I thought a couple actual coffee mugs would be nice, but at least there was something to put coffee in! Also, we booked for 6 people, but there were only enough towels and dishes for 4 people. We are just 2 miles from Pactola lake, located along Hwy 385, pavement the entire way with only a short gravel drive to the cabins.

Our cabins are modern and have tasteful finishes. Decorated in the genre of wildlife, Black Hills history and native american traditions of the local area. We have used locally sourced materials in our building as well as highlighting local artists in our decor. Each master bed is covered with an authentic handmade native star quilt.

Spend your days visiting historic landmarks, quaint Hills towns, or parks and lakes, then come back to your cabin to rest and relax by our large campfire site. As you sit out and enjoy the campfire, you can see the stars with no light pollution. Depending on the time of year you can hear the owls calling to one another, hear the singing of the coyotes, the bugling of the elk, or listen to the turkey as they get ready to roost. Our cabins help you to enjoy the action-packed days of your vacation even more by giving you a place to come and relax and enjoy nature at the end of your day.

Main floor has 1 plush high quality queen bed & linens; table and chairs, 43" smart tv with blu-ray player & 50+ dvds. If you choose to bring your gaming system, an HDMI cord is provided. We also have a collection of books and board games if that is more your speed. Each cabin has a CELLULAR WIFI HOTSPOT, and excellent cell reception for Verizon customers. PLEASE NOTE: no cable or satellite available.

Also on the main floor, the full-size modern kitchen is equipped with utensils, dishes, and cookware. Bring your groceries and prepare your own meals. Some food items such as condiments and seasonings, a variety of teas/coffee/flavorings & creamers/apple cider/hot chocolate is provided. We also provide fresh eggs from our chickens.

The roomy 8' x 10' main floor bathroom is well lit and has a shower, sink and toilet. Also included are hair dryer, full length mirror, quality towels and common hotel amenities.

The 8' x16' loft has 2 queen mattresses on the floor. The head room of the loft goes from 4ft to 6ft in the peaked center. This area is the perfect space for children & teenagers!

The outdoor area has a large fire pit with seating, gas grill, picnic tables, and toys & yard games.

These 13 cabins are centrally located to everything the Black Hills has to offer!

We are just 2 miles from Pactola lake, located along Hwy 385, pavement the entire way with only a short gravel drive to the cabins.

Our cabins are modern and have tasteful finishes. Decorated in the genre of wildlife, Black Hills history and native american traditions of the local area. We have used locally sourced materials in our building as well as highlighting local artists in our decor. Each master bed is covered with an authentic handmade native star quilt.

Spend your days visiting historic landmarks, quaint Hills towns, or parks and lakes, then come back to your cabin to rest and relax by our large campfire site. As you sit out and enjoy the campfire, you can see the stars with no light pollution. Depending on the time of year you can hear the owls calling to one another, hear the singing of the coyotes, the bugling of the elk, or listen to the turkey as they get ready to roost. Our cabins help you to enjoy the action-packed days of your vacation even more by giving you a place to come and relax and enjoy nature at the end of your day.

Main floor has 1 plush high quality queen bed & linens; table and chairs, 43" smart tv with blu-ray player & 50+ dvds. If you choose to bring your gaming system, an HDMI cord is provided. We also have a collection of books and board games if that is more your speed. Each cabin has a CELLULAR WIFI HOTSPOT, and excellent cell reception for Verizon customers. PLEASE NOTE: no cable or satellite available.

Also on the main floor, the full-size modern kitchen is equipped with utensils, dishes, and cookware. Bring your groceries and prepare your own meals. Some food items such as condiments and seasonings, a variety of teas/coffee/flavorings & creamers/apple cider/hot chocolate is provided. We also provide fresh eggs from our chickens.

The roomy 8' x 10' main floor bathroom is well lit and has a shower, sink and toilet. Also included are hair dryer, full length mirror, quality towels and common hotel amenities.

The 8' x16' loft has 2 queen mattresses on the floor. The head room of the loft goes to 5ft in the peaked center. This area is the perfect space for children & teenagers!

The outdoor area has a large fire pit with seating, gas grill, picnic tables, and toys & yard games.

The cabins and site are clean and well maintained. The attentive hosts are friendly, hospitable and live on site to be available for your needs and questions.

We are centrally located, within 45 minutes or less of nearly all that the Hills have to offer such as Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Deadwood and Sturgis. This location is also perfect for year-round seasonal activities such as boating, fun at the lake, hunting and fishing, skiing, hiking trails, rock climbing, geocaching, ATV and snowmobiling.

