We think Waihi Beach is one of New Zealand’s top holiday destinations. As it is one of the safest swimming beaches around, it is a very popular destination for families.
All you need to do is walk 70m to the closest beach access and you will find your own spot on the widest part of Waihi Beach, where 2 Mile Creek joins the sea. No need to worry about scrambling down the rock wall or having limited sand at high tide. The creek is certainly another fun place for the kids to play.

Only 3 minutes walk (350m) from beautiful Waihi Beach and super close to the Waihi Beach Surf Club for flagged and patrolled swimming areas. It is about 45 mins walk (mid to steep in parts) one way.

Tui's Retreat easily accommodates 2 families if the kids are happy to all sleep in the bunk room. With 3 spacious bedrooms, two of which are double bedrooms with Queen Beds, plus one extra large bedroom with 2 sets of King Single bunks (sleeping 4 in that room), there is plenty of room. A seperate toilet makes life a bit easier, and the bathroom has a shower over bath.

Kitchen is equiped with microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher and gas-top electric oven with range hood. Fully air-conditioned and heated for comfort in both summer and winter.

- "We thoroughly enjoyed our family Easter weekend at this great Waihi Beach holiday home. We were 7 adults, a 4 year old and a 1 year old and there was plenty of room for everyone. Great master bedroom with a walk in wardrobe and ensuite that the couple with the little one enjoyed (we will probably fight over who has this room next time we stay) and we particularly loved the spa pool. Spacious living areas with a butlers pantry and separate drinks fridge to store all of our food. The location is 2 blocks back from the beach - a short walk down every day - and we also walked to the markets just next to town on the Sunday. It is also next door to the local primary school so very handy to a playground for the kids. Great communication with Rochelle also. Highly recommend."

There are also mineral hot pools nearby at both Athenree Holiday Park and Sapphire Springs in Katikati (if you go to Sapphire Springs take the nearby walk to the southernmost giant Kauri in NZ, a short 30 min round trip through beautiful NZ bush). I do not control the heater, if it is cold on the day you arrive I will turn it on. Apart from that you will have to control the warmth of the room. I do not provide shampoo and conditioner, I do provide liquid soap. I do not expect you to wash the dishes. You can let me know if you need dirty dishes removed and replaced with clean dishes. You must also let me know if you require more towels. Remember this is a air b&b not a hotel room. Thank you Dita.

The space
Located so centrally you can park the car and walk.

Across the road from the popular Sunday Markets held at Wilson Park (Labour weekend until Easter). Short 15 minute stroll to Saturday Farmers Markets (Oct - Apr).

1970s holiday home for a relaxing beach holiday. The main lounge (with smart TV), dining and kitchen area are north east facing and have a warm sunny aspect. A hallway separates these from the 2 upstairs bedrooms with queen beds and wardrobes. Ceiling fans, wall fan, wall and portable heaters are upstairs for your comfort.

Shower has great water pressure, gas hot water. One bathroom, toilet is separate. Some of the lights are a bit quirky and the carpet a bit worn as it is a 1970s property.

Downstairs there is a separate laundry with extra fridge/freezer, rumpus/bedroom with 2 bunks beds (double/single combo), table tennis table, and sofa with second smart TV. Portable heater and fans.

From here there is access to the large backyard and washing line.

Other things to note
The water may also need to be turned on, you will know once you are in the bach. If so, you need to turn a black lever which is located in the corner garden opposite the ramp. Just follow the pavers to the end and you will see the black lever.

Please leave the BBQ clean, the cleaning of the BBQ is not included in the cleaning fee. An extra cleaning fee will be charged if BBQ is not cleaned.

All the rubbish is now upgraded to Council bins
