Our lovely houseboat is only 22 minutes from Amsterdam Center! Go by car, by train and bike or by direct bus (that stops around the corner)! The world famous windmills are 5 min by (free!) bike or go there with our motorboat in 20 minutes! The houseboat
Very close to Amsterdam Center you can enjoy living on the water in beautiful surroundings! Enjoy the fantastic views over the water from every room, feed ducks and swans from the living room windows and relax on the sunny water terrace or in the sunny garden! The location is great, very close to Amsterdam and the world famous Zaanse Schans windmills and across the road is the beautiful Dutch countryside. The ideal base to explore the area and afterwards come back to relax in our sunny garden or on the water terrace!

Take the free bikes to explore the area and take our motorboat to visit the windmills from the water and go into the beautiful nature area (1 minute), which is a typical Dutch wetland / polder area! (The motorboat costs 25 euros for your whole stay!)

About the houseboat
The houseboat has a sunny living room with beautiful views over the water and into the garden through the big sliding doors. All the rooms have central heating. There are 2 bright bedrooms with large windows both overlooking the canal and the garden. The master bedroom has a king size bed, the second bedroom has 2 single beds which can be made into a double bed on request. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a coffee bean machine for freshly ground coffee and a new bathroom with shower and toilet. You can enjoy the sunny terrace boat from where you can enjoy the houseboat experience or enjoy the sunny garden with terrace over the water! The terrace is accessible from the living room through the big sliding doors, from which you have a nice view over the garden!

We have free bikes available, also for kids, and also with a child seat. You can use them to explore the area (see below), and go to the train station (7 min by bike).

There's free parking across the road from the houseboat.
We have NETFLIX on the TV and a lot of games for children and the whole family (or friends of course!)
You can use our washing machine and dryer for free.

You'll love to stay here because you can:
* Visit Amsterdam, you'll be there in 20 - 25 minutes depending if you go there by car or public transport (or a combination). Not only at Central station, but really the heart of the city!
* Bike to the world famous Zaanse Schans windmills in 5 min via our special bike route along houseboats and the beautiful wooden houses of Haaldersbroek (must see!), or drive there by car in 2 minutes (!)
* Walk across the road to see the beautiful Dutch wetland nature area! Have a pick-nick on the dike overseeing the wetland, with the Zaanse Schans windmills in the background!
* Take the boat and go to the nature area, go under the bridge and you're there! This is an Amsterdam wetland, typical for the Netherlands!
* And have a drink or great meal at my favorite restaurant Heerenhuis (across the road)!
* Relax at one of the swimming beaches Jagersveld at 5 min by bike or car.
* Explore the area by bike via our special bike route! You can take 1 hour up to half a day, depending on your stops.
* Explore the larger area by car using our special car tour route which can take you up to 1 day and shows the nicest places in the area, like the fishing villages Edam / Volendam, the typical dutch wetlands, the beach, the Keukenhof tulip gardens and the cheese city Alkmaar.

The houseboat is located on the main access road to the highway, and a good bicycle track to the Zaanse Schans and train station.

The houseboat, garden, water terrace and boat are all for your private use.
Bikes are for free, please take care of them!
The boat is available upon request and agreement to our rules and costs 25 euros for you whole stay if you want to take it out to boat.

The space
This unique houseboat is located at a small island near all the famous tourist attractions (such as the Zaanse Schans and Amsterdam city centre). Due to the central location and nearness of a train station, the houseboat is an excellent start to explore the area.

The houseboat is very spacious and bright (6 people can stay here very comfortably), has a very large and sunny garden and a sunny floating terrace (both private).

There is a beautiful nature conservation area close by (at only 2 minutes walking distance, which is also accessible by boat or canoe).

Enjoying your holiday at this houseboat will be a truly unique experience! We are sure that you will be very comfortable and will feel at home when you stay here!

Guest access
The houseboat has a large and sunny living room. It has large windows on either side, which provide a view to the private garden on one side, and the canal on the other.

