House location in the city is fantastic, not too far away from anything, quiet neighborhood although there is a hospital nearby so there's an occasional ambulance. Outside: The gravel driveway enters/exits sideways from a hill and is a bit of slope down. Rain has washed away much of the gravel where the drive meets the street and there's a gap that some cars will get stuck in, or even have had time getting up the driveway. There was a large pile of blown leaves by the garage door and much of any landscaping needs a little time. At first glance it looks kinda abandoned. A large portion of the driveway is shaded by trees and yo can get about 1/3 of a car under the garage overhang. Inside: Awesome. Looks new. Sofa, TV w/ faux fireplace. Bedroom, soft VERY comfy bed. Overall, a spartan layout. A couple of nice chairs (1 each in BR and LR) would be a cool touch. The kichenette area is well set. Wine glasses, silverware, serving / cooking utensils, etc. all ready to go. There's only a small microwave, no stove or oven. There's a dish sink and everything needed to knock out dishes is under the sink. Only thing missing was running water. Checking underneath, no results. I didn't use any dishes this time, but maybe next time... Bathroom was cool, big fluffy towels and hotel size courtesy soap if you need it. Lots of hot water!! Outside by the door would be a great spot for a patio setup. If you have a couple of chairs in your vehicle, get em."

In the mid 1940's this building was once the very popular Tremain Brothers Lunchroom, and the main road through Jefferson City was present day McCarty. Jefferson City natives fully recognize the location as the Tremain Building, so named today.

We have plenty of space inside for your bicycles . The most scenic part of the trail is found along this stretch. Many other activities are close by including a winery and many wonderful food and shopping options. Step back in time and appreciate what Rocheport has to offer. My property is two blocks from the trail as well as the famous Meriwether Cafe you will have the complete apartment to yourself with an adjustable bed for your lounging/ sleeping comfort. The covered patio is private for your use as well. A short drive to Columbia as well! The upper level apartment is reserved for the owners use and is completely separate from the lower apartment. You will have the back yard for your private use as well. Light breakfast options including breakfast bars, instant oatmeal, nut/fruit packet, coffee and juice.

My wife and I enjoyed birdwatching, dinner, and a game of cribbage on the porch you see in the photo. The porch offers a very relaxing extension off the bedroom from where one has a wonderful view of the surroundings I just watched an episode of This Old House that featured the same lighting that adorns the patio. We are grateful that the owners accepted our minature schnauzer and feel so fortunate after pedaling the 35 mile scenic portion of the Katy Trail from Jefferson City to Rocheport to find a place likje this retreat."

No smoking cigs inside!!! Cigarettes must be smoked outside and cigarette trash disposed of. If cigarette butts or trash are found outside by cleaner, a $50 fine will be charged to your account. Cigarette smoking inside will result in a $500 fine. Pick up after pets or minimum $50 additional charge.

Parking is important. As this is a duplex, make sure you park in the driveway in the spots parallel to the sidewalk - 2 cars should be able to fit here! The tenant to the other unit in the duplex parks to the right of the door that is in the driveway. Just send a message if you have questions!

Pets must be approved. Pet fee is $75/pet to allow for extra cleaning time. Pets must be kennel trained. Pet waste must be picked up and disposed of. If pet waste is not picked up, a $100 fee will be charged to your account.
