This regenerating area of Christchurch is close to everything. The Old Baker's Cottage
Located near trendy 'The Colombo' shopping mall in Sydenham, this cute cottage, built around 1918, makes for an excellent centrally located place to stay in Christchurch. With a double and a single bedroom it is a great place for a couple or three people
The property is fully fenced; sunny and warm with an enclosed backyard. If any fruits and vegetables are ready for harvesting, feel free to pick some and use them in your cooking.
The cottage has recently had a make-over. New carpet was laid in both bedrooms and living area with new thermo-coated curtains covering the windows. All walls were painted and a new shower cubicle and toilet were installed in the bathroom. All add to a fresh and clean environment where it is a pleasure to stay. The cottage is fully furnished, cosy, rustic, and TV-free. Wi-Fi has been connected though. The heat-pump warms the whole house. All linen is provided.
The inner city of Christchurch, the Botanical Garden, Museums and Art Galleries (3km away) can be reached easily. Busses depart only 50 m away from the front door, on Colombo Street, the main road which runs through the city centre. A supermarket, a number of fast food outlets and public parks (one with playground) can be found within easy walking distance of the cottage.
Christchurch calls itself the 'Garden City' and looks pretty at any time of the year. A walk along the close by Heathcote River is a delight at any time of the year.
Christchurch is renowned across the country for its stunning mountain bike trails. The cottage is located near the more extreme tracks on the Port Hills and in Victoria Park. These areas also boost many walking tracks. The Christchurch Adventure Park is only a few km away. There's outdoor adventure to suit every level.

Entwhistle Cottage has been rebuilt with the same compact proportions of the original working man's cottage but reworked to make the most of the space and light. The kitchen, dining, living are all open plan looking out to the sunny courtyard. The small bathroom is lovely with black and white tiles and some vintage touches. The whole cottage is tastefully furnished with character and kiwiana touches.

We are happy to cater for families with two singles in the second bedroom(that can be made into a king). The sofa can also be made into bed for a third child/extra guest.We also have a toy box, a fenced courtyard and a small park right opposite. Entwhistle Cottage would also be the perfect, romantic spot for a honeymoon stay.

We have free WI-FI and are also able to offer free-range eggs from our own hens when available. There is also tea, coffee and sugar. Parking is free on the street outside the cottage.

This warm, self contained cottage is bathed in morning sun and coffee on the deck is perfect. Built in 2017 this 116 sq meter cottage is well insulated with double glazing and a heat pump. Its 5 minutes to the airport and also on the bus route to a local mall, Canterbury University & the city. It was built for disability access and has ramps front and back an extra large shower to suit a shower chair if required. Dog friendly with conditions, definitely family & LGBTI+ friendly and kids are welcome. It is in a quiet position at the rear of our property which means we are close by to help out if needed.

Chris and Catherine are excellent hosts and look forward to you enjoying your stay with us. For short stay guests, breakfast and tea coffee, milk etc. will be provided. On street parking is available. The space
Welcome to Willowtree Cottage, where you can unwind in comfort while enjoying the sweet sounds of birdsong. Our luxurious master bedroom features a plush king-size bed adorned with premium Wallace Cotton linen, ensuring a restful slumber. For your convenience, both bedside tables are equipped with phone chargers.

Bedroom Two is perfect for younger guests, ( or a single adult), featuring a cosy king single bed, a selection of books, and a variety of toys to keep them entertained. You'll also find puzzles stored in the chocolate ottoman.

We take pride in providing a fully functional and well-equipped kitchen, complete with a fridge/freezer, microwave, electric oven, and dishwasher. Should you need to do laundry during your stay, the washing machine and washing liquid are located in a bathroom cupboard.

To ensure your comfort, we have installed a wall-mounted heat pump/aircon unit in the main living room, and ample storage is available to keep your living space tidy.

Our interior is tastefully decorated to a high standard, featuring beautiful artwork and a selection of books for you to peruse. As a special treat, we offer complimentary snacks and drinks upon your arrival because we understand the importance of a good snack and refreshing beverage after a long journey.

We also provide a variety of tea and coffee options, and we're happy to accommodate all milk preferences, including oat and almond milk. Simply let us know your preference before your arrival, and we'll have it waiting for you in the fridge.

Other things to note
There are a few important things to keep in mind. Firstly, it is possible for travel delays and cancellations to occur due to sickness, bereavement, injury or weather. To ensure you are protected, it is always recommended to purchase Travel Insurance when travelling domestically or internationally.

Secondly, during the Summer months, pets are welcome, but please let us know ahead of time if you plan on bringing your furry friend so we can ensure their safety around our livestock.

Lastly, we have a few guidelines for pets on the property. While we love our animals, we ask that your pet stays on the floor and refrains from jumping on furniture or sleeping in the bed with you.

It's important to note that we have three dogs and three cats that also call this Blackwood House home.
