Motupipi sits on a private peninsula consisting of 20 hectares of native bush with beachfront access. Accommodation consists of a fully self-contained two bedroom cottage which has spectacular views from the deck, which is only 50 metres from the shoreline. The property includes a 1.2 kilometre bush walk which is fabulous for viewing native flora and birdlife. At night, sit on the deck and listen to the morepork and kiwi calling.

There is a nice new conservatory so your dog can sleep inside safe and secure. We are happy to baby sit (only dogs, not children!) if you would like to go out for the day sailing or fishing in the bay of Islands, and can't take the dog.

Property has mature Puriri, Pohutukawa, Olive and pepper tree (a member of the cashew family that produces pink peppercorns). Children are welcome provided you understand there is water very close to the house (not fenced) and the lush tropical grounds contain many volcanic rocks and plants with prickles/thorns. Therefore children are fine provided they are under continuous supervision outside. Also the Lanai has a 700mm (two foot) drop to the adjacent garden beds. An exit clean is included in the rental price but there is no daily cleaning.

Property is OK for children aged 5+. Younger children must be supervised at all times outside as half the property is close to water with numerous access points andamp; is not fenced. Also the landscaping which is tropical has numerous spikes/thorney species/roses. The property is suitable for small weddings/anniversaries but as we are a quiet rural setting with neighbours 100 metres away on either side, outdoor noise must abate by 10pm.

- "My husband and I stayed in Kerikeri for three nights, two of which were accompanied by my cousins family of four. We made use of the main residence and cottage (which was great for the teenagers). I can’t say enough about this home - it is by far the best home we’ve ever stayed in. The views of the water are spectacular, and it’s incredible to have beach access so close to the residence. One of our most memorable experiences in New Zealand will be waking up to have breakfast with the neighboring sheep. Denis (the host) was gracious enough to provide a tour upon our arrival. He encouraged us to use the vegetable garden and all the amenities (dock, beach, speakers, etc). We used herbs and lettuce which tasted fabulous. Nothing in this home is done by accident - the quality is superior. The beds are firm, the decor is beautiful, and the bathrooms are very comfortable. We cooked every night and were impressed by the sharp knives, kitchen utensils, serving platters and accessories. I would highly recommend this home. My husband and I will absolutely be returning to this residence for a longer stay next time we are in New Zealand."

Totara Falls studio is a beautifully appointed property situated within the sub tropical grounds of Totara Falls Estate in the Bay of Islands and close to the lovely town of Kerikeri, local beaches, wineries, and attractions. Michelle was just absolutely amazing (she had even brought me some chocolates on arrival after finding out about my dog, so sweet!!), she was so lovely, warm, kind and welcoming. The accommodation is so clean and tidy, the bed is super comfortable, and it has everything you need. 10/10 - I can't fault anything, the windows also had an insect screen. Which was so great as I'm not great with bugs or mosquitoes. I went further up North after my stay here and tried rebooking here again before heading back to Auckland but it was all booked out. A cosy well-protected property down a cul-de-sac beside the sea in a quiet neighbourhood, Stonelea is a 2 storey wooden cottage nestled in a beautiful rock garden.
On the north side is a large covered (and shaded) outdoor living area with a Weber BBQ, great for entertaining.
The upstairs verandah is ideal for enjoying a tipple after a lovely day exploring. There's the Hauparua Inlet by kayak, or walking the country roads around here, or maybe you've been for a drive to one of the many attractions around the Bay of Islands...

On the east side is the perfect sunny morning spot for coffee and croissants.
There's a small well-appointed kitchen for foodies.
The dawn chorus is subtle and beautiful, without roosters! The bird life is always entertaining, with many tui, quail, blackbird and thrush.

Comfortable living spaces and beds, everything you need in the kitchen, and even the necessary electric bug zapper outside - a necessity. We never turned the TV on. Great little harbour beach a 5km hilly walk away (or 5 minutes in the car if you don't want to earn your swim) and concrete boat ramp only a couple of km around the road. Take care if you are towing a bigger boat (6m+), the turn in off the driveway is very tight.... you'll need some skills to back out again too. Nervous trailer backers be warned :-) Finally, the piece de resistance. On the final night we heard a male kiwi calling close by, and female responding. Awesome!"

The public boat ramp is just 200m down the road. It's suitable for trailer boats up to about 6m, from mid tide. Smaller boats can launch anytime except dead low. Deeper ramps are nearby at Doves Bay and Opito Bay.

Rangitane is a high kiwi population area, you'll likely hear the kiwi calling at night, occasionally you'll spot one roaming the grassy areas looking for food.

