The Bunkhouse, as it's called, had everything we needed to keep us comfy and cozy. We enjoyed many hours swimming in the pool and relaxing on the patio surrounded by palm trees and cactus just as pretty as any fancy resort I've been to. At night we enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the Sonora Desert sunsets and listen to animal sounds. The hosts were just as wonderful. They were very friendly and checked in with us several times to be sure we had everything we needed. I wanted this trip to be fun, relaxing, and educational for my grandson as we all explored this wonderful part of the world, and The Bunkhouse property was integral part in making that happen. Facing east, you will wake up facing the sun rising over the Catalina Mountains.

A few feet away across the covered breezeway, the other half of the Glass Cottage contains the fully equipped kitchen with beautiful tiled countertops; a custom-designed trestle oak dining (or work) table, with 6 chairs; a writing desk; a Danish swivel reading chair and Damson reading lamp; and a flip-down sofa, ideal for an afternoon nap or watching Netflix (provided). Facing west, you'll be treated to the sun setting over the Tucson Mountains as you prepare dinner.

Tucson Glass Cottage shares 3.3 acres with only the owner's residence, some 100 yards away and oriented to ensure privacy for both homes. The Cottage is accessed by a private gravel road, shared only by the owner's home. The acreage is in the center of a group of 6 similarly large plots, far from traffic.

Both shopping and and the magnificent Saguaro National Park are less than 5 minutes away, and it's an easy drive into downtown or the university area. This is the perfect spot for an individual or couple seeking real tranquility and a touch of luxury in a magical desert setting.

Very comfortable place to stay a few days. We were close to the university and the neighborhood was really nice. Additionally, there is a variety of wildlife with towering Saguaros on the property. Grocery shopping, drug stores and restaurants are short distance away. Downtown Tucson and the University of Arizona located about 20 minutes drive from the Desert Casa.
The Casa is about 800 square feet providing 3 rooms. A modern fully equipped kitchen, plus the spacious sitting and eating areas make up the great room. Large flat screen HD/TV and DVD player with a large supply of movies are provided. The separate bedroom has a Queen size bed, small fireplace and desk and closet. A bath off the bedroom features a shower.
The natural desert area provides a backyard fire pit, sitting areas and a panorama view of the desert and the Catalina Mountains. Out the front are views of the Rincon Mountains.

- "I wanted to end our vacation in a place I could just relax and not leave and boy was this it. It was only available for 4 nights so it did leave us wanting a full week for next time. The image of the amazing veranda had captured my attention and I did spend hours & hours there, interspersed with short walks (had a sprained ankle) and photo ops. The house is perfectly laid out with everything in it's place and clean and functional as well as warm & cozy. I love the old territorial brick cottages which are well suited to the environment. Alison the property manager was extremely responsive as well as a lovely person to deal with. Overall, one of the very best rental experiences we've had and can't wait to return."

Wake up to the Sanoran Desert in the middle of 7.4 acres. Pour yourself a coffee and watch the sunrise over the Rincon Mountains and 550,000 acres of wilderness. Work out in the weight-training room before taking off for a day of exploring. Across the road are short, gentle hikes and multi-day backpacking trails up into the mountains. Do you bike? Tucson offers well over 100 miles of paved, mostly level bike paths in and around town and countless more challenging rides and unending single track trails. When you're tuckered out, head back to your casita for a hot shower, pour a drink, and sit on the West side of the house and watch the sunset over the Tucson Mountains. Put a match to the fire in the chiminea and you'll warm up as the desert cools down. A good night's sleep in the cozy casita and you'll be ready for more adventures!

La Casita is nestled on 2.3 secluded acres next to the Coronado National Forest. The comfortable vintage cottage has good light and sweeping views of the foothills and woodlands around it. A beautiful garden and various outdoor sitting areas provide relaxing places to enjoy quiet nature and many species of birds who live there. The Oracle Ridge trailhead to Mt. Lemmon is just a 5-minute walk from the house. These features and more are what make your stay at La Casita so enjoyable and special.

Description of the property:
The cottage is far from the road among the oak trees and native desert vegetation. This private place is ideal for those who want a natural environment to relax and revive in. It is excellent as a retreat or place to work.

The house works well as a remote working space. It is laptop-friendly with two large tables, comfortable office chairs, and easily accessible outlets. The excellent, reliable wifi - 20 meg, is the highest speed available in the area. Streaming movies is not a problem. Many guests have used La Casita as a remote workplace in the last few years and we have rave reviews. The house has a very quiet undisturbed atmosphere that is good for focused work.

La Casita has the charm of a real home, it is vintage with an eclectic artistic flavor. The cottage is all about comfort with good seating in the sunny living room with its beautiful views of the National Forest. A compact kitchen is complete with all you need for creating simple tasty meals. For the rest, the house is LOW tech, there is a radio that receives local stations, but no TV.