The spacious and fully equipped kitchen (including a dish washer) adjoins the living room. There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom is located downstairs (which is below the water level, a unique experience in itself). The second bedroom is located upstairs, and is a bright and comfortable room with a view on the canal. The third bedroom has a lovely view at the garden, and a door which leads to the floating terrace. There are 2 double beds and 2 single beds present. If needed, a third single bed can be arranged for (if so, please contact me before you make your reservation).

You can enjoy a private bathroom with a luxurious shower (steam bath, water jets, etc.). There is also a separate toilet.

There are a washing and drying machine available.
A large TV (42 inch) and free WIFI are available.

Amsterdam central station/city centre can be reached by train in 15 min!
The Zaanse Schans is a 45 min. walk from the house (or just 3 min. by train + 15 min walk.)

You will be sharing the house with us, the hosts, so a respectful and tidy guest is very much appreciated. Check-in time is upon request, as one of us needs to be home to personally let you in.

There's a bathroom, two toilets and a kitchen (with coffee and tea).

You will have your own room (upstairs) and share the rest of the house with us.

Note that I work on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: on these days you can only check in after 19:30 / 7.30 pm!

During your stay
Remember you're not staying in a hotel but in a house, where we actually live :-). This means there are some rules that need to be respected: please be silent between 10 pm and 8 am, we (and our lovely neighbours) would appreciate that!

Note that I don't have a Smartphone, so I won't be able to immediately read online messages on the site. But you can always call me or send an sms :-).

Other things to note
The last train from Amsterdam back to our place is right after midnight. So if you'd like to enjoy the nightlife in Amsterdam I'm afraid you'll need to find yourself another place to stay.

We have just finished updating all the rooms last year and are now offering this room newly refurbished to our beautiful guests.

This room is smaller than the others, but it is very cosy and still big enough to sleep 2 guests.
There is one chest of drawers and we will also have a kettle available for the guests.

Cosy and quiet private room on the 2nd floor of our house, overlooking the park.

From here it takes 12 minutes (2 stops) to Amsterdam city center. Also the famous dutch windmill village Zaanse Schans is also very near the house. This room is super nice and bright and will only be offered for a short time
It is newly renovated and super clean.
When you stay here,

We are unable to take dogs in the house as we already have a very nice dog who also lives in the house, but he is never in any contact with the guests.

I'm a person who works a lot and I like my guests to be able to come back to the house and relax and there for it is important for me that all my guests are respecting each other.
This room is great for single people or couples wishing to explore the famous windmills of zaandam or Amsterdam.

We have been blessed with this big, beautiful, none smokinghouse in zaandam.
The house was in great need of TLC
We have completed the hallway and recently finished renovating one of the very beautiful bright rooms in the attic.
Which you can see in the pictures.
The kitchen is not accessible to guests however we do offer this room at a reasonable price.
The room is perfect for people travelling alone or as couples who want to go and visit Amsterdam or the famous windmills of zaandam.
The house is NOT a party house. However, we are open to the idea that a lot of guests are coming to Amsterdam to have a good time.
And as long as everyone is respecting the house and other guests without causing any issues, then we have no problem with that.
This room has a comfortable double bed and very calming energy.
It is a 10-minute walk to the centre of zaandam, which is where a lot of guests like to visit when visiting Amsterdam.
From there, you have regular trains to Amsterdam.
The train takes 15 minutes to Amsterdam centre depending on which train you take, of course.
There is a bus stop within a 5-minute walk from the house as well as free parking all around the house.
My two friends work six days a week in the centre of Amsterdam, and both cycle 25min to the NDSM, then catch a free ferry across to Amsterdam Central.
If this is something you would like to do, then I can only recommend it.
Me myself I also work a lot, but I will try to make myself available for you as much as possible.
We will provide you with a kettle inside your room in order for you to have a nice cup of tear or coffee throughout the day.
We also offer bicycles at al cost of 10 euros per day. However, I would always advise you to book these in advance by letting me know before coming as we currently have more guests than bicycles, and the bicycles are very popular.
We also have different types of dogs which stay in the house, but you probably never get to see them as they do not have access to the guest rooms.
They are all foster dogs with different sort of past behaviour problems and it is my job to retrain and asess them in order to give them a new start in life then aiming at finding them forever homes where they will be loved and cared for.

