Beautiful 1500 sq feet cottage on 1/2 acre. This is a new cabin/ cottage on 1/2 acre. Lots of trees, fire pit, Classic video game with over 80 games. Great for small families. Beds for 6 if needed but perfect for a small family. 3 miles from downtown, 3 miles from Snowbowl. Small pets are allowed for a fee. This is in a very private area surrounded by million dollar homes. Must be 25 or older to rent.There is a separate entrance for 1st floor and second floor.like having to separate apartments First floor up the stairs has a queen bed in master and pullout queen couch in living room. Second floor which you enter thru garage has a queen over full adult bunk bed large studio set up. So if you have young children you might not be comfortable with them sleeping by themselves down stairs.We do charge based on amount of people staying so please enter correct amount of children and adults so we dont have a problem when checking in. - "A wonderful bit of property with a fenced in backyard so our dogs could roam around a bit. The whole upstairs is perfect for a couple and the downstairs has plenty of room for more guests. The kitchen had a great amount of cooking ware and utensils. The cabinets were stocked with enough salt and pepper for a couple years, lol. It also had an assortment of seasonings and spices." - "Everything was exactly as we wanted. A place for our dog and kids to have a good time. We weren't able to ski due to the wind so we enjoyed the extra time we had in this beautiful home. We can't wait to stay here again!"

Nestled deep in cool Coconino National Forest between the Grand Canyon (56 miles) and Flagstaff's Snow Bowl (19 miles). You choose whether to nest in the cozy cottage or explore the adjacent woods and trails.
Hunters will be in AZ Fish and Game Unit 7E. November, December and January generally closed due to snow. If you can independently handle bad roads and lots of snow, inquire about desired dates.
Home is off the grid: electric power comes from solar panels, propane for cooking and heating. The rain water collected for washing and flushing is non-potable. Drinking water is stocked. AT&T and Verizon users get a signal . . . but you can always turn your phone off. There is secure WiFi.
You'll need a sturdy vehicle (pickup or 4 wheel drive recommended) to travel the seven miles of dirt road. The drive is slow but provides lovely vistas and opportunities to spot deer, elk and antelope.
Sleeps up to 6: 1 queen bed, bunk beds, futon and hide-a-bed in the couch. Linens and cookware are provided.
Don't trust "What's Nearby" Google often directs guests to a similarly named street inside the City of Flagstaff.

- "We loved the property size and location. So quiet in the neighborhood, except for the dogs off in the distance howling every morning like clock work. We didn’t mind though. It was nice opening the windows and watching the storms roll through. Nice eating out on the patio. Solar panels for electricity was an adjustment for us, but our host was very responsive and clear on instructions for starting the generator. Beautiful view of Humphreys peak. Long dirt drive from the main road, but was well maintained and had beautiful views and occasional wildlife. Would most definitely stay again in the future! In addition to the 3 Cottages, our Estate also has a 4-story Mansion and a 1BR Studio Suite for rent. That's 5 rentals total and they can be rented separately or as a group, whatever you need!

The grounds here are incredibly serene and beautiful, with amazing mountain views, outdoor seating areas, as well as grassy play areas, cascading rock waterfall and our Sedona Red Rock fire pit. We have free parking on site and we're convenient to everything in town.

"I don’t think there’s enough space to recount all the amazing things about this cottage. It makes sense why it (the whole property) can also be used as a wedding venue. The scenery seemed like something out of a fairy tale, deer included! The leaves were changing, the weather was chilly and rainy, nature was abundant and thriving. The cottage was clean and tidy, it was so comfortable and cozy with the cutest decorations like little succulents and marble coasters. There was even a charming warmer that looked like a
fireplace. All the amenities we needed were provided to us by the hosts. It can
comfortably accommodate 4 adults if necessary. There is a small nook in the wall that would be the perfect hideaway to do homework or read or just be alone. We didn’t get to plan to use the fire pit but it would have been perfect for the cool weather. The hosts were readily available and as friendly and inviting as can be. There is a Walmart 5 driving minutes away, a convenience store, and even a park and skate park! The views look like something out of a Bob Ross painting - surreal! My only regret was having to leave this
amazing place. This was the best vacation rental I have ever stayed at and I plan to return as soon as possible!"

Everything in beautiful historic flagstaff is a walk away. The cottage was more than sufficiently furnished and tidy. We actually got to talk to one of the owners and he was a really friendly guy, and made sure that we had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the atmosphere was relaxing.The only thing was when we got there, it was very late and the gate to the courtyard was a little tricky to find but it’s to the left of the diner building. Late at night it can get pretty rowdy along the street but it’s far back enough from the road to feel away from it all. 10/10 would recommend this location!"

