Hot Tub:
- Let us know if you'd like to turn on the hot tub. When On, the heater will run for 1.5 hours, and the jets will operate for 45 minutes. It will automatically turn off within that period.
- Please note that it may struggle to maintain temperature if it's below 45°F. If the temperature drops below 35°F, we will be unable to turn the heater on, as it cannot function effectively at that level.

Little House on the Blanco @ Shade Ranch is a one bedroom one bath stone house on 40 acres nestled along the Blanco River among the mighty oaks of the TX Hill Country. The house is fully stocked with kitchen supplies, linens and paper products and soap. The house is set up for a couple or a small family of no more than 4 people. We ask that no more than 3 adults stay given space and septic constraints.

I provide guests with all of details needed for check in along with a list of items provided at the house. Guests are not required to meet with anyone upon arrival, but rather will be given access codes to let themselves into the house. I am available by phone, text or email before and during your stay to help with any questions or issues that may arise.

We are 5 minutes away from the Wimberley square with all of the local shops, restaurants and the grocery stores. So, while you feel that you're out in the country the conveniences of Wimberley are very close.

Guests have full access to the house and our 40 acres and 600+ feet of Blanco Riverfront. You can feel free to explore the land to hike, bird watch or look for other wildlife.

Gaze at a gorgeous sunset or sunrise on the river or from the picnic table on the bluff above. Grab your rod and discover what Flyfishing magazine called 'one of the best fly fishing spots in Texas, on the Blanco River.'

Take a swim in the clear blue waters of the Blanco River. Enjoy a picnic or a nap or a book along its banks. Dine in the covered porch watching the deer graze and maybe see the rare violet-ear hummingbirds that have been known to visit. Get cozy on the couch to watch a movie or just listen to music on the Sonos speakers. You will find a wonderful, large outdoor hot tub right off the covered porch. It is a private place to unwind while admiring the brilliant stars above and the quiet solitude of Shade Ranch.

The house is intended for couples or a small family with young children. We ask that there be no more than 3 adults given space and septic constraints. There is also a great outdoor stone fire pit with stone benches, perfect for roasting marshmallows or warming up on a cool Hill Country evening. Located only 5 minutes from Wimberley Square, this home completes the perfect hill-country getaway without sacrificing any of the charm (or shopping opportunities) that Wimberley has to offer. And with high-speed/wireless Internet and satellite TV, you won't sacrifice the conveniences of modern technology, either.

There is also a larger 3 bedroom house on the same property. The houses are completely separate and don't share anything other than the acreage. The houses sit approximately 100 yards apart and have a bank of cedar trees and a large cedar privacy fence that sit between the houses and create separate areas for privacy.

You'll need a car to get to and from the property. You can walk to town, but it will take you approximately 20 minutes.

Shade Ranch consists of 40 private acres and 600+ feet of Blanco riverfront land. There are two houses on the property that we make available, the Little House and Casa Grande. Casa Grande is a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom home of 2800 square feet. The two houses are completely separate and don't share anything other than the land. They each have their own hot tubs, patios, grills and fire pits. The houses sit approximately 100 yards apart and are separated by a bank of cedar trees and a cedar privacy fence. Given the property sits on a bluff there is one pathway down to the river.

- "This property is A HIDDEN GEM! I was by myself and it was a perfect size for me. There is a forest outside on the property and only a short walk to THE RIVER. No steep, hard to navigate staircases. Even though we are in a drought right now the water was still barely running and there is a big deep swimming hole to swim and float in. Beautiful clean green water. It's also just a few miles drive to Wimberley Proper and to everything you forgot, HEB for food, and The Wooden Spoon for great ice cream and yogurt. Chill on the River is great for yummy eats. And don't forget to stop at the Boutique ACE Hardware. There is also free computer access at the Wimberley Village Library too. I have already re-booked for Thanksgiving Week. Roby, the owner, was more than helpful for any of my needs. There are a lot of BAD VRBO'S out there but this one is definitely NOT one of them. It's just right...as Goldilocks says! GO SEE...you won't regret it!"

