Unfortunately could not take advantage of the great outdoor space and deck as much as we would have liked as it was well over 100 Deg F for most of our 3 day stay. Be aware however, that the property is on a hillside and that means lots of steps, so if you are on the wrong side of 70 like us be prepared for a bit of a workout when it’s hot. Would definitely stay here again hopefully when it’s a little cooler."

The home is located in a cul-de-sac with 2 other homes to the right of us but no one to the left or behind us. You cannot see any neighbors from the back porch which makes the home feel very secluded.

On your drive to the house, you will be immersed in the beautiful rolling hills of Texas Hill Country and if you look closely, you'll even be able to see the lake at the peak of the hills from the neighborhood!

For those of you looking to do some work during your stay, we offer high speed internet, and our dining table has a great view for you to enjoy during the workday.

The home is furnished with a king-sized bed in the master bedroom and a queen-sized bed in the second bedroom. The optimal amount of guests is 4 people, but if you're willing to squeeze, it could fit 5-6 people - Although, someone might have to sleep on our comfy sectional to make it work for parties larger than 4!

In the kitchen, you will find that it is stocked with all the silverware, cutlery, dishes, pots, pans, spices, and cooking oil you'll need to make meals at home.

We also provide a coffee bar stocked with a Keurig, coffee pods (including decaf), a selection of teas, sugar, and creamer.

The living room is furnished with a nice flat-screen Roku TV so you can login to any streaming app during your stay.

Additional amenities you will find include: a washer and dryer, iron, blow dryer, towels, shampoo/conditioner, and more.

You'll have access to the entire home, other than the garage, as that stays locked for our cleaners.

We are happy to host furry friends, but we do want to make note that the backyard is not fenced in. For those requesting to bring along a pet, we ask that you approve that with the host first.

Please note that anytime you book a home in Texas Hill Country, there is always the risk that the county could be under a burn ban based on recent weather conditions. As of right now, Comal County is NOT currently under a burn ban. We work hard to keep our guests updated on the current status of any burn bans. Our hot tub is always available for use and is a great way to stay warm while enjoying the outdoors year round, especially if any burn bans prevent guests from using the outdoor fireplace.

Please note that we do not allow check-ins or check-outs on major holidays (NYE & NYD, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Day). This is so we can allow our cleaners to have these holidays off with their families.

Please note, in an effort to maintain a secure premises, the home is equipped with a ring doorbell and three exterior cameras. One exterior camera looks out into the front entrance/driveway and the other two are located on the backside of the house. The cameras are ONLY on the exterior, and there are no cameras on the inside.

Our home is thoroughly cleaned between each stay which includes the hot tub.

Any items left behind by a guest will be either thrown out, or shipped to the guest at their expense.

La Casita is a separate cottage apartment of a larger BnB. The lodging is not directly attached. It has a separate and private entry, courtyard, grill, sitting area and hot tub. There is dedicated parking to La Casita guests only.

There’s no washer and dryer in this lodging; however, there is a quality laundromat one mile down RR 12.

Hidden gem! Cute cottage on three peaceful acres on the edge of town. Deer in the yard every evening...feels like country but within 5-15 minutes of everything San Marcos!

The space
We are located on the edge of San Marcos in a country subdivision of 3-5 acre lots. The private guest house near our home is a beautifully designed tiny home featuring a cozy studio layout with a king size bed below and two twin beds in the loft (meant for kids), stocked kitchenette, bathroom, relaxing front porch, and pure, clean rainwater at every faucet! A great place to unwind.

Surround yourself with style in this standout space. Our home is located minutes from the lake, 15 mins from the White Water Amphitheater and river. We are located in a modest quiet neighborhood. We offer a beautiful cozy home, all new interior with electric fireplace. Our deck is a great place to unwind after a day on the lake or river. Our hot tub has many jets and will be the perfect ending to a day of sightseeing. We have peacocks and deer that frequently visit.

Our home has everything you will need for your stay. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking. We have a full-size dining table that will seat four. We have an electric fireplace that has the option to warm, or you can choose just the lights for the ambiance with no heat option. We have a stackable washer and dryer. We have a Keurig and drip coffee maker. The outdoor deck has ample room to stretch out and we have a gas grill for cooking out. We have plenty of parking for a boat or other toys (jet skis, golf cart). We store our RV on site but it is not used while guest are staying on our property.

