Missing in the Don Diego room was any surface on which one could perch a laptop or use as a desk. The gas fireplace was a lovely touch but the thermostat to control it was located on the wall behind the fireplace, so controlling the heat was a bit of a challenge as the warm air didn't seem to reach the thermostat. It felt like the thermostat had a mind of its own, although we tried to set it for our comfort. Still, it did its job. The gourmet breakfast is pricey, unique and delicious. The owners a true foodies who care about what they serve and how they serve it. Truly delightful!"

The space
My little Pueblo-style home was built in the 1950's, and has a classic vintage southwest look, donning thick walls with curved features and cabinetry original to the its construction. Guests will enjoy the quaint, vintage charm and enjoy the calm, minimalistic atmosphere. A large yard is perfect for sunbathing and watching the sunset behind the neighborhood homes.Natural light fills the common areas in the afternoons.

The two guest bedrooms are nicknamed Sunrise Room and Sunset Room, as you can see those in their respective rooms.

Some amenities that are important to ABQ include an alarm system for the house and regular pest control, and my home comes with both, giving you peace of mind and a sound sleep.

When I am in the home, I am available to help with whatever is needed, give recommendations, and as I often engaged in social events in ABQ, I'll let you know when one is happening, if you like! Alternatively, guests can have complete privacy if they prefer, exchanging quick "hellos" in passing and messaging me through the app if they need anything- just let me know which you prefer and I can be available for either!

Other things to note
My neighborhood is the perfect mix of city life and mountain access. Our street is quiet, and is a 5 minute drive from Nob Hill (filled with delicious restaurants, shops, and venues), UNM (quirky and fun), and 5 minutes from the airport, for convenience. The Sandia Foothills are a short drive away, where you can try all the local hikes from North to South. The city is surrounding in each direction with beautiful hikes and parks, and new restaurants are popping up everywhere. Please ask for ideas if you love to try novel new activities, as ABQ is filled with them. If you're up for a longer drive, nearby cities boast amazing tourist attractions and nature wonders. Santa Fe is an hour away, and includes historic downtown, Meow Wolfe Immersive Art, and Ten Thousand Waves Spa. Ojo Caliente, Chimayo and the historic church, Taos, Jemez Forest and the Hot Springs, Bisti Badlands, Bandalier National Monument, are some of the many awe inspiring places that you can drive to within 1-2 hours.

Welcome to our Camper's Cabin on the Divide #1, a primitive outdoor retreat nestled at the Continental Divide Park & Camp in Historic Pinos Altos, New Mexico. This primitive cabin is one of three cabins onsite, combining rustic charm with basic comforts, making it the perfect simple getaway for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Travel solo, or have your family and friends join you in one of our other cabins, tent sites or full-hookup RV spots. Dog friendly!

The space
SIMPLICITY:
Our cabin offers comfortable bedding, sitting area, and charging ports for electronics. There is a standing fan unit for warmer weather and a thermostat-controlled heating unit for cooler weather, along with all bedding and bath towels for up to 2 guests. While embracing the simplicity of cabin life, we've made sure you don't miss out on the basics. The cabin also has a heater for colder seasons, but please note that this is a camper's cabin and does not have A/C.

RUSTIC AMENITIES:
While the cabin itself has no indoor plumbing, just steps away from the cabin, you'll find an outhouse. For more extensive needs, our bathhouse on the property is equipped with hot showers, ensuring you can freshen up comfortably after a day of adventure. Plus, we've got you covered with a picnic area, charcoal camp grill, potable water and laundry facilities on-site.

PRIME LOCATION FOR OUTDOOR ADVENTURES:
For pass-through hikers and cyclists, we are situated just 2 miles from the Bear Creek Road access to the Continental Divide Trail. Alternatively, the Arrastra Interpretive Site, a mere 1.5 miles down NM State Highway 15, offers another gateway to the CDT from the cabin.

Explore the nearby Gila National Forest and Aldo Leopold Wilderness, a paradise for hikers, road cyclists and nature lovers. These nearby areas boast a plethora of trails and routes through stunning landscapes.

