife of all kinds: insects, bugs, raccoons, squirrels, deer and many other creatures are normal parts of living outside of the city. Please be careful. You will not receive a refund if you find a spider, scorpion, snake, possum, armadillo, mosquitoes, mouse, or any other creeping or flying creature.

The cabin and the fire-pit site are available for use. The rest of the property is private for other guests/tenants. No hiking is available directly on the property, but plenty of hiking is available in the general area.

Other things to note
This is a hill country adventure, so you may encounter creatures that live in South Texas. Watch for deer as you drive, and know that when you see one, others are not too far behind. Although I have not seen one on the property yet, it would not be unlikely to encounter a rattlesnake. Be cautious and alert at all times. Summertime brings mosquitos. Be prepared.

Welcome to Junip! A modern tiny guest house located on 7 acres in the Texas Hill Country. I built Junip as a side project a couple of years ago. The house includes everything you've come to expect from a tiny house; a reading loft, living/sleeping area, a sizable bathroom and small kitchen. Juniper is in Pipe Creek, between historic San Antonio and Bandera - the Cowboy Capitol of Texas. If you've wondered what it's like to live tiny, this is a great way to try it!

The space
The house has about 180 sq. feet of living space. It includes a reading loft, living room, bathroom and small kitchen.

Guest access
The entire tiny house is available to you.

Other things to note
There is another house on the property a few hundred yards away. Don't worry though, no one will bother you.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Downtown Bandera is 1.5 miles away. Quiet, Peaceful, Safe Neighborhood.

No smoking inside or outside ensures a clean odor free environment for your enjoyment.

There is no fenced yard, so we ask that you don't bring your pets.

The space
This is a New Cabin just finished in October of last year. It has two Full Size Beds, a Kitchenette, Bathroom with a Large Shower, a Large Deck, and a Fire Pit. Parking is in front and the path to the Cabin is Private and well lit. The area is Quiet and Safe.
It is not suited for pets as there is no fenced yard.

Rustic is the theme with barn wood accents everywhere including the ceiling! Slide open the barn door to reveal your private bathroom with large shower. The studio has a small fridge, microwave and coffee pot. You have a private entrance off the shared porch. WiFi and DISH TV are included at no additional charge. The room is handicap friendly with a ramp onto porch.

The space
Relax on the covered front porch year round. There is a fire pit and bbq available for your enjoyment. Horseshoe toss located on the side yard area. Yes! Billy the buffalo lives here.

Be sure to tryout the big comfy swing located in the oak tree out front!

During your stay
I’m available by text during your stay. I often return before dark to put Billy the Buffalo back in his stall. That’s a great time to schedule your buffalo experience and photo shoot $10 per person.

Biker, pet and party friendly, just clean your mess please. Perfect place to stay after a 4way Concert or a getaway to the hill country. Super cozy and relaxed rules for extended stays. Located right next door to Lucy’s BBQ (closed for retirement sorry!) in Lakehills. within walking distance also to Dollar General, Grocery store and 24 hour gas station. Great neighbours. Outdoor dog pen and dog porch. Chairs, tables and bbq pits all available for you outside.

Whole house to yourself. Restaurant closed Ronny’s retired. Great place to Relax or throw a party!

Trampoline in back not responsible for injuries or accidents. Dry creek behind house dont start a fire without asking first. Trailer in back has renters be courteous please and thank y’all