There are sleeping arrangements for 2 persons. The double bed in the bedroom has a view of the sunrise shining on the mountain and the couch in the living room makes up into a comfortable full-sized bed for one person.

A special feature of the property is the beautiful large 'Butterfly Garden' with shade trees and arid plants that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Here you will want to relax in the swing or sit at the table under the trees. There are several sitting areas around the cottage with different views that offer shade or sun depending on the time of day or season. In the evening the garden is lit and becomes a magical inviting place to enjoy. Gorgeous sunsets can be seen from the house and the night skies are perfect for stargazing. Oracle is in a 'Dark Skies Zone' and from its hillside, the house overlooks the dark expansive National Forest.

The most important aspect of La Casita is the experience of quiet serenity and connection to nature. The ever-changing views of the foothills as the sun moves across them, the birds that fly in and out of the garden calling to each other, and the delicate occasional sound of the wind chimes connect one with nature. The peaceful privacy creates a unique energy that makes La Casita so special.

Birders will be happy with the many species around the bird feeder (bird food is supplied). Wildlife such as coyotes, javelinas, deer, rabbits, and bobcats come close to the house often to drink from the water station.

Oracle is a haven for hikers, there are many trails in the area that offer amazing adventures and scenery. The Oracle Ridge trailhead that goes to the top of Mt. Lemmon is five minutes walk from the house and definitely advised. Also, the Oracle State Park, 5 minutes by car, has wonderful trails that look out over the San Pedro Valley and Galiuro Mountains. Catalina State Park with spectacular lower desert scenery and trails is 20 minutes away, and much more is available in the area.

Guest Access
In addition to the house, guests are encouraged to explore the large private yard and enjoy the gardens and wooded areas that surround the house with the many different sitting areas. You will feel complete privacy and peace in all the areas.

Once you have been greeted and introduced to the house by Chuck the caretaker you are left to enjoy the quiet privacy of La Casita. Chuck lives nearby and is available for help or information if needed. and of course, you can message me as well.

Guests will enjoy the peaceful cottage getaway in the Catalina Foothills. This unit has a ductless A/C & heating system and a tankless electric water heater. The password to high-speed wifi is provided. There is a UHD TV pre-loaded with streaming apps such as Apple TV, HBO, Netflix and Amazon Prime. Simply logon to your favorite streaming apps. Driveway parking is nearby but oversized vehicles cannot be accommodated. Small dogs OK, no cats. There is a private above-ground pool but it is not heated, so it is only available seasonally as weather permits.

These are 3+ acre lots - not in the city this is in the county so you will see wildlife. No noise.
Please note this is a guest house on the same property as the main house. The guest house yard shares a fence with the main yard and pool area so please be aware of the lack of privacy between yards. See photos for reference. There is plenty of parking and trailer parking.

There is a guard German Shepherd dog on site in secured yard that shares a fence with the casita yard. 3 nice covered horse stalls available as well as a 50A plug in with water and a sewer dump on site. Respectful and obedient pets accepted.
Wifi is not 100% reliable due to location so please have a hotspot backup if necessary. Cox has at least one outage a month.
There are no cameras on the guest house. There is a camera on the corner of the main house that does have a view of the parking area.

We live on 1.5 acres of beautiful desert with natural vegetation including many majestic saguaros, yet close to everything including restaurants and shopping. There is room on the property to accommodate trailer parking as well as a 50A plug in at additional rates. This is a rural location - 5+ acres with wildlife so please beware. 3 brand new horse stalls available for use as well. Less than 2 miles from Saguaro National Monument East - horseback ride, hike, etc. No dishwasher. New BBQ. Big back yard. Located near B&B Cactus Farm on Speedway.

These are 3+ acre lots - not in the city this is in the county so you will see wildlife. No noise.
Please note this is a guest house on the same property as the main house. The guest house yard shares a fence with the main yard and pool area so please be aware of the lack of privacy between yards. See photos for reference. There is plenty of parking and trailer parking.

There is a guard German Shepherd dog on site in secured yard that shares a fence with the casita yard. 3 nice covered horse stalls available as well as a 50A plug in with water and a sewer dump on site. Respectful and obedient pets accepted.
Wifi is not 100% reliable due to location so please have a hotspot backup if necessary. Cox has at least one outage a month.
There are no cameras on the guest house. There is a camera on the corner of the main house that does have a view of the parking area.

It is on the eastern end of Tucson and country enough to give us stunning starry nights, great darkness and quiet for sleep in a wonderfully comfortable bed, fabulous access to excellent hiking and still just a very short Uber drive to go to restaurants and brew pubs. We hiked evert day of the month we stayed there so were grateful for the washer and dryer that were part of our rental! The shower was great. We found the kitchen to be perfectly equipped for our needs. We had no problems with the internet or tv reception. We will miss the beautiful view, privacy, gardens and wildlife. Jessica was kind, informative and responded immediately to the few questions we had. Perfect!"
