The second terrace has a beautiully set pool, sizeable with plenty of space for all of the sunloungers, outdoor shower cubicle, a hot tub with stunning views of the mountains and sea and a second stone table and benches also with retractable awning. Such a brilliant space to spend time lounging swimming, enjoying the views, cooking, eating......it really has everything this place! You need a car, which we had and allowed us to explore local attractions such as the waterfalls (Fuentes del Algar) - a great place to swim and climb, and El Castell de Guadalest with its green lake, castle and quaint ancient village. We were looked after very well by Phillipe who was on hand when needed but left us to enjoy our week. Highly recommended."

Alfaz del Pi is a town located in the province of Alicante, on the Costa Blanca, Spain. The town nestles in the foothills of the Sierra Helada, in the district of the Marina Baixa.

It is situated 47 kilometers north of Alicante and has a wonderful beachfront, with spectacular views to the huge rock Peñon de Ifach at Calpe.

History
The town dates back to the Moorish occupation. The name "Alfaz" derives from the Arabic word for "sown land", as the region was used to grow fruits and almonds. Later on the town became a fortified settlement, which protected the local coastline against the Barbary pirates.

Alfaz

Alfaz town center is a five minute drive from the villa. Everything you might need for your holiday is available. There are banks where you can be attended in English, Norwegian, German, French and of course Spanish. There are lots of shops, bars, restaurants, cafes, hairdessers and beauticians. The local Friday morning market is ideal for clothes, souvenirs and fresh flowers, fruit and vegetables. Also in the center of Alfaz is the Casa de Cultura (cultural center) where there are often shows, fiestas etc. The center is the hub of the town where everyone congregates. Next door to the cultural building is the sports center with gym and tennis facilities. Whilst Alfaz is a favored residence for all Europeans due to the climate, and although it is cosmopolitan, it still retains a very Spanish feel.

Alfaz has a beautiful cobbled beach at the quiet but upmarket town of Albir, which is a minute drive away, or a local bus can be taken from the town center or Alfaz down to Albir. From Albir you can walk along the prom to the harbor and yacht port of the picturesque old Spanish town of Altea where you can relax in one of the fabulous sea side cafes. Altea is rightfully known as 'A Jewel in the Valencia Region'. This picturesque town looks out over the sea across one of the most delightful bays on the Mediterranean. Overflowing with history, over the centuries Altea has welcomed Iberians, Romans, Moors and Christians, all of whom have contributed to the special culture of these coastal lands. The Old Town, with a walk through the cobbled streets and past the designer boutiques and craft shops up to the 'Domed Church' plaza at the top, should be on everyone's itinerary. In the Plaza the cultural and leisure center of Añtea is the magnificent Church of the Virgen del Consuelo (Our Lady of Solace). Wonderful villa with brilliant sea views! The villa is located in Urb. Panorama of La Nucia, located between Alicante and Valencia, about 60 km to Alicante airport and 120 km to Valencia airport. La Nucia is a small nice village located about 10 km outside Benidorm and about 10 km to Altea / Albir. The villa is high up in a quiet area and has its own pool. From the terraces, pool, garden and the terrace you have a mile wide view of the sea and mountains. The house consists of two separate apartments with separate entrances and has been renovated in 2017. Upstairs with two bedrooms, kitchen, 2 toilets, living room and a wonderful glazed terrace overlooking the sea. The downstairs consists of 3 bedrooms, toilet and bar kitchen and living room.
In low / mid season it is possible to rent only upstairs, see separate information below.

In total there are 5 double beds in the house as well as a sofa bed in the living room upstairs which allows it to sleep up to 12 people in the house. We would love to come again." - "Whilst the host was very affable and generally eager to assist, the introduction on the first day became a list of the things that were not working; Of the 2 Aircon units in the living area, we were advised only one was usable as the other leaked, and of the 4 ceiling fans in the living area only 2 worked. As it turned out, the 1 remaining aircon unit also leaked and so was not usable, leaving NO aircon at all in the living area, and 1 of the 2 'working' ceiling fans only ran on slow speed. The aircon leak was reported and the host had a look, but could not fix and could not get an engineer during our stay. The Living area furniture was horribly stained, and nobody felt comfortable to sit on any of it during our stay, and empty plastic bottles were found under the bed in one room, plus we had to sweep up throughout as there was dust and hairs all over the floor, despite being charged nearly 200 Euros for cleaning, as a mandatory rental fee. We asked for a list of recommended restaurants, which we never got, and it is almost impossible to get local taxis to the location, as all either refused or just put the phone down. During the weekdays, heavy drilling went on from a villa above this one, and on the Thursday gardeners arrived unannounced and the pool and patio area was unusable for 2 hours. Unable to get taxis, even to take us to the airport for a return flight, we had to have a family member come from 120km away to give us a lift. No offer from the host was made to help secure taxis, even though we informed them of the problem. They only sent a few numbers, a couple of which were the same company. Altogether, the property COULD be lovely if cleaned and in working order, but a hire car is essential, and better planning of gardeners etc by the host for when renters are not in the property would avoid inconveniencing those paying to stay there. Not one I would return to nor recommend, as other family members who were renting around the area, attending the same event, had much much better experiences."
