If the LIV office is closed, you will need to drive up to the gate. On the keypad, there are instructions for contacting security on call; they will come to the gate. You will be registered and security will allow you through the gate for the night. You will need to go back to the LIV office the next morning to check in. They will provide you with vehicle passes and amenity bracelets.

Great house, and we will not change our 5-star review, but unfortunately we picked up bed bugs from the master bedroom during the stay. Confirmed by a doctor today. Parents in second bedroom were OK. We are fumigating and washing our clothing and bags, but it would be a good idea to pass a message to the owner prior to the next guests arriving. Never had this happen before- entirely unpleasant."

- "My husband and I were celebrating our 34th anniversary and my 54th birthday. This was a perfect place for us and we really enjoyed our stay. Everything was as pictured/described. The only negative is that there are only blinds in the bedroom and the edges have some gapping so you can feel kind of exposed and in the evening car lights would shine through. I would suggest putting up blackout curtains. There is an amenity fee and they do have plenty of things you can do but we did not take advantage of them because we went sight seeing and the beach. We were minutes from South Padre Island. We scoped out the best public beach access and we ended up using beach access #2. It has a wooden walkway so it made it easier to get your things closer to the beach but I would suggest still having a cart with tires made for sand to get through the sand to your spot of choice to set up. You can not set up any canopies until 9:00 am and they do drive through and enforce this. We also had a small portable grill that we could use but you must bury your coals. Over all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely would stay again and recommend to others."

The space

we just remodeled everything on the sea cottage. It has new furniture , new floors, new bathrooms and new appliances But it does not have a washer and dryer in the sea cottage. LIV does have a community washer and dryer location by the pool. If you go to longislandvillage.com it will show you pictures of the gym, pool, golf course, etc.

We spent every evening on the porch watching the sunset, dolphins, birds, boats, ships and barges. We spent the day fishing and bird watching. Gabriel was an awesome host and answered any questions we had. Very easy access instructions to the cottage and while staying in the cottage. - "We loved our stay. Beautiful home, very clean, with the large deck extending over the water. Caught catfish using shrimp bait! Nice views, big yard to explore with citrus trees, and super-clear starry night sky. So nice that we didnt want to leave!" - "We were looking for a location closest to south padre island without paying astronomical prices, this was the best we could find. My husband LOVES to fish so this was a great place for him. However, the lighting outside is terrible. Only the deck has good lighting, everything else has zero lighting. We all at some point tripped or stubbed our feet with deck or steps. Boards on the deck are not in great condition. The bbq pit is on a small patio with no lighting whatsoever, which is why we missed a small faded sign at the top of a window “don’t put pit on deck”. Our bad. As for the rest of the house, it was ample space. It’s an older house with paint slapped on. Beds were comfortable enough. Good place if you’re looking for seclusion."

- "We enjoyed our stay at Bella Luna. Easy access to South Padre island. I enjoyed watching the dolphins from the bench by the swing bridge every morning. Wal-Mart is 5 minutes away for curbside grocery pickup or for anything extra you may need. We brought our jet skis and easy access to the neighborhood boat ramp and use of dock at the house. No indoor smoking, no unattended children, and children must be with adults at all times. Children must not be left alone in the personal jacuzzi, pools, boats docks at any time!

- "I love everything about this place. The setting in this Resort is just beautiful and you can see everything for miles. As you walk down through this canals and channels everybody has boats here and there and you can see the huge Rockets over there way way over there by SpaceX and then if you look the other direction you can see the big Sky Rises at South Padre Island. This property has its own washer and dryer full size oven and fridge, beautiful big giant porch and a Jacuzzi. Really nice people. Wonderful amenities. So don't be afraid when you have to pay the $90 Resort fee. Did you take advantage of it you do get a lot for your money. The outdoor pool is humongous and just beautiful and they do have an indoor pool for laps and I think I counted three hot tubs / Jacuzzis and they have a wonderful gym and a whole room dedicated to cardio equipment and they've got the golf course and Putt Putt Golf and Tennis Courts and a basketball court. I'm only sad I didn't get to play any tennis. But I did get lots of walks with my dog around the property there's just so many places to go. At the End of the Street there is an area with a gazebo and some benches that you can sit and hang out and it's a nice little walk to take your dog or you're not peeing on anybody's grass! The dog that is! LOL Yvonne is a wonderful host. The check-in process was quick and easy. Plenty of towels and a really comfortable bed. TVs in both the bedroom and the living room was pretty nice. Some vrbo's only have a TV in the living area I love the ceiling fans because they keep it a lot cooler in there then just having the freezing cold air from the AC blasting. She has a great collection of pots and pans that you can make yourself a really nice dinner. Everything is close by grocery store Walmart everything you could possibly need you could ride your bicycle. I believe the resort even has its own Grill or cafe? I didn't get a chance to check that out but I did walk all over the property and there's huge Recreation rooms that I think I seen people in there playing cards and in the evening when I was taking a stroll I could see that there was a lot of people gathered at the pro shop. So whether you want to hang out by yourself at the Gazebo or go join in the fun, there is a little map and calendar that talks about all the different things going on. I think they I even saw a sign that said they have bingo."

