Kerikeri is situated in the beautiful Northland, only 3½ h from Auckland, only 20 minutes to Paihia and 2½ h to Cape Reinga.

You can find us just outside of Kerikeri. If you come from Auckland/Paihia follow SH10 north. On the first round about continue 1.4 km further north (direction Kaitaia) on SH10.

The Kauri post cottage is tucked away from the road, very close to Kerikeri, Waipapa, and the highway north. A warm quiet space, with shaded outside areas to relax. The cottage has one bedroom with a queen bed. The lounge also has a sofa bed and an extra mattress. The bathroom is all access with wide entry into the bedroom and the full kitchen is light & spacious. The fireplace or heaters make the cottage toasty in winter. Maximum 4 in the cottage. Children all ages welcome.

The property is on 2 1/2 acres and the River is on our property. No river views from the Cottage. All children must be accompanied by an adult when viewing the river. Great spot for picnics or relaxing. No swimming in the River, our eels are huge :) We also provide a Nespresso Coffee Machine, salt, pepper, oil, Milk, tea, coffee and sugar.

We really enjoyed our stay. Nice space for those with smaller kids as it’s all fenced off and has a cute pond nearby. Only thing I’d add is more dining chairs as there’s only 4 and we were a family of 6 so couldn’t really sit together and didn’t want to use the couches as they are white. Even though we are in a rural setting, you will still find lots to see and do, with just minutes away from The Parrot Place, the famous historic Kerkeri Stone Store, cafes, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, beauticians, beautiful bushwalks, waterfalls, galleries and much more.

Our cute and cosy eco-cottage sleeps three. Only minutes from Kerikeri and Rainbow Falls. The cottage is solar powered with a deck for relaxing overlooking trees to a running river. It’s comfortable and well equipped. Listen out for our resident kiwi

The space
The cottage is private and has it's own entrance. Set on 5 acres of bush and gardens it is peaceful and relaxing. Although we are right next door if you need anything. The cottage is well set up for two people but, can be stretched to three by utilizing the pullout sofa. We provide all the basics for a relaxed stay, a three burner cooker and everything you need to cook yourself a nice meal to enjoy with your loved ones. The facilities are simple and rustic but comfortable.
The fire keeps the cottage warm on the coldest nights and in summer there is nothing like relaxing on the deck with a cold glass of your favourite drink. The outdoor bath on the deck is big enough for two. it feels like a tree house.
We are a family friendly environment and can provide a portacot and linen if required. You are welcome to explore our property.
Our property is off the grid fully solar powered.
We have recently had to install a security gate on the driveway so if you arrive between 9pm and 7am you will have to unlock it with a code provided before arrival.
Surrounded by mature totara trees we are sure you will love our cottage. And if you are lucky you might hear our resident kiwi at night.

The cottage is private and just for you. Although our house is 20mtrs away if you need anything. You are welcome to explore our property and use the trampoline.

Other things to note
Unfortunately our neighbours have a lot of junk (one man's trash is another mans treasure) so our driveway can be a bit overwhelming. This is something that is not in our powers to change. But when you make it to us you will be rewarded with a beautiful oasis.

A wide covered veranda makes a great place for relaxing with a cup of tea or coffee and enjoying the beautiful garden.
The park like setting features large veggie patches, fruit trees, chickens and lots of places to chill out under the trees and enjoy the bird life.
There is free WI-FI, TV, DVD player and Chrome cast. USB outlets by the bed and in the kitchen.
Within the cottage is a washing machine for guests.
Cooking utensils including knives, chopping boards, mini oven, induction hobs and a microwave are provided to make it easy to prepare a quick meal.
Guests are asked to avoid cooking highly spiced/pungent foods inside.
An outdoor kitchen with a BBQ is provided on the veranda for cooking el fresco.
Note: Due to water and sewage limitations the cottage can only handle 2 adults at a time.

The cottage is separate from the main house with it's own driveway entrance making for a very private space. The key is available in the door making check in super easy and con tactless.

There is a comfy super king sized bed which can be split into 2 single if required. (Please let us know if you require the singles at the time of booking.)
The cottage is not suitable for children over 2 years (a travel cot is available for smaller babies) and can only accommodate 2 adults at a time. (We are on tank water which is filtered with an 11 micron filter).
There is also parking available for large vehicles e.g. boat, motor home, trailer etc.
There is a small fridge, mini oven, in induction hob, microwave and utensils in the kitchen. A A guest BBQ is available on the deck in the outdoor kitchen.

The space
Wairere Cottage is very spacious (Now over 70m2- recently extended in May 2025). Bright, open plan, huge living area and has a 'Scandi' modern vibe. Comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean with lots of room to spread out and relax. Fenced and private.


