The Cottage is approx. 50 sq metres in floor area and comprises open plan kitchenette and lounge with bathroom (on ground level) and loft with Queen double bed.

A large 'picture window' provides an expansive view from the waters edge out across the Bay. At full tide the waters edge reaches the front of the Cottage. French doors open to a patio area with BBQ and outdoor table.

To the right of the Cottage (facing the water) is a stretch of Reserve and trees bordering the road into Russell Village. Parking is alongside the Cottage.

- "Beautiful place! I loved everything about it - the view, the furniture, the kitchen supplies, the interiors, and the loft. Proximity to water is second to none. I loved waking up to the water view. We had some issue finding the place when checking in but Trish was easily reachable and super lovely and helpful. So overall I loved staying at this place! I just have three feedback. 1. If you google map the address it'll take you to the mainhouse driveway which is just 10m away from the boatshed one. So keep driving until you see "boatshed" sign. 2. The main entrance door was quite jammed to open although Trish got someone to fix it. We found it helpful to lift it up before pulling. 3. The outdoor bbq grill was mouldy so had to clean it properly before using."

Swimming is fun in the stream at high tide and there is shallow swimming from the beach although its a long walk to get deep water. Good swimming in the bay at Jills Beach within walking distance, and about 15 minutes drive to Eliotts Bay on the East Coast for sand and surf.
Walk to the old Whangamumu Whaling station or even to Cape Brett.

In Russell about 15 minutes away (17 km) are cafes, restaurants, tours (e.g. Hole in the Rock), fishing charters, museum, vineyards and oyster farm. The local mini bus tour is highly recommended.

Further afield Paihia, Waitangi and Kerikeri offer history, shopping, vineyards and golf.

Your hosts live in nearby house on the property and can assist with baby sitting and meeting your needs.

As unique as you can get! This gorgeous 1870's wooden chapel has been lovingly transported and restored into perfect holiday accommodation. The space is perfectly set up as a couples getaway providing an ideal escape from day to day life.
Located just 5 minutes drive from Russell, the Chapel at the Olive Grove is close enough to town to enjoy all there is to offer and it also has a Kitchenette and BBQ for those wishing to stay in for a quiet, romantic evening together.

The chapel was built in 1875 in Kawakawa, Bay of Islands by Irish coal miners and was formerly know as St Francis Xavier catholic church.
It is listed as a Category 2 Historic building with Heritage New Zealand and is constructed of 1 inch thick rough sawn Kauri planks.
It was moved to the site on the olive grove in 2012 by a local couple after it had fallen into disrepair and was no longer in use. It has been lovingly restored and set for its new life as holiday accommodation amongst the olive trees.

Because of the high ceiling and thick wooden walls the Chapel is lovely and cool in the hot summer months and we have an airconditioner/heatpump for added comfort.

Please do note that there is no TV. There is good wireless Wifi and a portable speaker if you would like to bring your own devise and streaming services to use

The cottage is a modern luxurious Cottage, set in the grounds of a number of cottages and located in the beautiful Bay of Islands - only a 3 hour drive from Auckland - a home away from home. Located in the heart of Russell village – Tinkerbell Cottage is only a short stroll from the waterfront, restaurants and cafes and 2 beaches.

The cottage has been built from traditional timber weatherboard. The interior features, solid timber floors in the living area, quality carpet to upstairs area, raked ceilings and is fully appointed to a very high standard.

On the ground floor there is an open plan lounge and dining area both flow out onto a terrace that captures the morning sun, – a great place to have breakfast while enjoying the small private rear garden, this large area also feature a ground floor master bedroom and en-suite with a super-king bed, (can be split into two single beds on request)

The cheerful and friendly " Coastal Cottage " situated on the quiet hill of Tapeka Point, 2 km from historic Russell center .The bach has a nice garden, sea view, facing the bush reserve . A sandy and safe beach is only 150m from the house.
Downstairs flat is permanently occupied by one tenant, and upstairs level is dedicated to receive guests during holidays . The garden is shared by all the occupants.
Nautic activities : swimming, fishing, diving, kayaking, boat ramp .Many walks around .

As unique as you can get! This gorgeous 1870's wooden chapel has been lovingly transported and restored into bespoke holiday accommodation. The space is perfectly set up as a couples getaway.

Located just 5 minutes drive from Russell, the Chapel at the Olive Grove is close enough to town to enjoy all there is to offer and it also has a Kitchenette and BBQ for those wishing to stay in for a quiet, romantic evening together.

