The space
Two cabins, beautifully linked by a covered fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen is covered and has a pull down blind to keep out the weather ( as shown in the photo). The bathroom consists of a shower, basin and composting toilet. The bedrooms are fully insulated and lined with double glazing.

Fully off grid, and featuring many reclaimed and recycled materials, our Retreat has character and charm.

Huge deck with built in outdoor fireplace, overlooking a private pond with wonderful rural bush views.

The space is designed for families with a maximum of 4 adults staying comfortably.

We have recently completed a beautiful outdoor pool. This is available to guests for a charge and at selected hours, please discuss this on arrival if you would like to use it.

Our place is your retreat, we have no wifi, limited phone coverage for spark and no TV. Take this as your digital detox!
We are off grid for power, have tank water, a composting toilet and outdoor kitchen and dining area, which can be closed in by the blinds and warmed with the outdoor fireplace.
There are bush trails to walk, tree houses for the kids, a trampoline and a flying fox for entertainment!
Marshmallow and hokey pokey, the Indian runner ducks live in the pond and are very friendly.
There are kiwis on our property and these can be heard at night, as well as morepork.
We are designed for families, this is not a party place to come and stay, we welcome quiet and respectful groups.

The property is a 10 minute derive away from the quaint historic village of Russell.

Surrounded by nature you can hear Kiwi calling in the night, wake to the sound of Tui, joined by Fantails, Wood Pigeons, Tom Tits, and Weka as they go about their day.

Down a 150-meter native bush track is beautiful secluded Pomare Bay, sheltered by giant Pohutakawa.

Uninterrupted views and ample light provide the perfect retreat for you to chill out, pause and reflect, while soaking up the comfortable contemporary surrounds that include: a spacious living area, kitchenette, TV with Netflix, Wi-Fi, separate bedroom with Queen bed, and roomy bathroom. Or soak up the rays on the expansive deck.

Our home is a 112 year old restored villa only 100 metres from the town. A flat walk to all the cafes and restaurants. The self contained cottage is behind the villa, set in a well established semi tropical garden. A tranquil setting graced by a 100+ year old Kauri, Totara & Rimu tree. Wake up to birdsong and enjoy the peaceful setting, only a block from town.

The space
The four room cottage offers a one bedroom with queen size bed. A living room with a very comfortable sofa. The bathroom has plenty of space with heated towel rails. The kitchenette is graced with a teak sink, refrigerator, espresso machine, microwave, and plenty of utensils. However to get to the kitchenette you need to go through the bathroom. Our TV offers Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple & Sky TV. Although enjoying the sunset at the Russell Seaside is the best TV in the world!

Tui Cottage is located right on the beach, overlooking the turquoise waters of Orongo Bay with beautiful views of the Russell Peninsula. It is nestled at the foot of a bush clad valley in a quiet setting surrounded by birdsong.
The perfect place to relax, kick back and enjoy yourselves! Take a walk along the beach, swim or explore the area by kayak!
