In the villa we found a file with suggestions on what to do in the closer environment. On the day of our arrival, Annette reserved us a table in a lovely restaurant in the city center which gave us a perfect start in our summer vacation. The city center is at around 10 minutes walking distance away from the house. There are several restaurants and a bakery in walking distance. The house also offers a good equiped kitchen and there are also several supermarkets near by for those who want to prepare food by themselves. Outside, on the terrace in front of the house, who have tables where you can sit, eat and enjoy the beautiful view on the ocean. There is a locals beech which is about a 20min walk, the beach is amazing goes on for as long as the eyes can see, there are sun beds down there and a coffee van which does hot and cold drinks. There is also a car park if you have cars. It's a beautiful sandy beech. There are no shops there. We hired cars for a few days to travel to the North of the Island to the watercity Park and to do a boat trip. Most of our days were spent at the villa as it was the perfect place to just chill. The garden is perfect it has shady areas for those who don't want to sit in the sun and the pool is great. All 8 of us were in the pool many times together and there was space. I quite often sat in the little shallow pool with my kindle and read while I stayed cool. I really can't thank Antonio and Sissi enough for an amazing 2 weeks in their Villa. Thank you for being brilliant hosts, we hope to visit again."

Impecably cleaned, very well equipped (incredibly well equipped kitchen!!!), a regularly cleaned swimmingpool, more than anough place for all of us to have our own privacy inside as well as outside, a very nicely built outside eating arrangement. Aristide and Birgit and theur daughter Chrissie were the best hosts ever, providing us with all the information and tips we needed, always prepared to help us. We were invited to help Ari with the grapes picking (he makes a very nice raki...)with all the other tenants of his other houses and share a big dinner at his house. Great experience! We loved Matala and it's atmosphere, the beach at Agi Galini, Delfinos restaurant at Kalimakis Beach, touring on the motor bike via the coastal road to Lendas, trips to heraklion and Rethminon. The girls (at 16) were perhaps a bit disappointed at the possibilities to go out to clubs and bars, but we happiky drove them to Chersonissos a few times (and they took the bus themselves from Pitsidia), so that was solved. We would recommend villa Thalassa to everyone! (no very little children tough, because of the swimming pool)"

- "We spent a week in winter, over new year, in Pitsidia in this wonderful house. It offers all the conditions to enjoy a dreamlike and relaxing holiday even in the colder months. A stove with attached central heating ensures comforting temperatures and coziness in the evenings. - "We had a wonderful week at Villa Inia. We were excited to see the villa and it’s location from the photos we had seen, but the reality was breathtaking. The saltwater pool is beautiful, our three boys had so much fun playing with the shower and jacuzzi. Every aspect of the house has been carefully designed to give visitors the best possible holiday experience, the shaded, outdoor areas are perfect for relaxing and dining and enjoying beautiful sunsets each evening. The interior is gorgeous - very simple and minimal, with spacious rooms, equipped with everything you might need. Birgit and Aristidas were charming, extremely helpful and hospitable and took care of everything for us. It was our first visit to Crete, and we loved it, the area is so beautiful, quiet and unspoilt, we will definitely be back, there is so much more we would like to do! - "The property was perfect for our family of 4 and is beautifully situated at the end of a track up a hill. Everything feels new & minor details have been thought of (salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, bin liners, dishwasher tablets, toilet paper, tea towels, thick bath towels). The garden which is already very pleasant will be delightful once more mature. Our 2 teenagers shared a bedroom and had their own bathroom. Their comments: 'This is the best house we've stayed in. It is very clean, the beds are very comfortable and the aircon made a massive difference'. Jodi & Nikos are only down the road and dealt with any query very swiftly and discreetly. The house is only a 5 minute walk from the very pleasant Pitsidia's where all essentials can be found. We shared our time between the beaches of lively Matala (fab coves to explore and cliff jumping), tranquil Komos (turtle nests but rocky bottom) and our favourite Kalamaki (turtle nests, families but peaceful yet with restaurants & bars by the beach, free parasol & loungers if you have a meal or drink at the restaurant opposite - we kept on going back to Dolfinia Taverna as the food is excellent and the service very friendly . The 40 mins walk to Kalamaki is best done before 9am and is well worth it or 10 mins drive. Water sports/excursions are sparse. We also recommend visiting the nearby Festos, Kamilari, Vori (museum) and Sivas. We did a day trip to Heraklion (1 hour easy drive) to the unmissable archeological museum and too crowded Knossos. Another day trip (1hr30 drive) was spent going to Moni Kato Preveli (monastery) and Preveli Palm Beach - the journey takes you through the mountains so is quite tiring but apart from the stunning scenery, the rich and moving history attached to the monastery and Preveli beach makes it all worth it. The walk to the beach takes about 40 mins (takes good sandals). Prevelli beach is crowded but unique. One morning, we also drove to the reservoir near Faneromenis and drove part way round it. The kids were amazed at the sight of the dam and the scenery the water created in the flooded valley. This was one of our favourite trip though quite off the beaten track. From the day we landed when a lady went out of her way to help us find the motorway (broken GPS) to the day when a shop keeper gave us water for free (lost purse) to the hospitality provided by Jodi and Nikos, we have found Cretan people to be the most hospitable. They can be proud of their island. "
