This quirky 1930's cottage looks directly across to the open fields of Kuirau Park. Kuirau Park offers free Geothermal Attractions, thermal foot baths, beautiful gardens, childrens playground, open playing fields and is bordered by the Rotorua Aquatic Centre. The park is host to a busy Saturday morning local market. Plenty to enjoy here.

A short walk takes you to the City Centre, 'Eat Streat', shopping, restaurants, cafes, cinema and the lake front.

The cottage is tastefully furnished throughout and has the quirks and charms of an older building (creaking, sloping floors and all). The two good-sized bedrooms each boast Queen beds and the second bedroom provides a sofa bed for extra guests, a port-a-cot is stored on site.
The sunny living room is equipped with a smart TV, every room has its own heater to take the chill off any frosty mornings and fans to cool you down when the temperature rises.
The kitchen has a full sized stove/oven. Coffee, tea and some basic pantry items are provided

There is a 2 night minimum stay - however if you wish to book for 1 night only a $25 fee will be added.

Our Rate per night is for up to 4 people, the cottage can sleep a maximum of 5 with the extra cost of $20 per person/per night (child under 12mths - no charge)

There is NO LAUNDRY on site but there are 2 Laundromats close by.

During the week a car grooming business operates from the workshop behind the house from 8.30am - 4.30pm. This creates no disturbance to the house but means the driveway beside the building needs to be kept clear during the hours of operation. The business is usually closed on week ends

Bring your boat or jet skis as there is a launching ramp and jetty a short distance away from the property. The house offers a linen option for those travelling from overseas or not wanting to bring there own linen with them.
For your enjoyment, there are 2 kayaks with life jackets, plus a SUP (Paddleboard) and there is a lockup garage for mountain bikes as well as a wash station. OUR COTTAGE - A DETAILED DESCRIPTION
We are absolute lakefront, but that is just the start. Over the years we have fully renovated the property to provide maximum comfort and convenience for our guests.

THE BEDROOMS
All of our bedrooms are a generous size, with dimmable mood lighting.

The Lake Bedroom has panoramic views over the lake. You can go to sleep with the relaxing sound of the water lapping just metres (or yards) away. It has a king bed, a comfortable window seat, and a 46” wall-mounted (full motion) HD TV connected to Sky / Netflix. There is direct access to the lakeside deck. This room has ample storage space with two large built-in wardrobes, a vanity and bedside tables.

The Middle Bedroom is a smaller room with partial views of the lake. It can be configured as either two king singles or a California king bed. It also has built-in wardrobes.

The Garden Bedroom has access to the rear patio area and garden through a sliding door. It has a queen bed and a wall-mounted bluetooth sound system. Again, this room has a built-in wardrobe, vanity and bedside tables.

Our good-sized Entranceway can be used as an office space with desk and printer, a play area, or as an extra bedroom. The bed is a double sized sofa bed with an added thick and comfortable memory foam mattress. There is also storage space for clothes etc. We have kept or maximum occupancy at eight, but this facility gives our guests more sleeping options. Great for larger families or groups of four couples.

There are two Italian foldaway slat beds for up to two extra guests if required. We also have an extra long camp bed for taller guests. Both the Lake and Garden bedrooms can fit two slat beds if needed without getting overcrowded.

Quality freshly-laundered linen and towels are included, with a choice of pillows (feather, fibre and memory foam) and duvets (down, feather, wool, synthetic) to suit the season and your comfort.

BATHROOMS

The property has two bathrooms with showers and Rinnai constant hot water. Bathroom 1 includes a washer and dryer, and an auto-filling spa bath. Bathroom 2 has a custom laundry unit for handwashing smaller items.

FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE

We always offer early check-in and late check-out, subject to other bookings for the same day. We also have cooking ingredients (herbs, spices, condiments, oils, etc) other conveniences (cling film, foil, baking paper etc) and a wide range of kitchen utensils for your use. This includes a nutribullet, rice cooker, air fryer, banquet frypan and Dolce Gusto coffee machine.