Beluga is a modern, two-bedroom self contained apartment attached to our home but fully separate with private entrance and parking. The apartment has recently been completely renovated and offers a very high standard of accommodation, including two double bedrooms, a comfortable lounge, roomy kitchen/dining area and modern bathroom with walk-in shower. Dishwasher and washing machine are provided. A large private deck overlooks our mature garden, and there is ample off-road space to park a boat/trailer and wash it down.
Swing on the day bed or enjoy the fire in the evening.

24/7 Laundry mat in Kerikeri. (Washing Machine in house. Dryer on deck). Deck is shared mostly by the dogs looking for cuddles, and has gym equipment. Don't feed the dogs please. They're both on diets. Dogs must stay outside

My dogs live onsite, hence guests are required gates are to be shut at all times, they don't live in your house, they stay in my studio

It is fenced, approx 150 metres off the main road, unfenced hidden swamp.

Springbank: Local international college is popular approx. Sailing Schools etc.

Springbank School is 6km down the road. This is Rural NZ you will need a vehicle, there are few footpaths.

Semi tropical status. There are an approx 5 frosts a year, but you must be up early to see it to believe it. Rain however is boisterous and unrepentant. All things on deck are placed to stay out of the rain, do not leave awnings up, or leave any thing moved from its current position.

I have a 6 chair dinning table indoors and another four chair table on the deck - you can suit yourself where you sit, just take care its under shelter and won't get wet, things leak when we have downpours (Monsoon size rains), so please be careful with the upholstered furniture outside and don't get it wet.

Heat Pump no extra, unless doors left open. Then the mosquitoes will also come in. Moths. They get sucked into the aircon vents. Please shut the doors. I clean airconfilters between guests.

Please close windows and lock doors when you leave the property. High burglary rates. Lock your cars in Northland. Tourism attracts opportunists.

Some gym equipment on the deck, weight machine, exercise bike, badminton set is in the cupboard on the deck by the bike. Swiss ball is on the deck, the exercise is a lil rusted as its outside.

It is all out of the rain, so don't move it. Pegs in a wee bucket in the same cupboard on the deck next to the dryer.

Meander just under 5000m2 of park like grounds, I have planted trees both natives and fruit trees: Kauri, Totara, Pohutakawa, and Tariere, as well as white, red and yellow Kowai, 6 of each to start with, alas most got knocked out from either droughts, some are finally fruitful.

I do the lawns fortnightly, depending on the weather. For short stay guests, I try to tend to them before hand so other than meeting you if you choose, you're pretty much on your own. Except for the dogs, born early 2023. Phone me if you need me to sort dogs, or help you with anything

I thank you for choosing my home. The house is quiet, well insulated, and the grounds are wonderful, I'm in a self contained apartment adjoining the house (duplex), no internal access, your space is your space.

Footpath: I had a stroke at age 46, many many rehab projects later, and I built footpath out of kitchen bench seconds. So it isn't thick, but pretty, and obviously can Crack under a heavy tyre/car or ite, truck. You get it.

Food:
Best curry is 15 minutes North of me, and it's called The Spice Grill. Licensed. Dine in or phone a take out order before you leave, my favourite: onion bhaji, papadums, prawn Malabari, with cheese n garlic naan. Proprietor is Sabii, he's awesome. Say hello Sabi, it's like Cheers. Tell them your staying at Karen's

South East is Kerikeri: The Plough and Feather has my vote for best food in town, seconded by the Black Olive do a wonderful Asian beef salad, they also do pizzas, and fantastic ribs, pasta etc. Greens Thai... just a huge range for our international guests who winter over with their super yachts, and us

Jimmy Jack Ribs is a Rib Shack over in Paihia, no reservation required. Approx 25 minutes drive away. Sticky Ribs are finger foods, have at it with your fingers, wear white - challenge accepted? I can do it and still look clean. Go on.

The Sword Fish Club restaurant has an excellent view over the water, there are also restaurants on the wharf and Chinese and Japanese restaurants in the mall.

Bad Habits is another great brunch restaurant in Paihia. Steak house. Also very weird liquor in their bottle store which is part of the restaurant, also has butcher's block to buy top quality meat. You can meander once you've gotten a table. Fascinating place

Darryl's Dinner summer only cruise also does lunches in the height of summer, one word: Fantastic. Grab that from the launch wharf in Paihia if it's operational. Bookings essential.