The living area has three distinct 'zones' - dining, huge lounge and separate sofa bed area. Allowing friends or families with four guests to be easily and comfortably accommodated without sacrificing lounge space when setting up the sofa bed. The queen sized sofa bed is super comfy with extra foam topper. There's also an airbed if guests need separate beds.

The full bathroom is bright with a large bath and great water pressure in the shower (over the bath). Essential quality Eco-friendly toiletries are provided including shampoo and shower gel. Towels. Hairdryer. Beach towels in the wardrobe.

In the separate bedroom with patio doors onto a covered deck you'll find your super comfy king bed and quality Wallace Cotton linens. Blackout curtains. Chest of drawers. There’s hanging space in the main living area storage closet.

In the living area there's a decent sized Smart TV with free Netflix and free super fast WIFI. 5KW air-conditioning for heating and cooling.

The kitchen is equipped with a Brabantia convection bench top cooking, microwave, large air fryer, plus Weber BBQ outside. Pots, pans, bowls and platters, wine glasses, champagne flutes; everything you should need for an enjoyable stay. We include complimentary breakfast items such as muesli, milk, and fresh ground coffee to get you started when you arrive.

There's an iron, airing rack, board games & a ton of books, magazines. Extra bedding & beach towels in the living room storage.

Outside on the rear deck overlooking a private paddock area with citrus trees there’s a Weber BBQ. Lovely tropical planting surrounding the cottage. Enjoy listening to the morning and evening birdsong; The resident quails will likely visit too. The night skies are frequently pretty amazing, and if Thom has his telescope out in his observatory you're welcome to take a look!

Many guests have abandoned some sightseeing plans in favour of just kicking back and enjoying the space.

The spacious accommodation is perfect for a special get-away, romantic retreat, or peaceful sanctuary for business travellers. Coffee, tea and home baked cookies included. Longer stays are available — there’s plenty to do exploring the Bay of Islands and sub-tropical Far North. Open again recently after being closed for private use.

The space
The Cottage is fully self-contained with a spacious bedroom, separate sitting-room, kitchen/dining room and ensuite bathroom. Thoughtfully furnished and appointed the spaces are unique and guests love the luxurious Queen bed with pure cotton sheets. The sitting room, kitchen/dining room and bedroom open out to a private verandah with outdoor table for dining alfresco. Enjoy lovely views of the garden, country-side, native bird-life and our horses grazing in the paddocks.

The kitchen/dining room is equipped with microwave oven, toaster, kettle and fridge and there is also a gas BBQ with a side-burner under the verandah. Other features include free WiFi, smart TV and eco-friendly toiletries and we use eco-friendly cleaning products and carefully recycle and compost.

Keyless entry with keypad. There is parking right at the door and access to the cottage is level.

Our tastefully decorated two-bedroom cottage is just 2 minutes from a boat ramp and a 4-minute drive from Kerikeri township. Nearby, you'll find cafes, restaurants, shops, beautiful bush walks, waterfalls, and galleries. We offer plenty of off-street parking for boats too. Relax on the deck while enjoying a glass of bubbles as the sun sets, while the kids jump on the trampoline or run around.

The space
Relax in this beautifully newly decorated 2-bedroom cottage, nestled in a serene and private setting. The cottage features lovely flat grounds on a spacious 1/3-acre section, complete with a tranquil view of orange trees and open spaces.

This is the perfect getaway for recharging your batteries, whether you are visiting family, enjoying a couple's retreat, embarking on a fishing trip with friends, planning a girls' getaway, or working in the area. Treat yourself to a lovely place to return to at the end of each day!

The cottage stays warm in winter and cool in summer thanks to an air conditioning heat pump. Enjoy the sun-soaked deck while sipping a glass of wine as the BBQ heats up, or relax with a good book while listening to the abundant birdlife. Children can play freely, kicking a ball or jumping on the trampoline.

We are located in the rural area of the beautiful Bay of Islands town of Kerikeri, just 5 minutes from cafes, restaurants, shops, scenic bush walks, waterfalls, and galleries. A bonus for fishing enthusiasts: we are only 2 minutes from a great boat ramp. The cottage also includes a filleting table, perfect for preparing your catch!

Quiet and comfortable accommodation. Easy-going hosts are available at your convenience. We live on the property but you still have your own privacy. Absolutely awesome place to relax and enjoy.

Cooking with strong odours is prohibited in our cottage at all times, we have a BBq outside when cooking with any strong odours, garlic etc.