CHILD-FRIENDLY

The property is fully fenced. We also have a portacot with changing table and a multi-function high chair for guest use. We also have a well-stocked toy chest, and a cupboard in the kitchen for games and books.

FOR YOUR SAFETY

All of our appliances and electric blankets are safety tagged. We also have monitored smoke and fire detectors, a CO alarm, self-activated lighting around the property and a comprehensive first aid kit. Rotorua is an active geothermal area, so ‘just in case’ we have emergency supplies as recommended by Civil Defence, and emergency heating and lighting.

FOR YOUR SECURITY

The area is very safe, but we do have a monitored alarm that can be controlled by our guests. We also have two security cameras that can be set up to monitor the property while you are away. Neither camera looks directly at the cottage to preserve your privacy. The garage - which can be used for storing up to six mountain bikes - is also alarmed. There is a combination safe in the Lake Bedroom for your valuables.

FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT:

55” 4K smart TV in the lounge with 5.1 soundbar, Netflix and Sky / Sky Sport (multi-room). We also have a collection recent and classic DVDs and a separate sound system that includes an FM radio and cassette player (...remember those?). A selection of board games for those rainy days. Unlimited fibre fast broadband (325Mbps download) is included.

The property has two patio areas with tables and umbrellas. The rear area is sheltered and has a fixed brick BBQ. The lakeside area has a new hooded BBQ. We now have nine kayaks (four adult-size, two fishing kayaks, one twin kayak, two child size) for exploring the lake. We also have a range of safety jacket sizes.

FOR THE ENVIRONMENT:

We use environmentally-friendly toiletries and cleaning materials where we can. Composting of greenwaste is available and encouraged.

PLEASE, NO PARTYING! We stress that this is a very quiet spot, so no unreasonable noise after 10pm. We are prepared to enforce this as necessary to preserve the special ambience of the lakeside.

Took a stroll around property and was delighted by the beautiful vegetation and plant life. Our neighbors were also a friendly group. Would only recommend that instructions be sent for property a few days prior to arrival, instead of day of. We are from the states so our wifi was hit or miss and trying to upload documents was difficult. But nothing that wasn’t easily overcame. Beautiful walk from the cottage to Rotorua Town Center. There is a photo of the reserve labelled "Property grounds". This description fits the original "Lodge" but NOT the cottage. The address given is actually the address of the lodge not the cottage. The cottage is not lakeside but is behind the lodge with no view of the reserve or the lake and access to the reserve is at the end of the street. This is possibly a breach of the fair trading act. The waste disposal unit was jammed with a stone. We fixed it and left the stone on the window sill. The washing machine was half full of water. We just left it as we found it. The fan in the bathroom did not work. Operating the heater without the fan could damage the unit and is a fire hazard. The igniter of gas hob in the kitchen was turned off, the switch being on the other side of the kitchen and labelled "oven". Some instructions and better labeling would help. The shower rose was attached to the hose with duct tape and did not fit properly in the shower slide. The toilet roll holder was loose. The aerator on the kitchen sink mixer does not work resulting in splashing when used. This would be a simple fix for a plumber. In short, the general maintenance needs attention. The bach was comfortable and clean. The kitchen and bathroom were well appointed. The food supplied exceeded expectations. The linen was fresh."

This Lake Tarawera cottage is situated across from a permanent lakeside residence at Te Miro Point, Lake Tarawera. Rainbow Cottage catches the sun and is naturally warm in the winter, making it an ideal getaway for the keen fisherman. Wi-Fi is available too for all of your holiday snaps (please be aware that due to the remote location service can be erratic). The large Rainbow Trout in the lake are waiting for those looking to spend idyllic days on the water fishing.