The welcome book is full of information about the area and super helpful material for families like mine who plan day by day. This was a great location for us as we hit Mt Rushmore, Needles, Custer, Spearfish, Sylvan, and Rapid City. My family loved the farm animals and interacting with them daily-especially the bunnies! You do have to drive down a gravel/clay road for about 5 miles to get to this place after leaving the main road, but the road is very well maintained and not a problem at all. Matt and Jen are wonderful hosts who live on the property and available for any questions or issues you might have. We would definitely stay here again!"

There are hiking, biking, ATV, and horseback trails on property and surrounding it. From the deck, Black Elk Peak can be seen. Air conditioning, shower, dishwasher, newly remodeled kitchen (with all essentials), king sized bed and a couch that folds out into a full bed are some of the features that this amazing property has to offer. - "Booked the cabin for the Surgis Rally. When booking I booked for 3 guests intead of 4. Dawn was always available for questions and responded quickly. I later added an additional guest. She was accomadating. We arrived to a loaf of her fresh sour dough bread. Which was delicious. The cabin itself was clean and had plenty of space inside. Furnished with everything you will need. I wanted to give him that experience so what better place than to visit Mount Rushmore and the state parks. Browsing through some cabins I came across this one and I confidently will say that this was one of the best cabins Ive rented. Absolutely spotless when we arrived. They have almost all the little amenities you can think of from plates, coffee mugs, silverware, both types of coffee machines, a bucket with some sports equipment which we did play a little bit of whiffle ball in the field. The cabin as a whole was very cozy and peaceful with plenty of deers and turkeys cutting through the property. I would without a doubt rent this cabin again. The space
This 20'x20' cabin was built in the 50's for the builders of the dam at Pactola Reservoir, and was moved from Pactola onto the site when the dam was completed. There is a fully equipped kitchen - microwave, stove, coffee pot, toaster, dishes and utensils. There is a gas grill that is shared with other guests. Linens and towels provided. Queen size bed and a twin sofa sleeper. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink.

The cabin is yours for the duration of your stay. There is a communal yard with a fire pit. The cabin is in Silver City and has neighbors. Our house, and main office, is right next door.

Other things to note
We have a SD Department of health B & B license and a sales tax license. We have been hosting guests in this cabin since 1996.

Home is 8 miles outside of Rapid City. We have Century Link for the internet it sometimes does not work . If you need to have internet 100% of the time this will not work for you. Two of our tvs are on cable so always work one is on the internet and works if internet is working.

The space
The house has two bedrooms one bathroom with 2 sinks. Three TVs 32 inch. Dining room has a large table with seating for six. Full Kitchen with all cooking essentials.

Our house is located about 500 feet from the highway across a creek, the highway provides great access to all the attractions in the area. While you may hear some traffic noise at times, many guests find it manageable.

Find solace in nature's embrace just six miles away from Rapid City. Centrally located in the Black Hills National Forest, surrounded by the beauty of nature and popular attractions. This rustic chalet cabin features 3-levels and is nestled in the pines on two acres, surrounded by only forest services to the back of the cabin. Hike or ski directly from the property to Buzzards Roost or beyond! Sit back and relax on one of the the two large desks on either the front and back of the cabin.

The space
Walk into the ground level which has the queen bed, washer/dryer, wood-burning stove
Walk up the stairs to the second level where you will find the bathroom, kitchen, and dining areas and access to the front and rear decks. The third-level loft has two twin beds that make you feel like you are sleeping in the stars. Stairs to access this are not suitable for children under 6.
The home has the original pine flooring. Our cabin is rustic and a true A-frame.

Other things to note
There is a carport available for parking that provides protection from the elements as needed. There is additional non-covered parking as you need.

Parking Trailers or any other vehicles is NOT allowed in the grassy area in the front of the property. There is a septic system in this area. Parking allowed on the driveway/road leading up to the property or in the area of the car port on the side of the home. Please reach out for more information on traveling with trailers.

Mini-split A/C provides for comfort to assist with temp control in the warmer months of the year and to keep you warm in winter. (All of the heat sources have been labeled for your ease in finding a comfortable temp within the cabin). PLEASE follow instructions for use. If not followed, you are at risk of freezing the unit up which you will be responsible for.

*****Wood burning stove can be used upon request for an additional fee as we will start this for you, so you will only need to feed the fire during your stay for use of a heat source. Due to the location and height of the chimney, there are some special techniques used to get the fire going. Cove heat as well as the mini-split will provide the cabin with enough heat to keep you comfortable.