Guests are welcome to explore the property, but please be aware that we are located in a rural area. While we regularly treat the yard and casita for pests, you may still encounter insects, critters, scorpions or even snakes—please exercise caution when outdoors.

We provide a gas fire pit for your enjoyment. While propane is not included with your rental, you are welcome to use any propane that may already be available in the tanks. We do our best to keep the grill supplied, but cannot guarantee propane will be available in all tanks. If needed, you’re welcome to exchange or refill tanks at a nearby store at your own expense.

Please note that we store our RV on the property, but it is not rented out or occupied during guest stays.

Please do not park on grass, as it could cause damage to septic system pipes which are buried, if you would like additional photos or a more detailed view of the property and amenities, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to provide more information.

Important Information About the Property

Our casita is, semi-private, mostly fenced property with neighboring homes nearby. While it offers a peaceful country setting, it is not completely secluded. Please note that wild peacocks often visit the property, and as with any rural location, you may encounter bugs or wildlife despite our regular pest control efforts.

Hot Tub Use & Safety

To protect the hot tub’s filtration system, please do not use oils, bath bombs, bubble bath, or scented products in the water. Detailed instructions for proper hot tub use can be found in the Welcome Book. For safety and liability reasons:
• Children must be supervised by an adult at all times when near or in the hot tub.
• We do not recommend hot tub use for children under 8 years old.
• After heavy use, guests are required to add one packet of the provided oxidizer to maintain water quality.

Child Safety

While we love children, please note that our property is not childproof. There are potential hazards such as a gas fire pit and grill, which are available for guest use. If you’re traveling with little ones, we ask that you take extra care. Feel free to message us for details about amenities provided during your stay.

Lovely Casita (Spanish-style guest house) with 2 queen bedrooms, 2 full baths and modern amenities on the 7.5 acre Huisache Moon Ranch. Built in 2021. Peaceful ranch getaway close to Wimberley, San Marcos, San Antonio, and Austin. The 815 sqft includes living room, dining area, and kitchenette. Each bedroom has its own AC-Heating control. Water supply is pure, filter rainwater. Come for a quiet weekend away, a new work-from-home location, or a jumping off place for sightseeing with friends.

Sit on the front porch with a glass of wine or beer, read a book, watch the wildlife, feel the gentle hill country breezes, and hear the quiet sounds of nature as you unwind and relax.

Looking for a different place to work remotely? Lounge on the porch using the 1000Mbps Wi-Fi and the 200Mbps connection to the internet for reliable remote working.

Interested in stargazing while sitting by the fire pit (if no burn ban) having drinks and maybe some smores? It is so dark out here at night away from the city lights that you can clearly see the Milky Way.

Sleep on soft linen sheets, wake after a peaceful night's sleep, have coffee from the Kuerig machine or make tea from the assortment available, shower in luxurious filtered rainwater, and make your own breakfast before heading out to numerous local attractions like Wimberley Market Days, San Marcos' Spring Lake, Canyon Lake, or Texas State University. Visit Austin or San Antonio for tasty lunch or dinner.

We love pups! Friendly dogs are welcome and our fee is $25/day per pup . Owners of dogs acknowledge when booking that their dog is well behaved and socialized. We can a maximum of 2 dogs in this cabin. When booking we ask that you register your pups with us in your introduction message. Please keep our furry friends off of the furniture and clean up outside after them so our future guests can enjoy the space as well! Dogs must remain on a leash anytime outside of the fenced in area. Excessive animal impact on the cabin will be assessed additional cleaning and/or repair fees beginning at $40.

We are a dog friendly property! While dog owners agree to leash rules, guests should always add the dog's owner for permission to interact or pet their dog.

The A frame means the side walls of the loft are built at an angle (like that of the letter "A") which slant at a 45 degree angle versus the traditional 90 degree angled walls.

The loft houses three single beds. The stairs to the loft are steep. With that said, we love children - please monitor them on the front porch and around the loft area and steps.

The bathroom is accessible next to the Master Bedroom.