As you enter Rainbow Cottage you will find yourself in an open-plan living and dining area. The dining area leads to the cosy kitchen. There is a small bench top oven, with a gas cooker on top and a BBQ is also available. The kitchen leads onto the master bedroom which is fitted with a queen bed. Bedroom 2 is situated next to bedroom 1 and is fitted with 2 single beds. Guests can also stay in the attached Studio Bedroom with external access.

Rainbow Cottage has direct access to Lady's Bay - a secluded sandy bay with jetty and mooring facilities. There's also kayaks and a dinghy available for your stay. Excellent fly fishing is available in the adjacent Waitangi Bay, providing trophy fish for the fly fishing enthusiast!

The property is family friendly with access to 2 safe swimming beaches, as well as a shared tennis court by arrangement. There is ample parking both for boats and vehicles.

A beautiful cosy space, freshly renovated space. Entrance is through the outdoor/indoor patio lounge, which leads into the main house with an open plan kitchen and lounge, two bedrooms and bathroom. Double glazed windows throughout most of the main house. From the patio head outdoors onto the deck, with outdoor dining area and an another covered space with a woodfired oven. Separate to the house is a large garage which can be used to store toys and outdoor gear.

Water supply is by rain water, stored in the large green tank and filtered with a UV system. Being rain supply, if its a long hot dry summer, guests should be considerate of water use.

The house is on a shared driveway with two other houses, which also have use of the jetty. Its generally a super quiet area and really has the feel of being away at the bach, quiet and relaxed.

There is an small urupa (cemetary) next door to the property which you will see when you walk down to the lake and jetty

This is a small but comfortable 2 bedroom bach, with well stocked kitchen, newly renovated bathroom (attached to the house but accessed from the undercover porch area rather than internal access), and a third bedroom outside attached to the external garage.

Note this is an older bach - it is basic, but comfortable, but definitely more of an old school kiwi bach (rather than a new, modern style holiday home).

Linen and towels provided, and all beds have pillows and duvets with plenty of spare blankets.

Outdoor facilities include BBQ (& gas bottle), kids kayak, outdoor table and chairs, bikes, petanque set.

It's a great spot for enjoying the summer, and a new heat pump, additional heaters and extra blankets make it nice and warm for when it's colder.

There are some kids toys, puzzles, DVDs, and plenty of books for rainy day activities, WiFi is also provided.

No indoor pets allowed, however outside dogs may be considered with pre-approval only.

The space
This quaint, cute, comfortable, spacious and well equipped cottage is only minutes from the town centre and also some of Rotoruas fantastic places to visit and things to do. The home is surrounded by gardens, some NZ native trees and a variety of fruit trees. Relax in the large lounge which has an array of games, puzzles, books and various games for those that want an "old fashioned" chill out time.

After a fabulous day exploring Rotorua or dining in one of the many eateries youn will find Nans Place is a really great place to chill out and relax!

Guest access
During your stay you will have exclusive use of two bedrooms. On your arrival you will use the lockbox (code sent just prior) to do a self check in.
We may need to catch up with mowing the lawns or do a tidy up in the garden but apart from a quick hello if you are around we will not disturb your stay. During the Spring-Autumn seasons we hope you enjoy the gardens and the fresh fruit (sprayfree).

Other things to note
Nans Place is on the main road directly into the City Centre via the fabulous Lakefront or the hospital entrance. The bike trail is literally just outside the door! Because this is a main road in and out of the City we have had some windows double glazed and we have block out blinds to ensure your stay is a comfy as possible. There is a well placed, large capacity Floor heat pump and a seperate fin heater. Unlimited ultra fast wifi. Parking for 2 small vehicles or a van can park easily on the inside drive way. If visitors come, you are free to leave the gates open and they park directly behind your vehicle. Off street parking is not a good option due to the busy main road.

Located just meters from Lake Rotorua in Ngongotaha. As a holiday destination you would have a hard time finding such a peaceful and convenient spot. Newly renovated , it's sunny, set in lovely gardens and only a short stroll to the lake and boat ramp. A great fishing, kayaking or fly fishing area, with the Ngongotaha stream only a short walk away.

