You're just 20 minutes from Echo Lake (Gateway to Mt Evans/Blue Sky where you can drive the highest paved road in North America), and 25 minutes to Idaho Springs. Hit the trails right out the door, cozy up with a book in front of the stunning mountain views, or visit Echo Mountain (10 minutes up the road) for snow tubing and skiing. Hot tub, dry sauna, DirecTV, family amenities, and large game table will make your stay memorable and relaxing.

Our home is located in a neighborhood and while it feels remote, it's not! Our house is a great fit for you if you like the peace and quiet of the mountains, dark nights, and big views. We want to be respectful of our neighbors, so if you're looking for a remote place for a big party...this isn't it! Thanks for respecting our community!

Note regarding cameras on the property: There are three outdoor security cameras on this property. We use them to monitor the house and outdoor spaces when guests are not at the house. One camera is located near the main entrance and faces the driveway. One camera is located on the south deck. One camera is mounted under the eave on the main deck just above the kitchen dining nook and faces the table and hot tub. The cameras on the decks are turned off upon guest arrival. The camera facing the driveway will remain on and will light up at night when triggered by movement.

It is easy to cook at the house, but close enough to venture out to our favorites - Beau Jo's and Lariat Lodge. Morning coffee on the deck is delightful, and we had a couple of fun wildlife sightings while there; a curious fox and baby birds in a prime location. Still a safe distance from our curious kiddos, but close enough that we could watch them each day. We highly recommend this spot. It's a treasure and we're already looking forward to next year!"

🌲 Outside:
Step onto the sprawling patio deck with a cup of coffee in hand and take in breathtaking mountain views—your own slice of high-altitude paradise. After a day of hiking, exploring downtown Evergreen, or spotting wildlife, unwind in the private hot tub and soak in the serenity of nature.

We are located 8,700 feet above sea level. AWD is required year round and during November-April snow tires are required. We find the drive relatively easy for the elevation we are located at but coming prepared with the correct vehicle and tires is a MUST. This is subjective to each individuals experience with the climate and natural elements. Our drive-way is steep and because of this we do recommend 4WD November- April. Use caution driving down the driveway. The first .25 miles down the mountain from our cabin are especially steep. Please proceed this stretch with caution. We do provide snow removal in the winter months and do our very best to maintain it but with unpredictable weather and winds, snow can drift onto the driveway. We cannot guarantee the drive-way will be completely cleared prior to your arrival. Please come prepared. This means hiking shoes or snow boots with good footing. We do provide snow shovels for guests to use for light snow or in-between snow plows. Many guests love and enjoy this experience, but if you are not the adventurous type or do not have experience in these elements this might not be the rental for you. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns before booking.

Other Things to Note:
If it snows during your stay guests may need to shovel the deck/pathway to clear a path. We have snow removal service after every major snow storm ends but it is likely you may need to shovel snow. Ice melt is usually readily available.

We are a dog friendly rental. We charge a non-refundable pet fee of $75. You can select the pet option in the same area you select guest count. If you have missed it, please reach out to us to pay your pet fee. Please inquire about multiple pets, multiple month stays and if you are traveling with cats.

The Air Conditioning is a mini split system installed in the bedroom.

If it snows during your stay guests may need to shovel the deck to clear a path. Please use the snow salt provided. If roads are open and you can't make it to the rental no refunds will be issued. This is a beautiful mountain home and you need to be able bodied to access when there is adverse weather.

There is a weather monitoring camera facing the driveway only.

There are no parties or events allowed at the rental.

Maximum occupancy is 2 guests.

If house rules are broken we reserve the right to withhold your security deposit and/or cancel your reservation.

HOT TUB
Our hot tub servicer rotates the service day. It typically falls Mon-Tues, but this can vary from week to week. There is a chance the hot tub will be serviced during your stay. When the water is changed, it takes 12-24 hours for the water to reheat. If this occurs during your stay, we cannot guarantee the hot tub will reach the desired temperature at that time.

CHILD PROOFING: Guest understands that no special efforts have been made to “childproof” this house, and accept the risk or harm to any children/infants we allow on the property.