Rustic style small studio in the backyard of the owner's house. It is a stand-alone structure with a separate entrance and independent utilities control, not connected with the owner's residence. No other guests share this space. The owners live in the main house and control the area of the premises.
It is a nice place in a quiet neighborhood located two miles from Flagstaff downtown, less than a mile from the National Forest and Buffalo Park, very close to the shopping center, restaurants and Flagstaff Medical Center.
The studio has a refrigerator, air conditioner/heater, microwave, coffee maker, electric stove, teapot and all necessary kitchen stuff. Also, we provide guests with some essential food and bath supplies and extra bedding for the roll-on-bed.
Our nice outside patio is suitable for meals and relaxation if weather permits.
The check-in procedure is simple — the door to the cabin will be open for you, and you will find the keys inside the unit.
Please park your car in the pink gravel driveway along the metal fence on the right side of the property. The door to the backyard is straight before you and it will be open too.

However, Uber and Taxis will service this neighborhood as well, ask them to park at the top of the street so they don't get stuck. There is no public transportation nearby. The airport is one exit north of this neighborhood off of I-17.

Our cancellation policy states that a 100% refund will be given up to 30 days before arrival, and 50% refund up to 14 days before arrival. Please note that 4% of any cancellation will be withheld to cover credit card processing fees.
Pet Policy: Pets are allowed with a paid pet fee of $65 for up to a 4 night stay with a maximum of two dogs, no cats. Fees can be higher for longer stays. Please message us for rates.

Supervision and Behavior: Please refrain from leaving your dog unattended inside the home, especially if they tend to be loud or have a tendency to be destructive. We want to maintain a peaceful environment for all guests.

Backyard Enjoyment: Your pet is more than welcome to enjoy the backyard space. Feel free to let them run and play. However, we kindly ask that you clean up after them promptly to keep the area clean and pleasant for all.

Clean-Up Supplies: For your convenience, we've provided bags and a scooper to assist you in cleaning up any messes your pet may make. Proper disposal of waste is important to us, so please use these supplies when needed.
Leash Requirement: When your dog is outside of the house or yard area, they must be leashed at all times. This is to ensure their safety and the safety of other guests and neighbors.

The property can get snowy/icy in the winter. You are accessing the property at your own risk. The path and stairs up to the guest house can get wet/snowy/icy. Also, if it snows days before your stay or during your stay the roads will get plowed however you may need 4 wheel drive or tire chains in order to safely traverse the roads.

Air Conditioning in the summer - Portable AC available for the hottest part of the summer. Primary source of cooling, though, is the cool nighttime air. We send instructions on how to cool the home efficiently.

Heat in the winter - Central A/C furnace. Fireplace provides some heat but is mainly aesthetic.