There are 13 of us, (6 kids and 7 adults) ranging in age from 7 years to 66 years, and there was plenty of room for all of us. The water in front of the property was nonexistent due to the current drought, but a 10-minute walk upriver solved that problem. Blue Hole, and a day pass at 7A, also solved the low water situation. In May you may be lucky to spot beautiful pink roses growing on the dam - out of the reach of hungry deer. One day an elderly woman greeted my friend at the creek, explaining that she had grown up there, swimming and playing on hot summer days, long before any of us discovered this paradise. She explained that her father had planted those roses, some ninety years previous, in the perfect spot apparently as they are thriving there today. We named this special place after her and her daddy's roses, so named The River Rose Retreat, where you and yours can drink in the unique and restorative smells, sounds, and eye candy, the absolute best of the Texas hill country.

This beautifully hand designed property depicts why we all love the Texas hill country. Multi leveled decks, porches a plenty and paths/benches/walls that are intricately hand lain with local rocks. Its such a delight to explore this unique property.

This property is dog friendly. So bring along your WHOLE family on your next vacation! We have a $100 pet fee.

The kitchen is fully stocked with absolutely anything you need to prepare your meals away from home. A private BBQ pit is available at each house. The open concept kitchen/dining/living room has wrap around large windows that provide a beautiful view of the sky and creek even when indoors.

There is a small sitting pool(not heated) behind the main house. This pool is exclusively for treetop house use. The pool has a lovely deck that overlooks the creek and horizon. The deck has tables and chairs to accommodate your whole party. Even though hot tub is listed as an amenity, we do not have one. VRBO can not figure out how to remove it.

The seasonal creek access is just a short walk out the back door. The path is constructed in conjunction with the natural landscape, so care should be taken when walking down to the creek. We have creek access and a private dammed off swimming hole.

This home has a back deck, a screened in porch in the front, a front seating area, a private balcony upstairs and a sitting area around the pool. There are so many ways to enjoy nature with your loved ones together or in private.

Both bedrooms have king beds. One of the king beds is convertible to two twin beds if this better suits your needs. There are also two high quality queen size couch beds. This home has 2 full bathrooms and a half bath. The base price is for 4 people and extra guests up to 8 are 25 per day to accommodate the extra cleaning of towels and linens.

This property has 2 houses, an apartment, separate bunk house add on with bed and mini fridge only available for rent. This listing is for the larger home which sleeps 8. You could fit up to 15 people with privacy for all the couples if the rent the whole property.

We do have three rentals on the property. They all have their own privacy and outdoor sitting areas. They are lined along the waterway so all have creek views. We do not allow fishing of any kind not even catch and release.

But turns out the water was low and full of algae. Even our dog didn't want to go in it. I asked them if there was water in the hole before renting and they replied yes, but I should have asked if there is water clean enough to swim in. Oh well. Still no regrets staying at this. property."

Laminated TV guide and remote instructions are located at the TV.

~Note: We really go out of our way to add those special touches to make your trip complete, such as leaving a bottle of wine, assorted teas and organic coffees and an alkaline water dispenser. We also strive to make this property as green as possible by using environmentally friendly dish soap and laundry detergent, providing recycled paper products and full recycling, using low-wattage light bulbs, and more.

Kitchen: coffee, filters, creamer, assorted sugars, assorted teas. French Press, Drip coffee maker and Electric kettle. Toaster, Convection/Air fryer/microwave and stand alone induction plate. All dishes, silverware and utensils (even for the BBQ!) There is not a stand alone stove.

Grill up a yummy dinner with your honey and dine al fresco on the large deck under the large Oak trees and solar mood lighting!

Spices (very large assortment), virgin olive oil, vinegar, ketchup, mustard, mayo, butter, ice in the freezer and cold water in the fridge. Candy dish with assorted yummies.

Cleaning has always been a top priority at the Nest but we kicked that into high gear in February. Every linen including all blankets and bed covers are washed in hot water with a hospital grade disinfectant (they have always been washed-now we are using hospital grade disinfectants also). All surfaces including all remotes, switches, light pulls, drawer, keys and door handles are wiped down with the same disinfectant.

We have removed all decorative pillows, coasters and candy dishes for now.

We have been regularly steam cleaning the carpet with a super heated disinfectant formula. We are also using Vionex hospital grade disinfectant to use super heated mist to fog the entire Nest after EVERY visit.

Lysol, wipes and hand sanitizer are provided for use in the Nest for your stay (provided we can find them!)

Guests that are feeling unwell are advised to call and suspend their reservations and stay home.