The space
The Cottage features a large sunny patio and deck and is situated on a big section filled with colorful gardens. It has everything you could possibly need for a getaway. Newly renovated its fully furnished, including all linen. It has a large modern and functional kitchen with an oven,stove,microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. With a heat pump and a spa bath to keep you cosy and warm in the winter and a BBQ and patio to enjoy in the summer this cottage covers all the bases. To top off its very close to Rotorua's top Attractions including Skyline, The Agrodome, Wingspan, Paradise Valley Zoo, OGO, Mamaku blueberries and much more. Most of these attractions are only a short drive away. The large section is fully fenced and has a electronic gate, there is plenty of room for parking. Ngongotaha village is just a short walk away and has a 4 square store, cafes , takeaway shops, bakeries, a medical center and a post shop. For the sporty guests there is enough space to store bikes and other sports equipment in the garage. The owners are living next door and happy to help with any advise or recommendations.

Cute country cottage retreat. Located 15 minutes from the CDB and only 5 minutes from the local shops. Private BBQ area with a bonus short stroll to the small pond which is located on the 2 acres of beautiful land surrounded by nature and farm animals. The site is very peaceful and private, great walks up the road with spectacular view over the lake and city. A new Supermarket opened just a few Km toward the city at Te Ngae. For bikers road or mountain or any one just wanting get away from it all an d have some peaceful natural surroundings this place is heaven.

The space
The Cottage has a queen size bed, sitting area, fire place, kitchen area, bathroom, shower and toilet, outside deck and is fully equiped for cooking meals. The pod has a small sitting area and a queen size bed, facilities are share used in the cottage.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave oven etc. The dining room opens onto a cobblestoned courtyard with an outdoor eating area with a bbq. There is also a kent fire & heat pump for winter so the house is lovely & warm. Linen is not provided - please BYO sheets & towels, duvet & blankets are provided.

If you have young children a portacot and highchair are available, along with plenty of board games, DVD's and books to keep them entertained. The property has a large fenced area for safety for children (& dogs).

Located next to a reserve with a playground, close to a boat ramp and a good swimming beach, this is the perfect location for your next family holiday. Well behaved & house trained dogs are welcome and there is even room for a boat!

New everything from the custom designed double glazed windows to the handcrafted breakfast bar. On the outskirts of Rotorua city Rimu cottage is peaceful and a place to recharge your batteries which of course is made easier with a soak in the spa. Let the farm animals entertain you with chickens, sheep, Tara the Springer spaniel and Chief the cat.

The cottage is up our long driveway overlooking Lake Rotorua. A great place to relax and explore the wonderful attractions that Rotorua has to offer. We are just a short distance away from some of NZs famous trout fishing spots, Hamurana Springs and Hamurana Golf Club

The space
The inside is made of cedar, on some days you can smell the lovely wood smell. It has a large conservatory to relax in, read a book or enjoy the view. It also has a wrap around deck to chase the sun and enjoy a drink or BBQ. I'm sorry we do not have wifi, but it does recieve phone coverage.

Other things to note
As we are near the Lake, during the warmer seasons of the year, we suffer from trout/lake fly. To avoid them ruining your stay, you will need to close windows and doors when you have the lights on at night

Fuchsia Tree Cottage is a quaint one bedroom cottage with a sleep out that is 1m from the cottage door. It’s a lovely space for a couple or a small family, particularly in winter. In summer it’s a great space for larger groups as it can actually sleep 11, this is not recommended in winter. We have an outdoor toilet/shower on back deck. A stunning view is a short walk up the section, beautiful for sundowners and morning coffee, (not seen from lounge of cotttage) & a 3 minute walk to the lake.

Quiet, intimate and perfect for just relaxing in a rustic cottage environment. Light the fire in winter and snuggle up with a wine.
