Your hosts are happy to help you explore the many sights, sounds, dining and adventures in our area, lots of visitor guides and books of local interest are located in the room. Trail’s End is also an animal rescue (501c3) and a welcoming place for all kinds of critters in need. We work with multiple shelters in the surrounding area to provide a foster home for all types of animals waiting for their forever home. There are always dogs to take for a walk and you never know what else might be on the property from chickens, ducks or, goats to turtles, tortoises, maybe even a donkey, pony or pig! We are members of the Texas Wildlife Association and also work with the Texas Butterfly Ranch to provide habitat for local and migrating species.

Guests have the Garden Studio to themselves with a separate, locked entrance is reached by going through the shared breezeway onto the back deck. Parking for guests is clearly marked in front of the breezeway. Guests are welcome to relax on the back deck, enjoy the many benches and nooks around the property and children enjoy playing in our little playground. uests are encouraged to explore the mowed areas of the property.
Safety First!
You might have noticed we’re a bit out in the sticks here at Trail’s End, but we want to make sure your visit is as safe as possible. The property is patrolled 24/7 by our highly trained Cat Security Guards, Lil’ Homey and Smokie. Any suspicious activity will be handled immediately. We also have security cameras at every entrance on the property.
Trail’s End is in a very rustic rural area.
Guest are welcome to explore the wooded areas of the property. Please be aware that you will encounter all manner of bugs, birds, snakes, spiders, scorpions, bees, wasps, stickers, cactus, razor grass, poison vines, spikey leaves, ankle breaking rocks and tripping stumps, just to name a few. You’ve been warned!
Trail’s End is an animal rescue. We have all types of animals waiting for their forever home. All the animals are in secure closures. Do not enter the enclosures without an escort.

Located near the hustle and bustle of San Marcos, however able to enjoy a slice of country quiet. Just 4 miles to the Bobcat Stadium, convenient access to the Outlet Malls and the beautiful San Marcos River. Approx. 37 min. to Austin and approx. 47 min to San Antonio.

Outside the apartment is a cozy shared (with another short-term rental, first come first serve basis) courtyard, featuring a full entertainment gazebo with solar lighting, two areas for grilling, two outdoor eating tables, ambiance, and enough room for yard games, and so much more!

Inside the 600 sq ft suite (above the Garage), the Texas Tranquility Suite provides and environment to feel right at home!

The living area includes a bar top table ready for either a quick breakfast or an intimate dinner time meal. Kitchen includes oven/stove, microwave, sink, full size refrigerator/freezer, toaster, and coffeemaker.

The main suite living area includes a queen-size tempur-pedic bed, a queen-size pull-out couch, and an area for an additional blow-up mattress (a twin blow up mattress is also included for your convenience). The 55 inch flat screen smart capability TV can be viewed from most angles within the suite. Want to finish that video or TV show you started, simply sign into your account and catch up!

Suite includes one full bath with a walk-in shower (please note: no tub).

Please be cautious when driving to and from the apartment. Due to being in the country we have an abundance of deer, critters, and natural wildlife that are very active.

SHARED COURTYARD: The shared courtyard area is outdoors that is fenced in. this courtyard is shared with another short term rental unit. Our property is across the street from over a 1000 acres. This allows our area to enjoy some much appreciated quiet and wildlife. We ask that if you eat or grill outside, when you discard your food and items in the garbage, you close the garbage lid down tight. Wildlife gets hungry too!!

BOOKING: We do not allow third party bookings. Therefore, the person making the reservation must be staying on the property as they are taking responsibility for the stay. Host reserves the right to require an established traveler account with positive reviews.

Photo ID may be required at check-in.

The easiest way to disrupt an enjoyable stay is a plumbing problem. To prevent this, we kindly ask you to please place things like sanitary napkins, paper towels and baby wipes in trash containers. Our sensitive pipes are on a strict diet of toilet paper and will throw up any other items.

No smoking allowed inside. A cleaning fee of up to $500 to remove odors and stains may be applied if evidence of smoking inside is found.

Pets are not allowed. Due to future travelers allergies, violations could result in a $500 cleaning fee for additional deep cleaning needs.

WEATHER / ACTS OF GOD: Host is not responsible for any weather conditions or acts of god or nature that happen during the travelers stay.

CAPACITY: To ensure all are comfortable, our Maximum Traveler Capacity is 4.

This studio is extremely well kept and offers a private entryway & parking and a large covered porch perfect for relaxing any time of the day or night. This secluded getaway is ideal for a couples retreat, but an available queen air mattress can accommodate another couple or the kiddos. Minutes from beautiful Canyon Lake and boat ramp #5 (free use) and Comal Park (fee) both offer boat ramps and an 18 hole Golf Course is across the street.

Custom features in architectural design and craftsmanship, from the ornate knotty alder cabinets to the travertine tiled shower, lend their appeal in providing a classy yet hill country warmth and charm. The studio has a King Ranch leather couch that pulls out to a Queen size sleeper, and the matching oversized love seat is equally comfortable and accommodating for a single sleeper. Also provided is a flat screen "Smart" TV with the extended package of cable channels and available access to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon movie networks.

This secluded property is situated on one acre of land and is snuggled behind the main residence. It is located on the 2nd floor (1st floor is storage area non-accessible) and has a covered private entry and its own private concrete drive and ample parking.

Because this studio is on a second story, safety must be observed at all times. The stair well is wide and has handrails, but it can be challenging for seniors and small children without assistance. The covered front porch offers loads of hill country views and is well protected with angle iron railing, but little ones should be directly supervised at all times on the porch. Cell phone coverage may be intermittent and really depends on the carrier, but WIFI is available on site, and a dedicated network securely supports the studio guests.

Other things to note
The hosts reside in a home about 75 ft from the guesthouse and have young children. In the warmer months, you may see/hear us building, gardening, and maintaining the grounds down below on occasion, but we give as much privacy as we can when we know guests are on-site. We cannot see guests on the deck of the guesthouse as it's surrounded by tall trees. We are happy to provide garden tours and harvest produce for your home-cooked meal when garden is producing and we offer sweet bath packages for a fee in the cooler months with salts, oils, and other enhancements.

The apartment is on the 2nd floor with no elevator.

This is the country. Please be aware that there may be a bug or two in your room on occasion and you may see animals if wandering the property. The Hill Country is home to scorpions, snakes, spiders, tarantulas, hogs, coyotes, deer, and other wild animals. We recommend headlamps or flashlights if walking the property at night. It can get very dark out here. Children of all ages are welcome, but NEED TO BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES. There is a 10-minute hike to a creek that flows seasonally with a gazebo for relaxing and listening to the small falls. You can even take a dip if you're inclined. Close-toed shoes and pants strongly encouraged for walking the property and please stay on pathways. Our property line is not fenced and the path will ensure you stay on our land.

We cannot accommodate trailers or boats on site unless you own a strong, 4 wheel drive truck. We have a steep decline into the property that is tricky to get out of when towing. Please, let us know if you will be bringing something like this. Access to the cabin is via gravel road with a some steep hills so drive slow and bring your SUV if you have one. Cars are capable of the drive, but will need to take it slow.

WE are also not far from Whitewater on the Horseshoe MusicVenue Canyon Lake Lake.

The Wild West room is sure to rope you in with its genuine charm and impressive river views! Wild West's private bath is outfitted with an antique copper soaking tub and separate stand-up shower. It has a king bed and a private balcony overlooking the river.
This room also has the ability to transform into a two-bedroom suite by connecting to the Homestead room.

The space