There is no smoking inside or outside. No hunting on the property.

Please be mindful of the other guests and our neighbors. Music should be shut down by 10pm.

Please keep the land clean and free of trash and litter. Recycling bin and trash receptacle are available at the end of the drive. Please leave the cabin and surrounding area as you found it for the next guest to enjoy.

Due to the scenic nature of our property the chances of encountering other living creatures (deer, roadrunners, insects etc) is relatively high when compared to life in an urban setting. We ask that you please book with that in mind. We do our best to keep those who live outside, outside. However, if you should encounter an insect in your cabin please don’t hesitate to contact us for assistance in relocating our fellow forest dwellers. Keeping doors and windows closed is the best way to prevent unwanted visitors.

The space
This charming 100-year-old cottage located along Lake McQueeney** is a little sanctuary from the hustle and bustle. The bright, air ambience of this tranquil space includes original shiplap walls that have been painted bright white, a large clawfoot tub, vaulted ceilings and a gas fire pit that sits under towering cypress and pecan trees. And since this property is all about peace and "quiet", each sleeping space is outfitted with the extra comfy beds and high-quality, 100% cotton bed linens. Just under 1,000 square feet, this cozy cottage features one bedroom with a luxury queen mattress with a twin built-in bunk bed above and closes to the rest of the space with a large sliding barn door; a sleeping loft with two XL twin beds (no privacy door) and a sleeping porch with two additional twin beds (no privacy door). A wall of windows off the back of the house offers a serene view from every room of the home! The large dining table that seats six is perfect for family dinners or game night. The perfect family getaway and the cutest place for a girls' trip or bachelorette party.

Our little cottage is only 5 miles to Seguin and 9 miles to Schlitterbahn Water Park, historic New Braunfels and Gruene. Local attractions include Gruene Hall, Natural Bridge Caverns, the Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo, local wineries or rafting on the Guadalupe River. We are also just 15 minutes to the San Marcos Premium Outlets.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need for your stay including a gas range, dishwasher, coffee pot and ground coffee, French coffee press, crock pot, microwave and toaster. The refrigerator and washer and dryer are located in the front utility room. The farmhouse style bath has been updated with spa-like features a marble-topped antique vanity, a vintage cabinet turned into a bath closet stocked with plush cotton towels, complementary make up wipes, toothbrushes and ear plugs! Be sure to enjoy a long, "quiet" soak in the 66-inch-long claw-foot bath (original to the home) with our signature bath salts during your stay. Two comfy couches and a flat-screen TV make this a family-friendly getaway.

With a large front and backyard, there is plenty of room for a game of croquet, washers or tag. If the weather happens to not cooperate for plans outside, there are board games, cards, books and puzzles inside and plenty of cozy nooks for reading or taking a nap. Sitting around our gas fire pit overlooking the lake is a peaceful way to finish your day! A large farm table with 10 bistro chairs is the perfect place for family gatherings al fresco. A gas grill is available for use and is also under the covered patio on the side of the house.

This little retreat is ideal for special celebrations, family vacations or a getaway with the girls! Please let us know if you have any special requests during your stay or upon your arrival (such as flowers or a bottle of chilled bubbly) and we'll do our very best to make it happen!

**SPECIAL NOTE: PLEASE BE AWARE THAT LAKE MCQUEENEY WAS RECENTLY LOWERED FOR DAMN REPAIR. THE WATER IN FRONT OF OUR HOME IS DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY BUT WE STILL HAVE LOTS OF WATER (UP TO 8-9 FEET IN THE MIDDLE SECTION) FOR SWIMMING, FLOATING AND KAYAKING. WE BUILT A TEMPORARY DOCK WITH STAIRS AND A FLOATING PLATFORM THAT MAKES ACCESSING THE LOWERED LAKE MUCH EASIER.

NO Smoking: Smoking of any kind (including tobacco, marijuana, e-cigarettes, vape pens, and hookahs) is not allowed at this property. This applies to the entire house.

NO pets: Although we are pet lovers, this is a small property without fencing so pets are prohibited. A cleaning/service charge of $150 will be applied to anyone who breaks this rule. We have neighbors that have permanent residence next to our home who will let us know if pets are on property.