- "A few minor nits: The process of getting a gate pass is unpleasant. The office closes at 4 on Sundays and 5 other days. Getting there after the office closes is complicated and takes a half hour or more. Not the owners fault but just a warning — try to get there before the “Welcome Center” closes. It is a gated community of mostly snowbirds which is nice. The directions to the actual house could be improved but perhaps the welcome center could have helped there. The unit itself was very nice. One bed, one fold out couch and two fold out chairs. Kitchen, dining area, two areas to relax in plus outside deck."

the salt air will destroy the units and leave you without air
conditioning.  Please feel free to change the temperature for
comfort.

The space
Long Island Village 349 Sand Dollar

This lovely family home enjoys a coveted location right on the channel, with spectacular views of the water from a private deck, plus dock access, on-site amenities, and more! Inside, you'll find a bright and tasteful living space with cathedral ceilings, lots of comfortable furniture, maritime décor, and glistening floors. The living room includes a large flatscreen TV, perfect for those lazy afternoon ballgames, and sliding door access to the furnished deck overlooking the water. The full kitchen has plenty of small and major appliances, cabinetry, and counter space to help you turn out a world-class meal. Enjoy your creation at the dining table with seating for four or take it outside as an al-fresco meal under the cool sea breeze.

The private washer/dryer will ensure that everyone has clean clothes during your stay, so you can afford to pack light for your trip. Take the family boat out for a tour of the channel and gulf then come home to spend a relaxing evening at the shared game room located within the Long Island Village complex, where you'll find Ping-Pong and pool tables, and lots more. Take advantage of the shared pool, hot tub, fitness center, and basketball and tennis courts while you're here. The home's central AC and ceiling fans will keep the home nice and cool during your stay and the free WiFi will make researching your next gulf adventure quick and easy.

Right across the channel (less than four miles by car), you'll find Fins to Feathers Dolphin Tours, where you can take the kids for a fun tour of local marine wildlife. You'll have plenty of terrific restaurants within two miles of the home anytime you need a break from the kitchen. George's Fishing Charters is ready to take you out to catch your fill of fresh and saltwater fish, and it's less than seven miles away!

Things to Know
The dock is available for use by renters; however, the boat lift is reserved for owner use only.
The property is not suitable for small children as there are no gates or barriers that exist at dock entry.
2-day minimum stay required.
You must check in at the Long Island Village Resort Center to pay for parking passes (two vehicles maximum) and wristbands. This is an $90 fee that will be paid directly to the Long Island Village HOA on arrival and is not included in your Vacasa fees.

**** Please note, Texas weather brings pesky insects, and while we strive to ensure your stay is as pleasurable as possible, we are not able to control the elements that attract insects to the outdoor/indoor areas. All properties do utilize pest control maintenance regularly, BUT this does not guarantee pests or bugs will not be visible.
** The host does not guarantee stable wifi services at all times during your stay. This may also affect streaming services for televisions.

NO PARTY POLICY: This home maintains a strict no-party and no-spring break policy. Our local South Padre Island team monitors compliance with our rental policies and responds promptly to any complaints from neighbors. If any guests are found to violate these rental policies, it will result in eviction without a refund. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a damage waiver fee which covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. An entire home in the Long Island Village community. Great views of the wetlands and turning basin with sunsets over the channel. Both SpaceX facilities can also be seen from the porch. Just a short drive to South Padre Island beaches, food and attractions.

This unit has 3 beds and an air mattress, giving options for the whole group to enjoy. Spacious living room/kitchen open layout for entertaining.

Equipped kitchen and grill along with great local restaurants provides many dining options.

The space
The unit is in a resort community which requires a $90 registration fee which is per reservation not per person, this is independent from what we charge. Included are up to two parking passes, a gate code for entering the community, and wristbands for access to the amenities such as the pool, hot tub, gym, golf course, etc.

Our Sea Cottage has 2 beds and 2 baths. The downstairs bedroom has a king size bed, and a full bathroom. The living room, dining area and open kitchen are also downstairs. All TVs are Roku devices for you to login to your own streaming services. The lower patio has a propane grill ready to use and a seating area attached to a dock for fishing. The main porch has comfortable deck furniture from which to enjoy the views and incredible sunsets. This is also where the laundry room is located.

Upstairs there is a bedroom with 1 king and 1 queen size beds, and a small desk providing a comfortable space to get things done on our high speed WiFi. This bedroom also has it's own private bathroom.

For people interested, the SpaceX launch pad and build facilities at Starbase are able to be seen well from the porch, since we are located in the closest residential development on this side of the canal. About 5.5 miles away, this is among the best views you can get of Starbase from a private residence. We also have a viewing scope available to get a better look.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire home which is half of the building. There is a completely private entrance, two decks, and a dock.