This cozy cabin is located just outside of town situated at the beginning of a scenic route through a beautiful canyon where you'll find hiking trails, cute little towns, and swimming holes. Although you're not far from downtown Rapid City or highway/interstate access (5-10 minutes), the trees and wildlife make you feel like you're out in the woods!This is the perfect spot to recharge during your trip. Just 30 minutes to Mount Rushmore one direction or 30 minutes to Sturgis in the other.

The space
Louise's is a one room cabin with a complete kitchen, stone fireplace, and newly remodeled bathroom. The cabin is small, but perfect for two! You'll find the essentials...including but not limited to coffee and plenty of extra blankets. The kitchen was designed to maximize functionality of the space, with a fold down section of counter. You can utilize the extension for cooking or dining, or fold it away to make space for..activities! Solid wifi connection and smart tv where you can connect to your desired streaming service and enjoy a movie with some jiffy pop! Next to the cabin is a private garden for dining or grilling, and is the perfect spot to watch the deer, stargaze, and listen to the owls hoot and the turkeys call. In the 'woods' there is also a lovely secluded hammock for two, great for a lazy afternoon nap in the trees. Behind the cabin is a dog run which is shared by other residents and guests..or their dogs anyway.

Other things to note
The driveway is as unique as the rest of the property! Your cabin is situated near the top of a hill. The gravel driveway leads you there, and is not especially steep. There will be several parking options depending on your needs, including parking at an incline right above or in front of the cabin, or parking in a more level area with a short walk up-hill to your accommodation. Believe me, there is no special vehicle or skill set required in order to access the cabin! We simply believe it should be noted that the cabin is not necessarily handicap accessible, as traversing uneven ground to reach the cabin and the included outdoor areas will be required at some point.

We're nestled between the Rapid City limits and the beginning of a scenic canyon. Smiley's cabin is homey and cozy! We know you'll be very comfy : ) Don't be surprised to find families of deer and turkey right outside your door!
This place is near enough to downtown and the interstate to make everything from town and popular places to visit around the Black Hills perfectly accessible, while still being at the edge of a quiet neighborhood surrounded by trees and wildlife.

The space
This is a one bedroom, one bathroom cabin with lots of outdoor access and a lovely private patio. The cabin is a remodeled stable, part of the 100 year old homestead. Smiley's cabin is one building on the property, situated between a few other log buildings including a barn, larger cabin, and small pumphouse. Guests and residents on the property share a driveway, but your cabin has a private parking space. There is a sunken living room with a fireplace and the book case is full of puzzles, games, books, and plenty of soft blankets. The kitchen is equipped and stocked with the essentials, and there's a lovely and well-lit dining/work area for two. The bed in the bedroom is comfy! There's closet space, a reading light, and Roku TV! Seated on the patio, you can take in the hills and trees. Unwind, enjoy the firepit, try to feed the deer (they like carrots!) We love this cabin, and we hope spending time there you'll be able to tell.

The driveway is shared, but your parking space is the closest one to the steps up to the cabin.. If you plan on arriving with trailers/motorcycles/multiple vehicles let us know ahead of time and we can figure out the best parking arrangements for you and your stuff!
Although there are other guests and residents living on the property and you may encounter them or their pets, Smiley's cabin is it's own unit. Feel free to explore the area and say hi!

Other things to note
The cabin is a remodeled stable, part of the 100 year old homestead. We have made many improvements over the years, but please be advised that the bathroom is ..small. We have received feedback about the toilet area being a bit narrow. Persons of certain dimensions may not be comfortable while seated... Hate to get too particular but wouldn't want our guests to be unpleasantly surprised.
The driveway is gravel. Roads in this area as well as the driveway can get a little gnarly in winter weather, but shouldn't be a problem.
Remember that Smiley's is a cabin, part of a larger work in progress.. expect a few quirks!

A beautiful short ~1/2 mile gravel road will take you from the main Mt. Rushmore Road to a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature.

The A frame has 3 floors. The Upper floor has one King bedroom, a tub shower, as well as laundry.

The Main floor has a King bedroom, a walk-in shower, a powder room, a living/dining room, and a kitchenette. Please note that there is no oven, no standard size range/stove, or a dishwasher. The kitchenette does, however, have a large countertop double convection oven, a toaster, a full size fridge, a drip coffee maker, and a double induction countertop cooktop. Non-stick induction pots and pans and dinnerware are supplied.

The Lower floor has 1 King bedroom, and 2 Bunk bedrooms (4 twin beds in total), as well as a living space and an office area.
