The Butler Cabin and Willie Mae's Cottage are both part of the Homestead at the Dripping Springs and can be reserved at the same time to sleep 8 people.
The property contains the original dripping springs for which the town was named. The Homestead is centrally located in the Historic Mercer Street District of Dripping Springs, close to shops, wedding venues, wine trails, parks and beautiful country roads.

Guests make themselves at home at Clara's House furnished with many antiques and reminders of early Texas. The house is a State Historical Landmark and is on the National Register. Relax on the porch with your coffee or under the shade of the giant oak fenced corral where a swing, table and chairs and washer pitching remind you of days gone by. Steps lead you to the original dripping spring. Two bedrooms are available: the master with 12 foot ceiling, is furnished with a queen sized East Lake bed and dresser; and the smaller, rock walled bedroom with a handcrafted wardrobe contains a queen size antique bed. We have a big, fluffy dog named Lenna. While she has never been inside the casita, she occasionally goes out to run around for few minutes in the shared yard. She's very friendly with all people, has never barked or growled at a person, and she's a hit with our Airbnb guests who happen to see her! She'll probably be too busy chasing squirrels to notice you, but feel free to call her over to pet or play if you’d like!

If you are uncomfortable around dogs, please just let me know, and I will make sure she stays out of the yard during your whole stay.

Proceed straight to the back through the gate. The gate will be unlocked. If you're arriving at night, we have motion sensor lights back there to guide your way to the door. To unlock the door to the guest house, we will provide you with a code the morning of check in.

Other things to note
The main house may be occupied with another guest while you are there. Its a big shared yard and you will have complete privacy from those guests.

We charge no pet fee and never will. The home owner and property managers often travel with their pets. Please see the house rules for our rules around pets.

Come to our modern farmhouse in Austin. It is close to S Congress, S Lamar, and 1.5 miles to Lady Bird Lake. You’ll love this location b/c of the proximity to the Festivals Austin is known for. SXSW, ACL, Bat Watching, great dining and shopping. 7 miles to the airport. Walkability of the area makes daytime exploring easy, and evenings are surprisingly peaceful. Score 87 and growing!

Traveling with friends or family, there are TWO rentals on the property.

The space
The house is nestled behind another home on the same lot. It does not sit on the street, so it is very quiet. If traveling with friends or family, both houses can be rented. The two houses share the outdoor space, except the pool! The pool area is a quiet area for the front house guests only. No loud stereos. It is surrounded by other homes and peoples bedrooms! We want all to enjoy the area peacefully. Please do not leave food or beverages outside! Thank you for understanding the rules!

The space
Historic Landmark Designated former carriage house from early 1920's has been converted into a funky & open Loft space. It is comfortable and full of Austin charm! It has a spiral staircase painted subtly with holographic car flakes (glittered). Queen bed upstairs lower has a Skandinavian convertible sofa/bed, single Daybed & a flip chair.
Basic but full kitchen,shower, basic toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, hair dryer, & towels) are provided. The Rock Carriage is located by the driveway on the Ramona St. side or the backside of my home.
My yard is a Certified Wildlife habitat. A small patio in front is a perfect place to hang out in the morning while enjoying a cup of coffee and the Texas sun (before it gets too hot!). You will have full privacy here and your own Keyless entrance into the property.

Easy to get around all the historic music locations by walking or on the bus line! Downtown area, UT Campus, and Capital building very close attractions as well! You are literally super close to everything awesome that Austin has to offer and will be staying in one of the coolest neighborhoods in town!
All linens are washed on "Sanitize" in a LG steam washer with organic soaps. No use of pesticides are used on my property. This a green home, so I encourage you to make use of my recycle bins and be respectful to the environment.
Coming to Austin for one of the many Marathons? Lady Bird Lake (Colorado River) and our great jogging trail are only 5 blocks away. Quickly WALK to Zilker Park, home of Barton Springs Pool and the Austin City Limits Music Festival!

The space
This bright, modern, vaulted ceiling standalone unit is located behind the main house on a quiet Cherrywood street. Walk to the unit via a locked gate down a path for easy, secure access. On entering, you see everything you’ll need: bed, folding desk/nightstand, kitchen (with four burner range and full-sized fridge), bistro table, full bathroom and large closet. Climb the ladder to access the loft featuring a sofa for reading, or for extra guests, and the washer/dryer unit.

Other things to note
The unit is fine for 1-2 people for short and long stays, but for 3-4 people, a stay beyond a long weekend is probably not a great idea. No one under the age of 12, the loft ladder is too tempting and if you have difficulty climbing, recommend against sleeping on the loft bed.

Parking is easy on the main driveway or free & easy street parking.

Brand new Swedish modern haven - perfect home base to explore Austin. Walk to downtown and East Side venues, food trucks, bars, shuttles, bike path and Town Lake. Sleeps 4, nice front porch for breakfast and happy hour, wifi, central heat/air, quiet block, washer/dryer. Gorgeous wood interior, sweeping ceilings with a skylight for tree viewing and daydreaming. Private alleyway entrance with dedicated off-street parking space; secure, keypad entry. Many amenities!

The space
So, I had this idea for a tree house on the ground in my backyard...and that's what I got. The vaulted ceilings are this beautiful light pine, with a ginormo skylight and peek-a-boo gable windows to frame the tippy tops of my backyard pecan trees. The kitchen walls are made of the 1939 cedar shiplap planks I removed from my kitchen a few years ago. Real, hardwood flooring throughout (except the bathroom.) Bathroom walls of the light pine - like a Swedish spa.

The roofed front porch has a bistro table and chairs - with a layered view of my little corner of the East Side, it's the perfect setting for your morning coffee or your happy hour beer. (Both included.)