For your comfort there is a new airconditioner/heatpump installed.

The space
The chapel was built in 1875 in Kawakawa, Bay of Islands by Irish coal miners and was formerly know as St Francis Xavier catholic church.

It is listed as a Category 2 Historic building with Heritage New Zealand and is constructed of 1 inch thick rough sawn Kauri planks.

It was moved to the site on the olive grove in 2012 by a local couple after it had fallen into disrepair and was no longer in use. It has been lovingly restored and set for its new life as holiday accommodation amongst the olive trees.

Because of the high ceiling and thick wooden walls the Chapel is lovely and cool in the hot summer months and we have a heat pump installed to keep guests warm and cozy in winter

Guests have the entire space to themselves including the front lawn of the chapel which has a picnic table on comfortable outdoor chairs available.

We have another space onsite (The Cottage on the Olive Grove) which may have guests staying and we ask each group to respect the privacy of the other.

The space
The Homestead is one of the oldest houses in NZ with the main part built in 1839/40 by Englishman James Reddy Clendon before he built Clendon House at Rawene. Floorboards in the master bedroom are believed to be from the ship the Brampton wrecked on Brampton Reef in the 1820s. Mullioned windows still have some of the original float glass. The house is maintained but not restored and is a bit frail. To stay there is to experience an incredible part of NZ history. Its not uncommon for guests to refer to the property as a bit of paradise!
The Homestead and Studio are let separately. If available, the Studio may be requested (additional charge made). This provides a second full bathroom.
The owners house is on site and they can provide assistance when required.

Guest access
Guests have access to grounds, including olive grove, play area with swings from big trees, foreshore, stream and 4 kayaks with lifejackets (adults and childs). When they are present, guests can enquire about feeding friendly cows in a fenced off paddock.

Other things to note
This unique property is 17m (approx 17 minutes) from Russell. The stream is tidal and boats up to 6m can be launched 2 hours either side of high tide. Boaties using this ramp should be competent in handling their boat and trailer. There are channel markers and instructions regarding leaving and entering the stream.
About 5km away at Te Uenga is a public boat launching ramp and trailer parking which can be very busy in peak season.
There is no rubbish collection and guests should consider taking their own rubbish and recycling to the Russell Transfer Station.

5 mins easy walk into historic Russell. Safe all-tide swimming in Kororareka Bay, the main beach just in front of the house, or a short drive over to lovely Oneroa (Long Beach).

The space
Built as a cottage during the 90's in a similar style to Henipapa, our 1927 Whalers' cottage which shares the same property, it is an open & breezy summer house oozing with tropical south-pacific style.

Both bedrooms have French doors leading out to a wrap around deck that looks out to a verdant valley full of Kiwi & Weka (you'll hear them calling each other - and you'll definitely see the Weka). Your main deck area is private with your own BBQ, while the central shared courtyard between Henipapa & Wetekia offers gentle shade by day, and a romantic fairy-lit haven by night. We ask guests to be mindful of noise and light in this space, out of respect for guests in the other home.

The main lounge area is a lovely cool and serene space to relax, or you can choose chase the sun on a bean bag around the large grounds. Lazy and languid by day, the top lawn is the best spot for late afternoon sun and views of the bay.

The kitchen is well set up with a Nespresso machine, toaster, jug, microwave, water filter jug and everything else you may need. There is a Bluetooth UE Boom speaker for guest use (+ another in the main house if you also rent that, so you can sync them up for stereo!), while the Samsung Frame smart TV is set up with free Netflix and Amazon Prime video.

The decks around Wetekia are your private space, the Central Courtyard and grounds are all shared spaces between the 2 holiday rentals on the same property. We ask the guests in each property to be mindful of each other’s peace and privacy especially in the evening.

The space
The cottage is a modern luxurious Cottage, set in the grounds of a number of cottages and located in the beautiful Bay of Islands - only a 3 hour drive from Auckland - a home away from home. Located in the heart of Russell village – Kingfisher Cottage is only a short stroll from the waterfront, restaurants and cafes and 2 beaches.

The cottage has been built from traditional timber weatherboard. The interior features, solid timber floors in the living area, quality carpet to upstairs area, raked ceilings and is fully appointed to a very high standard.

On the ground floor there is an open plan lounge and dining area, both flow out onto a terrace that captures the morning sun, – a great place to have breakfast whilst enjoying the small private rear garden.