The house is located in a peacefull neigbourhood on walking distance from the centre of Zaandam (right next to Amsterdam), where you'll find alot of cafe's and restaurants and you can take a 12 minute direct train to Amsterdam Central.

There is a bike that you can use for free, you can also choose to ride the bike to the centre of Amsterdam in about 40 minutes.

The world famous Zaanse Schans, a free open air museum with traditional wooden windmills and houses, is only a short bike ride away!

The space
My beautiful 1930's home is fully renovated. We demolished the entire second floor and rebuild it from scratch, keeping some original details. The house is eclecticly decorated with some unique antique pieces from India in combination with some more contemporary furniture and some nice large plants.

I kept a nice balance between minimalism, allowing room for flow and conveniance, and great design for a cozy environment.

Downstairs you'll find the livingroom with large sofa and dining table, along with the kitchen and toilet. Your bedroom and the shared bathroom is upstairs.

At the front of the house there is a small garden where you can enjoy a book in the sun, or smoke something if you prefer. There is also a patio in the back of the house where you can chill in summer when it's too hot, cause there is alot of nice shade there.

My interaction with my guests varies a lot. I had guest that I hang out with a lot, and guest that I did not see at all because I was out. I run a small business so am very busy, but enjoy my free time. I respect my guest privacy, but am always up for a drink and a chat.

Stay in the top floor of our house in Zaandam, a quiet city very close to Amsterdam. You will stay on the top floor, where you will find a bedroom, a living room/office and a balcony. Bathroom and toilet are shared with us.

You can reach Amsterdam Central in 35 min by bus+subway or train, Zaandam Center in 15 min walking, Zaanse Schans (the windmills) in 15 min by bus and the airport within 40 min by train. Supermarkets and restaurants are nearby and there is free parking in the neighbourhood.

The space
We live in a 4 floors house and you will have the bedroom on the top floor. There you will find everything you need for a short stay: a spacious bedroom with 2 single beds put together and a living room with couch, desk and TV with Chromecast. The living room is shared, but we are almost never there.

You will also have a private balcony where you can enjoy your coffee in the morning or just relax during the day. Wash machine and dryer are also located on the top floor and you can use.

The bathroom and toilet are shared with us and those are on the 2nd floor of the house, one floor below where you will be staying.

Microwave, fridge, water kettle and coffee machine are available in your space. Towels and bed linen are provided as well as shower amenities.
Free WIFI and free parking in the neighbourhood.

Stay in the top floor of our house in Zaandam, a quiet city very close to Amsterdam. You will stay on the top floor, where you will find a bedroom, a living room/office and a balcony. Bathroom and toilet are shared with us.

You can reach Amsterdam Central in 35 min by bus+metro or train, Zaandam Center in 15 min walking, Zaanse Schans and the windmills in 15 min by bus and the airport within 40 min by train. Supermarkets and restaurants are nearby and there is free parking in the neighbourhood.

The space
We live in a 4 floors house and you will have the bedroom on the top floor. There you will find everything you need for a short stay: a spacious bedroom with 2 single beds put together and a living room with couch, desk and TV with Chromecast. The living room is shared, but we are almost never there.

You will also have a private balcony where you can enjoy your coffee in the morning or just relax during the day. Wash machine and dryer are also located on the top floor and you can use.

The bathroom and toilet are shared with us and those are on the 2nd floor of the house, one floor below where you will be staying.

Microwave, fridge, water kettle and coffee machine are available in your space. Towels and bed linen are provided as well as shower amenities.
Free WIFI and free parking in the neighbourhood.

We have a dog in the house but he has no access to your floor.

Sleep in a comfortable big bedroom with a large 2 person boxspring bed 180 x 200 cm. Two extra single person mattresses can be added to the room. The bathroom is new and equipped with a shower and toilet. The private roofterras on the same top floor has a nice view and it's a great place to lounge. In the room is an espresso machine, kettle a mini fridge and a microwave/oven. The room, bathroom and terrace is private.