The cottage was so close to Liddington Gardens (The wedding Venue) in the most peaceful and private setting. The hosts were so kind and inviting, they even had crackers, dip, and milk, there were just so many little things, very thoughtful. Could not rate it highly enough.

This beautiful and newly renovated cottage nestled right in the gardens, is a perfect little spot for a getaway!

Located a mere 4km from the heart of the town, this slice of Eden features hardwood floors, a brand new and private deck with furnishings, French doors, and a stunning garden view.

Within a 5 minute walk are two of NZs oldest buildings; the Stone Store and Kemp House. Another iconic nature spot is the Rainbow Falls walking track along the river.

The space
This space is a single bedroom cottage fit for a maximum of 2 people with. It sports a small kitchen and separate bathroom, with French doors that open directly onto a small private outdoor space.

Peaceful, well equipped cottage on the edge of native bush. Accommodation includes open plan living and dining area, kitchen, laundry, 2 bathrooms and a spacious upper floor master bedroom with views over your own private garden. Your host Linda is a ceramic artist/printmaker and guests are welcome to visit her nearby studio. A short walk away is Rangitane beach/boat ramp and Opito Bay yacht club is also nearby. Table tennis & mini golf are available on site. Airport pickup/drop-off available.

The space
The Cottage only has one double bedroom, suitable for two Adults. There is a bathroom/shower downstairs and an ensuite upstairs. There are no separate sleeping facilities. Situated in a Kiwi conservation zone, you are likely to hear Kiwi at night. Abundant native bird life most of the year includes tui's, white throated heron, banded rails, spoonbills, silver eye's, native pigeon and fantails. Excellent birdwatching potential and walking opportunities.

Guest access
There is a private garden for guests with short walking tracks through our native bush down to the Kerikeri inlet. During the wet season the waterfall is quite spectacular.

We have a Type 2 fast EV Charger point available. This facility is a 32Amp charger, please make sure of your vehicles requirements before using the facility. 48Amp settings will cause the charger to malfunction. We do not accept children or infants there is accommodation for two Adults only

The space
The holiday home is in immaculate condition with modern comforts, but full of character and charm. All year round comfort is assured with log fire, heat pump and air-conditioning. There is plenty of space to park a boat and trailer, and easy access to public launching ramps around the bay.

We are centrally located to enjoy the wider Bay of Islands. Situated ten minutes north of Kerikeri, we are 35 minutes from Paihia and Russell to the South, and 35 minutes from Coopers Beach and Mangonui in the North. And there are many more interesting places to visit in between.

Following our move to New Zealand from the UK, we built a house for family and friends to visit so they could enjoy their own space & privacy. The initial rush is over, and we thought it would fun to welcome new visitors who could relax in our special holiday home.

Dragonfly Barn holiday accommodation in Kerikeri set in 10 acres. NO TRADES PEOPLE - The main barn 2 x Bedrooms sleeps up to 4 guests . A SMALLER UNIT for 2 more guests & bathroom is EXTRA COST $75 per guest per night. Book 6 for whole place. Decorated to a very high standard, fully furnished, polished concrete floors, fully fitted kitchen, wood burner, Bathroom showers, heated towel rails, toilets, basins. All fully insulated, double glazed, wrap around veranda, outside seating, parking area.

You will find on arrival a lock box, lighting if you arrive in the dark. All beds are King size including all 4 singles, for added outside enjoyment a BBQ is provided, along with dining / seating , enjoy a drink while sat outside listening to the Kiwis down in the bush, you can also access a small walking track down into the bush, we are set in 10 acres with stunning views yet so close to all local amenities.
Please be aware we have a very large pond on site
Please respect the privacy of this beautiful area and we ask for no drone usage / flying while staying with us.

Guest access
Dragonfly Barn main dwelling caters for up to 4 guests in the main barn at the nightly rate - you have the main barn with all its facilities at this nightly rate.
We can also cater for 2 more guests by using the smaller unit at the side , this has its own bathroom too, THIS SMALLER UNIT IS AN ADDED COST OF $75 PER GUEST PER NIGHT WHEN BOOKING. You need to book for 5 or 6 guests to get this extra unit & beds are allocated to 5th or 6th guests . Can be booked for business colleagues if each guests would like their own bedroom - just ask Tracey on an enquiry

We have available if needed , some Safety Rails for young children that can easily be fitted under the mattresses - also a High Chair & Travel Cot
please just ask on your booking / arrival if you need them.

Also we would like to reassure our guests we are taking extra steps with our cleaning & sanitizing at Dragonfly Barn after each booking - We will carry on with blocking out extra times in between each stay to not only cater for our extra work but to have the place empty for a while in between guests.