Over in Russell we have the Duke of Marlborough two venues, same name, one is Fine Dining and the other is across the road for the public bar, both have restaurant service. The Fine Dining is just that, so fine, and the pub grub also has Ribs

The king sized bed in bedroom two can be split to make two single beds. Please note it is Super-king sized if bringing your own linen, and please inform us at the time of booking which configuration you require. The property is on a hill with a view, and though the driveway is steep, it is wide with a good concrete surface and has a turning bay at the entrance to the property.Guests should bring their own Nespresso compatible pods to make use of the available machine. Your guest suite is a short walk to the historical heritage Stone Store, Kemp House museum, Honey House cafe, two top-rated restaurants such as Maha Restaurant and the Plough & Feather Pub restaurant, & many beautiful lush green walkways to spectacular waterfalls! And, just 5min drive, you'll be in town for shopping at ‘New World’ or 'Woolsworth' supermarkets or numerous boutique shops.

The space
Your entire guest suite comprises of two private living spaces, namely the studio with the super single bed and the large double ensuite. There is a shared hallway that's been closed off for the peaceful enjoyment of our guests' private living spaces. Generous and easy parking is available at our private premises. Access to the private entrance is located on the left side of the house, where guests are required to walk up a deck of steps and up a gravel slope to the back of the house and garden. Guests are most welcome to forage the garden too. Guests kitchenette is equipped with a fridge, microwave oven, an electric kettle, a toaster and dining crockery. As we are living in a sub tropical climate, we do have insect netting windows for ventilation and ceiling smart vents to help with some air circulation. We do hope our guests will have a comfortable stay at Kerikeri.

Guest access
Guests will have to walk up a deck of steps and a gravel slope to your private entrance. Guests also have free access to the terraced-like garden located behind the house, which is also the common area where a clothes line can be used by guests. Guests are welcome to forage the green tropical garden for flowers, herbs and fruits too.

Your private guest suites has a shared hallway that leads to the main living area should guests need any assistance from us. If laundry is required to be done, we'll facilitate the washing at our private laundrette. As we do not have a dryer, we will provide a drying rack if the weather does not permit drying on the outdoor clothes line at the garden.

During your stay
Our guest's peaceful enjoyment in the privacy of both their own studio living room and comfy bedroom is the utmost aim for hosting our garden home.

Riverview Welcome offers spaciousness & quiet. The guest lounge leads out onto the patio where alfresco dining is an option.

Guests have their own bedrooms, bathroom & lounge. They are able to use the kitchen for hot & cool drink preparation, take away food plus microwave use. Guests have use to the dining area.

The guest wing is spacious, light and airy with its own separate entrance from the verandah.
In addition to the double bedroom there is a bathroom and separate toilet; also a compact kitchenette, kitted out for two, with toaster, jug,
microwave and small fridge.
You're very handy for a selection of vibrant cafes and restaurants, just a few minutes stroll away. There are lots of walks and it's very easy to find your way around town.
I will be happy to offer further directions if needed.

Cottage separate from main house sleeps 2. Kitchenette/living room, bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Minimum 2 night stay. Use of Solar heated family swimming pool (Nov-March) . 15 min walk / 5 min drive to Kerikeri centre. Quiet location close to attractions.

For a true Kerikeri experience, stay in my garden cabin surrounded by citrus trees. The cabin is rustic and comfortable: peaceful and yet also very close to town.

Food options are extremely convenient, with a café/bake house and also an Indian restaurant directly across the road. For more dining options – as well as a supermarket – central Kerikeri is a pleasant 850m stroll away. And at weekends, The Old Packhouse Market is just a few minutes’ walk.

The space
A shared garage area separates the cabin from my home. You will have your own sunny patio to enjoy, complete with outdoor seating and privacy screening. Parking is directly outside the cabin.

The cabin has its own private entrance, and inside you’ll find a double bed, table, chairs, TV, spare blankets, a heater, hairdryer, and the Wifi password. Linen (towels and bedding) is included in your stay.

There’s a covered walkway to the shared garage, which is just a few steps from your bedroom door, and it houses the shower, toilet, and kitchenette. The kitchenette has a kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, mugs, glasses, plates, and cutlery for your use. An outside BBQ is available too. If you don’t fancy cooking, there’s an abundance of dining options in central Kerikeri.

Please note that I use the garage area too, but will keep my use to a minimum while you’re staying in the cabin.

During your stay
I will welcome you upon arrival, if possible, and as much as I love meeting new people, I will respect your privacy if you prefer solitude.

If you need any help, or are looking for recommendations on what to see or do in the area, please come and knock at my door, and I will be more than happy to help you with recommendations. I have lived here since 2005.

Self-check-in is also available.

Other things to note
You’re welcome to pick the citrus fruit from my garden for your stay, when it’s in season. I grow oranges, lemons, limes, and mandarins. If you’d like to take some fruit home with you, it’s available for purchase from my Farm Shop.

