This is a very comfortable, homely and spacious holiday home - with a great layout. The heat pump and Wood burner fire provides for a wonderful warm retreat after a day on the slopes, and the wetback means plently of hot water for everone. There is plenty of firewood to keep the whole house warm and cozy. Fantastic mountain views while you dine (inside or out), do your washing and go to the loo! No need to obtain a snow report - just look out the window.

The kitchen is fully equipped with slow cooker, toasted sandwhich maker, coffee plunger etc. There is also a drying room to dy off all the wet clothes and gear.

In the summer this house is a suntrap and positioned for all day sun (so keeps warm in the winter too). National Park is also a great place to chill out, relax and unwind for a few nights away. The local cafes and resturants are great too! Awesome family friendly pub only a few minutes walk around the corner.

There are are so many great activites to partake in - some of which include: hiking (Tongariro Crossing Great Walk and lots more), Mountain bike trails, 4 wheel drive trails (42nd Traverse), skiing, snowboarding, scenery and bird watching - Blue Ducks, Kokakos and Kiwis in the forests, rivers for kayaking (for the Whanganui River Great Walk and plenty of canoe hire available), swimming and fishing........

This is an old Mill House converted to a ski lodge on a quarter acre section with spectacular views of Mount Ruapehu.The ideal set up is great for 2 families for an Adventure on the Volcanic Plateau or a group wanting comfortable practical accommodation as a base 15 minutes from Whakapapa Ski Field, the start of 42 Traverse and Tongariro Crossing. This cosy bach has a Kent fire which quickly warms up the house and keeps you warm. The gas hot water means there is always a quick supply of hot water and the house now has a brand new bathroom with toilet , shower and vanity in the main bathroom and in second bathroom is a toilet and small vanity. This is all BRAND NEW. Plenty of dry firewood is stored in the attached workshed which is set up for ski/board tuning . A mud room and drying room complete the ideal set up for outdoor activities. Board games, darts and Sky TV with My Sky mean when the weather lets you down you can make your own entertainment or be entertained. The house in McKenzie St is a short stroll from the Railway Station, Cafes and Ski/Snowboard Rental Shops.

Traverse Cabin is a purpose built holiday home in National Park Village.
With super comfortable beds in all three double bedrooms (including 2x double beds with single bunk above), full insulation, double glazing and heat pump, the cabin is a very warm, dry and inviting home away from home after a great day skiing, tramping, cycling, fishing or whatever adventure you are returning from.

Being only 20 minutes from either one of the three highlights of the region: Whakapapa ski field; the world famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing; and one of New Zealand's top mountain bike tracks the 42nd Traverse, you will be able to return home, relax and still have time to sit back and enjoy views of Mt Ruapehu from the lounge and deck.

Should you require a shuttle service to your days activity, you will find the cabin is just a five minute walk to either the summer transfers to the Tongariro Crossing, and to the winter shuttles to the top of the ski field road.
Please note: there is a selection of board games, books and cards for our guests to enjoy. Also if a game is on, the local pub is a fun venue to watch the action and then stagger home! (it's only a 3 minute walk or 5 minute stagger).

Linen:
We supply pillows and covered duvets. With prior notice, we can also provide sheets and towels for our guests at an additional cost, of $20 per person.

Very sunny during the day, we loved it and the location to other amenities was awesome! We'd definitely pick this place again. The only slight negative I'd say was that there was everything we needed like blankets/electric blankets so therefore we wish we hadn't have felt the need to load our vehicle up with extra duvets etc when we didn't need to. The house is modern and well maintained. Inside you have a powerful heat pump that will heat the room in minutes, saving you the trouble of starting the fire on those cold days.

This lodge does not have bedding so you will have to bring your own sheets and blankets or sleeping bags.
There is no cleaner so please clean the lodge after your booking and dispose of rubbish and recycling yourself. There is a basic $25 fee as the property is checked after each visit. If the place is a mess a cleaning fee will apply.

A beautifully refurbished warm and cosy original Railway cottage in the quaint village of National Park, the Gateway to the Central Plateau area and the dual World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park.

This has been a family holiday home for thirty years, but now we want to share it with you, so you too, can enjoy the multitude of exciting adventures this stunning part of our country has to offer.

In the well-appointed beautifully sunny, north facing kitchen, you will find everything at your fingertips. We've purposely left out the draws and cupboards so you can see where everything is at a glance and there's a flash new stove with gas hobs.

The cosy, comfortable lounge area is open to the kitchen and dining area.

There are two bedrooms with queen beds and a large bunk room for the kids (2 pairs of bunk beds) which have been custom made, so plenty of head room for adults to sit and read. All the beds have electric blankets. There's heated towel rails in each of the bedrooms and a shower that NEVER runs out of hot water.

Duvets and pillows are provided. All other linen (including snuggly flannette sheets) is available on request and at an extra charge per person for the duration of your stay.

Lockable shed for your bikes and skis, plenty of off-street parking (4+ cars), attractive lawn and garden areas with a large lawn at the back of the house where children can play safely.

A two minute walk to the lovely Station Cafe. Other cafes and pubs are an easy walk. Walk the perimeter of the village in 25 minutes and enjoy the bright starry nights. Our skies are so clear here.

