You will see natural wild life including elk, deer, buffalo and turkey right from the front deck. Inside, a state of the art heat pump keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The kitchen and dining area have great views and come fully stocked with dishes, silverware, pots and pans, coffee maker, toaster, blender, plus all the major appliances-refrigerator, stove and microwave. The main area has new flooring in 2023 and plenty of seating, windows for a view, and big screen TV. The downstairs family room has all the amenities of home including a satellite receiver, DVR, big screen TV, Nintendo Wii gaming system (with games or bring your own) and a DVD player. Stay connected with wireless internet throughout.

Three bedrooms that include the loft all with queen beds will sleep six. Additional sleeping areas will accommodate air beds (provided). The master bedroom on the main floor includes a queen bed, deck with a view, and bathroom. The second bedroom on the lower level also has a queen bed and bath across the hall. The loft bedroom with queen bed has envious views of the Southern Black Hills. The two baths are fully stocked with towels and basic toiletries. You have your own laundry with full sized washer and dryer for your use.

It has a full kitchen and full bathroom. This cabin offers privacy and seclusion with beautiful views of the lake and forest. There is no cable, and no TV but we do get great cell coverage. This cabin has plenty of room to relax, disconnect, and get lost in the amazing views. The porch area has four chairs, a small table, and a grill. Sleeps four.

This cabin has a lake on site for your use. There is also a store on site where you can rent kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, and purchase any items you may have forgot. You can also purchase a license for catch and release fishing.

Our Buffalo cabin is designed in honor of our local buffalo friends residing at Wind Cave National Park and Custer State Park. This is a 486 square foot cabin with one bedroom with a queen sized bed, a living area with a full size futon for extra guests, kitchen table, and full kitchen and bathroom. This cabin has a nice porch area with beautiful views of the lake. There are two chairs, a small table, and grill on the porch. There are games and books to help you relax after a busy day exploring. There is no cable, and no TV but we do get great cell coverage. Maximum 4 guests.

This cabin has a lake on site for your use. There is also a store on site where you can rent kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, and purchase any items you may have forgot. You can also purchase a license for catch and release fishing.

Less than 2 minutes up the road is Cold Brook Reservoir where you can enjoy more lake time and lake activities.

Our cabin is conveniently located just minutes from Hot Springs. In the town of Hot Springs you can enjoy restaurants, shopping, and many attractions including Evans Plunge Mineral Spring, Moccasin Springs Mineral Spa, The Mammoth Site, Pioneer Museum, World Fossil Finder Museum and much more.

This cabin is also located 10 minutes from Wind Cave National Park and 15 minutes from Custer State Park. Both parks boast a multitude of hiking trails and outdoor activities and Wind Cave provides cave tours. The town of Custer is 45 minutes away and Mount Rushmore National Monument is an hour and forty-five minutes away.

Our Canoe cabin is a two bedroom cabin decorated with canoes! This is a 682 square foot cabin that has two bedrooms with a full sized bed in each room, full kitchen, and a full bathroom. There is also a sofa bed in the living room. This cabin has a two sliding glass doors that open up onto a huge wrap around porch area with beautiful views of the lake. There are chairs, a small table, and propane grill on the porch. There are games and books to help you relax after a busy day exploring. There is no cable, and no TV but we do get great cell coverage. Maximum guests six people.

- "Loved this house! It was perfect for 2 people and a small dog - I can't imagine having anymore people in there, although there are beds upstairs. The only issue was that the flood light from the neighboring garage was directly in the bedroom window. We bought some thumbtacks and put a towel over the window otherwise we couldn't sleep. I messaged the host and recommended black out curtains and she said she'll be adding that so I'm sure this will be resolved going forward. Host was super responsive and the place was very clean, and a wonderfully stocked kitchen. No spices/salt/pepper/cooking oils (a lot of places have these these days) so just come prepared! I would recommend this place for sure!"

- "Unfortunately there was a bug infestation not their fault, but difficult to deal with, mice in room, and the air condition would not work, however they hooked us up with a temporary unit which cooled the room nicely, but the bugs in the room were bad on the last night. - "Probably one of the cleanest hotels rooms we have EVER stayed in. Excellent room with a huge smart TV, cushioned carpet, two different sinks, hot water, good wifi, and a microwave mini fridge. The only downside to this stay is the location. It is incredibly far away from Custer (and attractions) and a large portion of the drive to the hotel is gravel roads."

