East canava can comfortably accommodate 4 guests in two vaulted bedrooms, a bathroom accessible through a corridor with antique furniture and mirror and an open plan living room with kitchen and panoramic views to the caldera.

The east canava main bedroom is carved into the rock with a comfortable queen size built-in four poster bed, secluded as a separate living area with its own indoor windows and door, in a fashion typical of traditional santorinian houses. With its inner windows open the bedroom can enjoy sea views while closing the inner windows and door creates a more romantic atmosphere.

The east canava guest bedroom has a double wrought iron bed that gives pillow view to the sea. Both rooms have access to a spacious living room with antique furnitures and a fully equipped kitchen. They share a large cave style bathroom with rainfall shower. There is a table and summer umbrella in the courtyard as well as loungers for sunbathing by the pool.

The Main canava can accommodate up to 4 guests in 2 separate bedrooms and is built between the east and west canavas.

A very spacious dining room, shed with ample natural light welcomes our guests with its large monastery style table which can comfortably sit 12 guests. The kitchen is carved in the rock and designed as a separate area with easy access to the dining hall. Two circular pits in the floor used for treading grapes during wine making have been preserved, covered with glass and are beautifully lit, adding to the special character of this place.

There are two high vaulted ceiling bedrooms in main canava, each with its own en-suite bathroom. One is especially large room carved into the volcanic rock, with a comfortable built-in queen size bed, dressing area with mirror and a large cave style bathroom with bathtub and rainfall shower.

The second bedroom has a comfortable double wrought iron bed, antique furniture, mirror and its own en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower.

A large Suite with high vaulted ceiling bedroom and living room is situated at the upper level.

The suite's living room enjoys uninterrupted panoramic views to the caldera, the volcano and the Aegean sea through its three large windows. It offers an open plan kitchen with double sofa-bed and connects to the main bedroom through a wooden door. Dionyssos Cave House is a recently renovated and very spacious cave house, partly carved in the volcanic rock face. It is located in Oia, on the cliff peak close to the Venetian castle, where everybody gathers to watch Oia’s famous sunset. Due to its unique location, Dionyssos Cave House offers unobstructed views of the caldera and the volcanoes and is only a 2 minutes walk away from Oia’s main street, where all the restaurants and shops are situated.

Dionyssos Cave House is a two-storey house that offers the ideal comfort and privacy to a party of up to 8 guests. The first level, which is the main part of the house, offers a spacious living room, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen that also features a Nespresso coffee maker. The two bedrooms are also situated on the first level. Each bedroom offers a double bed and an en suite bathroom. The one bedroom offers two built in couches as well, that can sleep two extra guests. Furthermore, the first level features a terrace with exquisite views over the caldera, which is the perfect spot for having meals while gazing at the view. The lower terrace also features a heated plunge pool, ideal for relaxing while admiring the dazzling sea views ( The plunge pool is not operational from November 1-March 31).
The lower level terrace leads to the upper level terrace, via the exterior staircase. On the upper level there is a third independent bedroom with a double bed and en suite bathroom. This bedroom is accessed only via the exterior staircase, which is quite steep, so we wouldn't recommend the specific bedroom neither for young children, nor for elderly guests.

There are public parking areas at the entrance of the village, but take into consideration that during high season parking can be challenging.

- "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Menia's cave. Harry and Elizabth were prompt in all correspondence and making sure we were well informed. Check in was smooth and the porter helped us with the luggage. We unfortunately had 4 bags so had to help with 2 of the bags which was understandable and doable (we have strapping 20-year-old boys) but something folks should be aware off if they have more luggage and may need more than one porter. The house is midway on the main Oia market stretch and probably halfway down the stairs which makes the location ideal. Very central. Lots of good restaurants close by. Sunset view just around the corner- though not from the house itself. Views from the porch of the caldera were spectacular. The house is cozy- 2 small bedrooms and a living room and kitchen. The second bedroom was too small for our two 20-year-olds so one used the bedroom and one the couch. But easily manageable. Only one bathroom (and we were aware of it) so that can be a challenge for some. Well equipped kitchen for making breakfast and tea/coffee. Elizabeth- the property manager was available on WhatApp and sent us things to do/places to visit/restaurants to try- and made bookings when we asked. Always available to help- not pushy-no commissions etc. Pure help! Parking in Oia is a bit of a challenge and we had some challenges here since we had a rental car and had to drive around a bit to find a place in some of the dusty/sandy parking lot. EXCELLENT OVERALL"

Swinging Sunset Villa is located in the north of Santorini Island in the traditional settlement of Oia (Ia) village. It is just 400 m. from the village, but so far enough away from “civilization” to be peaceful and the same time quiet. Ammoudi bay is just in walking distance, as well as Katharos beach. From Ammoudi bay you can swim at St.Nicolas Island and rent inflatable boat or arrange a sailing tour, get a trip to Volcano and Thirasia Island or just around Caldera.
This elegant house comes highly recommended and features well-appointed accommodation. It was built to a high standards and is traditionally designed, throughout with much attention to detail. The use of traditional stone and some of the best materials have been included throughout the design and have been used in harmony with the environment! The expansive garden of the property filled with different kind of flowers and bushes have been specially designed to maintain the high standards.