Charging for electric vehicles is available for an additional fee of $10, and a separate powered site (caravan socket or 3-pin plug) for motorhomes and caravans (max. 8m) is available for an additional $25 a night. Unpowered $15.

For laundry, Orchard Motel is next door, and they have a coin-operated laundry that you are welcome to use.

There’s no cleaning fee; instead, I ask you to leave the cabin as you found it. Basic cleaning materials are supplied.

If you wish to clean your vehicle you are welcome to do so on the grass.

No pets and no smokers. Please note I have a friendly cat, Ruffy, on the premises that may come to greet you. And if you need secure storage for bicycles, golf clubs, etc., just ask.

Peaceful, sunny private bedroom with an adjacent dayroom, shower, basic cooking facilities and your own deck area. The view is stunning all year round and you’re just a minute’s drive to the village of Kerikeri, which is known for its markets, wineries, eateries and art trail. We enjoy several beautiful walking tracks, close by. Bring paints, sketch pad, journal. Your deck area features a view to the horizon - great sunrises. Our garden is home to our chickens and a variety of birds. Bring togs.

The space
This is a get-away gem, a ten-minute walk to town. Our house overlooks a valley and has a distant water view of the Kerikeri River and the Kerikeri Inlet. Our large garden is home to our chickens, doves, tui, a hawk, moreporks, pheasant and kereru (wood pigeons), many of whom roost in our very old and magnificent pohutukawa tree outside your studio space. The view from your private section of the deck stretches as far as Mount Pocock (Mataka) at the mouth of the Kerikeri Inlet. We are perched on a hill, which gives us a wonderful feeling of space with a gigantic sky and an amazing display of stars on cloudless nights. The sun rises over Mataka, with gorgeous sunrises and is with us most of the day. We are eco aware and committed to doing what we can to be sustainable. Our two dogs and cat are friendly.

Guest access
You have a private separate entrance leading onto your deck. You make friends with our chickens, who like to sit on the stairs in the morning sunlight and who roost in the old pohutukawa tree nearby.

During your stay
We have lived in Kerikeri for more than 30 years and can point you to lovely things to do in the area. We love meeting people but, on the other hand, if you like solitude, we'll happily leave you in peace. On a rainy day, you may enjoy browsing through our bookshelves.

Other things to note
We have free Wifi. No TV but there's much to watch on the net. There's a shower, basin and toilet attached to your dayroom/studio for your exclusive use.
There's a ceramic sink for your dishes on the deck, just outside your dayroom.
Some paint marks remaining from the days when your dayroom was my working studio add a touch of character - that's how we hope you'll see them.
My paintings are dotted around the house. You're welcome to view them.

This self contained guest suit has a seperate private entrance and a patio to sit and enjoy the peaceful garden setting. No one will be sharing your space. It has a bathroom but not a full kitchen. There is a fridge, hot water jug, , toaster, microwave crockery and cutlery for preparing breakfasts and simple meals.
We are located in Kerikeri, close to The Stone Store , Plough and Feather Pub and Honey House café all within walking distance, with beautiful water views.

The space
The space is self contained with its own entrance, with a pretty patio area where guests can sit and enjoy the tranquil garden.

As stated earlier there is an en suite bathroom but no kitchen or stove for cooking, but guests find it very suitable for breakfasts and simple meals. There is a small table and chairs to sit at. There are lots of lovely cafes and places to eat nearby.

The room is situated on a lower level to the main house, The guests have the option to be private and self contained or wander around the garden. There is a patio with a table and chairs sit outside and admire the pretty garden. Guests do not have acess to the main house or laundry facilities. There are several good laundrys near by.
This space is unsuitable for small children, due to proximity of the stream outsise etc.

(There is a table and chairs to sit at to enjoy breakfast in your room, or you could sit outside, weather permitting).

Other things to note
We no longer have cats. We do have a friendly dog , who is well restrained and you will not meet unless you want to!! The dog is fenced off from the guest area. The price is for room only, with a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. It is suitable for making simple breakfasts or heating food, not for cooking as there is no kitchen. We are not able to provide breakfast, but there are many great cafes near by.

The cottage is situated 8-10 minutes drive from Kerikeri township, and 4-5 minutes to the nearest shopping centre, Waipapa.

A lovely room with french doors opening onto a balcony where you can relax and enjoy the views of our private native bush and the countryside. Taketake a bush walk any time and enjoy the inspiring stands of puriri and totarara in particular, or go late at night to see the glowworms and maybe kiwi (we have a red torch you can use for this). Lovely bathroom with shower, 2 toilets and 3 handbasins, shared with room next door.

The space
Relax on the deck esp lovely in late afternoon and simply chill out, tour the extensive grounds and native bush, or take a dip in the pool...
