We have upgraded and redecorated the cottage while retaining its 1950's charm. It has a woodburner for winter stays and we never run out of firewood. All the beds have electric blankets. The master bedroom has an ensuite toilet. You will love the peace and quiet and the views across rolling farmland. We do our best to meet your needs and ensure you have a pleasant and comfortable stay. Please note that cellphone reception and Wifi are not great in our area.

This cottage is ideal for those in the area for the night for an event and looking for somewhere to stay, but would make a great long weekend escape too. With plenty of activities in the area, it is also a suitable holiday destination.

The cottage was built in the 19th century as the Cookhouse, so was home to the person who cooked for all those who lived and worked on the farm. It is set in a garden with a variety of fruit trees, and if you visit in spring the verandah will be draped with the most magnificent wisteria.

The cottage is spacious with a huge kitchen, a Kent fire and an open fire.

We are located less than 15 minutes from Feilding, about 10 minutes from Bulls, and about 25 minutes from Palmerston North. Manfeild in Feilding is only around 15 kilometres away. Ideal location for those going to the Central Districts Field Days.

There is a golf course about 6 kilometres away. Both Bulls and Sanson offer fantastic antique shops and cafes and are within a 5 - 10 minute drive. Mt Lees Reserve is close by and has a 1-2 km well-maintained track through native bush.

- "A lovely, quaint old property that was once a farm cookhouse. Quiet and secluded setting but within easy driving distance of Feilding, Marton and Bulls. Makino Cottage is a newly-built, air-conditioned chalet just 20 minutes north-west of Feilding. It is a self-contained unit comprising 2 full sized bedrooms with queen beds, bathroom, open plan living-room and fully-equipped kitchen.

It can comfortably sleep 2-6 people and is ideally suited for families or two couples.

The covered decking is the perfect place to sit and relax with a chance to catch sight of the native birds that frequent the nearby flaxes and cabbage trees. In the evening, enjoy the clear star-filled sky and hear the call of our local morepork.

The cottage is close to both the Manfield Park and Raceway especially for Central District Field Days and Central Energy Trust Arena, part of which is home to Robertson Prestige International Speedway.

Just five minutes away from the Rangitikei River and close to Hawkestone Golf Club, Makara MX Track and Mt. Lees Reserve Bush Walk.

Please be aware that the property is located within a working lifestyle block and guests must stay within the cottage perimeters.