The room is in the top floor together with the bathroom and roof terras, so the top floor is completely for the guests. In a quiet quiet place in the center of Zaandam and 10 minutes train distance from Amsterdam, lies this beautiful old wooden built Zaanse house from 1890, an attractive retro furnished house from where you can discover Zaandam and Amsterdam.

The space
Downstairs you will find the living room with dining table, sofa, retro chairs, gas stove and open kitchen, which is equipped with everything ( refrigerator, large gas stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, kettle etc. )

Furthermore, a small bath room with shower, toilet and sink. The sofa is also a sofa bed. In this house you will not find a TV, but a beamer on which you can watch series and movies (Netflix/Disney+/Prime video/ Videoland). You will also find a record player with a collection of records, to relax with a drink from the city.

Of course, Wi-Fi is available and you can connect your phone / ipod / ipad to the amplifier.

Furthermore, there are plenty of toys ( lego / kapla / sign & crafts) in the house to entertain any children brought with you.

Upstairs you will find a beautiful open spacious bedroom with double bed and a children's room with a single bed. Which is extendable to two people. This is tight in the children's room. Fourth person is always in consultation!

Furthermore, there is a sink upstairs (cold water) and plenty of closet space for your belongings.

From here it is 10 minutes walk to the train station that takes you in 10 minutes to Amsterdam Central Station.

The bus station is 1 minute walk from the house. Dam Square, a square with many restaurants and pubs, is also a 1-minute walk away.

The space
The house is an old 1930s home, it used to be an office and the shop downstairs was a candy store. Now we live there for over 8 years, we have refurbished the house ourselves after it has been vacant for 3 years. It is a nice home where we have been living with pleasure for years.

From the street you enter with a staircase that takes you on a shared roof terrace, in the spring/summer months you can sit outside here.

Entering the house you step into the kitchen, and next to the kitchen is a small bathroom. On this same floor you will find the hallway and the living and dining room, at the dining table you can also sit to work from.

Upstairs you will find the bedroom with a 2-person. A cot is possible if needed, please let us know. There is also above a washing machine + drying rack you can use.

This detached cottage, in my backyard, is located in the heart of Zaandam, 3 minutes' walk from the Dam, 4 minutes from the cozy shopping street and 9 minutes from the Station. From the Zaans Huisje, you can do all kinds of activities. For example, you can reach Amsterdam Central Station in 14 minutes by train and in 5 minutes towards Zaanse Schans. Please note that there is paid parking at the door. The cottage is rented for 1 person, and an extra bedroom is available for an additional fee.

The space
The Zaanshuisje in my backyard, is about 25 square meters, with a separate shower and toilet. Microwave, fridge and kettle, iron iron, bed sheets and towels are provided. Stove top is not provided.
It is not allowed to smoke in the house, but it is allowed on the terrace. Wifi is not very strong in the cottage, you have to do that in the garden. On the upper floor is an extra bedroom, only accessible if booked for a 2nd person.

Zaandam is the perfect place if you look for a quiet stay but still want to be close to the vibrant center of Amsterdam. The space is perfect for 2 people and it is on the first floor of the building. It offers great connections to places like Amsterdam center, Zaandam center, Zaanse Schans and Schiphol Airport. Besides many facilities within walking distance, like supermarkets, pharmacy and shops.

The space
The studio apartment is located on the first floor (one flight of stairs) of our house and it is a perfect space for up to 2 people. It has around 25m2 and it features a queen-size bed (160x200 cm), a private bathroom with shower and a small kitchen.

The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary things to cook a meal: small fridge with freezer, induction stove, microwave/oven, air fryer, sandwich toaster and water kettle.
A dining table for 2 and a small couch make the comfort complete. There is also a TV with Chromecast installed, so you can stream your favorite videos, movies or series from your phone.

Washing machine (shared with the host) is available for use on the ground floor. There is no dryer, but there is a drying rack in the studio.

Towels and bed linen are provided as well as coffee and tea.

The place is easily reached by car, bus or train. Parking is free in the neighbourhood.

We are only 15 minutes walking from the center of Zaandam (20 minutes from the train station), 15 minutes by bus from the windmills village of Zaanse Schans, 30 minutes by bus from Amsterdam Central station and less than 40 minutes by bus and train from Schiphol Airport.