Columbine Cabin (formerly Kamryn's Kottage) at Highland Meadows Resort is a one-room cabin located atop a private mesa overlooking Hot Springs, South Dakota. A short drive from The Mammoth Site, Wind Cave, Mount Rushmore, and Custer State Park — among many other attractions.

Relax out back in a private hammock, grill up some burgers on your private grill, or sit back in Adirondacks and enjoy an evening fire. This cabin comes with a gas fire pit. A shared wood fire pit is accessible nearby.

This is one of several units located atop a 12.5 acre mesa with stunning views of the southern Black Hills of South Dakota. It's quiet, peaceful, and home to many types of wildlife.

This cabin is in a studio layout. The bed, kitchen, and table occupy the same room. The bathroom is attached but in a separate room.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The camping cabin offers a camping experience with some of the comforts of home. The cabin is located in the Sunrise Ridge Campground.

The space
The cabin features 2 queen beds, a small refrigerator, coffee maker, grill, outdoor dining and a deck for enjoying our beautiful sunrises over Battle Mountain. You will have 24 hour access to the campground bath house that is a few yards from the cabin.

Other things to note
We provide the bed linens. We do not provide cooking utensils or dinnerware. The bathroom is in the bath house nearby. Towels available upon request only.
The cabin is located in the Sunrise Ridge Campground.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to guests being disrespectful of our property, there will be an additional charge if your pet is allowed to sleep in the bed and leave hair everywhere. The clean-up requires multiple washings of the bedding and repeated vacuuming.

This is one of two cabins located on our working quarter horse ranch nestled in the splendor of the Southern Black Hills, of South Dakota. 4 miles from Hot Springs. Modern bunkhouse with queen and bunk bed, shower, and a kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker, and small refrigerator.

There is no wifi in the bunkhouse.

The space
Working ranch with scenic pine-forested landscape and open meadows in the Southern Black Hills of South Dakota. Quiet and private but accessible to town, area public lands, and attractions. Very convenient to Black Hills National Forest, Wind Cave National Park, Angostura State Park/Lake, Custer State Park, & Wild Horse Sanctuary. Just 4 miles from town of Hot Springs with Evans Plunge & Mammoth Site. Close to SD/NE border. Remote area but rich with more hidden treasures and public land (see Guidebook with our airbnb listing). Log bunkhouse completely refurbished in 2014. All buildings, including the bunkhouse, were creatively built by your host. Working Quarter Horse ranch so you may see trainers at work during your stay. We welcome both those traveling with horses and the horseless.

Guest access
Guests have access to the bunkhouse, outdoor grilling area and the property for hiking and horseback riding (with your own horses). Corrals available next to bunkhouse.

Other things to note
Plenty of great photography opportunities with the ranch setting, wildflowers, and horses. Fantastic view of the night sky.

We encourage you to reserve time to relax at the ranch as well as Hot Springs beautiful City Parks. Have a picnic and take a dip in the warm river at Brookside Park or Chautauqua Park. Walk or bike along the Fall River on the Freedom Trail.

Numerous suggestions for mountain or road biking. We're your hub and spoke location.

Enjoy the best views of the meadow and local wildlife atop our private mesa from Meadow Cabin. Surrounded by pine trees and open sky, Cabin 2 (Meadow) offers comfort, privacy, and daily visits from deer, rabbits, and wild turkeys.

We have two cabins. The cabins both sleep up to five people with a queen bed, fold out sofa (double) and a small loft with a twin bed. There is a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, microwave, air-fryer, and coffee maker. The cabin's grill has a side burner. All linen, dishes, silverware and pots and pans are included. We live on 30 acres and the Black Hills National Forest is our back-fence neighbor. We are almost at the end of the dead-end road.

The space
We are 20 miles from Custer, 25 miles from Hot Springs. Custer State Park is 25 miles and the same distance to Crazy Horse. Wind Cave is 10 miles away.