There's a full kitchen with rustic ceramic tile counters and a brand new stainless steel fridge and gas oven, complete with Le Creuset cookware. Tea kettle, drip coffee maker, french press, ZeroWater filter pitcher, microwave, toaster, immersion blender, etc. Kitchen is always stocked with a few beers, some sparkling water, coffee, tea, granola, milk and some fruit. Maybe a few granola bars or trail mix too. There are endless delicious places to eat within walking distance, but if cooking's your thing, you'll be all set.

The bed situation:
- 1 luxurious, queen-sized EcoCloud Hybrid mattress by Winkbeds on a real wood platform bed frame built by a local Austin woodworker. (Look up that mattress and check out the reviews.)
- 1 sofa that converts to a queen-sized bed. I freaking HATE 98% of all pull out couch mattresses so I went with the IKEA Friheten that uses the firm couch cushions instead of a janky fold up faux mattress. Once the foam topper and mattress pad are on, you really can't tell the difference between it and a high end real mattress. I highly recommend.
- Pillow concierge - OK, not really, but I'm always having a problem with other people's pillows so I decided to go all Golidlocks here and get three different sets: freaky thin, medium, and criminally fat. Surely one will be right for you.
- The softest sheets you will ever have felt. Seriously.
- Please note: If you need black out curtains and midnight-dark for sleeping, this isn't your casita. There are blinds on all the eye-level windows, but there's a large skylight in the ceiling and gable windows with no covering.

The bathroom, with natural black slate tile flooring and hand-crafted Brazilian wood counter, comes equipped with my favorite organic shampoo, conditioner and body gel, as well as wash clothes, hair dryer and a place to put your toothbrush. I can confidently say it's the cutest little porcelain galley sink you will ever have seen. And lots of hooks!

The pantry has brand new fancy full washer and dryer that you are welcome to use.

There is a big flat screen TV with broadcast channels, Netflix and HBO Go. TV mount has extending arms so you can watch from the bed or the living area - and only one remote!

Storage: One of my frustrations with other Airbnb places I've stayed is that there were never enough places to put my stuff. So, I went a little storage crazy. I've installed clothing and coat hooks wherever I could, there's a closet with hanging cubbies, hangers and two luggage racks so you don't have to kneel on the floor to find your socks.

Random, and yet helpful or fun, amenities:
- entry way iPhone/iPad charging station equipped with two lightening cables
- a few different maps - bike, bus system, tourist
- Texas Monthly's famous edition that lists the best barbecue places in Austin/Texas
- Board games like Scrabble and Pictionary and cards
- A collection of books by Texas authors

Guest access
The casita is all yours - there is a private, alleyway entrance gate and a gate that separates my yard from the casita. Privacy for everyone! I have electronic key pad locks, so no keys, just a code.

If you have a car, you have your own, off-street parking place right next to the entry gate.

Easy SXSW/ACL access: Relax in Central ATX just 2m to DT. Large PVT 1 BD/BA Studio w/ own entrance & huge porch w/ pool view. Kitchenette, lounge & dining, ensuite BA, w/d. Vast, park-like yard, on-site gym, pool, grill, & basket/volley/pickle ball court. Walk to Lady Bird Lk, TX Row Ctr, Zilker Park, Deep Eddy, Maudies, & HEB.

We live in main house w/ 3 friendly dogs but give our guests privacy. 1 caveat: our Labrador WILL WANT to swim w/ you, so if that's not your vibe, maybe not a fit :-)

The space
A park with your own private bed/bath & entrance in the middle of it :-) Swim, play foosball, grill, work-out, and chill in the vast backyard beneath sprawling Live Oaks; spin bike, erg, or lift in the on-site gym; or jump on the Johnson Creek Trail a block away and head down to Lady Bird Lake, the Ann & Roy Butler Hike & Bike Trail, and all that downtown ATX has to offer.

You'll have a comfortable queen sized bed with new mattress (2023) in a huge room with vaulted ceilings and it's own thermostat that's separate from the main house. Includes TV, dining area, lounge area, dedicated workspace, side chairs, kitchenette with fridge, ice-maker, microwave, and coffee maker as well as en-suite bath with walk-in shower and a washer & drier.

Access is through your own "front door" off a huge porch with an outdoor living and dining areas, foosball table, and convenient access to the on-site gym - it's a perfect place for sipping your morning coffee (or happy hour "margarita" - we make a batch pretty much every evening, and if you're around, we'd be happy to send one your way.)

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TWO NOTES:
1) This property opens directly on our backyard. Although our backyard is completely fenced, our pool inside the yard does not have its own fence. For this reason, we require that all guests be at least 12 years of age AND able to tread water for 1 minute AND able to swim unaided for 12 meters. There is no lifeguard on duty.

2) We have three super friendly dogs, but they are BIG dogs (one lab, one boxer mix, and one bull mastiff.) We will make every effort to keep them away from you during your time with us if that is your wish, but nonetheless if you are not a dog fan, we wish you the best and kindly request that you book elsewhere.

Guest access
The pool, full-sized sport court, foosball table, outdoor grill, on-site gym, and huge yard are yours to enjoy. If we have some fun guests vibing in our other listing (Central ATX Oasis-PVT BR & ENT), you'll likely see them around the property too. You might also encounter us (my husband, me, and one of our three teens) and perhaps one of our three friendly dogs if you're a fan, but out goal is for you to feel at home in our home, and if you'd rather us give you your space, no worries, it's a big property with plenty of space for one and all to do their own thing.

There's a parking spot for you waiting in our three car driveway, so come on down. We can't wait to meet you!

We have three friendly dogs! Aussie (a yellow lab), Georgia (a boxer mix), and Juno (our baby, a gorgeous bull mastiff.) They mostly live inside, and if you're wary of dogs, no worries, but please let us know so we can keep them inside while you are enjoying the property.
