The Bunkhouse, as it's called, had everything we needed to keep us comfy and cozy. We enjoyed many hours swimming in the pool and relaxing on the patio surrounded by palm trees and cactus just as pretty as any fancy resort I've been to. At night we enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the Sonora Desert sunsets and listen to animal sounds. The hosts were just as wonderful. I wanted this trip to be fun, relaxing, and educational for my grandson as we all explored this wonderful part of the world, and The Bunkhouse property was integral part in making that happen. Facing east, you will wake up facing the sun rising over the Catalina Mountains.

A few feet away across the covered breezeway, the other half of the Glass Cottage contains the fully equipped kitchen with beautiful tiled countertops; a custom-designed trestle oak dining (or work) table, with 6 chairs; a writing desk; a Danish swivel reading chair and Damson reading lamp; and a flip-down sofa, ideal for an afternoon nap or watching Netflix (provided). Facing west, you'll be treated to the sun setting over the Tucson Mountains as you prepare dinner.

Tucson Glass Cottage shares 3.3 acres with only the owner's residence, some 100 yards away and oriented to ensure privacy for both homes. The Cottage is accessed by a private gravel road, shared only by the owner's home. The acreage is in the center of a group of 6 similarly large plots, far from traffic.

Both shopping and and the magnificent Saguaro National Park are less than 5 minutes away, and it's an easy drive into downtown or the university area. This is the perfect spot for an individual or couple seeking real tranquility and a touch of luxury in a magical desert setting.

Very comfortable place to stay a few days. We were close to the university and the neighborhood was really nice. Additionally, there is a variety of wildlife with towering Saguaros on the property. Grocery shopping, drug stores and restaurants are short distance away. Downtown Tucson and the University of Arizona located about 20 minutes drive from the Desert Casa.
The Casa is about 800 square feet providing 3 rooms. A modern fully equipped kitchen, plus the spacious sitting and eating areas make up the great room. Large flat screen HD/TV and DVD player with a large supply of movies are provided. The separate bedroom has a Queen size bed, small fireplace and desk and closet. A bath off the bedroom features a shower.
The natural desert area provides a backyard fire pit, sitting areas and a panorama view of the desert and the Catalina Mountains. Out the front are views of the Rincon Mountains.

This property features 6 exterior security cameras: camera 1 faces the entry gate and main parking area, camera 2 faces the south parking area, camera 3 faces the southeast backyard grill area and jacuzzi, camera 4 faces the tortoise pen on the southwest corner of the backyard, camera 5 faces the northwest fountain area, and camera 6 faces the front yard and entry door for the main home. The cameras are outward facing and do not look into interior spaces. The cameras actively record video and sound when activated by motion

All proceeds from the Cottage support the conservation of Sanctuary Cove.

- "I wanted to end our vacation in a place I could just relax and not leave and boy was this it. It was only available for 4 nights so it did leave us wanting a full week for next time. The image of the amazing veranda had captured my attention and I did spend hours & hours there, interspersed with short walks (had a sprained ankle) and photo ops. The house is perfectly laid out with everything in it's place and clean and functional as well as warm & cozy. I love the old territorial brick cottages which are well suited to the environment. Alison the property manager was extremely responsive as well as a lovely person to deal with. Overall, one of the very best rental experiences we've had and can't wait to return."
