Villa di Cerretino takes its name from the small wood of Cerri (dialectal form with which in ancient times the oak was indicated) in which it is immersed near Bonistallo. The unusual central courtyard scheme with typical elements of the fortifications (such as the circular corner turrets and the walls) and the strategic position from which the road between Florence and Pistoia dominates feeds the hypothesis that the structure was built on the remains of the fort of the Torrebecchi, of the Strozzi, conquered and destroyed in 1325 by the troops of Castruccio Castracani in an attempt to conquer Carmignano.
The military architecture of the late fifteenth century is mixed with elements of rural construction and the noble villa through the various transformations undergone between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Our house is about 450 square meters surrounded by a park of about 30000 square meters.
Part of the house is destined for activities of B&B. The owners live on the other side of the hause.

All the bedrooms are air-conditioned effectively. The pool is in excellent shape and is maintained daily. The owner lives next-door and was helpful whenever needed. For example, when we noted the absence of an outdoor grill, a brand new one was provided the next day. The concierge, Miguel, was superb. He booked and recommended restaurants, organized airport tranfers and taxis,including one on short notice from Florence, and organized chefs to come to the villa to prepare 3 different dinners. He helped with literally anything we needed. In addition to all of this, “grandma“ went over the top. One evening we inquired about a local Doctor that we thought we might need for one of the children the next day. Grandma would have none of it. She drove over, took mother and child to a closed pharmacy, caused it to open and sought to get medication. When the pharmacist said he required a prescription, grandma called a local doctor, brought mother and child to the doctor and got a prescription. All of this was done with no charge. "

- "Firstly, I could not get in touch with the property host after making multiple attempts to contact him. The morning of our scheduled arrival, I had to contact Vbro to file a complaint.The property was very old and grimy. The internet did not work at all - and we had people who were working remotely so had to leave to town to connect with internet. The power went out 2 days in a row and we had to wait 6 hours before an electrician came over and the second time, waited overnight for power. When the power went out, the entrance gate would not open as well, trapping us inside with no option to leave the property. The pool cleaning was scheduled while we were at the property and we could not use the pool for one day. The jacuzzi was broken and not working. The linen and towels smelled terrible, not fresh at all. The lawn and garden was dry and dead and unkept with cigarette butts everywhere. In general, the property needs updating, fixing and maintaining - We paid a lot of money for 3 days and it was a terrible experience for a party of 11 people with no power, no internet, no pool. Lastly- Please do a better job of screening properties. This vacation was planned a year in advance with my family, and we were traveling all the way from New York, USA. To end up in the situation that we did is absolutely unacceptable."

The area of Carmignano, well known for its wines, offers wine tasting facilities and tipical little town to visit. In 5 minutes by car it is possible to visit the beautiful Artimino which is famous for the stunning Villa Medici "La Ferdinanda" and some nice restaurant and little bars where you can try the local wines and food with an incredible view from above over the city.