The cabin is set up. We do housekeeping duties while our guests are out for the day.

After a busy day exploring The Black Hills this is the perfect spot to relax and recharge. There is no wifi, cable, or TV but we do get great cell coverage There is a lake on site for your use and you can rent watercraft and purchase a license for fishing. Conveniently located just minutes from Hot Springs. In the town of Hot Springs you can enjoy restaurants, shopping, and many attractions including Evans Plunge Mineral Spring, Moccasin Springs Mineral Spa, The Mammoth Site, and more.

This is a one room cabin with a nice porch area with beautiful views of the lake. This cabin has a lake on site for your use and you can rent watercraft, float in the lake, and fish. There is plenty to do in and around the Hot Springs area. We are minutes away from many local attractions and an hour away from some of the most notable South Dakota attractions. If you are looking for rest, relaxation, disconnecting and spending time outdoors this cabin is perfect for you!

Enjoy a beautiful start to your day as the sun rises over Battle Mountain, the backdrop to our campground. The Ridge View Cabin is a two room log cabin which sleeps up to 6 people. The cabin has a queen size bed, full size bed, sofa sleeper and futon. Enjoy the convenience of a small kitchen, private bathroom and a beautiful deck to grill your favorite meal while you watch the wildlife wander on the 70 acre property. This cabin is dog friendly and offers a spacious dog park on property.

Walking Bull Ranch--The perfect getaway for family, couples, or groups close to all Black Hills amenities with private 40 acres of forests, meadows, and trails. Access to the Michelson Trail nearby. Two cabins that can be rented separately or together: 1) Bunkhouse can sleep 8 ; handicapped accessible; new TV, DVD & WiFi; modern kitchen. Amazing back deck into the woods; 2) The Log Cabin where you can get away from it all. Sleeps 4-6; 1 full bath. Horse Barn available.

The space
Close to the Black Hills, Hot Springs, and Custer but away from crowded tourist camps. Beautiful 40 acres of forrest with wildlife. Watch the wild turkeys from the decks of either the Bunkhouse or Log Cabin. The Bunkhouse has bookshelves stocked with games and activities for kids and adults as well as a library on Native American topics.
Walking Bull Ranch Retreat is also a cultural learning center and will host annual summer retreats/seminars. If you want to have your own mini-national park this is the place away from tourist crowds! Tent camping sites are available at no additional cost for large family gatherings. Close to the Michelson Trail where you can bike, hike or horse back ride for 108 miles in the Black Hills. Two-box-stall barn and ring for horses are available upon special request.

All 40 acres with trails. The two cabins can be rented together or separately and both are privately located in beautiful woods and meadows way off the main highway. Two-stall horse barn with training ring available upon special request from the owner with vaccination and cleaning rules.

Other things to note
Cabins in this region are on cisterns due to the granite/stone geology of the Black Hills, i.e., its impossible to dig deep wells. Rental price for each cabin includes 1800 gal. of free Hot Springs city water in the cisterns at each cabin. You might want to bring bottled water if you don't like the taste of processed city water for drinking. The Bunkhouse rents for $300 per night and the Log Cabin rents for $200 per night In addition to the rental price, there is a $300.00 cleaning fee for the Bunkhouse ($200 for the Log Cabin) with a four night minimum stay; and a $200.00 cleaning fee for the Cabin (4 night minimum stay) as well as a $500 security refundable security deposit for each building. The security deposit will be refunded after the property manager inspects each cabin after your rental for any damage, or evidence of smoking in each building. Smoking inside is prohibited but outside is ok....just be careful not to start a forrest fire!! (See Property Rules). Cabins in the woods (esp. log cabins) attract insects. Each cabin will be cleaned and sprayed before your visit, but the Fall Season especially attracts boxelder bugs and other insect species. A few bugs may appear, esp. in the cabin even after the above cleaning protocols. This is just part of living in the country and in a 40 acre forrest. None of these insects are dangerous. Just sweep them up and throw them out the door or in the trash if you find any. We will do our best to inspect each cabin again right before your visit. Up to two pets/dogs are allowed just please keep them off the two carpeted bedrooms in the Bunkhouse.
