We are 8 mins walk from the passenger ferry from Paihia which links in with Auckland buses or shuttles to the Bay of Islands airport. If you come by car we are 10mins drive from the Opua vehicle ferry.

We do advise you to keep very small children off the wooden part of our deck . A barrier can be put up on your request to keep toddlers safe.

Access is flat with heaps of space for cars and boat trailers.
Concrete launching ramp (suitable 2 hours each side of high tide) is OK for boats up to 6m and there is a fish bench. There is a gas califont outdoor shower that guests are encouraged to use after water activities.
All tide boat launching available at Te Uenga about 5km away.
No boat? Some guests fish from the complimentary kayaks or at low tide walk out to fish from Clendon Cove rocks.

Swimming is fun in the stream at high tide and there is shallow swimming from the beach (a long walk to get deep water). Good swimming at Jills Beach within walking distance. It is about 15 minutes drive to Elliot Bay on the East Coast for sand and surf, and about 20 minutes to Long Beach over the hill from Russell township.

For the adventurous walk to the old Whangamumu Whaling station (2.5 hours return) or even to Cape Brett.

In Russell about 15 minutes away (17 km) are cafes, restaurants, tours (e.g. Hole in the Rock), fishing charters, museum, the oldest church in NZ, Pompallier Mission and Printery, oyster farms and vineyards. The local mini bus tour is highly recommended.

Further afield Paihia, Waitangi and Kerikeri offer history, shopping, wineries and golf.

Your hosts live in nearby house on the property and can assist with baby sitting and meeting your needs.

Walking distance to all the restaurants, beaches and the ferry. Communications with hosts was very good. We loved it so much we didn't want to leave and we will surely be back!!! We were close to all the places we wanted to visit and enjoyed the beaches only minutes away.