Please read the ALL the detailed descriptions we provide to make sure our cottage is a good match for you. And feel free to ask questions about the train or location. You will love this space if a vacation rental for you means: a cute, clean, affordable space with a yard that is close to everything, but an upscale neighborhood is not a priority. Also if you love having outdoor spaces to enjoy, unique decor, walking/cycling to town, a sense of community and history, an authentic experience while traveling, antiquing, trains, independent coffee shops and breweries, hiking and exploring and being close to everything the city has to offer but having green space. The cottage is SMALL and cozy but has a fully equipped kitchen, natural light in every room, squeaky original Ponderosa Pine floors, claw foot tub, vintage decor, all new windows and is South facing; great for winter sunshine. For summer guests there are fans indoors and awnings, some shade trees in the garden. Also a shaded picnic table and area as well as the large deck.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
Not suitable for children under 2 year of age due to the need to respect the quiet enjoyment of the guests in the adjoining cottages.
The train goes by above on the hillside above the house, regularly and day and night. The engine is noisy and the breaks do screech on some trains. (Not really an issue in Winter with the windows closed.)Trains are a regular feature in Flagstaff, especially in Historic Downtown. Just like anywhere in Downtown, if you are outside when the train goes by, the noise will interrupt your conversation. Many guests have slept well - see reviews but some people will be bothered by the trains at night, especially in summer with the windows open. For Summer guests: Earplugs recommended/Using a fan by the bed is very helpful. Fans provided in every room) Flagstaff folk are used to the train and living in a busy hub with millions of visitors per year. But other than a passing train, the street is surprisingly quiet for the inner city, especially the Cul De Sac (Dead End) which has low traffic. Be mindful of kids playing in the street!
Summer guests: please note there is no air conditioning. Mornings are cool but Sweat Pea gets the morning sun so, early in the morning, close the windows to trap the cool air inside, keep blinds down/curtains drawn and use fans until later in the day when things cool down again. Or head out to wonderful Downtown/the forest/the mountains for the hot part of the day.
We do not provide TV but super fast WIFI internet so bring your gadgets! Or hook into Flag LIVE, the local free press, or Flagstaff365 online.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD
This is a friendly, diverse inner-city neighborhood close to everything where old homes are being torn down to build apartments and historic preservation is sadly missing. Don't expect a manicured residential area but homes and businesses mixed in together. NAU is a couple of blocks away. We share this pocket of town with businesses, students, families and a collection of mid-century motels, 2 blocks away on nearby Route 66. The cottage is in the oldest part of town which pre-dates Downtown. There is a community ballpark half way down the street. At the beginning of our street you'll find Natural Grocers, Haven Montessori School, Matador Coffee and nearby Barnes and Noble. While this is an urban getaway, the forested hillside above the house makes it feel more like the country. You can walk to Flagstaff's award winning Himalayan Grill, (All you can eat Indian lunch buffet $8.99) Not to be missed. Also walking distance; Mike & Rhonda's is a popular down-home, affordable breakfast spot. Sweet Pea Cottage is walking distance to Downtown Flagstaff, particularly the newly revitalized South-side district known for unique funky eateries and bars. At the end of our street, cross Milton/Route 66, and turn down Mike’s Pike and you’ll find The Toasted Owl for a more relaxed truly Funky Flagstaff breakfast or lunch on the patio or inside. Mother Road Brewing company is across the street from the Toasted owl. Fratelli's Pizza and Beaver Street Brewery, both highly recommended, are around the corner. Walking in the opposite direction to town there is a path along the railroad tracks at the end of the street. An underpass leads to the dense forest of Thorpe Park. It's so great to be in town but close to trails. We love staying here when we visit town and we hope you will too. ANY QUESTIONS, JUST ASK :)

WALKING TO TOWN & PLACES TO CHECK OUT: Parking can be a challenge in popular Downtown. The best breweries and restaurants of South Side ARE within walking distance, for an English person anyway, IF you follow these directions ☺ Cross the street and walk down Clay Ave, you will reach Matador Coffee. Cross Milton and you will see a sign for Mike's Pike (Road runs diagonal to Milton) Walks down Mikes Pike and you will see Mother Road Brewing, Toasted Owl and around the Corner Fratelli's Pizza; ALL GREAT! And beyond that many more great establishments: Dara Thai, Beaver St Brewery, Historic Brewery, Lumbermans (crowded and noisy), Macey's Coffee, Bellagio for breakfast, Raw with it's stunning rooftop bar, The Patio and more. Across the tracks, you will find The Visitor Center, and North side. If you don't like to walk, stop here. But if strolling around a walkable Historic town is your idea of fun then continue on to Fire Creek Coffee (Live music/poetry/storytelling) and beyond. Karma is a local favorite sushi place, Flagstaff Brewery is good for live music and reasonably priced food. Head up San Francisco St, you’ll find art galleries, boutiques and Creolo, Latin American cuisine, another local favorite and dozens more eateries around Heritage Square plus more breweries, pubs, historic hotels, tea shops , coffee shops, wine bars and music venues. If you don't want to walk more than a couple of blocks from the cottage, try Mike and Rhonda's for Breakfast and Himalayan Buffet for lunch or dinner. Natural grocers is at the end of the street. Matador coffee is truly great Java. Sprouts and Safeway and many fast food/cheap eats including Chipotle are a super quick drive heading South.

- "Super cute little place. Perfect size for myself and 2 preteen girls. Only 1/2 hour drive to Williams which was perfect for us. We hit Bearizona on our way into town and returned the next day to take the Grand Canyon Railroad and the next for the Deer Farm, all activities we'd recommend. After our exciting days Sweet Pea Cottage was a great place to return to and get a good night's rest. The train was far enough away that it didn't wake us in the night but was exciting to go out and watch when awake. Host (Madeline) was easy to communicate with and we would stay again in the future!"

Guest have a full kitchen equipped with basic necessities, full size appliances, microwave, place settings, basic pots & pans and limited spices.
We also offer a laundry closet. Equipped with iron and ironing board.

There are 12 stairs from parking area to the home. Guests must be able to go up and down stairs.

Please note that the drive up the road to the home can be difficult in snowy conditions. The village is diligent about plowing but if snowing, it may require 4 wheel drive or chains to navigate through the neighborhood up to the home. We do our best to clear snow on the entryway as quickly as possible.