RICH CULTURE & HISTORY:
History buffs, photographers and plein air artists alike will appreciate the cabin's proximity to picturesque scenes and sites, like the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument and the rich Apache Native American history of the region. 1. See the sunset from the top (or bottom) of the Sandia Mountains:
Take the worlds longest Tram to the top, you can eat at High Finance or have a margarita.
Afraid of heights? Eat/ Drink at Santiago’s, conveniently located at the foot of the Tram ….the sun sets there as well.

2 Old Town is close and it is a great place to walk. Hungry? Church Street Cafe is waiting.Try some enchiladas or their original Chile Rellenos with red and green chile sauce.

3 If you have had enough New Mexican Food for this trip, Vinagrette beckons with unusual (and healthy) salads.

4. In the Old Town area, several good museums can be found :The Indian Cultural Museum, The Albuquerque Museum of Art and History, The New Mexico Natural History Museum with a planetarium, The Children's Museum, and The Rattlesnake Museum.

Other local destinations include The Bio-Park with its Aquarium The Rio Grande Zoo, and The Botanical Gardens While at the zoo, hop on a miniature train, it winds its way to through Tingly Beach where you some of Ed Haddaway's sculptures reside.

5.Stop and Shop at Palms Trading Company…… If you just look at stuff it might be cheaper. But half priced deals abound, and you NEED all the beautiful ceramics,turquoise jewelry, and kachinas you see from the 19 Pueblos around NM.

6. Visit Los Poblanos Inn: a historic property with a farm shop, lavender fields and fantastic restaurant.

7 Acoma Pueblo is definitely worth a visit. Native Americans live on top of a mountain that looks like it had a crew cut. Some people call these mountains Mesas but we prefer to call them mountains with crew cuts. Anthropologists agree that Native Americans have been living there since before Eisenhower was president.

8. You can hike Tent Rock Canyon. It is on the way to Santa Fe and it has very interesting land formations that look like tents with rocks on them. They also look a little bit like Humphrey Bogart in profile. See, there is his nose…….

This room in a shared apartment is on the Acequia Trail, and 1/2 a block from nearby tennis courts. I have 3 bikes you can use. Walk or ride this trail just a few minutes to get to downtown, Whole Foods, and Trader Joes, and the Rail-yard with free live music concerts several times a week.
Less than a block away you’ll find the amazing cafes; Cafecito and Counter Culture and Ikonic. Salvador Perez gym, located 3min drive away is just $4/day for drop in visits.

The space
This is a two bedroom apartment located on the second floor.

Your bedroom is located straight ahead and to the left. It includes the pictured queen size bed. I rent out both rooms so from time to time other guests may be sharing the space with you while you are here. Other guest will not let you know when they’re coming in going. It is expected guests adhere to the house rules and manual to avoid negatively impacting others use of the space.


Keep noise, tv, and conversation low, after 9pm and before 8am when other guests are in the apartment.

Feel free to use spices, condiments, laundry soap/washer/dryer. Your towels are rolled up on the shelf above the toilet. Make yourself at home in the living and dining room.

There’s one parking spot available on a first come first served basis located in front of the apartment entrance parallel to the gas meters and more spots on the street right across from the house. I like to use the bend in the curb at the end of our building. You'll see what i mean when you arrive.

During your stay
I use this apartment as my office. When i'm in town, i will tend to stop by regularly and I like to set up my laptop and work from
the dining table. Im typically around, on and off, between the hours of about 8am -7pm. I don’t notify you when I’m dropping by. I just tend to come and go. Have breakfast and take a shower. So it’s important to me the common rooms are clutter free. And you keep all your items in your room or designated areas.

Other things to note
Use the kitchen, and all appliances. Enjoy some complimentary Nespresso and Tea (above the microwave)

Our entire apartment community is carefully screened and filled with like minded professionals employed at Lanl, local government, Tech, and Medical jobs creating a safe a secure place to nest.
