An “eco-oasis” in the township of Warkworth for you to relax in a stylish bedroom and lounge accommodation with ensuite.
However, there is now a building site next to the accommodation and there will be builders working between 7.30am and 5pm on weekdays and 8am and 1pm on Saturdays.
There are coffee and tea making facilities, decent size fridge, crockery and cutlery but no cooking facilities or cooking permitted. 10 minutes walk to Warkworth township with restaurants and cafes.
The space
Your hosts, Chris & Sabine, established their orchard and organic veggie gardens some 30 years ago. The garden area is partly planted and harvest time is a busy time with preserving, drying and fermenting.
On their 2,500m2 property, they keep chickens , there are ponds and beehives.
You can request one complimentary homemade breakfast for the day of your arrival .
There are loads of Tuis and Fantails (piwakawaka) and some visiting Wood Pigeons (kereru), Rosella and Kaka.
Your host's home is made entirely from macrocarpa harvested off the property. Chris & Sabine's lifestyle can be described as environmentally aware and committed to a healthy, meat-free (some fish) holistic – from the garden to the table – diet.
Sauerkraut, kimchi, fruit leather, dried fruit and organic bread, (flour is milled on site from organic grains from the South Island) are made on the premises.

There is a bedroom (1 queen-size bed), lounge, fridge and tea and coffee facilities, ensuite in a self-contained apartment.
The accommodation is walking distance to the township, and is equipped with a private deck , watching sunrises or sunsets, or just to relax with a glass of wine.There are 2 flights of stairs to climb, one with 6 stairs and one with 3.

Settled between Puhoi and Warkworth. With stunning sea views of the Coromandel Peninsula. Just off the main stretch of old SH1 yet far enough away for it to be a restful & tranquil retreat. A two bed room self contained Home with a separate laundry & bathroom and kitchen. Pet friendly by negotiation. Nearby supermarkets, historical Puhoi township and some great walks and beaches. Matakana is about a 20 minute drive, Omaha beach 25 mins and Orewa and Waiwera 15 mins and Auckland city 45 minutes

Susie’s cottage is a two bedroomed cottage one main bedroom with a Queen bed, and a smaller second bedroom with bunk beds great for small and larger kids. The sofa in the living space is a pull out sofa bed.
Breakfast can be provided for an additional $10 per head/night , just enquire at time of booking! Not during peak period 1

We are in a semi rural location so you can expect to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The cottage is situated on our property within three acres of land.
The facilities include washing machine, self contained bathroom with bath over head shower. Kitchen facilities include oven, microwave and generous sized fridge freezer. Kettle and toaster facilities are provided and basic kitchen needs. There is a 32 inch TV with all Freeview digital and a blu ray player with access to hundreds of dvds and blurays. We have wifi internet which reaches the cottage, but not a dedicated line.
It is a home from home. Close to Omaha beaches and Matakana, Warkworth, Orewa and waiwera! Stop here for a rest in your way north or south. We are even pet friendly( by negotiation). There is also a very child friendly garden space with super large enclosed trampoline and a playground with slide, swings and climbing wall for your little ones to use whilst you supervise them.

Cottage is self contained and has access to washing machine. We provide a library of blu rays and dvd's. You need only ask. If you need clothes drying this can be arranged for a small fee.
Other things to note
Susie’s cottage is hidden behind the main house on just over 3 acres of grazing land. It is a completely separate dwelling and very private. But if you need anything we are nearby. Please note we are rural and internet connection is through a router extension from the main house, so if you need Internet for work perhaps Susies cottage may not be for you, guests are welcome to sit on our decks closer to the house for a more guaranteed connection. but if you are looking for a home away from home and some peace and quiet, book away!
As mentioned pets are welcome but there is a flat rate of $25 per stay as a pet surcharge. To allow a for missed poo pick ups and extra cleaning entailed.