This has been a much loved family holiday home for many years, but now we wish to share it with you, so you too can enjoy the multitude of exciting activities and adventures this stunning part of our country has to offer.

The cosy, comfortable lounge and dining area is gets all day sunlight and has both a woodburner and a heatpump (with air conditioning). The Smart TV has Netflix and Chromecast etc, the Wifi is on fibre, and there's an arcade gaming machine that's loaded with over 1,000 games.

There are two bedrooms downstairs with brand-new double beds, and a large bedroom upstairs for the kids that sleeps 5.

Duvets and pillows are provided. All other linen (including snuggly flannette sheets) is available on request and at an extra charge per person for the duration of your stay.

During the summer our neighbour maintains the Chalet and is happy answer any questions.

Other things to note
As the Chalet has 3 units it maybe busy some nights but there are lots of amenities and space.

Please use the two tables provided and not take food or drinks into your room.

There is no local rubbish collection, however there is a transfer station on the other side of the railway line. Directions and operating hours are in the back of the grey book along with various activity brochures.

The space
This lovely, light-filled home features an open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area with a ranch slider which opens up to a north-facing deck. Our property is one of three homes on a shared driveway. Our snug home offers two comfortable bedrooms, both accessed from the main living space; one with a queen-sized bed and the other with a double, perfect for a restful night’s sleep - when booking please confirm sleeping arrangements as only one bed will be made up for couples unless stated otherwise. Please note, our home is not suitable for children.

At the heart of the home, the spacious living area boasts a cute dining setting and a cozy lounge that leads to the small deck. The modern bathroom is equipped with a shower and toilet, and you'll have access to Free laundry facilities (no coins required), including a washing machine and clothes dryer.

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to make a home-cooked meal, and the lounge is the perfect spot to relax with Freeview TV or while enjoying the Free Wi-Fi. Stay warm and comfortable with the newly installed heat pump, or if you're after that extra touch of cosiness, light the wood fire in Winter to make your stay even more inviting.

Parking is in the front of the house or on the main street. As the driveway is shared, please do not park in the driveway or behind the house.

Other things to note
As National Park Village is a small township, limited food options are available. We encourage you to bring food items especially if arriving late. While we do provide the very basic complimentary items you will need to purchase other items for the duration of your stay. The local gas station/four square provide the basics necessities.

Escape to a quaint, older-styled 1980s two-bedroom house, nestled amidst trees for a serene, private retreat. Located in the nearest village to Tongariro Crossing, it’s the ultimate post-hike haven. A short 10-minute walk to the railway or a 15-minute drive to Mount Ruapehu, it offers easy access to amenities and dining options. Complete with a well-equipped kitchen, heat pump, and included linen, it’s perfect for couples or small families. Please note you are required to clean before departure.

The space
The kitchen has a microwave, electric hob/oven, jug, toaster, fridge/freezer, slow cooker and waffle maker. The cupboards have basic supplies and we are more than happy if they get used if you’ve run out of something.

There is a small TV for use with the DVD player provided, and a range of DVD's, there is no TV reception.

On rainy days you can snuggle up with a good book, watch a DVD, play cards or just have a good yarn with each other.

Affectionately known as the Ruapehu Alpine Retreat this is a great place to relax and unwind. We can't wait for you to experience our relaxing cottage for yourselves.

National Park Village borders the dual World Heritage Tongariro National Park (Tongariro Alpine Crossing) to the east and the Whanganui National Park to the West, in the middle of a true wilderness wonderland. Skiing, snowboarding, fishing, tramping & biking are all very popular activities in this area.

It has a lockup double garage, on a large section planted in natives, in N P township, 10 minutes drive from Whakapapa skifield access, and 30 mins drive from Ohakune Mountain Rd access to Turoa skifield.

The space
The whole house is a 2 story chalet with a wood burner indoor fireplace. It has a semi attached private sleepout with ensuite, which has a shower and all other bathroom facilities.
There is an extra large double garage which has 2 carparks and contains the woodpile, kindling, and newspaper, all that you need to start the fire
Inside the chalet, the bathroom is a fully equiped bathroom with a shower and also a medium deep full length bath which is on gas rinnai hot water system so it never runs out!
The main bedroom is sun filled and has a balcony and a queen size bed with a piano/keyboard the that room which has a volume knob!
The second bedroom is upstairs and has 3 bunk beds and one double bed, and opens out onto a small balcony with views of Mt Ruapehu
The lounge with satellite TV/complimentary SKY TV, SKYMOVIES, SKYMOVIES FAMILY and 38 satellite channels. Plus NETFLIX(guests own account), TVNZ, and all other SMART TV apps! The lounge walks into the kitchen which is fully equiped and is adjacent to a separate laundry which has a washing machine and dryer and washing racks and washing powder, pegs and outdoor washing line as well

Large pink rubbish bags can be purchased from the NP 4 Square Gas station on the main highway(SH 4). Small amounts of rubbish can be left in the garage in the medium size kitchen tidy bags provided, and we will dispose of it. Larger amounts from large groups or long stays can be taken to the National Park Recycling centre in Pehi Rd, which is located just behind the NP railway station. Message me or search it on Ruapehu District Council website for the opening hours. A green flexibin is in the garage for recycling and/or upcycle any spare boxes for holding the recycling as well.