Outside there are a private yard (300 m²) and a balcony, overlooking the Aegean Sea and the most famous sunset, with a BBQ dining area for 8 persons, to enjoy alfresco dining. Also, there is a private outdoor heated hydro massage spa (for 8 persons) and a private swimming pool, which combined with the perfect sea view, will keep you there the whole day. The luxury combined with the ultimate privacy offers an unforgettable stay and a unique experience.

Inside there are 3 bedrooms. One with double king size bed and one with single beds (that can be joined to a double one) at lower level and one king size bed at the upper level loft, which is separate from the others, with its own bath & living room). In addition, at the lower level there is a sofa, which easily transforming to a double queen bed. All bedrooms have wardrobes and air-conditioning. We provide you eco-friendly mattresses & upper bedclothes, as well as feathered pillows. Also, in case that you needed, there are a baby cot and an extra single folding camp bed.
There are two kitchens, full equipped with blender, electric Grill, electric Stove, refrigerator, toaster, filter coffee maker, nespresso coffee maker, boiler, dishes, cooking utensils, pantry items and other modern facilities. Also, there are two dining areas, for 6 persons each.
There is a bathroom on each level (total 2 bathrooms) equipped with toilet, shower, bath towels, hypoallergenic shampoo and shower gel, hair dryer, 220V supply to shaver point and washing machine.

While the villa accommodates easily 8 persons, our strong preference is to limit the number to a maximum of 6, except where children are included.

Accessibility:
The villa is accessible by car with private parking area and doesn't require hard walk at steps of Caldera. Therefore, you have to consider the internal stairs, which drive you to the lower floor and the loft bedroom. People with mobility problems will face difficulties. What is more, young children must be supervised at all times.

Coast/Beach/Swimming:
Katharos beach is accessible by walking (10 minutes). The fabulous Ammoudi small harbor with fishing boats, waterfront taverns and restaurant & St.Nicolas Island is accessible by walking (10 minutes) or by car (3 minutes). Ammoudi is one of the most beautiful spots in Santorini. Get off at the foot of red rock for swimming and also to enjoy fresh fish at the taverns and restaurants. The villa has a private swimming pool, where you can swim in front of one of the best views to the Sunset!

Distances:
'Swinging Sunset Villa' is located 400 m. from Oia village, 30 minute drive from Fira town, 45 minute drive from Santorini airport (17 km) and 40 minute drive from Athinios port (15km). During your stay in Santorini it is recommended to hire a car for easy access throughout the island.

Travel:
Santorini can be reached by air from Athens with two flights per day or by ferry from Piraeus with frequent departures through the year. During the summer period there are additional flights between Santorini and other islands, and charter flights from abroad. There are also nautical connections between Santorini and many other Cyclades islands, Dodecanese, Crete and Thessaloniki.
Santorini can be reached from most international airports via Athens. Athens is served by the Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos and from Athens you can fly to Santorini airport (Thira). Nearly all international flights arriving in Greece allow adequate time for making the connecting flight to Santorini, but because local flights have a minimum seating capacity, please book these flights early.

Travel to Santorini by boat from the Port of Piraeus:
For those participants having extra time, there is a regular ferry boat service to Santorini from Piraeus offering a relaxing, pleasant journey. The cost is reasonable and takes an average of eight to nine hours. In addition there is also the solution of the speedy boats, which make this journey in five hours. Advanced reservations are not usually required on the ferry boats. For exact times, call Piraeus port authorities at: + 30 210 422 6000.

Santorini Transportation:
There are 2 ways to move around Santorini, if you do not have a car or a scooter: the public bus and the taxi. There are connections for every village and on summer time there is a bus every 30 minutes, with the last one at midnight. On winter, the bus runs every 1 hour and the last one is around 9 pm. The central us station is in Fira next to the taxi station. Also keep in mind that the public transportation buses are green. Any other color you will see they are tourist buses. The buses here do not have automatic machines, so you have to have money with you to pay the collector. Maximum cost per ride is 2 euro per person, depending where you are going.
The taxis are available on winter, but extremely hard to find on summer therefore we strongly recommend booking your transportation before you arrive. If you want to try your luck you can try book a taxi, if you go to the central square of Fira.

It is far enough away from the hustle and bustle to feel peaceful, yet is an easy walk into the center of Oia and down to Ammoudi Bay. The staff at Sunset Villas were all friendly and helpful. We booked several things through them. The entire property, inside and out, was kept immaculate. There is tons of room to spread out. We lived outdoors most of the time-even the one day we had some rain we could eat outdoors with the gorgeous views because it was covered. The one thing that wasn’t obvious from the pictures and description is the layout. It worked really well for us. The main bedrooms are downstairs with the larger kitchen and a bathroom with washing machine. The main level where you walk in, contains the largest sitting area and the stairs to the loft. We used both spaces and we could shut the door between the lower level and main level to give the loft occupants privacy. We appreciated being able to order breakfast, lunch, and dinner to our place when we didn’t feel like going out. All the food was delicious. Although we did go the mini markets, it was helpful to be able to order some groceries to be delivered. This place made our trip to Santorini more memorable and we would definitely recommend it looking for a beautiful place to stay."

The house is in a very busy area of Oia because of the amazing sunset view.. there will be crowds at your doorstep at sunset but once inside the house it is a completely private oasis. It really is a great location which explains the crowds. The master bedroom is beautiful and the second bedroom is really nice and they can accommodate a queen bed or two twin beds. The home is spacious and beautiful! We would definitely stay here again!"
