The Space:

Guest Access:
This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with farmers, ranchers, and other property owners to offer unique outdoor accommodations on beautiful private land. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! You'll have the entire campsite to yourself, as you'll be the only Campers enjoying this piece of paradise.

Each campsite includes a 10'x12' safari-style canvas tent on a raised platform, and you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed inside (each site is different, see photos for the exact setup). Larger groups can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that’s provided (you’re welcome to bring your own camping gear too). You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night.

Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property.

If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper’s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!


Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. Line the bucket with a CleanWaste bag supplied at the camp (or another appropriate plastic bag) prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. We got this idea from bathrooms used on NASA spaceships, and we've used the Tentrr Loo countless times ourselves- don't worry!

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

Other Things to Note:
Do plan some time to hang out under the big Live Oaks in the hanging swing chairs. Do bring insect repellant. Do not let your pets just roam free, there is wildlife. Do check for Hays County Burn Ban. Don't drive on long grassy fields. Do watch for snakes and scorpions.

If you want to use a flushing toilet or need to cool down or warm up there is a lounge at the back of the dance hall you can use. It is the last door, closest to the property entrance at the back of the hall.

current burn ban! Twisted Oaks is located on 20 acres of tree lined Texas Hill Country nestled in the heart of San Marcos . We have 10 main campsites named white, purple, green, orange red, blue ,and yellow. White and yellow are the premier sites. White has a picnic table under a large oak tree mulch tent site table chairs and a beach lounger and a porcelain sink to wash hands or dishes. White as well as all sites has a rock lined fire pit. Yellow was the first site I built and has a large firepit surrounded by large boulders to sit on and enjoy the warmth Yellow also has a large oak tree to shade your tent site There is a large table and dry sink to wash dishes This is private Property for those of you who are new to hipcamp. This means you may or may not have other camping neighbors but the land is owner occupied. This is a NATURAL area with all that goes with that. We want people who still appreciate places that society has not destroyed. Please do not expect a KOA type place. This is San Marcos Texas, gateway to the hill country and full of all that the hill country offers. If you are new to this area I suggest doing some research or reaching out with your concerns. If you have toddlers please reach out for all question and concerns before you book. I take a lot of pride in the 34 years of work I have put into this land. We expect all our guests to treat her in kind. If you have a large group please be aware that you can rent adjacent camp sites to create one large venue for for family or friends. 20 acres allows for lots of options. Let me know what you are looking for and together we will make it work. The camp sites are well spaced to allow for privacy The theme and consistent thread that weaves through the fabric of camp is simplicity and attention to the land. We use rainwater for showers and flushing toilet and also have a composting porta john. The rules are simple if you pack it in pack it out. We discourage collecting of firewood. Snakes tend to hang out in brush piles and do not like to be disturbed. We sell firewood at a reasonable cost better than box store. If you want to recycle aluminum cans we have a bin for those Each campsite has a nice rock fire pit with an inner ring and cooking grates. We also provide a table. We have two new additions to camp. A 1968 Airstream that we will rent for $75 per night. Please inquire for booking details These are custom built units and are by no means meant to replace the amenities of a hotel room. The attraction would be privacy and country quiet.

The park covers almost 4,000 acres and includes a variety of habitats, including oak forests, grassy meadows, and wetlands. It is home to a wide range of plant and animal life, including many species of birds and native wildflowers.

The park entrance fee is $6 per camper per day, this will be charged at checkout.

The Guadalupe River is only 0.5 miles from this campsite - which is a convenient drive-up campground, and also has the park's bathroom and shower facilities nearby. The park has several miles of hiking trails, including a segment of the Guadalupe River Trail, which runs along the river and offers scenic views of the surrounding landscape.

The Guadalupe River is known for its clear, spring-fed waters and is popular for recreational activities such as fishing, swimming, and tubing. The park covers almost 4,000 acres and includes a variety of habitats, including oak forests, grassy meadows, and wetlands. It is home to a wide range of plant and animal life, including many species of birds and native wildflowers.

If you are looking to book more than 1 tent, while sites C and D offer seclusion, there is a walking path between the two. Each site must be booked separately.

The park entrance fee is $6 per camper per day, this will be charged at checkout.

Site E is our closest site to the Guadalupe River! It is a very short distance walk away. This gorgeous State Park is located in the Hill Country of Texas, just northwest of San Antonio. Site E is closer to the rest of the Park's campgrounds and offers nearby restroom facilities, and shower facilities too, but those are a little farther away from the site.

Please note that Site E is not a direct drive-up campsite. You will park your car at the designated parking lot and then walk about 2-3 minutes to Site E.

We only have one unit here, so come be our exclusive guests. Drive down our road through trees and cattle fields and stay on the edge of the woods in a pocket of privacy. Our property is full of mature elm and oak trees. We have 7 acres of park like trails cut and mowed throughout the property. We protect our wildlife habitats so wild turkey, wild hogs, whitetail deer, raccoons, armadillos, hummingbirds, Robins, egrets, painted buntings, and red tail and red shoulder hawks are on the property.

The space
You will have complete access to a 40ft RV with 4 slide outs, providing ample inside space. Furnished with a futon and comfy microfiber recliner. Enjoy iron, ironing board, lounge chairs, hammock and more. There is a pocket of trees with bamboo privacy fencing that create a wilderness atmosphere that will have you relaxing in no time.

Other things to note
RV has 2 AC units that can be adjusted. Zone 1 is living room Zone 2 is bedroom. Adjust each as you’d like. The only heat sources are from the faux fireplace in the living room and the extra tower heater in the bedroom. The PROPANE is DISABLED for use in the RV for precautions with children. This also means the oven is NOT operational. Inside there’s a 2-burner electric range, a microwave and a personal gas grill outside.

House shoes are recommended in the unit during colder nights. While the air can be maintained warm the floor naturally stays colder. Some warm socks or house shoes are just recommended for your comfort.

It is an airstream so it can feel a bit snug. But since I renovated it to make it feel spacious with open shelving, and big windows for natural light, it provides enough room for a comfortable stay for 4 people.

This camper has a king size bed , a sleeper sofa , as well as 2 bunks and another sleeper sofa in the rear of the camper for an extra bed in the camper the dining room table is also able to be transformed into another bed

The campsite has a onsite laundry room as well as showers and restrooms that are very clean and well maintained

The site offers free access to the river and is an easy walk with concrete walkway leading all the way down to the river

ice and firewood are available onsite and can be bought at the front office

Tube Rentals as well as Shuttles are in walking distance next door. There is also a bar and grill next-door that has a live band most weekends
