The entrance to Shenandoah Valley Park is less than 10 minutes away also making this a great location to stay! This is a hikers dream! The property is completely renovated and stocked nicely! We really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend it to everyone! Only two small negative things to consider is there was no TV in the family room, but there are TV’s in each bedroom! Also the showers are extremely small! But we managed quite well and would definitely consider staying here again!"

This vintage apartment above downtown shop is just plain charming. It is decorated with lots of light - and personality!
Enjoy your morning coffee on the porch swing and wait for the train to come by. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed and large closet. There is a turntable and some vinyl there for your enjoyment.

This basement apt has a living room with TV and DVD player, the bedroom is separated from the living area by glass french doors. Down the hall, you will find your own washer/dryer and a modest but cute kitchen(with everything one needs for cooking but no stove- but electric surface hot pads(2) )toaster oven and microwave. Then a full bath with shower. Outside your private entrance there is plenty of on street parking. The apt is not dark as there are small windows and good lighting. There are approx. 6 steps once inside to reach the apt. Like a typical basement, ceilings are not that high, so if you are over 6 feet tall -you may feel like you are in a Hobit house!
Overall charming feel and also has a cozy gas fireplace. Great little spot !

Lovely and recently renovated apartment! The downstairs is a lovely open floor plan. Cozy but classy and we have a full working kitchen in there as well which is an open space to the living roon. Sink, stove, oven etc. Pots and pans and everything in the kitchen is for you to use if you would like! We try to leave our guests fresh eggs from the chickens and organic produce when available. Upstairs is a cozy loft with a nice bed. Free wifi included and there is netflix and hulu available to you as well. The shared space that is closer to our home (backyard) is the firepit and grill which you are welcome to use and enjoy the views while you are at it. You will be on a farm- we have free range chickens and turkeys that wander around the farm most of the time and lots of horses in view! We hope you enjoy your stay and look forward to hosting you!

- "This is a wonderful historic house in Old Town Winchester. The house is a duplex and is very room. It has the charm of a historic house, but modern amenities. It is very comfortable and check-in was extremely easy (we ended up arriving much later than we had planned, but had no problems accessing the house). The location is absolutely perfect, especially if you want to be in walking distance to all of the cute shops, cafes, and restaurants in the area. Our trip was very fast. We were in town for a wedding, so we didn't have nearly enough time to really explore and take advantage of everything the area has to offer, but we would gladly return. We did get a chance to watch a fun dog Halloween costume parade while enjoying excellent coffee at an outdoor cafe! Would gladly go back for a longer stay!"

There is a living room with sofa bed and comfortable seating for 6-8 that opens into a dining area with mid century table to gather around, desk work space and fold out futon for additional guests. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities you will need for your stay including large pantry with washer and dryer. Up the staircase to second floor is the full bath with tub and three spacious bedrooms: back bedroom has bunk bed ( twin over full) , and 2nd flat screen tv ( ROKU) middle bedroom has queen bed and is a walk thru (each bedroom has own door for privacy). Front bedroom has a queen bed and sitting area.
The upper, rear and front porches are great for relaxing. The historic “Homespun” is located on the border between Frederick County and the city of Winchester. Originally built in the mid 1790’s the Homespun is significant in local architecture as an example of a dogtrot-plan structure, a rare building form of this period. The property is listed on the National register of Historic Places and Virginia Landmark Registry.

When you arrive you will enter through the narrow entrance of the stone and stucco pillars to the right of the main house and follow the driveway back to your private entrance and Airbnb oasis. Don't forget to say hello to the chickens, who make possible the offering of fresh eggs - available for you in your fridge. Your kitchen is stocked with all essentials, coffee (Keurig) tea and basic spices. Snacks and breakfast supplies are available for your use and usually a homemade gluten free baked treat will be awaiting your arrival.

Absolutely no pets allowed - sadly, I have severe allergies and live upstairs, so pet dander gets into the ducts and causes me much misery. I wish I could host your sweet fur babies but I unfortunately cannot.

This suite is adjacent to our furnace room so you will hear normal furnace noises as our furnace system kicks on and off. If you are a light sleeper, 1 pair of ear plugs are provided (based on availability), or bring your own. Also, because 3 of us live upstairs, you may hear footsteps and other muffled noises. We do not have small children or pets so upstairs noise should be minimal.

The suite does not have a thermostat. Do not hesitate to contact us if you'd like the temperature adjusted.

We would like to inform you that there is a friendly dog on premise of the house. She will never be in the lower level unit. While she may occasionally bark and engage in playful activities, we assure you that she poses no threat. During your stay, you may encounter her outside during her potty breaks or playtime.

If your request to have a dog during your stay is granted, we kindly request that you utilize the wooded areas for the purpose of allowing your pet to relieve itself. This measure is intended to maintain the cleanliness of the yard, ensuring it remains free from any fecal matter. Our water is spring-fed so just bring your reusable water bottle for your adventure.

This vintage apartment above historic downtown shop is just plain delightful. It us unique with lots of light and personality.
Wonderful alternative to the typical hotel experience. Or for short term rental needs.
Host Recommendations:
There is a fab little restaurant with great sushi, called Chopsticks, it's right up the street and around the corner just a half block east.
Down the street the other direction toward downtown just a block and a half is
The Walking Mall that boasts all sorts of fun places, delicious restaurants:
El Centro - Mexican
Romas- Italian
Union Jacks- British fare
Winchester Thai -Sushi Thai
and many more …
some Saturdays there is a farmers market.
The George Washington Hotel across the street has the Half Note Lounge and the often have live music as well.
The apartment is above a small photography studio and behind it there is free parking for up to 2 cars where it says tenant parking.
On warmer weather weekends there is live music @Piccadilly's Public House ( also good eats) across the street so be sure to bring along your dancing shoes.
We do provide ear plugs for guests use should they want them. The train next door does go by and sounds its horn but its all part of the charm of downtown Winchester.
For Breakfast walk down to the Piccadilly Grill for old fashioned counter top eating.

Down the street toward downtown a block and a half I'd Steamy's a really unique bohemian little cafe with homemade bagels. Tell Lenny the owner "hello!"
The Walking Mall is just two blocks down and boasts all sorts of fun places, and on Saturdays a farmers market.
The apartment is above a vintage consignment shop with free parking for up to 2 cars behind the shop where it says tenant parking.
The Bedroom in the apt is in the rear of the building but if you need to get up early on weekend mornings we do have earplugs should you need them ...there is live music at Piccadilly's across the street on the weekends in the warmer weather, so be sure to bring along your dancing shoes.
