- "Loved my stay here. Everything was beautiful and clean. I'd definitely book again." - "We were lucky Emily had a few days available when we had to adjust our travel plans last minute following Hurricane Gabrielle. This is a nicely decorated and comfortable getaway. It's quite spacious compared to most tiny homes, with no ladders to climb. The bed is comfortable, the shower flow is great and we appreciated the kitchenette and the storage space. The neighbourhood is quiet and full of well-cared-for homes. Emily has even designated a convenient parking spot for visitors. There are no transit busses onto Herald Island, but we found we could take a short Uber ride to a cheap public transit ferry at Hobsonville Point, that takes you right to downtown Auckland. This is a quick and pleasant way to get to the city. If you are arriving at night, as we were, it's hard to see this dark building. It's to the right of the main house, on the road. Once you find the driveway with the street address on the fence, walk about 100 feet to your right along the road and you'll see the tiny home. The home can be warm in hot weather. Emily dropped off a fan when we mentioned it and we were able to keep the place comfortably cool by leaving the blinds down and the back windows open a crack during the daytime. This is a cute place at a great price in what can be an expensive city."

We are 6 minutes via car to Albany and 30 minutes to Auckland CBD. Riverhead Forrest is less than 10 minutes away, and Muriwai Beach is 30 minutes west.

Guests will enjoy private use of the downstairs floor which includes a lounge, bedroom, bathroom and walk in wardrobe. The outside lawn serves as a wonderful peaceful area to sit out and enjoy a morning coffee while watching the sunrise over Rangitoto Island.

There is currently no door that separates the downstairs and upstairs floors however you will have exclusive use of the downstairs with private access from outside during your stay.

***Due to the storms earlier this year there is some damage to the surrounding bush. The house is perfectly safe however there is a strap around the septic tank as a safety measure which crosses the path leading to the entry. Guests must take care when accessing the main entry, photos can be provided.***

- "We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here. The space was exactly as described, very spacious and cozy. The owners were kind and helpful, the TV was playing up and wouldn’t connect to the internet and they tried their best to get it working. The only things that need to be noted are that because the property has a septic tank the toilet struggles to flush properly and fills up really high with water before it goes back down and need a double flush, and when we first walked into the bathroom there was a very strong smell from the septic tank that came through the shower drain but went away after using the shower. Also the entrance to the bedroom (where you access the flat) and door handle had a lot of spiders and cobwebs which gave me the heebie jeebies haha but that’s not too bad just needs a wee clean up. Apart from that it was amazing, we had everything we needed and were so comfortable! Their doggie even came down to say hello and we got some good cuddles in which a bonus! Thank you so much!"
