Our lovely houseboat is only 22 minutes from Amsterdam Center! Go by car, by train and bike or by direct bus (that stops around the corner)! The world famous windmills are 5 min by (free!) bike or go there with our motorboat in 20 minutes! Discover the beautiful countryside and nature area around the houseboat, visit Amsterdam and relax afterwards on the water terrace or in the sunny garden! And across the road is my favorite restaurant!

The houseboat
Very close to Amsterdam Center you can enjoy living on the water in beautiful surroundings! Enjoy the fantastic views over the water from every room, feed ducks and swans from the living room windows and relax on the sunny water terrace or in the sunny garden! The location is great, very close to Amsterdam and the world famous Zaanse Schans windmills and across the road is the beautiful Dutch countryside. The ideal base to explore the area and afterwards come back to relax in our sunny garden or on the water terrace!

Take the free bikes to explore the area and take our motorboat to visit the windmills from the water and go into the beautiful nature area (1 minute), which is a typical Dutch wetland / polder area! (The motorboat costs 25 euros for your whole stay!)

About the houseboat
The houseboat has a sunny living room with beautiful views over the water and into the garden through the big sliding doors. All the rooms have central heating. There are 2 bright bedrooms with large windows both overlooking the canal and the garden. The master bedroom has a king size bed, the second bedroom has 2 single beds which can be made into a double bed on request. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a coffee bean machine for freshly ground coffee and a new bathroom with shower and toilet. You can enjoy the sunny terrace boat from where you can enjoy the houseboat experience or enjoy the sunny garden with terrace over the water! The terrace is accessible from the living room through the big sliding doors, from which you have a nice view over the garden!

We have free bikes available, also for kids, and also with a child seat. You can use them to explore the area (see below), and go to the train station (7 min by bike).

There's free parking across the road from the houseboat.
We have NETFLIX on the TV and a lot of games for children and the whole family (or friends of course!)
You can use our washing machine and dryer for free.

You'll love to stay here because you can:
* Visit Amsterdam, you'll be there in 20 - 25 minutes depending if you go there by car or public transport (or a combination). Not only at Central station, but really the heart of the city!
* Bike to the world famous Zaanse Schans windmills in 5 min via our special bike route along houseboats and the beautiful wooden houses of Haaldersbroek (must see!), or drive there by car in 2 minutes (!)
* Walk across the road to see the beautiful Dutch wetland nature area! Have a pick-nick on the dike overseeing the wetland, with the Zaanse Schans windmills in the background!
* Take the boat and go to the nature area, go under the bridge and you're there! This is an Amsterdam wetland, typical for the Netherlands!
* And have a drink or great meal at my favorite restaurant Heerenhuis (across the road)!
* Relax at one of the swimming beaches Jagersveld at 5 min by bike or car.
* Explore the area by bike via our special bike route! You can take 1 hour up to half a day, depending on your stops.
* Explore the larger area by car using our special car tour route which can take you up to 1 day and shows the nicest places in the area, like the fishing villages Edam / Volendam, the typical dutch wetlands, the beach, the Keukenhof tulip gardens and the cheese city Alkmaar.

The houseboat is located on the main access road to the highway, and a good bicycle track to the Zaanse Schans and train station.

The houseboat, garden, water terrace and boat are all for your private use.
Bikes are for free, please take care of them!
The boat is available upon request and agreement to our rules and costs 25 euros for you whole stay if you want to take it out to boat.

The space
This unique houseboat is located at a small island near all the famous tourist attractions (such as the Zaanse Schans and Amsterdam city centre). Due to the central location and nearness of a train station, the houseboat is an excellent start to explore the area.

The houseboat is very spacious and bright (6 people can stay here very comfortably), has a very large and sunny garden and a sunny floating terrace (both private).

There is a beautiful nature conservation area close by (at only 2 minutes walking distance, which is also accessible by boat or canoe).

Enjoying your holiday at this houseboat will be a truly unique experience! We are sure that you will be very comfortable and will feel at home when you stay here!

Guest access
The houseboat has a large and sunny living room. It has large windows on either side, which provide a view to the private garden on one side, and the canal on the other.

The spacious and fully equipped kitchen (including a dish washer) adjoins the living room. There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom is located downstairs (which is below the water level, a unique experience in itself). The second bedroom is located upstairs, and is a bright and comfortable room with a view on the canal. The third bedroom has a lovely view at the garden, and a door which leads to the floating terrace. There are 2 double beds and 2 single beds present. If needed, a third single bed can be arranged for (if so, please contact me before you make your reservation).

You can enjoy a private bathroom with a luxurious shower (steam bath, water jets, etc.). There is also a separate toilet.

There are a washing and drying machine available.
A large TV (42 inch) and free WIFI are available.