After confirming your booking, you'll receive a text to download our app, DACK. Using the app, you can request early check-ins and late check-outs for an additional fee. While we can't guarantee approval due to same-day check-ins and check-outs, we'll do our best to accommodate your requests when possible.

TRAVEL INSURANCE/CANCELLATIONS
We HIGHLY recommend buying travel insurance through your airline company, car rental company, or a travel insurance website. We cannot provide a refund for anything that falls outside of our cancellation policy and the dates that correspond with the policy. This includes date change requests as they are considered the same as cancellations (if the new requested check-in date is a later date than your original check-in date). We cannot provide a refund due to travel related issues or Covid, Please review your cancellation policy if you haven't already. The space
I do not believe in making guests strip the beds, start laundry etc... I try to make this as guest friendly as possible. You aren't required to do that at a hotel, so why do some hosts require you to do that when you are already paying a cleaning fee? I don't! (*see pet exception). I love dogs and do NOT charge extra for pets!

I believe in the "take a little, leave a little" hosting philosophy. This means when you open the fridge there might be a few beers or wine coolers in there for you. Take whatever you want and leave what you don't use. There will also be basic condiments and nonperishable. I hate it when I stay somewhere and have to go out and buy all these little things knowing I am not taking them with me. If this is not your style, I totally respect that, but this is not the cabin for you.

I take every opportunity to make sure you still have the modern comforts when you need them, and relaxation when you don't. There is no better way to get socially distance yourself than a getaway to the mountains while still having all the creature comforts.

This is not a party cabin. Limit of 4 people. Please be mindful that although this is a mountain home and is remote, this is still a house in a neighborhood. Some neighbors live there full-time, work normal hours, and go to bed at reasonable times. After 10 pm, please be considerate and keep the noise down. Sound still travels pretty well at night.

I have been a host for almost 3 years now and a traveler and Airbnb guest for over 6 years. Unfortunately, there are those who don't like what we do because it upsets the "residential" lifestyle they are used to. I try to do my best to ensure that I follow all local, state, and federal laws in regard to short-term rentals. I pay my taxes and lodging fees. I employ locals to clean and maintain my cabin when I can't. This is only possible if everyone respects and cares for each other; if everyone follows the rules and well frankly, just be good people and good guests.

We are a dog friendly rental. We charge a non-refundable pet fee of $75. You can select the pet option in the same area you select guest count. If you have missed it, please reach out to us to pay your pet fee. There is a 2 dog maximum per stay.

The Air Conditioning is a mini split system installed in the bedroom.

If it snows during your stay guests may need to shovel the deck to clear a path. Please use the snow salt provided. If roads are open and you can't make it to the rental no refunds will be issued. This is a beautiful mountain home and you need to be able bodied to access when there is adverse weather.

There is a weather monitoring camera facing the driveway only.

There are no parties or events allowed at the rental.

Maximum occupancy is 2 guests.

If house rules are broken we reserve the right to withhold your security deposit and/or cancel your reservation.

HOT TUB
Our hot tub servicer rotates the service day. It typically falls Mon-Tues, but this can vary from week to week. There is a chance the hot tub will be serviced during your stay. When the water is changed, it takes 12-24 hours for the water to reheat. If this occurs during your stay, we cannot guarantee the hot tub will reach the desired temperature at that time.

CHILD PROOFING: Guest understands that no special efforts have been made to “childproof” this house, and accept the risk or harm to any children/infants we allow on the property.


TRAVEL INSURANCE/CANCELLATIONS
We HIGHLY recommend buying travel insurance through your airline company, car rental company, or a travel insurance website. We cannot provide a refund for anything that falls outside of our cancellation policy and the dates that correspond with the policy. This includes date change requests as they are considered the same as cancellations (if the new requested check-in date is a later date than your original check-in date). We cannot provide a refund due to travel related issues or Covid, Please review your cancellation policy if you haven't already. This can be found under your reservation, directly through our listing, or through the website that you booked. In most cases (but not all), you have a minimum of 48 hours to cancel your reservation to receive a full refund. Many reservations may have a longer period for a full refund. Last minute bookings are typically non-refundable.
